xxxxW h i s p e r was a bit disappointed that the special moment any fae dreamed of was cut short in a matter of seconds because of some scary earth quake. Like couldn't she just have that special moment, something that didn't have to be interrupted by another wolf or a damned natural disaster? It was seemingly happening to a lot of wolves, they just get into their moment and before they knew it, it was over and something strange was happening sending them into a panic of sorts. The worst of all it was taring their home apart, the whole pack's home was gone. Why was mother nature doing this to them, what did they do to deserve this? The whole run they were partaking in right now she was thinking about her rock and their home and everything that was destroyed but her mind was instantly stopped and thrown back into reality when she felt another being pressing against her. Looking to Ghost she gave him a wary smile, something that let him know she was scared as all hell but glad he was there with her to keep her safe.

xxxxA s they ran, her mind slipped away once again. She thought deeper into the moment she and the brute just shared. She wondered if they were courting now, of course he'd have to ask Goliath and Aven's permission, but Whisper was a little unsure if Ghost was ready for that step. She knew it wasn't safe to assume he was as such for assuming never really was something someone should do for it could give one's hopes up pretty harshly dependent on what they were hoping to or not to happen. Allowing her paws and the male to guild her she stayed within her own thoughts attempting to forget about the tragedy what was taking place around them. She thought of how the male could whoo her in the near future, by bringing her flowers, snacks, meals, berries, you name it. Made her heart sing with a song she'd never felt before. Suddenly Ghost's voice sent her plummeting into reality, it took her a few moments and several strides ahead to realize that he had stopped. Whisper stopped and turned around and looked at him as he spoke of someone needing their help. Cautiously she approached him, worried, sure all she could smell in this area was Uktena wolves, but that didn't mean danger wasn't lurking about. Within moments they spotted a hunter of the pack, Leto, her tail wagged at the familiar face. Sure, she didn't know him on a personal level, however, she was just as happy to see he was okay as she would any wolf within the pack, the family. She remained silent as Ghost encouraged the brown male to tag along with them while they worked up ground to safety.

xxxxT h e sound of rushed feet startled Whisper, and before she knew it there was a wolf bounding through the bushes. Yelping she lowered her body, but before she could get to low to protect herself her face was being bombarded by kisses. Arching her back her whole body stiffened, she laid her ears back flat against her nape for she didn't know what to do. Clearly this wolf was happy to see her but it was so up in her face and essentially giving her a bath she couldn't even attempt to see who it was. As soon they began speaking, Whisper relaxed a little, realizing it was Toka a younger hunter of the pack. When Toka turned her attention to Ghost, Whisper took the moment to stand straight up and shake her fur attempting to put it all back into place after the young fae's flood of affection. Wagging her tail, she was happy to see her okay as well, and frankly, to receive such love kind of make her heart warm a bit. Her maternal instincts were taking over as she looked Toka over for any noticeable wounds. There was an overwhelming feeling to protect her from whatever dangers there were, but that made Whisper nervous for she felt she wouldn't be able to do the job that well. Looking at Ghost she whined, reminding him that they needed to keep going, Toka clearly agreed, for she spoke that they should continue on. Turning tail, the scout began heading the original way they were going, knowing that the other three would follow without a second guess. As soon as Ghost was at her side again she moved closer to him, "There isn't a lot of daylight left Ghost, I know not a lot of wolves are afraid of the dark, but knowing that this flood did to our home... it was sure to have happened to Sioux as well... they could be anywhere. Do you think we should make camp somewhere? Or would we be like sitting ducks for the Sioux to pluck?" she started off strong, knowing what she wanted to say, but then half way through she became very unsure of herself and talked herself out of the plan she thought was smart. Ghost was smart, and strong, he'd know exactly what to do!

Sirona couldn't help but chuckle just a bit as she watched her little daughter stumble about, running into the dark brute before retreating between the faes front legs. The healer flicked her ears and looked down at the young pup. The young one was tired. and she had every right to be, in fact, even Iro was a bit tired. She would make it a point to rest for a while so that Wynter could have a nap. She didn't doubt that Rorin had snatched the pup from her sleep in order to be sure she got out of her den alive. The brown fae lowered her head, nuzzling the tops of the pup's ears. "Are you tired Sweet Girl? Let's find you a place to rest." Her honey colored eyes flickered tp Rorin If they were lucky, any chance of cougars would be decreased by the rain. Even big kitties didn't like water.

The healer fae was just a bit caught off guard by the affection returned from the other wolf, she had been of course, expecting for him to reject her. To say he had better plans for his life than getting involved with a fae that had adopted some unknown wolf's child and planned to raise it alone if she needed to, an act she still wasn't sure if their alpha would approve of. She smiled sweetly, her focus on the brute despite the rain still falling around them. "Well, I don't want anybody else, and if you need time to get use to this even being a possibility, I understand that. You have options now. It's ok." Iro tilted her head a bit, wondering why in the world he had thanked her before laughing softly and beginning to walk again. She wasn't looking to make distance in this journey, she was just looking for a little shelter from the rain for Wynter.

