Ru continued their trick or treat excursion, keeping an eye out for any interesting candies (and still puzzled by what toothbrushes had to do with Halloween). They were really feeling the lack of costume right now... oh well.
Their puzzlement was broken by the sight of an aetherjelly floating by with a bag of sugary skulls in its tendrils. The jelly dropped the bag at Ru's feet. "For me?" He took the jelly's bobbing to mean yes. "Thank you. That's very nice of you." They picked up the bag of candy and plopped it into their bag. As they went on, they noticed that the jelly was still floating by them. They guessed that they'd picked up a new buddy.
Karayas was so tired and her legs were beginning to hurt. Stumbling a bit to the next house she rang the door bell but there was no sound. She clicked the knocker, then the door sprang open and out came a ghost!!!! Stumbling backwards she landed on her bottom and to her surprise the ghost dropped a trick for her. Giggling at herself she realized the ghost was nothing more than a thin white sheet made to look like a ghost.

Having checked his candy bat he was happily munching on it as he walked to the next house to trick or treat at. It had a large fence and porch and was decorated. Stopping in front of the gate, Kalek was amazed at all the decorations. There were so many! He loved it. Moving about the shadows was a figure dressed in black who seemed to disappear and reappear at will. His heart began to speed up but he wanted to see what this house had in store for him. Would it be a trick or a treat? Maybe a plush or another familiar friend? He would never know until he opened that gate and stepped inside. Watching for the shadowed figure he walked through the decorations and then suddenly the figure was there. Kalek did the only thing he could "Trick or Treat!" with that the figure laughed and motioned for him to follow. On the porch was a table that had all kinds of yummy treats on it. Making his choice he bowed with a flourish and off he went with his prize!

Her group was dancing about making themselves a pain due to how happy and excited they were. SnowLily on the other hand was getting tired and slow. She was not sure how much more she could take before she fell asleep on her feet. Walking behind the group, she ran into the back of the Kirin who was the most annoying and of course they shoved something at her from the table. Not caring what it was she took it and turned to go back to wait.

Skipping along, feeling the breeze through her wings Dayanara was in a slightly good mood. The breeze was cool and refreshing, the night sounds were pleasing to her ears. Her group was slightly ahead of her and she hurried to catch up, as she walked up the steps she was the last to say "Trick or Tr.... something bumped her wings. Whirling around she saw a familiar, an Atherjelly! It was beautiful and seemed to want her attention. Reaching across to the small bowl, she pulled out a bracelet and immediatley put it on. The familiar seemed to move around as if to say "Can I come to" giggling Dayanara walked off with a motion of her hand for the Atherjelly to follow her.

The amount of treats and tricks he has received was more than he could count. Each house had something new for the trick or treaters. He loved that one would have a corn maze, another would have a dart game, another bobbing for apples, some had nothing but tricks awaiting the unsuspecting, while others held plushies and familiars. It was fun going house to house not knowing what you would get.
The next stop seemed to be one that could be anything, the house was lit but not overly so. It had a few decorations but nothing like the last few houses.
Waiting his turn he heard Trick or Treat from several of the freshlings, all holding their bags out. The friendly Imp smiled and dropped candy in each bag and waved them off.
The trek to the next house felt like it took no time at all. Aside from the first couple houses, her haul had been quite good. With a bright smile, Pepper knocked on the newest door. As the door opened she realized that there was a bone covered wreath on the door. A hood covered figure stood, holding a softly shining lamp.
"Trick or Treat," Pepper said dryly, holding out her bucket. To her surprise, not only did she get some candy pieces, but she also got the small green lamp the nightmare? had been holding. "Thank you," she murmured, just loud enough to hear, before turning and walking back to the sidewalk. It hadn't mattered that they hadn't done or said anything to her, they'd just creeped her out. She shuddered and turned to watch the rest of the group trickle back to the sidewalk. Treats, Familiars & Plushies: 2

