The adolescent ran happily, paws bounding of the ground, tufts of grass flattened by her large steps. Puffing, she became out of breath easily, reclining, a rounded belly clearly visible. Soon she thought to the squirming pups inside her stomach. It was the first real time she'd been able to face her pregnancy. Before she had simply shrugged it off, attempted to explain to Dhati and carried on happily.
But now, the female found herself feeling more maternal. She was confused, her head drowning in many complicated thoughts. What would happen to her children? Would she be allowed to stay in the pack? What would Dhati think when they were finally born? She heaved a sigh, heavy body lying close to the ground, eyes flickering closed for a second.
No matter how painful the birth would be, even if she had to lose her independance, even if she had to lose her place in the pack, Mataka knew she would love these pups dearly, and she would do her best to protect them.

Kucha had been chirping away to the other neighbourhood avian from a tall tree that overlooked the lands where Mataka's pack was. She had spent the days flying around the area, watching the others go about their buisness and keeping an eye on her pup child.
However, the past couple of weeks returning to the jungle in search of some company and had only just gotten back.
To see her pup in such a 'round' state mildly surpsied her, especially as they'd only had the talk about love not so long ago. Oh how time flew! Sometimes even faster than her own two wings.
She spread said pinions and with a high-pitched trill let herself be carried by a whisp of wind until she came to a landing beside Mataka.
"Hello there pupling!" She said, "everything turned out okay with you and lover boy then?" There was a mischievious hint in her tone.

Mataka smiled happily as he dark eyes found the orange form of her avian friend. She wondered if Kucha had been adventuring again, as she really did seem to have a life that was as free as possible.
Mataka felt her freedom slipping away, as not only she joined the pack, but when her pups were conceived.
The female lowered her nose to greet the bird. "Hello!" At her other comment, she chuckled. "Well, not really, It was an accident! And he doesn't understand, but Im happy!" She exclaimed.

"He doesn't understand?" She chirped, tilting her head to the side as she gazed up at the pup. "What is there to understand? You're going to have his babies!" She fluttered her wings, feather fluttering the air around her orange form. "He needs a good talking to if yah ask me." Okay...so she was a little protective over her so called 'pup child'.

Mataka smiled warmly. No matter what, she would always talk to Kucha. She could entrust this little creature with so much, and she was really good to talk to.
Eyes flickering over the moving bird, she sighed, stomach inflating further, giving the impression that she was about to explode. "I don't think he was ever told about ermm..." She paused, brow furrowed. "Reproduction?" She offered. "I think he just gets easily confused too..."
Though Mataka couldn't offer a decent reason for wy he didnt understand. She was still asking herself this question, and she still hd a lot to learn about Dhati, although they were good friends.
"And I've tried talking to him, but I think the best way to get him to realise is for him to see his pups himself." She finished, satisfied with her "plan". Hopefully Dhati would realise...
