Resolute "My goal is set. Heh, time to get started." Vyren is a very determined person. When he sets his mind to something, whatever that may be, he won't stop until his goal is achieved. This trait is both negative and positive. For if he becomes determined to beat a dragon, he will practice and practice until he feels ready to go out and fight that dragon. Yet, if he is determined to seek revenge on someone who has wronged him, he won't stop until he feels vindicated. All in all, whatever Vyren seeks to do, he will not stop until it's done.
Fiercely Independent "No, I can do it myself. I don't need your help." Growing up in such an unstable home all his life, Vye has always been extremely independent and self-reliant. Even from a very young age, he realized that he could truly rely on no one but himself. Thus, friendship and companionship are very queer to him. He won't turn down the help of someone if they offer, necessarily, especially if he knows that he can't do whatever the task is by himself, but he will always take the "harder route" if a task is given to him that he must share; if only to prove to himself and everyone else that he can take care of himself.
Fiery Temper "Get out of my ******** face!" Living with all the anger and frustration as a child with his parents, Vyren has grown up thinking that having a temper was always a normal reaction. The fuse with him is rather short, and annoyance comes quickly. He will scream, curse, and fight to no end and no matter who it is that angers him. He generally isn't apologetic whenever he does hurt someone's feelings with his anger, either. He feels they deserved what they got, and isn't going to back down from a heated fight or debate until he feels that he's won. Whether he knows he is in the wrong or not, he doesn't like to give in.
Stubborn "I'm right, that's all there is to it." Vyren has grown into a stubborn child. He won't admit defeat easily. If he has a strong stance on a specific subject, he won't change that for anything. For example, when people found out about his father, they tried to sway him in the direction that his "mother was the victim", but no matter what, his faith in his father wasn't stirred a bit. He will not be one to back down from an instigated fight by someone else. If they wish to fight or start some type of s**t, he will be stubborn enough (and mercilessly) not give up until he is the victor or until he has proven to himself and his opponent that he is the better of the two.
Grossly Arrogant "I'm the best. No one can overcome me." Vye is extremely arrogant, thinking that he's literally the gods gift to Magesc. He feels entitled to everything (the personality trait handed down from father to son). He believes that he will, one day, be as infamous as Twilight, the Oblivionite Warrior. Not that infamy is something that he wishes, but he does look up to the great Twilight as a role model in some sense. He also looks to his father (and all his deeds, good and bad) as a huge role model in his life as well, being the only person left in it to help him achieve greatness. Vyren feels as though he deserves more than others for having been put through so much in his life, thus far. He will talk down to others (especially Hybrids and women) as much lower than him and feels that only other men can really be up to his "quality standards".
Cunning "I am so sorry! I swear I didn't mean to do it." Acting is a great quality within Vye. With a few sad tears or woeful words of apology, (more so in his child and teen years than his adult ones) he seems to get out of most situations with ease. He can say or do things with what seems to be such sincerity that people believe his ruse. He has been able to get away with a lot of things in his lifetime with his parents and guardians. He is used to getting his way when it comes to elders, for his cute, innocent persona allows his words to be taken to heart more likely than not. This cunning attitude will turn sour and quickly escalate into anger if, in fact, he has failed to con someone or if someone doesn't believe his act to be sincere.
Self-Disciplined "Training comes first, always. If you don't train, you can never improve." Vyren has always been very disciplined to his training and honing his skills. This is probably his best quality, by far and will be until the day he dies. He knows that to be the best, you have to practice and train every day. He has set up for himself a strict regime that increases his dexterity, accuracy, and stamina. You must be skilled in not only the force of the blow, but the defensive aspect of the fight as well. Offense is important, but he literally views the saying, "The best offense is a good defense." as his life meaning. His life revolves around his training and mastery of the Firani skills and his defenses. He leaves very little time for anything but, in his own life.
