Objective 4

So I am writing this log at the request of the Harbringer’s about what has happened to me between day zero, or as I call it the day the world got ********, to the point of what I am doing now. For a whole day I hid in a janitor’s closet in the art department, I could still hear things moving around outside and for the most part I was even too worried to even move. It wasn’t until I heard voices of people, people who weren’t infected or undying in the hall that I finally left my small safety nest. We raided the vending machines first for food and then searched, looking for other signs of life on the campus. It wasn’t easy at first, more or less terrifying we weren’t entirely sure if we would even make it through the couple of nights. Some of the people I had met, the small group of us have already gone, taken by the undying or infected and left to rot outside the dorms. It hurt, it hurt a lot knowing that even though they had made it through the first obstacle, surviving the first surprise attack of this virus that they died before they could see the first month. I learned that getting close to others was hard because you weren’t entirely sure if you would ever see them again, even more so knowing that one day you might never return.

After a week we found other students in the dorms, they had started to board up the first two floors doing their best to keep the infected at bay. I, well we, joined them seeing that it was better in numbers to fend off plus the accumulating knowledge was helpful. We brought whatever supplies we had, even told the leader Corey where we had seen some or at least when we had last past by still had supplies we could have used. Things at first were not easy there, we hadn’t boarded up enough and we found out how certain noises of food wrappers and what not made it easier for the infected to find us. People disappeared a lot during rounds and we found out we were slowly running lower on food and needed a set up to ration it out better. I spent most of my time not sleeping either, we were supposed to be sharing rooms but I just slept against walls. Things have gotten better, I don’t think about the people I have lost so much but then again I don’t talk to a lot of people. Maybe one day I will do a better job at trying to a friend of sorts to someone. Anyways that is it I think.
