As a willing, but less than thrilled participant in the joys of trick or treating, Exet went along with Eli's wishes. Every now and again, he'd glance off and look at goodies some other kid had gotten, wishing he could just slide over and try to snitch it for himself. Ah well. But then he noticed that she was starting to act weird. Almost disinterested. Huh. When she pulled him aside, he looked at her curiously, then cracked a wide grin after she spoke. With a wink, Exet simply wandered into a small crowd of kids and bumped into a couple, expertly slipping his deft hands into their bags before making his way back. "I believe this my suit you, Eli," he said as he held out a bracelet to her.
As the adult gave candy to Veles, Aly didn't even think about getting something for herself. She was just happy to hang out with someone she could just be her with. As they made their way back down the steps and Veles offered her some of his melting chocolate, she happily accepted and did her best to gobble it up quickly as to not get it all over her costume. She was working on licking her claws clean when Veles brought up tortis. "Nope!" she said, glancing down to her new friend. "Did you forget that you had one?" she giggled.
With wide eyes, Elirian watched as he simply meandered his way into a group of children, bumped into a few of them, and headed back her way. She blinked her lavender eyes at him as he presented her with a bracelet, at which she merely stared for a moment before a grin broke out over her face as she took it to slip it on. “Why thank you,” she giggled, not bothered at all by the fact that he lifted it from someone. She stuck her arm out, twisting it this way and that as she admired her gift. Her eyes snapped back up and she glanced around, looking for her very own first target. Which was a conundrum in itself, a doll dressed as an angel trying to burgle someone. It was almost enough to bring her to a nervous fit of laughter. Instead, she skipped off and into a small crowd. She felt bad for taking another kid's things, so instead she caught sight of one of the adults with their back turned. As quickly as quietly as she could, she reached into the bag they were holding, fishing out something that she deposited into her own bag before turning to skip calmly back to Exet. “I did it!” She exclaimed excitedly the moment she came close enough to him. “Look!” she opened her bag, digging out the crystal ball she'd snagged and her smile immediately fell. “Awww… I thought I grabbed some candy for you.”
Veles chuckled as she gobbled up the treat while he did the same. When she denied the extra torti, and the thing kept staring at him, he simply shrugged and took Aly’s hand again, leading her down the steps. “Nah, I guess it just likes yours?” Up until this point, he was only really sure of his wisp friend’s presence. And now there was that staring torti. Who knew what else he'd come across. “So where to next?”
Pollux smiled at his sister as she proclaimed he was special to her as well, that meant a lot to him. At the next house Pollux got a black vespercat statue he smiled. "I don't know if I want to collect them all but they are cute." He then saw the wisp floating around his other familiars. Pollux smiled. Then turned back to Rosie and said "I think I might head home soon." He said with a yawn "I've gotten lots of prizes and I'm getting tired." Pollux wanted to go get some cuddles from his mommies. He gathered his stuff his pretend dragon wings tired.
(I think I want to switch out for a different freshling.)
Magi was starting to get tired she collected another notebook and a plushie she liked then she turned to head back to the dorms to rest. She had gotten enough stuff for now. She went to tell the caretakers she was getting her stuff together to head back to the dorms. Besides Magi figured it would make room for other freshlings to come and trick or treat in her place. She hadn't found anyone to hang out with anyways oh well maybe she would find someone else to play with another time. She packed her stuff away and rubbed her eyes.
Aelius was getting his things together to head home, he stopped at another house and got a strange handbag of popcorn, this was a really strange trick. Aelius thanked them as best as he could before he headed off on his path he sighed again. He needed things to get better or he just needed to go home to bed or well to the dorm. Where ever he decided to go to so he could feel better. Aelius looked at his other things and he felt himself smile when he looked at his familiar friends this had been a good holiday.
Shock wasn't sure where the other freshling had gone he was lost and getting a little grumpy he considered turning in for the night, maybe tomorrow would be a better day. Shock seemed to be having really bad luck, except for earlier when he was having a blast. He shrugged and went off on his own sneaking in the shadows trying to avoid the other freshlings and caretakers for a bit to catch his breath and get his head on straight before he went to the next house to see if he could turn his luck around and get some candy.
Andrew looked at the strange imp and looked down at the cracked crystal ball he had been given, "Umm thank you." He said softly and put it in his bag. It was the thought that counted right? He continued on he had lost track of the freshling he had met and wasn't sure how to find them again. Perhaps they would find him at some point or perhaps Andrew would find someone else to talk to or maybe he should just head home for the night. He sighed and went on, then decided to head home to cuddle with his mom.