Vain "I look amazing today, don't I?" Vye is in no way afraid of a mirror. He looks good, and he knows it. This, along with his arrogant attitude towards his abilities just makes for a very self-pleasing and self-loving person. He loathes those that don't find him attractive and will make it a point to make sure they know of his looks and skill. He is not afraid to flex his built up muscle in the direction of anyone and will be sure to show his supremacy over others whenever he can. (This will be much more apparent in his later stages. His apprentice stage he will find that he is "cute", which will turn into massive vanity later in his life.)
Loyal "Whatever you need, I will do." Vyren is an extremely loyal person. Probably his second-best quality, he is loyal without wavering whatsoever. First to his father and then to anyone who tickles his fancy a bit. When he finally does find a friend (whoever is willing to put up with him and all his flaws) he will stick by that person to the end of days. He will finally fight for someone other than himself (thinking of them as "second best in the world" to him, of course), and be there for them whenever they need him. This is where his "kinder" side comes to light. Yes, he's sort of an a*****e through and through, but when someone taps into his loyalty, that loyalty grows into sensitivity towards that person. His admiration for them will grow to be so great that he would stop at nothing to help them achieve their goals as well. Thus, his sensitive and kind side will show through his undying loyalty towards others that he feels deserve it.
Family:
Zeth Khoe Father A spitfire of a Firani Dovaa, this man is Vyren's biggest role model. Though the tragic events occurred that rendered Lyrette dead, Vye believes that his father's excuse was sound and that he didn't have any part of hurting his mother. Of course, the lies surrounding such a story were far from the truth, Vye doesn't believe his father has done any wrong and wishes to be just like him when he grows, without the imprisonment of course.
Lyrette Maeth-Khoe Mother A Firani Dovaa as well, Vyren looked as his mother as a good woman, with some bad characteristics. In his eyes, Zeth could do no wrong, whereas his mother was wrong constantly. If his mother told him no, he would go to his father, who would tell him yes. Vye never looked as his mother as being a necessarily "malicious" parent, but he didn't care for her one way or another. She was a "good mom" for all reasons being, but her death didn't really affect him as much as it probably should have.
Paen Orestea Legal Guardian After the falling out of his parents and the death of his mother, imprisonment of his father and all of that, Paen took him in and he has been living with him ever since. Obviously, Vye wishes he could be with his father, though that is impossible until his release. Paen was a close and dear friend to both Zeth and Lyrette, growing up with them since they were little. Paen is his trainer, the person who was always there for him from the time he was born until now. When he heard of the Khoe family's misfortunes, Paen agreed to take Vye under his wing and train him up to be the best Firani he could be. A Firani Dovaa himself, Paen understands the powers and hopes the best for little Vye.
History: The following passage contains content that may not be appropriate for all audiences. A more vivid murder scene is depicted towards the end. Reader discretion advised!!!
The story begins not with Vyren, but his parents. His father, Zeth Khoe, married his mother, Lyrette Maeth. But first, lets take you through the lives of Zeth and Lyrette. Zeth grew up in a family of strict Firani Dovaa and knew that his future wife had to be a spitfire just like he was. They met as Adepts in training and grew to be friends, then friends with benefits, and finally a couple after a few years. The two were, for the most part, independent from each other and neither needed, nor wanted, to be tied down. The couple fought often and took many breaks throughout their relationship, but one thing was for certain; the two loved each other very much.
One thing brought them to the point of marriage. As the story went, the two disliked the feeling of being tied down, but something caused that to change. It was a baby. Lyrette found herself to be pregnant with a baby. The healers within the Celestial Plane had told her it would be a boy. The two Firani Dovaa were now unsure of what to do, but marriage was definitely of top priority, as it was an abomination to have a baby out of wedlock.
And thus, the very quick wedding was being planned and within a couple weeks (and much stress upon both Bride and Groom) the two were able to be wed. Their families were then told of the very sudden pregnancy. Of course, the two lied and said they had conceived after the wedding, but that is beside the point. After a few months, they found themselves in the healer's quarters, Lyrette giving birth to their firstborn son.
Vyren was born into the family and everyone was at peace with themselves. As he grew, he gravitated towards his father and loved to watch him train every day. His first word was "dada" and everyone knew he was daddy's little boy.