The hooded figure might have startled him. Especially considering that they didn't say anything, just stood there, offering a handful of candy to each child that approached. Hikito had paused a moment after Pepper started back. Looks like she had actually gotten something pretty good! More confident now that this wasn't going to be a trick, the hybrid approached. "Trick or treat!"
With a flourish, the figure showed him a cracked eye before setting it gently into his bag. A brief glimpse of. . something had Hikito scurrying away. He wasn't even fully sure what it had been. Just that it had been different enough that he was frightened. As he approached Pepper, he tried to take a deeper breath, hoping that it would help calm him down.
The caretaker had had a hard time convincing Red not to rush off on his own. Between the sucky treats and the rest of his group not caring that everyone else seemed to be able to get good treats, he was more than frustrated. It was bad enough that he was dressed up in this viking costume and nobody had even said he looked cute in it! With a growl, he stalked up the sidewalk. He was determined to get some candy from this house. Not even the ominous air that the hooded figure was giving off could stall him. He stalked right up and growled out a "trick or treat."
To his surprise and delight, the figure chuckled softly as they stepped aside, revealing three different bags of candy. Between candy corn, candy eyes, and candy skulls, Red grabbed the skulls. Instead of a thank you, he growled out, "Good!" Then he turned and stalked back down the steps to go back to the sidewalk. It was a start at the very least. Feeling venomous, he opened up the bag and took one out. He tossed the entire candy into his mouth and crunched savagely on it. A second joined it before the treat was carefully wrapped up and tucked beside his torti. Treats, Familiars & Plushies: 1

Kanda slipped up the steps to the door, ignored by Red. The hooded figure didn't quite have the intended effect on her. Instead of horrified or scared, she was merely curious as to what they looked like under the hood. After they held up their sign, they were surprised and pleased by the fact that the figure replied to them in sign language. After a brief exchange of excitement and pleasure, Kanda walked away with a bright grin and a pumpkin pencil. It didn't matter to her that it wasn't candy. She loved the little pumpkin figure on it. She could probably pull it off and wear it on her finger to show her dad if she wanted! Treats, Familiars & Plushies: 3
Lucasta continued the search for candy and cool costumes. She thought she heard somewhere that the adults got to go to a cool party, with pretty dresses and masks... that sounded so cool! She was kinda mad that she didn't get to go there. She wanted a pretty dress...
When her group went to a certain house, the old coot within was throwing out weird vegetable things. Only good reflexes saved Lucasta from getting hit in the face with a turnip-thing. It had a smiley face on it. She scrunched up her nose... what the heck was this?! It wasn't a candy, that was for sure. Not even quality.
And.... It was back to tricks. Trystine sighed a little and stowed yet another notebook a away, wondering if anyone else's luck had been as bad as theirs this year.
Miele couldn't help but squee a little when the next house let her pick her prize. It was an adorable vespercat statue! She had seen a few other students with them and had wanted one since she first saw it!
Aster wasn't too upset about getting a pencil, at least it went with the notebook he had received earlier and it made a great set. He was sure he'd get some use out of them.
Errai really wasn't all that surprised when they got another trick instead of a treat. However, what did surprise them was that a tortie came out of the house and seemed to cling to their shadow. They guessed that it really was a treat after all!
Blithe plucked a little pumpkin bracelet out of the bucket on the table. She squeed with glee as she instantly put it on her wrist and admired how cute it was.
Elirian beamed as he agreed to go with her. This day was turning out to be the best day ever! Having never let go of his hand even as she strode backward and spoke, she twisted back around so that she was at his side again. Perhaps maybe just a tad closer than she had been before. “I knew you wouldn't let me down,” she grinned over at him, honestly ridiculously happy that he had agreed to go with her. “Oh, oh! Hold on!” She gasped suddenly, letting go of his hand for a moment to run over to a woman handing out plushies. Thanking her quickly, she snagged the one she wanted and hurried back over to him. She really didn't need it, but the skull on it reminded her of him. With a small smile, she grabbed his hand up again and resumed their trek to the haunted house with her precious plush clutched in her other arm.
As Aly let go of his hand to link her arm with his, Veles’s chest puffed out proudly as she leaned against him. That meant he wasn't coming across as super lame. Maybe. It could mean that he was and she was just being nice. The air seeped right out of his balloon in a manner of speaking upon the realization but he shrugged it off. He led her over to the chairs, quite pleased when he saw they were big enough that both of them could fit in one comfortably, he stepped to the side a bit. “After you,” he grinned, letting her climb into the chair before lifting himself up with her.
Ru continued the trick or treat trek, swinging his treat bag around and skipping a little as he walked. A large, pale roadblock got in his way eventually, though. Cautiously, he reached out to touch the turtle-like creature, and it booped his hand with its head. "Hi," he said. "Wanna come with?" The Torti began to trudge along with Ru, and he asked the chaperone what it was. When he was informed that it was a Torti, he mentally filed it away. What a curious creature! So shiny with earthly beauty. Ru felt kind of bad that this Torti had such subdued colors and made a mental note to put some colorful ribbons on it if it decided to follow him home.
Lucasta was on the move, her eyes keenly open for any interesting treats. She was very much hoping to not have to deal with any more wacky veggies. This next door her group stopped at had a Nightmare who gave her a look that she couldn't quite parse. Sort of a sad smile? How odd. The Nightmare dropped an orange and green Kidden-like plushie into her bag; a pencil was taped to its paw. Was that supposed to be a statement or something? Eh. The plushie was nice and soft, clearly well made, so she wasn't going to make a fuss. Granted, it was no Goodbye Owlbear (even if the one she'd gotten from the machine had an eye on its tummy), but it was good.

