User ImageSoleil let out a heavy breath as he swung his head, an attempt to get his soaked and rather clingy mane out of his face as he ran forward near blindly. "Damn.." He let out a slightly aggravated snort at the limp locks of mane in front of his eyes, starting to become a bit annoyed at the situation. Rain, rain, rain. All of this rain had soaked him down to the bone, including his usually curled mane and tail. It wasn't the type of wet that chilled you, more of a neutral feeling, not too hot or cold. Hide-numbing after awhile, even.

Rain had been pouring down all day, thunder heard nearby, threatening Soleil's travel with a pesky storm, but it seemed like things were starting to lighten up as time passed. It... seemed to be night, with how dark it was. But then again, he couldn't tell with all the clouds up above. Sol' gave a sigh of relief as the rain softened on his skin, now a light sprinkle instead of the heavier pour just a moment ago. "It smells like... salt?" He said, hesitating on the last word as he slowed down his run to a trot.

"Is this the ocean?" Hell if he knew! He'd never even seen one before, being raised up in the plains with his sisters, only recently beginning to venture out farther. His travels hadn't brought him out this far south yet. The stallion must have looked out of place, slowly wandering along the sandy coast with a confused and intrigued look on his face.

Things had been going as usual for Kismet lately; all except for this suddenly terrible weather. Up until earlier in the day, the weather had constantly been pleasant and warm. Now, there was heavy, blinding rain, with clouds so dark it was nearly impossible to tell day from night. The rain pitter-pattered onto her back, soaking her mane and hide, oddly feeling warmer than she'd expected. Luckily, she had adapted to the elements, and continued to press onwards blindly with her eyes squinted to see through the rain. She had been traveling around on her own for as long as she could be willing to remember, so her wish was merely to follow her hooves to where-ever they wished to roam.

Even with her past experiences with the weather, this storm was pretty bad. Even with squinted eyes, her vision was blurry and rain managed to hit her eyes, every drop a bitter pinch. The storm had really come out of nowhere, but she hoped that it would go away soon. Besides, it was dark enough out as it was, and she didn't want to have today be the day that she actually stumbled upon. It would be nearly impossible for anyone to see her, except for maybe her markings, and it wouldn't even be an enjoyable interaction. Besides, she wouldn't even be able to hold a conversation; the rain blocked out all sounds, even with the occasional cackle of thunder.

She continued to push forward, feeling more and more thankful for the lightening downpour. The thunder eventually began to ebb away, and the landscape before her become to become visible once more like it had been only yesterday. She could see how the grasslands that she had traveled down yesterday had thinned out into a more beachy grass, and the distant white caps of waves poked up onto the horizon. Wasn't I just here yesterday? she thought to herself in brief discontent. Not that she minded at all, but she preferred to go to new places. Like I haven't already been everywhere else she joked to herself.

Kismet traveled briefly onward at a relaxing walk, letting her hooves drag lazily through the drenched mixture of sand and dirt by the edge of the coastline. She looked up, noticing an out of place object, as well as color. I never would of thought that I would run into someone out here, especially after such a terrible storm! Maybe he's lost? she questioned, approaching him at a silent trot. Coming up from behind him, she heard him ask, "Is this the ocean?" Surely he hadn't noticed her, and was talking to himself? She didn't really mind either way.

"Yup. You've made it out here to the ocean." Kismet offered a warm smile as she spoke to the dripping wet stallion. Hopefully she wouldn't scare him off...

Hm? Brought out of his thoughts, Soleil gave a turn of his head to see where the owner of this new feminine voice was. 'So there's someone else here other than me. How unexpected.' Oh wow! The mare was already right behind him. This horrid weather, with the near constant downpour and night settling in just moments ago, had made it so difficult to hear and see.. Well, everything. He hadn't even heard her approaching while he was taking his first look around at the ocean. "Oh. Hello there, miss." Sol' said to the equally wet Soquili with a smile of his own, turning his body around to properly greet her. He didn't want to be rude, now, did he? Nah, his parents had taught him and his sisters better than that.

"So this is it, then? The ocean.." The stallion said out loud, giving a blue-eyed glance back at the water lapping at the nearby sandy shore before turning his attention back to the mare. "A lil' more chaotic than I thought it would be, with this weather stirring the water up and everything." Allowing himself to relax a bit more now, seeing as the weather had now calmed down the thunder and lighting in the distance and the rain had stopped at last, Soleil kept his full attention on this new Soquili.

The ocean could wait a little more, right? It wasn't going anywhere anytime soon.

My, this female had lovely markings! They were quite the sight, those blues and purples standing out against her dark coat with ease. Such a pretty mare. Seeing no real reason to keep his thoughts to himself, Sol' flashed a small white toothed grin to Kismet and motioned towards the swirled markings along her hind legs, then to the ones on her front legs. "You have beautiful marks." He complimented, thinking to himself for a second before giving a soft chuckle. "I almost forgot to introduce m'self. I'm Soleil, but feel free to call me Sol'."

The stallion carried himself like a gentleman as he turned, and as the rain continued to slow down she could see the markings on his body. It was a beautiful design, just like the night sky. He almost settled right in with the blueish horizon settling down beyond him, and Kismet really liked how his mane and tail colors complemented the backdrop and his body. Although it was unusual to find another lone horse in this area of the region, it was even rarer to find someone who seemed so peaceful and natural after such terrible weather. The remains of rainwater dripped from tips of his mane, and she felt a flush of embarrassment when she realized she was still dripping wet, too; this wasn't the way to be presented to a friendly stranger! Besides, there was something about him that seemed regal or mature, which really appealed to her already.

"Yes, you've somehow seemed to have stumbled upon the ocean during the storm," she applied firmly but sweetly. "It's usually a much calmer place than this; the storms usually make it become so hectic and chaotic, as you noticed. Maybe you could come back someday on a clear, summer day. The ocean breezes feel so amazing in that season~!" She flashed another warm, welcoming smile that she couldn't help but to let spread across her face; it seemed to be becoming a bad habit of hers when she met people she liked.

His small toothed grin was so adorable! It made her stomach flutter like a flock of birds taking off, her cheeks flush again although her dark color helped to conceal them, and her smile widen. So, he calls himself "Sol"? she repeated to herself within her mind. "Well, it's very nice to meet you, Sol! I'm called Kismet. I'm a traveler, so it's very lucky I've gotten to meet you~! It's not too often I run into someone, especially after that terrible kind of storm!" She dipped her head slightly as a general curtsy, what she did whenever she introduced herself to anyone. So, what carries you to bring yourself to the ocean during a horrible rainstorm like that one?" Kismet asked Sol inquisitively. She was genuinely curious, but if he didn't want to answer such a simple question she would be fine with that as well.
