"I really need a break. All this walking is killing me. Brand, Estelle, wait up." he called to his companions who had come for the ride.
It was back to Serenia for yet another attempt at dragon hunting. He hadn't even tried to go back to Soudul, for he figured they were faster, more suspicious of their surroundings, whatever else. He just knew that he had killed his first dragon over here on Serenia the first time he encountered one. So what is to say he couldn't do it again?
The boy had been searching for a good hour for any forms of life and he hadn't had luck whatsoever.
"This is bullshit." he called as he just stopped near a tree and leaned up against it for a short break. He kicked a rock that was near his foot and crossed his arms, utterly disappointed and feeling tired.
"Where are all the dragons!?" he yelled out into the nothingness of the forest, causing birds to fly from their perches into the sky.
Vyren didn't know a thing about patience. He had trained day in and day out for the past week with his new fire abilities just so that he could strengthen them enough to fight off a measly Ysali dragon. What was so hard about them? Sure, they seemed to be quick, but he was able to jump on the one's back the first time! He just had to catch them by surprise.
The Firani Dovaa scooted down the tree's trunk until he plopped down onto the ground. The two Fae Dragon companions fluttered overhead in a circle, playfully tagging one another. Vyren looked up at them having fun and rolled his eyes as he looked around the forest's floor for any sign of life. Nothing.
"You know what, lets just go home." he said impatiently and almost a bit angrily standing up and wiping down the backs of his pants.
It was then that he decided it was best to just make his way back through the forest to head on his way home.
It wasn't for another fifteen minutes of walking that he heard a shuffling in the bushes nearby. "What was that!?" he asked aloud as he crept closer to the bush. As he opened it, a little squirrel (or squirrel equivalent) scurried out and up a tree.
A sigh emitted from the boy's mouth as well as a roll of his eyes. Suddenly, a stinging, sharp pain smacked on his back, causing him to fall to the ground. He quickly rolled over to view a large Ysali dragon standing over him, angry as all hell, and another Ysali behind him. Vyren's eyes widened a moment before reacting in anger.
The Dovaa threw a quick fire blast in the face of the Ysali, causing him to screech out in pain, and jumped up, quickly taking out his dagger and stabbing the closest thing he could at that point -- it's wing. The other Ysali wrapped his feet up just like the one on Soudul had, but she didn't leave. She gathered plant energy into her mouth and blasted it at the Dovaa, who thought fast enough to blast back as powerful a stream of fire as he could muster.
The two energies collided in midair, only to burst upon impact into a cloud of dust and smoke. More shuffling was heard and when it had all cleared, the two were nowhere to be found.
The Dovaa looked all around him for any sign of his foes, but nothing. He quickly cut himself out of the vine prison and ran towards the docks as fast as he could, heart racing with fear of what could have happened.