It wasn't too long before Sirona found a place there the rock jutted out over itself enough to cover the pup and at least partially cover the larger two wolves as well. It was obvious this wasn't enough of a finding to alert Goliath but it was enough for the pup to get some rest. Iro nosed into one of the green mountain shrubs, taking the stems in her jaws as she tore them from where they grew between the rocks and laid them across the flat stone as a makeshift nest. "Wyn honey, how about you come get your nap? It's not the most comfortable, but you will need the energy for the journey ahead." The fae herself laid down beside the little nest she had made, close enough for the fae pup to lay in the shrubs and still be able to curl against her for warmth if she wished. Sirona shot Rorin a worried glance, she was really just hoping that the rain would come to a halt soon.

Her worry was cut short by a short series of barks, and as much as she wanted to rise to her paws in alert, she knew how important it was for Wynter to use this time to rest. As their alpha walked into view, she eyed the older male, curious as to why he seemed so distant. It was something about the tone of his voice and the look on his face that made his greeting seem empty. Sirona shifted her weight, a slight feeling of breathlessness washing over her as she finally laid eyes on the alpha's sister. Oh Lupen, she felt bad for Goliath but this was not something Wynter needed to see. The healer moved as if to block the pup's view and rested a paw over the young fae pup's head. "Rest now my little one. The alpha is here and nothing is going to hurt you." She glanced at Goliath an apologetic look on her narrow face. She really did feel his loss, and while it made her think of where her own brother may be, she didn't want to scare Wynter because surely then she would never rest.

indentPanic had taken a hold of everyone when the earth began to quake, but Azkara, touched by some form of madness merely stood still, her lips curling back to show her impressive canines. The female was slightly irritated by the irrational displays of fear at this quaking. 'Azkara will show no fear.' She told herself assured by her own skills. The tawny female's tail ticked a little as the order to get to higher ground came. 'Finally, someone sensible.' As the camp became torn apart, the female found herself rushing off with no cause for concern, at least she hoped. But then she came to a standstill, a horrid crater had opened up in her path making her irritation that much more pronounced. A snarl ripped from her jaws as she paced along the crack, her ears flat and her hackles raised.

indentA familiar odor infiltrated her nose, causing it to wrinkle and a soft growl to escape her maw at the traces of wet dog filled her olfactory senses. 'Ugh, Azkara knows that Reek anywhere.' The female grunted and her ears twitched as the sickening sound of the omega's voice filled her ears. Turning her head to look over her shoulder she spied the infiltrator to her solitude and a rumbling growl filled her throat once more. "Reek, Azkara is not pleased in seeing you here." The tawny wolf barked with a couple quick flicks of her right ear. But none the less the mangy wolf cooed and romanced her as he always did. "Run out of fae's to woo with your disgusting odor, Reek?" She snapped.
                                x
indentAzkara found herself somewhat amused by his words however and she calmed almost immediately to blink her brownish gold eyes at the male. He was lower than dirt, with a disgusting look to him that most females would be intolerable of. Yet, he wooed and courted as though he were the stud of the world. "Azkara will be the one protecting you, mangy example of dog dirt." The female boldly stated her eyes narrowing on the male before her. But none the less, he did seem to have a point. If they followed the crack in the ground surely they'd come across a perfect crossing place. Perhaps she'd give the male his chance. She was a hunter, not something to be taken lightly, but her survival skills weren't exactly up to par with a warrior's skills. She hunted. Bottom line.

indentThen another scent and voice spoke that Frost had shown herself here. 'So, Frost and Reek have suddenly found Azkara. Intriguing.' Frost had an interesting habit of being sickly sweet with the omega. It was flustering to say the least, but Azkara knew better than to question the healer. "Azkara need no herding from a wolf who's no better than a dog, Frost, darling." The tawny gold female chuckled warmly to the healer and then looked at Reek with a low growl. Two females, one male, wasn't that just his lucky day. The wolf turned her face towards Frost, pointedly ignoring Reek's wooing as she blinked her eyes. "Azkara was finding a game plan. Have you ideas on how to get over this mess of cracks in the earth?" The female questioned readily, blinking her eyes. A healer and a hunter putting their minds together was better than one lowly omega and a hunter. "Believe I do that our minds are better than Azkara alone." She growled, pointedly saying Reek had no brains.
                                x
indentThe well groomed female looked at Reek then, trying to gauge his expression before the grumbles of the hungry earth spoke to her and she stepped closer to the pair who'd come and found her. "Perhaps we should follow the crack? We're all here anyways. Azkara is worried for Azazel and the pack." One could say Azkara felt her allegiance strongly to her alpha, even to say she had a small puppy crush on the superior male. He was intelligent and cold. A good pair of traits to be had. Ah well, it wasn't like he'd look at her, with her birth in the pack. But, she displayed her affections through undying loyalty. His command was her everything. Though, Azkara didn't see what was so special about mating; sure pups meant the pack's survival, but the mother who raised the pups would be forever raising pups. Azkara loved the wild too much, loved running and hunting.
                                x
indentTurning to look at the cracks now, the female frowned a little. It was much too large here to merely hop over. Unless perhaps they took a running jump? No. Too risky. They could very well break something doing that. The female huffed and looked at Frost expectantly for an answer.