Karayas was beginning to tire a bit, so she sat down on the curb and checked her bag of goodies. Bobble floated nearby, darting around her head making Karayas giggle.
Nothing!
Kalek--
Kalek was having a blast! He got to play games, get scared, get some delicious candy and won 2 familiars! He was very happy, so happy he decided to take a quick break to play with his new friends.
SnowLily as usual was her funny, clumsy self. She was not paying attention and ran up the steps to the next house since she was so excited, tripped over her own feet and went tumbling back down the stairs. A group of freshlings passed and giggled at her, she giggled to at her own self and slowly stood up to dust herself off. She turned to climb the steps again, but the light went off. She had missed her chance. Shrugging she whistled to Bobble and they went on to the next house.
Nothing!
Dayanara--
Still feeling happy from winning a game she went to the next house and followed a group up to the door. One of them knocked and it opened slowly to a small hand holding a bowl full of treats!! Dayanara waited her turn and chose a candy apple to snack on later if she did not fall asleep first. One of the other freshlings bumped into her and ran off, knocking her down. She felt a small nudge on her arm looked down and saw a beautiful green Torti standing there. It turned it's head to the side and watched her. Rubbing her backside she giggled a bit then said "I guess you claimed me huh? New friends are the best!" and slowly pet it's head.
Dayeon-- Dayeon was lonely, he wanted someone to talk to but the group he was with kept walking ahead of him as if they wanted to leave him behind. He just walked, keeping up the best he could. He came to the next house and before he could enter, he felt a tug on his leg. Looking down he spied a Torti! It seemed to want something, bending down he said "You want something?" the Torti seemed to stare at him and cocked its head to the side before butting him in the stomach. Dayeon toppled backwards and could not help himself he laughed loudly. The Torti seemed to know what it did and waited for him to get up.
(Not taking the trick)
Nothing! Nothing!

The next house seemed MUCH more promising, with lots of decorations and spooky lights that glinted through the windows, and spooky music could be heard coming from beneath the door. The Grimm that opened it smiled at her and handed her a crystal ball, which made a bit of a thunk in her pail. "Oh neat!" She grinned as she thanked him and then pulled it out. "I can almost see something......" She gasped as her friend discovered that hers was broken. "Aww no.......I'm sorry, Gilly; d'you want mine? I don't really need it....."
Gilly was right behind her and decided she liked the look of the crystal balls being given out. She smiled as she received hers, but as she turned and pulled it out to see if she could see anything in hers, her smile vanished from her face as she saw that hers had a large crack in it! She wanted to go back and tell the Grimm, but the group was already moving to the next house. She must have looked dejected, because then Zoe offered hers up in replacement. Smiling once more, Gilly reached out and patted her friend's shoulder. "It's okay Zoe; 'luck of the draw' and stuff like that. Tell you what, as long as you let me play with it when I come and visit, it'll be fine, okay?"
Caitlyn had actually chosen the house across the street from where the other two had gone, and so she missed out on the crystal balls. Instead she came face to face with the same grumpy adult that Gilly and Zoe had encountered last time, and with the same crappy handout. "Ugh, I can't believe it's that time of year again.....blasted kids and their blasted knocking.....well here, take this and scram!" Caitlyn stared down at her hand, where a raw turnip with a face of anguish stared back at her. She grinned in spite of herself; she bet if she could snag a few clippings of hair from the academy barber shop, she could make this look like a real shrunken head! Haunted Hallows was turning out to be pretty great!
The toothbrush that she was handed at the next house was a surprise. A toothbrush? For Halloween? Seriously? But Pepper took it with a truthful thank you. It might have been her imagination that the bristles were a bit too red to be trusted, but she didn't think so. The purple plush was much better, even though it looked like it might have possibly been dipped into something. . .possibly blood? Pepper shuddered and stuffed that into the bottom of her bucket. Maybe she could conveniently forget it somewhere and someone else would snatch it up.
Quickly retreating from the house, Pepper stopped once she'd reached the sidewalk. While she was eager to see what the next house had in store, she did have to stay with the group. One of the caretakers had asked her to be in charge, so she had to make sure they all stuck together. Treats, Familiars & Plushies: 1

Hikito gave a tricksy grin to the demon who fell back to watch all of them. That wouldn't keep her safe from his tricks once he started them. For now he was content to follow along with the crowd and collect a bit of treats before he started pulling tricks. Just in case he didn't get to visit any houses after them. First in line for the next house, Hikito was disappointed to see that they were giving out hand shaped bags filled with some candy corn and stale popcorn. Ugh, again? He was pretty sure he got something like this last year too.