Cleo, upon reflection, was doing incredibly well. Without any prompting or pushing, she had managed to obtain not only candy, but also a unique vegetable specimen, a useless but thoughtful toy and now, waddling beside her, a new familiar."I hope you will enjoy aeonium and echeveria,"She said to him, the t0orti merely nodding lightly in response. Cleo's head was swimming of terrariums to keep him in when she arrived at the next house. Remembering herself, she knocked decisively on the door and said, louder this time, the expected chant. The person who answered the door absent-mindedly gave her candy, seemingly distracted. After a moment she realised something was off, however, when she tried to give candy to more children who weren't there. "Wait, are you alone? Tonight?" She asked with a gasp. Without waiting for a response, she shoved a lantern into Cleo's already overflowing arms. "You have to be careful! Not everywhere has reliable streetlights. Be careful, ok?" Caught off guard, Cleo nodded with wide eyes. "Good!" The woman near-shouted, before closing the door. Turning slowly, Cleo looked down at her new friend."That was... peculiar,"She commented to her silent companion.
Connor was getting a little restless. So far none of these houses had been particularly generous with their candy, and that creepy doll really wasn't helping things. She knocked almost aggressively on the next door, hoping she'd finally hit the candy jackpot."Trick or treat!"She did not, in fact, do so. The people who answered the door stifled a laugh as they put some freakish-looking turnip into her bag. Sick of being treated like a fool, Connor let out a growl before the rest of the gang could reluctantly take their own 'treat'."What even is this? You know the trick in 'trick or treat' is what we do to you if we don't get candy!"She bluffed. It worked, fortunately, and the startled looking couple quickly scrounged up some candy to give to the group. One of them handed Connor a ferret plush, hoping to placate her. With a sniff, Connor turned dramatically to lead her group away. They think a toy will make up for their shenanigans? If only that freak Zeerah was around, he'd get revenge.
Zeerah tried to get Xero to laugh with him about the prank, but it seemed his twin wasn't as amused."Oh come on, don't pretend that wasn't funny,"He insisted, shoving a thumb in the direction of the recently-egged house. "It was childish."Xero responded monotonously. Clearly it wasn't meant to be an insult, but Zeerah couldn't help but get riled by the comment."Childish? Me? Giving away toothbrushes to kids to piss 'em off on Haunted Hallows is childish!"He retorted. Xero was silent, clearly marking the end of that conversation. Fortunately, Zeerah couldn't stay mad at his twin for long, so he simply shrugged it off and casually knocked on the next door."Treat? Yeah? No one wants that other stuff,"He said cheerfully. The man at the door giggled at the joke, before pulling out two large lollipops for them. Zeerah's eyes widened with delight, but Xero merely shook his head, pointing at a disturbing doll sitting on a table next to the door. "You... want that?" The man asked suspiciously. Xero nodded, and with a shrug the man handed it over. "No harm in it, was gonna chuck it away after tonight anyway, creepy thing always looks like it's staring at me." Determined not to miss out on this haul, Zeerah quickly chimed in."I'll just take the lollipop thanks,"The man laughed again, handing him the candy before closing the door.
Sabera was already growing bored of this tradition. For the amount of time spent begging strangers for candy, these children could simply complete chores to acquire the funds to purchase their own. Wishing he could get more into the spirit of things, the hybrid noticed an orange torti hiding in the bush they walked past. The rest of his group moved on, but Sabera was drawn to the familiar."Are you lost?"He asked. The torti merely blinked slowly at him."As am I. This civilisation is... complicated,"He admitted. Because of the solidarity or whatever inner motivations, the torti emerged from the bush. Sabera smiled down at it, before jogging slightly to be with his group. He arrived just in time to receive a... 'festive' bag of candy. As they walked away from the house, Sabera noticed the torti had followed him. Frowning, he turned away. Hopefully he hadn't picked up a stray.