Lyrette was keen on the idea that the boy would grow up to be like his father, a strong, powerful Dovaa. That was something the woman always loved about her husband; his strength and dedication to the craft. But of course, the two fought still, tangled in a web of constant battle with one another that neither could win; trying their best to keep it from their son and others. That was, until one day...
Lyrette had been slowly falling into depression due to her husband's constant anger with her. Nothing she ever did would satisfy him. He would constantly put her down, now not caring if Vye was around. During these younger years, Vyren looked upon his father's actions as just, and his mother's as laziness and deserving. Vye even began to speak in the same tone as his father towards his mother, even at such a young age. This just caused Lyrette's depression to spiral out of control.
One day, she found herself alone with Zeth as Vye had been out with Paen, his trainer. She had finally gathered the courage to bring up a specific subject with Zeth.
"Zeth..." she began.
"What is it?" the man said in a cold tone.
Tears began to caress her cheeks as she began to speak. "I can't do this any longer. I've made arrangements to go stay with my parents on the outskirts of the city with Vye once he gets home from training. I just...it's too -- AHH!"
SLAP. THUD. The woman fell to the ground in pain, holding her face, tears streaming even more so now.
"You will do NO such thing, you disgusting b***h!" Zeth yelled, "Get up. Now. GET UP!" he said, his hands clenched, flames flickering off of his knuckles and smoke escaping his nostrils.
Lyrette shook on the floor in fear for a moment, but got up when he went down to grab her arm and yank her to her feet. She struggled to get away a bit, pleading with the man. "Zeth, you're hurting me! Stop! Let me go! Zeth! ZETH!"
The screams got louder as the prolonged grip of the man got tighter. She even tried to use some of her fire magic on the man, blowing a stream of fire towards his face, which he was able to wave off with his free hand and it just fueled the fire within him. He slapped the woman once again with his free hand, keeping his grip tight upon her arm. Then, he shoved her against a wall, lifting her slightly off the ground, tears still running down her face.
"You disgust me." she said softly, letting herself go limp, bringing a smile to her face. "I've finally said it. Go ahead, beat me senseless like I know you want to." she said, tears stopped, and that same smirk upon her face.
Feeling no fear from her at all caused Zeth to go into a rage. Not only that, but she had demeaned him. Calling him disgusting was the largest insult she could ever tell him. "Heh...well, you'll regret saying those words to me. You won't live to see another day." he said, instantly punching her in the face, causing her to fall unconscious.
He then let her fall to the ground as he went to the kitchen to grab a knife. He then picked her up, took her to the bathing room and set her in the tub. He slashed her wrists and shoved her head underneath the water and held her down until the struggling body ceased to live. He then took the clothes he wore and burned them in the fireplace, cleaning up the mess he had made from shoving her about.
Some time later, Vyren had come home from his training lessons to find his father in chains with the guards surrounding their house. Apparently, the neighbors had been worried of some ruckus they were making. Vye was so uncertain as to what was going on. His father was being taken away in chains and his mother was dead in the house. The guards took Zeth to be questioned and the boy to be held until Paen was able to accompany them at the guard tower.
"Vye, I have no idea why they are doing this to me. I came home from the market and your mother was already passed. I love you so much son. I would never do this and you know it. Sure, your mother and I fought, but it never came to this. It would never come to this." he said, tears rushing down his face.
Vyren believed the sorrowful words of his father and hugged him, "I believe you papa. One day we will be reunited again. I love you too, papa." the boy said, tears being shed in fear of losing both his parents, not just one.
"Paen will be taking care of you now, until I can again. Remember, son, that family always comes first." he said, giving his son a kiss on the forehead before being dragged away by the guards into a cell.
"Never papa! I'll never forget! I love you!" he said. Those were the last words he had ever spoken to his father.
Since his father's imprisonment exactly one year prior, Vye has devoted his life to training and becoming stronger. He thinks about his parents every day and wonders why his mother did what she did and why his father was being blamed for it. The entire situation was so extremely volatile, that he had decided to lean on no one but himself for anything in this life. Over the course of that year, he had become quite a troubled and independent child. His life sure would never be the same.
