Ten years ago, in a forest known as Evergreen, the Uktena wolf pack ruled with hardly any troubles. A band of coyotes known as Tolinka were their only true problem. They were a new sinister group of coyotes who had stepped foot into Evergreen Forest, and had little to no fear of the wolves. They truly never bothered Faux, Uktena's memorable Alpha Male, and the pack. They were more of a nuisance than anything. Fierce, the coyotes Alpha female did cause some quarrels and make her marks in their history but none the less, Faux and the rest of his pack were able to constantly surpass the fellow canine species.

Two years had passed, and the wolves and coyotes still showed a tension between one another, but life in the forest was about to be shaken up. A new group of wolves had advanced into the territory. They were ruthless and followed a sadistic and sinister leader. Their motives were horrifying and they always took pleasure in killing. They were known as The Brigade. They fed on anything, wolves or coyotes. They made killing a sport. The creatures in Evergreen had never faced such a terrifying monster. Their leader, Drekavac was a ruthless and demonic male. He and his group wreaked havoc among Uktena and Tolinka. He plotted well and framed the murders on either the band or the pack. This turned the two against each other instantly and an all out war occurred. After causing such havoc, Drekavac told his pack to move out. They would leave Evergreen and return when the band and pack were too weak to fight against The Brigade.

Two years passed, and the war between the coyotes and wolves still raged on. Faux had mated to Venus, the Alpha Female, and had his first litter. Drekavac had also had his first litter. Both wolves had sons born, sons that would be just like their fathers and carry on their reign. Goliath, Faux's kin grew to become just like his father. Personality almost identical and goals for Uktena the same. Azazel, who gained the name 'Yellow Eyed Demon' was identical to his father, even more sadistic, sinister and terrifying then Drekavac. Both sons would become the Alphas of their given packs.

When the time came for The Brigade to return, they had not expected Uktena to remain strong. Many wolves and coyotes perished. Faux had been killed in battle, and Drekavac as well. Tolinka had lost to many members and many fled the moment their family and friends were slaughtered. It was a brutal battle, and those who survived would never forget the gruesome war.

From that day, Evergreen has changed completely. Uktena and Sioux, formally known as The Brigade, now live on opposite sides of the forest. They fight over who will rule Evergreen. Though recently things have been quiet. Will Azazel continue his tranquility, or will the Yellow Eyed Demon strike Golitah and his pack at random, when they are least expecting it? Only time will tell. Which side will you fight for?

Uktena is the native pack to Evergreen. They have been around for many years. Over the years they have kept their reputation of being a tranquil and easy going pack. They do not condone violence and they aren't push overs. Many find the wolves to be friendly. They are a trusting pack and have been known for easily accepting outsiders. They are naturally forgiving and believe that every wolf deserves a second chance.

They take pride in the reputation and have kept the mentality of being a sanctuary for the forgotten and troubled. The members of this pack are loyal and brave beings. They only wish for good in the world, and would never result to violence unless they had no choice.

Sioux, formally known as The Brigade, had once been a group of several wolves. They had no hierarchy within the pack, just a simple leader. They had no positions or jobs, only those instructed from the leader. After the huge battle, they had made home within Evergreen. From there, Azazel had sent a spy into their enemy pack, in order to figure out just how they worked. With frequent met ups, Azazel learned that pack life with ranks and such would work better, thus he formed a pack with newcomers and developed Sioux.

They are a pack of pure demonic intentions. They are vicious and vulgar beings who usually find pleasure in spending free time killing things and fighting other wolves. They are known for their taste for wolf meat. It has become a tradition in the pack that in order to be an official member, you must kill another wolf and feast on its body. These wolves are the most aggressive and violent wolves to have ever roamed Evergreen.

Eventually we will make a new map.
But for now, imagination can be used at its best.

Each territories are at the base of mountains. They are surrounded by their own rivers.
Between these rivers and territories is a large opening.
Some call this the hunting ground or clearing.

Wolf packs are often portrayed as strictly hierarchical social structures with a breeding "alpha" pair which climbs the social ladder through fighting, followed by subordinate "beta" wolves and a low ranking "omega" which bears the brunt of the pack's aggression.