Essurio listened to the other freshlings around her chattering away about the last house. It had been pretty creepy; no doubt it would be the talk of the group for the night. The teacher was offering to take away any of the disturbing items if the kids wanted, but Essurio kept hers for reasons she didn't even know. Sure, it was creepy, but it'd feel wrong to give it away. Finally they arrived at the next house."Trick or treat!"She chanted, her voice soft once more. Many of the freshlings groaned as they realised who answered the door; one of their teachers. She exchanged a few comments and laughs with the teacher escorting Essurio's group, before handing out an assortment of books, pencils and erasers. The group reluctantly thanked them before walking away. Of course, Essurio was thrilled; she usually had such poor-quality stationery, this was a lovely treat for her.
It was Colette's first Haunted Hallows in Below, and she was determined to get everything she could out of it. She'd dressed as a tiny witch, her hat almost bigger than her head. In her brief time Below, she'd become obsessed with the occult and so was naturally smitten by this event. She gawked at all the costumes and decorations, favouring anything to do with witches or aliens. Her first stop made sense to her; an apartment building. After all, with 10 houses in one spot, you get 10 times the candy! It just made sense. Ringing the first few bells got her no responses, but finally on the fourth attempt there was a response."Ooh is that trick-or-treater? I'll be right down!"After a few moments, a purple-haired demon appeared at the door.""Trick or treat!"Colette chanted diligently; she'd practised saying it all morning. The demon immediately gasped at Colette's costume, excitedly giving her some candy."It's like looking in a miniature mirror!"She exclaimed."Hold on, I've got something for you..."She trailed off, rummaging in a small pouch at her waist. Finally she produced a small crystal ball. Colette's eyes widened as she took it, staring at it like it was the most valuable thing in the world."My first crystal ball! You take care of it, ya hear? And feel free to come by any time for some lessons,"She offered excitedly. Colette blurted out a rushed thanks, still staring at her new treasure as she turned and walked away. The demon giggled lightly, waving her goodbye.
Karayas was still giggling when she ran off to the next house, that ghost scared her but it was a fun, silly scare. Who knew what this house had in store for her? She was filled with anticipation on what would happen.
A small black candle was the only light at this house, in the two front windows. A shadow passed behind them back and forth as awaiting someone. Swallowing she knocked softly, waited a few seconds then turned to run off when the door squeaked as it opened. Something brushed up against her legs and looking down she saw a black VesperCat moving about her legs and making a purr noise. It suddenly sat and there attached to a collar was a small bag. "A treat bag! she took it and ran off in a happy mood.
The wind was getting very cold, it seemed to come out of nowhere. Huddling deeper into his cape he trotted to the next house behind his group. They seemed to have energy to spare but he felt tired. Knowing the next house could have some yummy treats or some nasty tricks, he hurried to catch up. When he stood on the porch, the bowl was being passed around so quickly he almost missed it. Reaching out he managed to snag a small bag of candy before it was passed to the next person. Treats! he said happily. Turning he ran off before his group making them catch up to him for a change.
Checking her bag to see what exactly she got from the previos house she was stunned to find a pencil. "Really? A pencil? Bleh Bleh Bleh" she muttered outloud. The Kirin turned and stuck their tongue out at her and she replied in kind. The group moved towards the next house but she was angry at that uppity Kirin and began to kick stones by the gate instead of going up right away. Sighing she ran up but was to late and of course the Kirin had another gift for her from the house this time it was a matching notebook, with a smirk on their face they shoved it at her and ran off.
Putting it in her bag she turned to follow when a Wisp appeared right in front of her. Shocked, she stood there for a moment while that Wisp was bobbing all over the place floating around her head making her dizzy!