Thoughts on the Great Engagement:
He can't wait to get into the action. He loves the aspect of war and fighting runs through his veins. His adventurous spirit takes him on many adventures and he can't wait until he's given the chance to get out onto the battlefield. The fire that burns inside of him is not only that of the element, but he has always had the constant burning to overcome and achieve greatness; thus, winning the war with the other races (no matter what side he ends up taking) will be his greatest accomplishment in the end.
Thoughts on the Dragons and Khehora:
Dragons
They are a means to power. He sees them as nothing more than powerhouses of ultimate energy. The power they hold can help win the war and he will collect dragon souls day and night to accomplish his goals of becoming strong and powerful.
Khehora
Just as the dragons, Vye also sees them as energy to be used to his benefit. Their strength can help him overcome and achieve greatness. After all, that's all he's really after anyway. He may one day tame one or two to aid him in his endeavors, but other than that, he's willing to use them to the ends of the earth and back in order to get where he needs to go.
Thoughts on the Other Races:
Dovaa
The ultimate race. He obviously views these people as the best race within the world. He wishes that the Dovaa wouldn't take sides in the war and just fight it out as a third party to take over the world, although he knows that it won't happen. He feels as though, if he ever does make friends, that they would only be "real" if they were of Dovaa descent. Anyone else will take a bit of work to get him to realize that they would be a "real and true" friend.
Orderites
Up to this point, he hasn't met any Orderites, but he does view them as a potential ally. He obviously looks down on them (as well as Oblivionites) as lower than the Dovaa for multiple reasons, but he believes that he could align himself with anyone (whoever benefits him most at that time).
Oblivionites
Up to this point, he hasn't met any Oblivionites, but he does view them as a potential ally. He obviously looks down on them (as well as Orderites) as lower than the Dovaa for multiple reasons, but he believes that he could align himself with anyone (whoever benefits him most at that time). He does have a special place for Twilight, however, the greatest known Oblivionite to walk the earth. His power has given Vye someone to look up to in a sense of competition.
Hybrids
He honestly looks at Hybrids with disgust. If he can tell you're a Hybrid for any reason, he will automatically be rather rude and discourteous towards them. Mostly because of the fact that he's been raised to believe that only pure bloods (of any race) are much more worthy of his time than any Hybrid would be. He views them as scum and doesn't really care what other's think. If you're a Hybrid Lover, he most likely will look down upon you with disgust.

Character Name: Lazarus "Laz" Sorak Pronunciation:laz-ar-us | laz | sor-ahk Race: Dovaa Clan: Peisio Stage: Adept Gender: Male Age:
Adept: 15-18 Expert: 20-24 Master: ???
Skin Tone: Pale/Peach Eye Color: Bright Ocean Blue Hair Color: Dark Blue-Black at roots fades to Light-Blue/Teal at tips. Hair Style: Mid-Back Length. Curly/Wavy. Always wears his hair down. Height: 5'7" Weight: 125lbs Distinguishing Features: His single beige horn protruding from the middle of his forehead. Clothing Style: Medieval elegant clothing. Orientation: Homosexual Text Color: #32839C
Kind "I hope you are doing well." Laz has grown to be a kind and compassionate youngster. He always wants what's best for others and has always been taught that kindness goes a long way in the world. He hopes that, one day, he can help the world and be able to be there for anyone who needs him.
Caring "Are you alright!?" Along with being kind, Lazarus is constantly thinking of others. He oftentimes wonders how people are doing, making sure they are comfortable in any situation. He also loves to care and tend to the sick, one of the main reasons he wishes to become a Peisio Dovaa in the future.
Outgoing "Oh hello, it's nice to meet you!" If it's one thing Lazarus has, it's definitely his ability to talk to anyone and everyone. His kindness also goes a long way with his natural affinity for making friends and talking to strangers. Brightening people's days, especially a stranger's, is one of this Dovaa's favorite past times. He can walk up to any stranger and strike up conversation with them over the littlest of things and by the end, have a newfound friend.