As soon as the trio reached the bank, Caith was pulling Cerelia up by her scruff. She flicked her tail against him and he let go turning back to Azura and her brother. Azura was right behind Cerelia but Azuka was not. ”Azuka!” Caith howled. There was no response and Caith knew what had happened.

The Zeta approached his fellow warrior Azura. ”I am so sorry Azura. We... we must continue on.” He hadn't see the hunter go under but he wished he'd been paying more attention. Again, Caith was feeling at fault for a death only this time he didn't quite witness it. He nuzzled her once more making sure that she was going to be okay. He knew that she was very far from 'okay' she'd just witnessed her brother's death but she had to stay strong. They needed to find the pack.

Cerelia asked if it was safe enough to find shelter and Caith was about to answer. He looked at the fae but before he could say a word he heard his sister's call for help. Caith's fur rose down his back as he let a deadly snarl past his curling lips. ”Rulihn!” The Zeta suddenly forgot his charges and everything about what was going on. His paws were against the ground pushing him swiftly toward his sister.

He ran, he ran with everything he had until he found them. Rue was pinned down and Caith snarled viciously before plowing into the dark pelt. Caith knocked him away from his sister and realized then that this was the wolf who'd taken his sister's tail... the very same brute he'd faced before when Sioux attacked earlier in the year.

Caith buried his teeth into skin, ripping, pulling and snarling all the while. The black wolf fought back and Caith was knocked to the side. ”No!” he hissed as the black wolf went for his sister. Rue was knocked into the water and Caith wanted to go after her but the minute he moved, the dark wolf was on him again. However, Vetis' strength was starting to wane.

The Zeta saw something out of the corner of his eye and he quickly barked an order. ”Sev! Get Rue!” Caith went back to Vetis and the two fought again but this time it was short lived. Caith knocked Vetis into the rushing water and the Sioux wolf struggled for a moment before going under. He didn't resurface moving. The Zeta watched the body float away in the water before he turned back to what was going on.

Rue had been pulled to safety and Caith was suddenly feeling exhaustion. His adrenaline was starting to fail him. He had a deep gash across his chest along with a few deep marks in his soft underbelly from the ebony wolf's claws. Caith panted heavily before realizing that he needed to get to Rue and Sev. “You two head for shelter, I'm going to get Cerelia and Azura.” He stood carefully and limped toward where he'd left his group. He'd been so quick, he wasn't sure how far behind him he'd left them.

Caith could smell his fellow warriors before he could see them and it made his tail wag. He whined as his wounds gave him a little pain. "Are you two okay?" he called out. He wanted to make sure they were fine and then they'd look for shelter. Caith finally set eyes on the two when Goliath's voice rang out. There was so much pain, Caith could feel it in his song. He knew that Rue and Severide were behind him somewhere. He also knew that they could find shelter. His attention went to the Alpha.

The Zeta was unsure of how loud the Alpha's call was so he lifted his own nose and called out for any scouts in the area to rally to him. "We need to find shelter," Caith told his two warriors. "I want you two to see if you can find something for us. I'm going to wait for the scouts. I want a patrol done on whatever land we have left. Rue was attacked by Sioux scum and I have a feeling there might be more lurking around. I want to be sure." Right now, Caith had to take charge. They were separated from the Alpha and that meant that Caith had to do whatever he could to ensure the safety of the pack, that was his job as Zeta.

Caith waited a moment before lifting his head again. He called out to the scouts once more and then sat to relax and wait. The rain was still coming down and it was soaking his fur but the warrior paid no mind, he began to clean his wounds to the best of his ability. The pain wasn't too bad right now but he knew both he and Rue would need to see a healer soon.

It was serene feeling, being around Azazel. Even though she had lost young Faelyn, the alpha’s presence made the situation a little better. None of the pack was around to interrupt their alone time, and it was the perfect time to pry into the alpha’s mind and see what exactly he may have thought of her becoming his mate. The last time that they had spent time together, Sayen had made it genuinely clear on what were her intentions exactly. The brute, on the other hand never commented on the matter, and she was curious as to what he thought.

