Markings: White on her paws, stomach and underneath her eyes. White dots on her ears.
History: Maawio has had a rather eventful past, her mother was impregnanted by a rogue and Wingu gave birth to Maawio and raised her by herself. However, her mother had a rather aristocratic attitude and it was her ambition to see Maawio become mated with the young prince, Simba. This made her daughter anxious, gave her a stutter and confused her. Maawio was always made to impress the king and queen and was quite intimidated by her mother. She met a large male lion by the name of Sukutu, who she instantly bonded with and deemed her brother. However as Wingu busied herself Maawio met a young rogue by the name of Amari, it was him who was to make her change, to make her stronger.
In a turn of character she attempted to flee the pridelands with Amari, who she felt attracted to, even at such a young age. However as she argued with the male, she couldn't help but be drawn back home, where she learnt of her mothers death, and felt extremely guilty.
However she was to meet Amari again, he apologised and they took their freindship slowly into something more. Maawio grew a little more confident by each day, as the mourning for her mother had passed and she no longer received pressure from Wingu. The two settled down and as Maawio was pushing adulthood she bore one cub.
But it seemed Amari could not keep his promises, and his son grew to not even know his own father. Maawio followed Amari and paid a visit to the jungle, only to find that he may be being unfaithful. Her heart torn in two she took her cub back to the Pridelands and wondered the border, taking little time to socialize.
Again she started to grow strong, and one day the lioness saw Amaris orange form on the horizon. She accepted both his apology and explanation and put her lonley weeks behind her. The pair become mates once more and have now settled down for good, hoping to bear more of Amaris cubs.
Personality: Maawio is extremely sweet and kind natured. She's gentle, graceful and calm. She cares greatly for others and is very considerate. However she has a tendancy to worry and can suffer from anxiety when stressed. She is very cautious and worries about her son, though she's very loving. She also gets confused somewhat easily. For a big cat, she is suprising content in water, and is also quite a skilled huntress, which she used to do to escape from her mother. Never taking more than she needs from the hunt she cares greatly for her son and her mate, and would do anything to protect them. Like all pridelanders she follows the Pridelander religion and believes her mother is amoungst the stars. She now understands Wingu a lot more than she did when she was young, and however harsh her mother may have seemed, she respects her spirit. |

Markings: Traditional wild dog markings.
History: Mataka was born to a loving family, who spent much of their time being active, hunting running and playing. Mataka had two younger brothers, whom she often played with. One day a storm ripped through the heart of the savvanah. The pups mother stood amoungst the tall grass, aiming to find her way back to her cave and back to her family.
As the female raised her head, a flash was seen across the sky, followed by a roar and a sickening thud as the female fell, the grass around her stained scarlet. The pups were still fairly young when this happened, and their father refused to tell them what had happened. He was heartbroken, and couldn't raise the pups by himself, so he left Mataka and her brothers near a river.
The current soon swept them in, and Mataka was thrown violently onto the bank, her path obscured by a large rock which her head cracked against. When she awoke, all she could remember were the happy faces of her brothers, her name and the parting bark of her father. Confused and still the enthusiastic wild dog she was, she decided to start anew and start travelling, stopping no longer to think about her past.
She started travelling, and soon met many others, like Maawio, and Kucha and then finally other wild dogs. She joined a pack called the Hamaji, and met Dhati who went on to be one of her best friends. However he had an argument with the alpha, and she and Dhati became mates, left the pack and went to form their own when they learnt that Mataka had fallen pregnant.
Settled into pack life, Mataka gave birth to six pups at adolescent, and is now the Alpha of the Mpinzani pack.
Personality: Mataka is extremely "hyper", enthusiastic and never seems to run out of energy. She loves to run and skip and hunt. She has loads of confidence and is very friendly, even towards those she doesn't know. She is also quiet loud. She has also recently grown attatched to pups and loves to play, many would consider her as one of the pups herself. She is also very content with pack life, and is always enthusiastic no matter what happens. |