Her new friend, the Atherjelly was following at it's own pace, Dayanara ran up to the next house. On the lawn was a overly bright Grimm who was wearing a mask. They were chasing her group all over the yard, giggling at them since they were screaming, Dayanara slipped up to the small porch and helped herself to a treat while they others were occuppied.

Watching the house across the street, he was giggling at the Grimm who was chasing some freshlings about. One freshling seemed to be smarter then the rest, slipping up to get a treat while the Grimm was occupied. "Smart very smart"] with that he turned to find himself standing at a rusty old gate. The yard was not well cared for, the trees looked weathered, the bushes needed to be cut and the grass was high enough to reach his waist. But the house was lit up so they must be taking part in the season. Shrugging, he walked over as fast but carefully as he could. Looking around, suddenly a very skinny Imp popped up and giggled loud causing him to jump. "Sorry I could not help myself, that was mean. Go help yourself to a treat in that pumpkin pail by the steps while I go scare your friends"] with that the Imp was gone and he collected his treat.
The next house was almost reassuringly sweet looking. Pepper never thought she'd use that to describe a house covered in fake spiderwebs. It was probably the demon pair that was waiting bright eyed for freshlings to come up for candy. Though the mint and brown bracelet she got wasn't quite candy, she did like the way it looked next to her pumpkin bracelet. Treats, Familiars & Plushies: 3

Hikito didn't quite trust the next house. Surely they knew something was up with their neighbor. Why else would they look so excited to see a bunch of freshlings scrambling up their walkway? "Trick or Treat!" he exclaimed, semi warily. To his surprise he was handed a dark chocolate bat. He gave them a grin, but as he turned to walk back he realized it was melting. No choice but to shove it in his mouth right away, was there? Happily chewing, he waited for the rest of the group to get there. Treats, Familiars & Plushies: 6

Red blatantly stared at the pair sitting in front of the house. They were seriously trying to get him to take it? The carved. . . .turnip? Yeah it had a happy face on it, but there was no way he was taking it. The problem was solved when his torti stretched his head out, trying to eat the horrid attempt at a treat. Scoffing, he took it and looked them right in the eyes as he fed it to his new pet. "Thanks," he intoned sarcastically before stalking off. Treats, Familiars & Plushies: 2

Another pencil rounded out her group.Kanda loved this new one just as much as the first. A bat and a pumpkin. Maybe there would be more pencils with decorations! Or candy! Oooh, there were just too many good things being given out this year! Two tails swished happily at the thought. She skipped back to the group, pleased with her haul and hoping to get even more and better stuff. Treats, Familiars & Plushies: 3
Exet couldn't help the grin that took over his face. He was starting just adore everything about the way Eli was. Her infectious happiness wrapped around the boy, holding him in a place that he'd never known there was. And as she took her place beside him, Exet felt like he could take on the world! However, when she slipped away from him, his expression darkened and his brow furrowed. Why'd she go away? It wasn't until Eli turned back around, running back to him, did he understand. He shook his head and laughed, holding her hand tightly as she slipped it back into his grip. Leaning over as they neared the haunted house, he whispered "Don't go running off like that on me again, little Eli." Smirking, he stopped in front of the scary attraction, looking to her. "Ready?"
Aly was totally content leaning against Veles. Outside of her family, she didn't really have any friends to speak of. It was nice to have someone she could be clingy to. She giggled as he waited for her to climb into the chair, nestling up against him after he made his way onto it with her. She closed her unusual eyes, resting her head on his shoulder. "You're so comfy, Veles~" she chimed softly to him. If she wasn't careful, she could easily nod off right there with him.
Elirian giggled as he whispered to her, her fingers lacing with his as they walked. “I won't,” she assured him with a sweet smile, “I just had to get him! He's so cute!” Awkwardly, she maneuvered the plush from her arm to her hand as she wiggled it at him. She almost told him the real reason behind wanting it. Almost. She decided against it for the simple fact that pretty much coming out and saying ‘I got it because I wanna have something that reminds me of you’ was either creepy or corny. She hadn't completely decided which one yet. As they came up to beginning of the attraction, a man handed her a wisp lantern throwing off a soft red glow. His question made her grin and she nodded, clutching his hand tightly. Whether from a touch of anxious fear or her bubbly excitement, she had no idea.
Veles could barely contain the wide grin that spread over his face as Aly leaned into him. With no hesitation, he lifted an arm and wrapped it around her shoulders, snuggling her closer to him. All her fluff and soft fur created a bubble of warmth about them, shielding them from the chilling night air. Leaning his head against hers, being careful not to smoosh her ears, he settled in the chair comfortably. “Tonight's been fun, right?” He murmured, hoping she had fun with him. Because maybe if she did she wouldn't mind him finding her at school sometime just to hang out. It'd be nice to be able to spend some time with someone outside of his family. And Wynnie would just explode when he told his adoptive mom he had a new friend.
Taboo continued keeping watch for his sisters. He wanted to show his mother that he was a good big brother! The next house was full of scary things, and he did his best to make sure they didn't see them, he didn't want them to be scared!

Banshee was a little confused at Taboo's reaction to things, it was as if he didn't want them to experience Hallow's End at all. She made a face, trying to get passed him to see the decorations but he was so much bigger that it made the endeavour rather impossible.