The fae tossed around the thought of being Sioux’s alpha, in her mind, a few times now. It wasn’t much of a secret that she and Azazel had some sort of close relationship that did not seem to be shared among the rest of the pack. A close bond if you will. Therefore, if she did manage to win the brute’s heart, it most likely would not be much of a surprise to anyone. Naturally, she did bump heads with a few of the other pack members, which could be prove to somewhat of a problem in the near future. But when it came to the respect that she thought she deserved, she wasn’t a fae to settle for anything less. In fact, becoming alphaess, could be a bit pleasurable, especially if it meant that she was going to be able to physically assert herself over anyone with lesser rank. It wasn’t that she was going to abuse her power it just meant she wasn’t going to be taking any bullshit from anyone. But, that was something to worry about later if the time came.

Blood still lay coated on her muzzle, staining her lips like a crimson liquid lipstick. Her orbs never left the brute as he dug into the heart that she had provided for him. Something about the alpha’s demeanor, the way he asserted himself and the way he lusted over blood and the death of other wolves sent a glorified chill down the fae’s spine. It was traits like those, that lay in Azazel, that drew her to him like a moth to a flame. In recent months, that pull, his fire, has grown stronger with his slight obsession with trying to take out Uktena and it’s caused her to be helplessly attracted to him. Perhaps, it was simply the season upon them.. or at least that is what she planned to blame it on, for now. When the brute complimented her on the kill she had made and basically thanked her, she moved closer to him. Quietly, her own tongue slipped out from her mouth, licking the extra blood from his muzzle. It was an affectionate gesture, it felt odd. It was very different but it soothed the feeling of uncertainly that she felt within her heart.

Suddenly, the fae’s auds perked in the direction of what sounded like more wolves approaching. Silently, her hackles began to raise, but was soon flattened when she noticed Azazel taking a protective step in front of her.. or so it seemed. When he moved away just as quickly as he approached her, Sayen could now see that it was none other than their own pack mate, Akela. Sayen growled lowly, immediately unimpressed by the fae’s presence who also seemed to have brought their alpha a gift. The warrior remained silent as the two exchanged words and soon it ended in Azazel taking the life of some other wolf. What the brute said next surprised her, however. At first, she was a bit overzealous, but immediately after that feeling died down as she further took in what he had to say. Azazel was indeed looking for a mate, and she had managed to make the cut, however, she was not the only one. Akela had also been on Azazel’s radar. It felt like a mix between the warmth of snuggling close to someone and having a painful bite to the rear end. For a moment, she had thought that maybe, perhaps, she meant something to the brute and that she was the only one who had meant something, anything, to him. Clearly, she had been wrong.

A strong sense of animosity swelled into the heart of the fae. Emerald orbs bore grudgingly into the fae, mentally going on various ways to end her right then and there. Jealously and anger was pumping through her veins, though she knew she had to keep control of herself. However, Azazel was right, there would be time later for the pair to settle the score. For now, she’d play it cool.

The warrioress followed after the brute, keeping some sort of space between the pair. She remained quiet, unwillingly allowing her thoughts to run free as she idly allowed herself to be led by the alpha. Already they were looking for more members of their pack. Just then, she remembered the one wolf that she had been looking for in the first place, Faelyn. Where the ******** did she go? If she was alive, she was going to kill her. Hell, even she was dead, she was going to kill her for running of like that.

He followed after her still, the rain having already drenched him to the bone, he figured there was nothing else that could come from this situation if he were to leave to female's side. They had made quite some distance between themselves and the old wolf's limp body, surely others had passed him by now, wondering what had happened to the dark brute. Bastyn couldn't help but chuckle, amused by the thought of some other animal scavenging the meat from his feeble bones. The white hunter almost felt bad for whatever animal got to do this, for the old wolf had never seemed to be the appetizing type. Too aged to be anything other than tough and chewy. Turning his attention back to the female he tilted his head at her comment about his sister. Truth be told, he hadn't seen her much either, but he was sure he couldn't say that. In Sioux a wolf that you couldn't keep track of, was normally a wolf that was sneaking around doing less than loyal things. Instead he continued to follow the healer, occasionally brushing against her playfully, nothing completely over stepping boundaries as far as he was concerned.

"Find shelter? Oh come on. I was thinking we could find some pathetic Uktena wolves and throw them in the rising water. I wonder if they can swim without paws." He eyed her curiously, wondering how she would take his idea. Of course the idea itself was great, but it had been a joke, he knew she was right, they needed to find shelter or risk being swept off of their own feet. Bastyn waited outside of the den Storm had found, keeping an eye out for anything that may come rushing back for it's home while the fae checked the inside. "What a shame, it would have been lovely to test that grizzly bear theory from earlier." He snapped his jaws at her playfully and laughed, making his way into the den and out of the rain.