Loyal "I will help you with whatever you need as you've helped me." The Dovaa is fiercely loyal to any people who help him in life. Like a puppy wanting to please it's master, Laz will follow and become your "best friend" so to speak. Especially if someone were to save his life. He is always trying to repay debts, oftentimes repaying them over and over again, because who knows, one day he may need the other's saving again!
Peace-Maker "Please! Stop fighting!" If it's one thing Lazarus hates, it's war and fighting of any kind. He has no tolerance for it. He will try and make peace with those who are fighting amongst themselves (human-wise). He, for one, can't stand the war and wishes it would end, but has taken the stance that if the war HAS to continue, he will save any and all he can with his Peisio powers. He doesn't mind training or practice between people, as he realizes that this is important. But outright war or fighting, he will try to stop. Self-defense is one of the only instances where he will use any sort of fighting at all.
Dependent "Please don't leave me." He hates to be alone. Simple as that. He's quite dependent upon others. Whether that be friends, his parents, his instructors, lovers, anyone. Once he deems you worthy of his friendship, he never wants to leave your side, especially if that means he has to take something on alone.
Fickle "I know I wanted that yesterday, but I don't today." His interests sway constantly. Something he loved to do yesterday will be something he's tired of or bored with the next day. This is a passing phase and he will oftentimes change his mind five times over before finally accepting something that he can do.
Anxious "Maybe we shouldn't go in there." The opposite of adventurous, Laz really doesn't care for going out into possibly dangerous scenarios. He is a "scaredy cat" so to speak. He oftentimes gets very nervous of caves, dragon hunts, and just anything remotely dangerous or adrenaline rushing. He is definitely the 'saner' half to those who are willing to jump off a cliff, dive deep into the ocean, or anything remotely dangerous. He will also try and find the "safe route" most of the time and whenever possible.
Clean "This is far too messy!" Lazarus is a very clean individual. He tends to clean himself and make sure that he looks his best always and wishes that cleanliness was a much higher priority in most individual's lives. If you're a messy or dirty person, Lazarus will have a very hard time trying to stay and chat, as he will literally want to clean you up!
Flamboyant "Oh gods, this is the most adorable thing!" Sometimes shiny, cute, and flashy things catch the Peisio's eye and he just has to say something! He doesn't have a super feminine voice, but the words he chooses to use, as well as some of his more vibrant actions make it easy to tell that this boy is much more feminine than most men his age. Not only his words, but just the way he carries himself on a day to day basis and with how prim and clean he likes to be, make him out to be a very feminine character in the crowd. Some people have mistaken him (whilst wearing more gender neutral clothing) to be a woman; which he takes no offense to.
Family:
Garen Sorak Father A Ysali Dovaa and father of the two children, Garen is a gardener and owner of his own flower and herb shop within the Celestial Plane. A kind man with a good heart, always wanting his kids to succeed and do better than he ever did.
Sona Sorak Mother A Peisio Dovaa healer, works with sick patients, using her husbands herbalism and alchemy as well as her own healing powers to heal the sick and bring them around full circle. Sona is Lazarus' biggest role model and he wishes to be just like her when he grows up.
Elise Sorak Older Sister Elise has chosen the path of a Ysali also to help their father further the business. She's 5 years older than Lazarus and has always been a protective older sibling. She wishes to work in the family business of healing and alchemy just as her father and mother have always done.
History:
The Sorak family has always been one of love and wisdom. Garen and Sona have always been close to their individual families and have always tried to do the right thing for the greater good. They've always obeyed laws, thought that the rules were there for a reason, and have never given anyone any trouble on purpose.
They instilled that into both of their children from the day they were born. Thus, their lives had always been fairly mundane and never too extravagant. They've lived a simple life, always trying to keep the peace and helping anyone whenever they needed it. It was the way of the Sorak life. So, teaching their children to be kind and helpful was always on the top of their list. Disciplining them correctly whenever they deserved it was also quite necessary.
They opened the Alchemy Shop in the Celestial Plane a year before Elise was born and have been working towards a helpful environment for her and Lazarus from the very beginning.
