Still feeling quite confident after his last excursion out into the world, Vyren decided that this time, it was time to head to Soudul; the dark continent. He felt that since he beat his last dragon, he would easily be able to defeat another; especially now that he had chosen the fiery clan of Firani. He had the power to do so much, and he was ready and willing to defeat the dragon nemesis.
The companions stayed at home that day, as Brand wasn't feeling well and Estelle decided to stay with her lover for comfort. Vyren wasn't going to be out long, just enough to specifically come to Soudul to find a dragon to defeat. They should be the same difficulty, right?
As he was making his way through the large, dark forest, he spotted a Ysali dragon, one that looked much more wicked than that of the other on Serenia; but that didn't stop the Dovaa from narrowing his eyes and smirking evilly.
"Here goes." he whispered to himself, slowly drawing his blade from it's hilt. He also readied a fireball in opposite hand; his fiery eyes piercing into the Ysali's soul. He was ready to pounce on his unexpecting victim.
He leapt from the safety of his bushes, throwing the ball of flames he held in his left hand at his target. The dragon quickly spun around, hearing the disturbance and darted away, the fireball missing completely and dissipating into the dirt. A screech was heard from the opposing Ysali and then vines sprouted from underneath the Dovaa, grappling his ankles. Fear rose within the boy as he tried to pull out of the grasp, but was unable to. He knelt down to cut the tight vines loose and looked up to see the Ysali had disappeared.
"Dammit!" the boy called, causing the birds that sat in the tree limbs to fly off into the sky above. A distraught Dovaa finally got himself loose and slid the dagger back into his sheath. The dragon hunting wasn't over; it was just beginning.344 Words