He walked in circles a few times, mostly in an attempt to run out unwanted energy than anything else, before sitting down, his eyes falling easily on the beautiful fae in his company. He tilted his head once more, his pointed ears relaxed so they drooped just slightly to the side. He looked like a gigantic puppy like this. "If you look at me like that much longer, I may have to chew off your ear. Or lick you. But I'll let you pick." His comment was coated in sarcasm, no underlying tones of a threat at all. "Don't get your hopes up though, I'd really prefer the ear." He stretched out, laying his head on his front paws, his eyes never once leaving Storm. He wasn't quite sure, but he felt the need to always be on guard with this one, and that was one of the things he liked the most about her. Predictable faes were over-rated and a far cry from interesting enough to spend any real amount of time with.

Devero snorted quietly when Zheana disregarded his question. He didn't know her well and now was not the time for idle prattle. They could discuss things at a later date, once the pack was united and the injured tended to. His gaze shifted back to Goliath as he waited for the brutes command. After the shock had waned, the brute seemed to come back to life, asking Devero to aid Zheana and to also carry the head, though he couldn't say the words. He nodded obediently and, as careful as though picking up a newborn pup, Devero took the head into his jaws, holding barely with his teeth. He tried to do so in a way that was not humiliating to the corpse, but with so little to grasp, it was hard to do. He then turned and offered his broad muscular side to Zheana, more than capable of holding her weight should she need him to. When Goliath began to howl, Devero perked his head and turned his ears around, trying to listen for any return calls. Eventually it came to an end and the sorrow wore heavily on them all. Things were easier once they started moving.

The pace was doubly slow given Zheanas wounds and the terrain of which they moving over. The mountains were unstable, some of the paths were narrow, and the earth was prone to shifts that could send a fleet footed wolf tumbling over the side. The whole while, Devero tried to ignore the fact that he held a wolfs head in his mouth. It wasn't as though he'd never done it before. His tattered and scarred hide betrayed a life heavily delved into misery and bloodshed, but this was a wolf he'd known. They had laughed together and shared a densite. The alphas sister. It was different and Devero was not okay with it. But he remained silent. When Zheana needed his help, he offered it without word, walking along the edge of the harder paths and giving her the easier ground.

Eventually they came to more level ground and Goliath barked. Devero could smell little past the head in his jaws, but he could hear the distant voices and assumed that had been the source of Goliaths bark. The brute followed, hanging back a few paw steps as Goliath greeted those there. He noted the pups and immediately shifted away, using the bodies of the others to try and keep the head out of the pups line of sight. After short pleasantries and introductions, Devero found a sheltered and somewhat hidden place to set the faes head. It would keep the pups from seeing it and, hopefully, keep the weather from haggaring it any further. He shook his coat out afterwards and scanned their chosen resting site. Zheana still needed to have her wounds seen to. Everyone was exhausted. What a day.

With a quiet huff of air, Devero padded toward Goliath and took a seat several yards to his right, offering support and taking up vigil as well. Between them both, few things would prove a threat to the small gathering of wolves.

Xira seemed grumpy and her cold response to his whimpering only caused him to stare. The fear was pushed away by a unsettling feeling of dread and he wasn't quite sure where it came from. But the way she looked at him, it was different then from the way it had been. At the chilling words his hair stood at edge, ears alert at the rushing of water all over them. Standing by a broken tree the pup said nothing in response, but his mind was clearly busy at it. Once the female moved he followed suit like the shadow he was, raised by a scout he moved much like one. For a long while he kept himself a few paces away from the so called mother of his. He felt at edge and nervous, but he made no complaints. He had been treated like a adult and so he would act as much as he could alike one.

A dangerous path laid ahead and Lukav could see it with his one good eye, sense it in the marrow of his bones. The thick trees and vegetation lessened more and more and became harsher as their neared the mountain higher. Rocks and mountain blended with the woods itself and Lukav stepped carefully, keeping an close eye on the river and it was then he spotted something dark.. Washed up against some debris by the mountainside, he stopped and made sure to remember where he had last seen and smelled Xira before moving down the path towards the area.

Slipping against rock he halted and eyes went wide. One eye was blind, but that hardly mattered as the image was quite clear. There was a large black wolf and he approached it tentatively. The familiar scent alarmed him and his chest was against his bones and throat as he brushed his nose carefully against the corpse. Nudging against the male shape of a wolf he already knew the signs of death.. He felt the lump in his throat, a mix of anger and sadness in his core. He sat back, defeated.