So, life wasn't all that exciting for the family, but they made it and have been happy with life always being positive influences whenever possible. His family has instilled into him, up to this very day, that he is meant to help save the world of Magesc from utter destruction. It's what the gods would want.
~~~~~
Lazarus was always needed at the shop, but he didn't feel as though that was his calling. He loved following his mother around whilst she worked on healing others. He always told her that one day, after he finished his studies at the regular school, that he would become a Peisio just like her to help others in need. Sona always loved her son, who was her little baby. A mama's boy through and through.
She took him on her calls with her and he learned the ropes of healing, he just couldn't do anything more than watch. He was saddened because he couldn't be a bigger help, though he did help his mother by holding their hands, talking to them, and just being a good sport about the entire process as she worked.
Whenever he did have to work in the shop with his father and sister, he would do menial tasks like fetching water, supplies, or food for them as they worked and did all of the herbalism. His skills hadn't ever improved, though his sister was becoming quite the expert in it herself.
The only thing Laz wanted now was to go out and become a Peisio so that he could continue to help his mother with her tasks as a healer as soon as possible!
Thoughts on the Great Engagement:
Lazarus cannot stand fighting, thus the war is a terrible idea. But since it's happening and even though he wishes there were a way to stop it, he decides to take a stance and help (by healing) anyone who needs it, no matter which side they fall on.
Thoughts on the Dragons and Khehora:
Dragons
He wants to learn more about them and finds them rather fascinating. The fact that he's a Dovaa -- what he considers to be a distant cousin to the dragons -- makes him want to learn all he can about them. If they weren't so feral, he would try and befriend them. He does acknowledge that he will have to fight against them for their orbs and to "prove" himself to the community, even though he may not be okay with it at first. Though if they are threatening him or his allies, he won't hesitate to defend himself.
Khehora
Like the dragons, the Khehora are interesting creatures. He wishes to befriend them and learn of their powers. He also knows about the "bond" and wishes to one day bond with at least one to help him through this life.
Thoughts on the Other Races:
Dovaa
He loves all people, thinking that most everyone is equal. But Dovaa are who he's closest to, obviously.
Orderites
He's never met an Orderite, but just wishes to befriend them or help them if they need. His parents instilled into him from a young age that they are "overly righteous" people, but have true good in them. They may be judgmental, but can and should be befriended; if only to show them the ways life should be lead.
Oblivionites
He's never met an Oblivionite, but just wishes to befriend them or help them if they need. His predetermined notion (given to him from his parents) is that they are a "lost" people and just need some direction. They are apparently "machines for war" and he just wants to show them the right path.
Hybrids
He has learned that Hybrids are generally "lower class" people, though he doesn't judge. He's also heard that they're more powerful. So this intrigues him.
So many good times. All memories now. My heart is broken. He left me for a man named Casseth... Last Appearance:How the Pieces Fall
[ O r d e r i t e s ]
» Odette: ●●●●○○
A little brat, but nevertheless, I hope she learned that she needs to keep her mouth shut more before she really gets into trouble. Last Appearance:Clearing the Mind
A protective little s**t, but he's good for those Orderites, I must say. Last Appearance:Clearing the Mind
» Nelareth: ●●●●●○
As annoying as the bug is I, deep down, care a lot about him. He's just so ******** stubborn sometimes.
» Toki: ●●○○○○
I really didn't care for him. He was a rude old man-dragon! Last Appearance:Going Home
[ N P C s ] » Evesi: ●●●●○○ || #69BBD6
The quiet Orderite who tried to help out by telling the brat to keep her mouth shut. I give her props for that.
» Jax: ○○○○○○ | ✧ || #157050
A Ysali Dovaa. I believe he took advantage of me in my drunken state.
» Lazarus: ●●●●●○ || #32839C
He saved my life. I owe it to him.
» Lore: ●●●○○○ || #CCC35C
An alright Kiandri. Kind of an a*****e.
» Mai: ●●●●○○ || #6FDEDE
An Aiskala Dovaa that I met very briefly, but she seemed alright.
» Paen: ●●●●●● || Maroon
He's my trainer, guardian, and best friend. He's like a father to me.