Mated pairs usually remain together for life if one of the wolves does not die. Upon the death of one mated wolf, pairs are quickly re-established. Since males often predominate in any given wolf population, unpaired females are a rarity. Polygamy does occur, but primarily in captive situations. Multiple litters are rarely successful, due to infanticide by the pack's females. The age of first breeding in wolves depends largely on environmental factors; when food is abundant, or when wolf populations are heavily managed, wolves can rear pups at younger ages in order to exploit the newly available resources. Captive wolves have been known to breed as soon as they reach 9–10 months, while the youngest recorded breeding wolves in the wild were 2 years old. The average litter consists of 5–6 pups. Litters of 14–17 occur 1% of the time. Litter sizes tend to increase in areas where prey is abundant. Wolves bear relatively large pups in small litters compared to other canid species. The gestation period lasts 62–75 days, with pups usually being born in the summer period

Postural communication in wolves is composed of a variety of facial expressions, tail positions and piloerection. Aggressive or self assertive wolves are characterized by their slow and deliberate movements, high body posture and raised hackles, while submissive ones carry their bodies low, sleeken their fur and lower their ears and tail. When breeding males encounter subordinate family members, they may stare at them, standing erect and still with their tails horizontal to their spine. The pre-caudal scent glands may play a role in expressing aggression, as combative wolves will raise the base of their tails whilst drooping the tip, thus positioning the scent glands at the highest point. Two forms of submissive behavior are recognized: passive and active. Passive submission usually occurs as a reaction to the approach of a dominant animal, and consists of the submissive wolf lying partly on its back and allowing the dominant wolf to sniff its anogenital area. Active submission occurs often as a form of greeting, and involves the submissive wolf approaching another in a low posture, and licking the other wolf's face.

When hunting, wolves will attempt to conceal themselves as they approach their prey. With ungulate herds, they then either attempt to break up the herd, or isolate one or two animals from it. If the targeted animal stands its ground, the wolves either ignore it, or try to intimidate it into running. When chasing small prey, wolves will attempt to catch up with their prey as soon as possible. With larger animals, the chase is prolonged, in order to wear the selected prey out. Wolves usually give up chases after 1–2 km , though one wolf was recorded to chase a deer for 21 km. Sometimes, a single wolf will distract the herd with its presence, acting as a decoy, while its pack mates attack from behind.

Mature wolves usually avoid attacking large prey frontally, instead focusing on the rear and sides of the animal. They kill large prey by biting large chunks of flesh from the soft perineum area, causing massive blood loss. Such bites can cause wounds 10–15 cm in length, with three such bites to the perineum usually being sufficient to bring down a large deer in optimum health. When attacking moose, they occasionally bleed it to death by biting its soft nose. With medium-sized prey such as roe deer or sheep, northern wolves kill by biting the throat, severing nerve tracks and the carotid artery, thus causing the animal to die within a few seconds to a minute

The breeding pair typically monopolizes food in order to continue producing pups. When food is scarce, this is done at the expense of other family members, especially pups. This is in marked contrast to the feeding behaviours of some other canids like dholes, who give priority to their pups when feeding. The breeding pair typically eats first, though as it is they who usually work the hardest in killing prey, they may rest after a long hunt and allow the rest of the family to eat unmolested. Once the breeding pair has finished eating, the rest of the family will tear off pieces of the carcass and transport them to secluded areas where they can eat in peace. Wolves typically commence feeding by consuming the larger internal organs of their prey, such as the heart, liver, lungs and stomach lining. The kidneys and spleen are eaten once they are exposed, followed by the muscles.

                          H O W L I N GxxxUser Image
Wolves howl to assemble the pack (usually before and after hunts), to pass on an alarm (particularly at a den site), to locate each other during a storm or unfamiliar territory and to communicate across great distances. Male wolves give voice through an octave, passing to a deep bass with a stress on "O", while females produce a modulated nasal baritone with stress on "U". Pups almost never howl, while yearling wolves produce howls ending in a series of dog-like yelps. Howls used for calling pack mates to a kill are long, smooth sounds similar to the beginning of the cry of a horned owl. When pursuing prey, they emit a higher pitched howl, vibrating on two notes. When closing in on their prey, they emit a combination of a short bark and a howl. When howling together, wolves harmonize rather than chorus on the same note, thus creating the illusion of there being more wolves than there actually are. Lone wolves typically avoid howling in areas where other packs are present. Wolves do not respond to howls in rainy weather and when satiated.

Canines have a third eyelid which stretches across the eye and contains a gland which, along with glands in the ciliary body, acts to lubricate the eye. However, these tear glands excrete an oily substance rather than watery tears: Canines are not able to shed the moist tears of sorrow as humans do, but this doesn't mean they don't cry.

They take care of the pack and are faced with making some life-threatening decisions that could ultimately change the fate of the entire pack. Decisions such as promotions, mating and anything important such as that are always made by the Alphas. The Beta's may bring a situation to light to the Alpha's but the end result is always of the two in charge. Generally the Alpha male has more pull in authority than the Alpha female.

Often, the Gamma is known as the peace keeper, they will deal with problems that are too small to bother the Alphas of Beta over; such as a verbal altercations between pack members or troublesome culprits such as foxes or coyotes.