The howl that came from him seconds later was clearly devastating.. A wolf in mourning and pain as well as respect for his father whom was no gone. The male who had raised him all these months and done all he could possibly do. Vetis had perhaps never been his real father, but he had trained him, raised him and made him the wolf he is this day. His howl died out, echoing in the mountains as he let the pain simmer, narrow hues looking at the dead shape as he dragged the body further away from the stream so it would not be washed away again.

xxxxA s expected, Azkara was not to welcoming of his kindness. He rolled his eyes when she spoke of how she did not like seeing him near her. He scoffed, "Worry not dearie you are not my last resort when it comes to this pack..." he charmed, knowing it wasn't what she wanted to hear. The Omega spoke of protecting the hunter and she stated she'd be the one protecting him. A wide smile spread across his face, "I do feel honored to have you as my protector dear Azkara!" he cooed, ignoring her off wording and speaking of herself as though she were another wolf. She was talking to him and that was all that truly mattered in his reality. That being said he had a small inking that she felt that he was correct in some way, however that could just be his over sized ego talking.

xxxxT o Reek's surprise another wolf approached, a female who was actually nice to him. A female he truly adored and thought of as a true friend... not that anyone knew this about him, but she of course. Fresh blood was mixed in with her scent, he turned to see Frost covered in blood and his whip like tail started wagging instantly. "Just doing my duty dearest Frost." he spoke, puffing out his chest as though it were a joke they were sharing. The males eyes then narrowed and he moved closer, "Do tell me your juicy story my love!" he said, his eyes almost begging her to hear of whatever the hell she just did. "You reek of Uktena blood." he spoke, submissively licking her chin, selfishly gaining a taste of the fresh crimson colored liquid that had started to crust already. Azkara finally spoke, speaking of having no need to be herded, and continued stating she was simply coming up with a game plan.

xxxxG r o w l i n g lowly, he soon realized that the hunter's idea to follow the crack was none other than his own. And to top it off, even after she stated, twice may I add that Reek had no brains. "Aren't you clever Azkara, stealing the idea the brainless Omega propped up only moments before Frost's arrival." he sneered, looking away to rid of whatever emotion was beginning to brew. He prided himself on having little to no emotion but sometimes it got the better of him. Azkara then bitched about being worried of Azazel and the rest of the pack, he laughed. "The high and mighty Alpha will be fine, you worry to much over the invincible." he stated, "You know cause them hearts he's been eating makes him stronger." he stated, not making fun of the Alpha at all were someone may think he was he was completely serious. After all, if you eat a wolf's heart it's known to make you a stronger wolf. It's Sioux lore after all. You are better off not to questions it. Watching the other fae walk towards the edge he had half a mind to scare her but he thought that would be to dangerous for what if she fell in? Shaking his body as a wolf usually would to shake out their fur he then started following the crack, knowing that it was between them and high ground he needed to find a way out, help the ladies of course! After gaining about a yard ahead he noticed a tree hanging over the edge of the large crack. It's roots were exposed and it wasn't quite touching the the other side but the jump wasn't harboring. "Hey ladies, over here!" he called, knowing they weren't to far behind. "This oughta work no?" he rhetorically asked, and if one were to answer he'd probably turn to Frost for it was her opinion he cared about since Azkara clearly had no ideas of her own and attempted to steal his from right under his nose.

indentListening to his momentary crooning to her, she felt a little disgruntled. Mainly because it was so foreign, but apart of her was intrigued by his words. Of course, the way Reek began to turn so favorably towards the healer caused a fleeting tingle of jealousy to increase within the female. Her ear twitching a little, the fae shook it off with a snort as she began to follow the male, pointedly ignoring his jab at her mental resourcefulness. 'Drats, Azkara fears she's made a disapproving mistake.' She admitted to herself as she followed along, allowing the male his lead.

indentAzkara was merely a hunter, she would never take the lead, though inwardly she wanted to, if only to put Reek down a notch. A lowly omega leading members of the pack. It was so unnatural to the female's world. Though he'd already scorned her enough for one day, and she did not desire future embarrassment. The tawny creature sighed inwardly and lowered her head to shoot the male an intrigued glance. 'Perhaps Azkara underestimated Reek.' Azkara grudgingly admitted, her ears twitching steadily atop her head. Not the best of thoughts to be having. But as the male called to the females to see what he'd found she lifted her head and cocked it.

Reek was not as horrid as his smell, or name, would imply. And that calculating way he went about things made her c**k her head in wonder. Taking a peek towards Frost, Azkara begun to be concerned with the both of them. A healer and an omega, but they seemed to be putting her at a mental disadvantage. 'Of course, Azkara is lucky to be a member of the pack, death should be Azkara's life, but, Azkara is a good member. If not smart.' She thought with another huff But, the young female did not want to continue worrying over this problem. Reek's words did not soothe her worries for the pack and the Alpha. 'Azkara just wants Azkara's pack to thrive. Not suffer.'