At this rate, it'd be awhile before he collected enough treats to make up for all the junk. Just for the sucky 'treat' when the baphomet handing out candy wasn't looking he snitched one of the plushies sitting next to the door. The black and white squid would make a nice hat, and they probably wouldn't miss it. That was what he told himself anyway. He just wanted it. Since his candy sucked, it was only fair. The next house better have something good or he was gonna start getting mad.

A mint colored demon dropped back to the back of the group, passing Kanda as she did. She said her name was Pepper and she was keeping an eye on everyone. Kanda had tried to introduce herself as well, but wasn't entire sure that it had been successful. She had a handful of post-its to show to make things easier. One of them said, "Hi, I'm Kanda & I'm mute, but I can hear you just fine!" She wasn't sure Pepper had actually paid attention to it, but she had hopes.
About the time she realized Pepper was going to the very end of their group Kanda noticed that it was her turn to get something. She waved her 'Trick or Treat' sign at the nice bapho giving out treats and gave her best puppy dog eyes. She was rewarded with a small lamp with what looked like a wisp in it. The nice bapho was quick to assure her it wasn't an actual wisp, and Kanda gave them a quick hug. Clutching the lamp to her chest, she hurried to join the rest of the group. The soft orange would look great in her room! Treats, Familiars & Plushies: 1
Red was snickering, trailing behind the group. His new pet would hopefully mesh well with his others. Not that he had very many others. But hey, it would be the start of his very own group! Pleased with this thought, his tail swished softly and a soft smile touched his lips.
The three other nightmares in his group were already heading back to the sidewalk while he was heading up towards the house. With a huff, he considered maybe going a bit faster. He had said he would stay with the group. Then again, if he just kept lagging behind he could say that he didn't notice when he lost them? It was a thought. A good one.
"Trick or treat," he held out a hand as he spoke the words that would get him some candy. The bucket had the torti in it, so he didn't quite want candy just dumped right into it. But, it wasn't candy that the older couple handed over as they cooed at him. It was a pencil. A pencil with a pumpkin eraser. Red gave them a dirty look as he set it in with the torti before turning and hurrying after the rest of his group. So far this street sucked. Treats, Familiars & Plushies: 1
Zoe went up to the next house in good spirits, hoping that this time they might both get something they want. She smiled as she was handed what looked like an intricately carved lantern with a little 'wisp' floating around inside of it. Well at least it wasn't one of those scary real ones! She looked for Gilly and realized that she had taken the next house over, and she was returning with a sulky look and twirling a pencil with a fancy-capped eraser. She felt sad for her friend, and was determined to do something about it. She held out one hand for the pencil, and pushed the lantern towards Gilly with the other. "C'mon; let's trade. You know I don't like wisps anyway."
Gilly had skipped a house in the hopes of getting better luck, but all she ended up with was a pencil! Granted it wasn't used and full of teeth marks, but she wanted a treat for once! She mumbled a thank you and trudged back to the group. If only the caretakers had let her bring Soop! That vespercat could sniff out all of the good treats! But the caretakers had told her to leave her pet home, for fear he would run off and take Gilly with him. Grown-ups were SUCH party-poopers! She walked sadly back to Zoe, not even noticing her friend was observing her until she saw Zoe's prize, a really cool lantern with a fake wisp inside, pushed in her direction. "Are.......are you sure?" She looked hopefully at it before tentatively reaching out and taking it, and handing over her pencil. "I'll definitely take care of this one for you. Thanks Zoe!"
Caitlyn had once more chosen the other side of the street in the hopes of finding more creep stuff, and she wasn't disappointed. A rather naughty teenager was answering the door and giving out what looked like body parts, sending the recipients scurrying with tall tales about how he got each piece. When it was her turn, he handed her a chipped glass eye. "I got this off a murderer that LOVED to go after freshlings. He'd lure them in the woods by promising them a spectrefox for a pet, and they'd never be seen again. If you take it, he MIGHT try to look for you to get it back. His name is.......Gary Glass-Eyes!" He made to jump at Caitlyn while slam-dunking the eye inside her pail. Caitlyn watched it roll around for a second, then looked up at the teenager with a rather plaintive expression. "Don't you have the other eye too? It'd be neat to have a matching set." Obviously put out that his story hadn't scared her, the teenager just sneered at her. "Beat it, kid; go on." Shrugging, Caitlyn slithered off to rejoin the group.