Wolves that look after pups if the parents are busy, may also be known as sitters. It's strongly suggested that Providers who find mates adopt over having a littler of their own, but it cannot be denied for in reality pups strengthen a pack in numbers no matter who they are conceived of. So a rule is set in place, that if a provider were to have pups of her own they are never to favortise their own for others. Pups are all equally as important no matter who their parents are. If a pup is harmed or ignored out of spite or lack of attention one of the consequences will be grave; a provider's pup will be murdered upon every offence until they are pup less. This being said, there isn't a logical explanation for this, sometimes providers have their paws full, sometimes they need to discipline misbehaving pups. Often times more than one provider within the pack can significantly lift the daunting new lifestyle of motherhood that would tangle with the provider lifestyle.

                          O M E G A
The omega is at the lowest ranking animal in the pack and will submit to almost every member of their pack. The omega feeds last and is often an outlet for the frustration of other members, as they are someone that can be safely snarled and snapped at occasionally. However, the omega plays an important role in the pack by acting as a kind of social glue, allowing frustration to be vented without actual acts of war, which could threaten the pack structure.

                          M A R K E D
Wolves who have committed a less serious crime. They are almost as low as the omega, but not quite. They do have a large chance at gaining their rank back.

                          E X I L E D
Wolves that have done hanis crimes, an example of such would be murdering pups, or any pack member in cold blood. More often than not, the alphas would mark an exiled wolf in a well known fashion, such as a torn ear, chunk of meat from the base of their tail, something that won't as easily grow back. Being an exile is a life of solitude, if they were to try and join their former pack again it wouldn't happen, they would be chased out. If they were to attempt to join another pack it may be a very difficult joining for they will know the marks mean. Life will be very hard for an exiled wolf, they will most likely die alone.

When an Outsider is ready to be accepted in the pack, they must pass one more test. The Alpha of the pack will instruct the Outsider to kill and devour another wolf. One other wolf, or the Alpha himself will go along with the Outsider but will not help him/her. He will just be there to observe.

When Novices have proven that they are ready to obtain the rank they have been training for. They will be tested by the Alpha, Beta or the leader of the rank they wish to be. Tests vary and are dependent on the tester themselves. Sometimes Novice Warriors will have to fight, Novice Healers might have to answer a series of questions or a Novice Scout might have to do a small mission into the enemy pack. Novice Nurses will always be left in charge of some yearlings/pups. This will test their ability to be assertive with them.

When a wolf turns one in Sioux, they are taken out by the Alpha or Beta themselves. They will be given a prey whether it be another wolf or a rabbit. They must kill this prey. This is a pride type of Tradition. If you fail, you may be looked down upon as being weak, possibly even demoted. They may retry in 6 months, but if they fail again they may be demoted to omega, chased out or even killed.

When two wolves have gained the permission to become mates, they will celebrate. Their celebration could be to have the pack hunt or they may choose to spend a few days away from the pack. Usually however, they will catch something to thank the Alphas for allowing them to become mates/have offspring.

During the Full Moon, Sioux organizes a massive hunt. They will either hunt large animals or they will hunt other wolves. They turn it into a game. Organizing in groups, they set out to find prey. The group with the most kills will feed first from any kill pile they wish.

When a pup in Sioux is born, the Alpha will immediately examine the litter. If he feels they are weak, he will kill them himself. If they are illegitimate pups, he will force the mother and father to kill them. If they don't comply the Alpha will instruct the pack to kill the mother and father. After a month, if the pup lives, they are introduced to the pack and within a few weeks, they will be given a rabbit to be weaned off of milk.

Outsiders are welcomed into the pack once they have gained the trust of the pack and Alpha. They are then accepted as a full member and the pack will celebrate with either a hunt or a large gathering in which they will howl their approval.

When a wolf turns one, they will be taken out by the Alpha or Beta. The Alpha or Beta will take this opportunity to bond with the young wolf. The Alpha or Beta will then hunt with the Yearling for a rabbit, this possibly being the yearlings first hunt.

On a Full Moon, the pack will hunt Caribou. After that, the pack will feast and just socialize all night.

When born in Uktena, the pups are only visited by the Alphas for the first month of their lives. They are full accepted, unless they are illegitimate in which they will be labeled as mark. They are then introduced into the pack at the earliest a month old or when their mother feels they are ready. The pack will celebrate and are normally very eager to meet the pups.

When a member died, their bodies are taken to a clearing. Here the wolves of the pack will stand around and mourn, howling and keeping their heads to the sky. This symbolizes the pack giving strength to the fallen individual to reach the heavens.

This will be a post action, you choose a random number within the drop down list on the right hand side of the box you type your post within. Make sure you have the correct numbers starting at 1 and ending on the last increment of your specific rank.

Three misses in a row is a failed hunt.
At least half of the hunting party need to get a hit in order for the hunt to be successful.
So, if 4 hunt - 2 need to get hits.
5 hunt - 3 need to get hits.
6 hunt - 3 need to get hits and so on so forth.
                                You may each roll twice.

Also, when fighting let's try and keep it to three attacks each to determine who wins or if it's a tie.