Flicking her tail she sniffed the air, high ground was on the other side, and perhaps a place they could finally get dry in. Azkara looked at her muddy paws and shook her head, she wanted to groom. Taking a glance at the cool Frost she dipped her head, "It looks safe enough." She whispered, mainly for herself. Glancing at Reek she allowed a rare smile to show on her maw. He'd done a good job, she couldn't deny that with any certainty.

Frost may openly show what little affection was possible for the omega, but there was not a way in the world that Azkara would be capable of doing the same thing. The tawny creature sat down on her rump, staring towards the land on the other side, just because it looked secure, did not mean that it was. She would wait for further commands before going through with jumping over.

Aven was pleased when Zheanna didn’t question her taking control of the situation. After all, the fae wouldn’t know she was Alphaess yet. Still, Zheanna answered her questions, and the answers made Aven’s hackles rise and her ears flatten. Zhea said that the wolves took her and tortured her… And then… Jupiter… Aven cast a glance towards her mate. As Zheanna said the name Talon, Aven’s ears perked, and she tucked that away in her mind for future use. Suddenly Goliath’s voice boomed out, and her ears flattened again. His voice was harsh and Aven blinked, startled. He continued, telling Devero to help Zheanna and to bring Jupiter’s… Remains… She felt a sad whine in her chest but kept it to herself. When Goliath looked to her she saw the sorrow, and the need for revenge buried deep in them. She watched as he tilted his head back to howl to their pack. As it faltered, beginning to sound only of sorrow and pain, she moved to him and buried her muzzle in his neck. However he pushed forward. She moved back towards Zheanna and Devero. “Come on you two, we’ll try and find someone to help. Hopefully we’ll come across Sirona or Rorin

The group headed out, their pace slow due to Zheanna’s injuries. Aven stayed close to Goliath, but tried not to crowd him too much. She was startled when he stopped suddenly, but after a moment she heard the same as he did, voices close by. The group followed him as he lead the way towards them, and when they finally came across the source of the voices, relief bloomed in Aven’s chest to see Sirona, Rorin, and little Wynter, all safe together. Goliath said a few words then stated that they would rest now and continue in the morning. Aven nodded then moved to Rorin, giving him a friendly nudge. “Glad to see you’re alright, Rorin. Could you and Sirona see to Zheanna right away? She’s… She’s been through… Well… You can imagine. I know you won’t have many supplies, but whatever you can do… And… If there’s anything you can do to help Goliath get some rest…” She looked to her mate then gave a small sigh. He was sitting in the weakest spot of their little area, preparing to guard them.

She watched as Devero padded over and sat down beside Goliath. She then looked to Sirona, who seemed to be protecting the small pup from the sight of Jupiter. Aven winced, then padded over to the healer fae. “I can look after her, if you’d like? Zheanna’s in pretty bad shape, she needs you and Rorin right now.” Aven could see how protective Sirona was of Wynter, and so waited respectively for the fae’s answer.

As Nev and Jah lay in the cave side by side, Faelyn sat closer to the entrance. Watching her father for only a few moments, she quickly turned her head, suppressing a snarl. He wouldn’t be fawning all over that stupid fae if he knew his daughter was there with him… At least she hoped so… After all… He did leave her in that fiery den… She sighed softly and stared out at the crappy weather. How she longed to just ruin this moment by revealing the truth. She could feel Jah’s eyes staring her down, and wondering if he’d begun to suspect anything yet. Fae didn’t know how much she resembled her mother, but she knew she had the scars from the fire that had to at least stick in his mind a little bit, right? Leaning her head down she began to lick her chest, trying to release some of the built up moisture.

Nev was content to just lie beside Jah. Already the fact that the novice was there was slipping from her mind. Turning to him for a moment, she noticed he was looking at the novice, before he closed his eyes. Moments later he turned his attention to her, his golden eyes looking into her own. His words then made her blink and, as she registered them, her tail wagged quickly. He didn’t say anything further, and given his content nature she was pretty sure that meant their Alpha had approved of them, meaning… They were officially mates, in the pack’s eyes. No more worrying about it… Not that she had spent a lot of time worrying but still. It was nice to know. She gave his ear a swift lick before resting her head on her paws.

Suddenly Faelyn heard something through the rain, voices or something, and she growled, scurrying backwards into the cave. Not looking where she was going, she almost plowed right into Nev and Jah. Nev growled and snapped at the novies paws, causing her to jump to the side. “I heard something,” she grumbled. Moments later she was proved right when two forms entered the cave. Nev quickly recognized Storm and Bastyn and gave a small harrumph. She watched silently as Storm sat down and Bastyn pranced around before sitting down as well. He spoke a few words, and then the two fell silent for a moment. Nev noticed that Bastyn’s eyes never strayed from the healer fae.

The novice with them suddenly spoke up, baring her fangs slightly. “Hey, this is our cave! Find your own shelter!” Nev snorted. The stupid thing looked about as threatening as a dove. “Shut up you daft pup. Don’t you recognize your own pack mates?” She made herself sit up, though her limbs felt heavy and tired from the run to find shelter and the weather itself. “Storm, Bastyn. You’re alright then.” There was no concern or question in her voice. Just stating the fact. She looked to Jah, trying to judge his reaction to their pack mates.

Wynter continued to stay with her new mother, watching her and Rorin talk. She didn’t really understand what it was they were talking about, but she didn’t care. She was just happy to be with the two of them. She did have to scamper out of the way a bit to avoid Rorin’s paws when he moved in to nuzzle Iro. After a few more words, the fae began to walk and Wynter scurried after her, determined to keep up. After a small walk, Iro seemed to find what she was looking for. Wynter watched her begin making a nest, and then when the fae asked for her to take a nap, Wynter was about to protest, but as she opened her jaws a yawn came out. The little pup nodded and made her way over, curling into the makeshift nest. Iro laid down beside her, close enough for Wynter to curl again her for warmth, which was exactly what she did. Yawning again she closed her eyes.

She was almost fully asleep when a few urgent barks forced her eyes open. Lifting her head she looked at Iro quickly, scared for a moment. However, soon their Alpha walked into view and Wynter wagged her tail, about to jump to her paws. She was always excited to see Goliath, and being as young as she was she wouldn’t recognize the grief that weighed him down. Before she could do anything though, Iro was blocking her view and her way. She gave a small whine in protest, but Iro spoke to her, telling her to rest. Wynter gave a small sigh then lay back down. Perhaps she could go see Goliath once she had rested then. Closing her eyes, she waited for sleep to take over. She did perk her ears when she heard Aven’s soft voice, offering to look after her. She didn’t really understand the other words, and she didn’t know who Zheanna was, so she tuned her out, and, with another yawn, began to drift off.

Hidden In Sioux

Drowning in the violent current of the overfilled stream, Saida was panicking. Her rock plan had not played out as her paws had slipped on its slick surface and she had ended up back in the water. Her trashing about was not helping her in the slightest, and she was about to slide under the surface when suddenly jaws gripped her scruff and began to drag her towards shore. Once dry land was under her, she struggled to get away from the water with the help of her rescuer. Once she was safely away from the stream, she finally looked to the wolf. Relief filled her when she realized it was Sideris. He was scenting her anxiously, making sure she was all right. At his words she nodded. “Yes, let’s go.” They raced towards their meeting spot, but Saida was shattered to see that the rocks were broken, their meeting place destroyed. Again, her thoughts strayed to her earlier fears, was nature itself condemning her decision to meet with this wolf?

He didn’t let her keep to her thoughts much longer though, urging her to keep going. Saida nodded, not wanting to stay out in the open any longer. She was soaked to the bone and then some, and at any moment trees could crush them… Finally they found a sheltered rock formation. Sid allowed her to go in first, following her quickly. He began licking her fur, trying to dry it off, and then asked if she was okay. Saida nodded slowly. “Yes… I’m okay. Just shaken. Thank you for saving me Sid… I… I don’t know what would have happened if you hadn’t of been there.” She leaned into him, nuzzling him.

A little while later, Saida was mostly dry. She was lying down, trying not to drift off. Something was still bothering her. Looking up at Sid, she watched him for a few moments before speaking. “Do you… Do you think that this is happening because we’re… Going again our packs? I mean… I feel like… Nature itself is against us.” She paused, afraid that he was going to think she was being ridiculous. “The rain started the day we were first going to meet, didn’t it? Don’t you think it could make sense?” She gave a small whine. “I’m all confused and torn up inside… I hate going behind my brother’s back… The pack I could care less… I hate it there and I hate those wolves… I’m not one of them… But my brother… He’s always been there for me; he’s made it so I can survive. I wouldn’t be alive without him! How can I be doing this to him?” She dropped her head, covering her muzzle with her paws.

Saida waited for Sid’s response, staying quiet. Her heart was filled with anguish though and she just wanted to howl to the sky, asking for an answer. What should she do? Should she keep meeting with Sideris? Where would that lead? She couldn’t deny to connection she felt to this wolf, but she was Sioux and he was Uktena. Of course it was forbidden! She couldn’t ever really be with him unless she left Sioux… Would she ever do that? Bastyn could not go to Uktena… He was Sioux through and through. Could she really abandon her brother?
