As I was growing up I always thought that having the ability to buy my own food was a blessing in itself but it's not a thing for everyone. Especially those that didn’t have much, which was me when I was young. My family lived a very humble lifestyle so we didn’t have much to get premade food with and I grew up on foraging and making use of the resources around me and my family. When I wanted to have fish I took a fishing rod and went fishing because we lived so close to the ocean. Something about fishing for your own food was oddly satisfying but through this I learned to descale and clean a fish before it was cooked. But, as I grew I found that fish was not enough protein for me, so I decided to fasten a makeshift bow and arrow out of what was around me and used that to hunt for animals for their meat. It was also oddly satisfying, but that does that mean I enjoy killing innocent animals, not it does not but it was humble and simple living, I found as time went out my skills in archery were improving and I was passionate about it. Now, I do archery for both feeding myself and as a hobby. I still do fish and I do find ways to get resources that I cannot find from old fashioned ways of hunting and fishing. Especially when they are specialized ingredients.
As I grew, I found myself more and more passionate about shooting a bow and arrow and it helped build my arm muscles, so it wasn’t a complete waste. It was a skill I mostly enjoyed doing just for fun or just for target practice at shooting at targets at a distance. In retrospect I prefer to keep a distance then be up close and personal. It's just something about a bow and arrow interests me more than anything else. So I decided at this point in my life that I want to become an archer and I enjoy making my own bow and arrow as well so its more or less customized to my size and height.

Akiliano was out on a casual stroll around Tendaji, as he strolled around he had heard through the grapevine and through rumors that there was a local tournament for archers in three weeks time for whoever wanted to compete and wanted to show their skills off, he had thought about it for a couple days and had decided that he would participate in it, although it would cut into hanging out with Akea, his best friend but he had promised her that he would work hard and once the tournament was over he would dedicate all his time to her. At the same time he wanted to prove to Akea that he had skills and secretly wanted to impress her. At the moment Akea was his best friend and he would do anything to keep her safe. So he had ventured off to find a place where he would do some hard core training for the said tournament, it would take a lot of dedication, commitment and discipline to reach the level that he felt most comfortable having during the tournament. He had woken up at the crack of dawn to get an early start on his training, he figured if he started earlier in the day he would be able to double his efforts to increase his skills. As each training day passed he had started to feel his skill grow from what he had started with, to be honest his skill with a bow and arrow was pretty basic and it was just mostly aiming and shooting at a unmoving target but as he trained he started to develop skills to shoot any moving target with some succession, truth be told at the very beginning of training himself to shoot at a moving target he did miss quite a few times but as each day passed the skills to shoot at a moving target increased significantly. Now he was more focussed on using the wind as an advantage to him and learning some trick shots that would surprise a target, now that took more dedication and time. Now that he had shifted his focus to learning some secret trick shots and using the wind to his advantage his skill level had dramatically increased in a way that would help him become the best archer he could. Some skills in had gained he had to teach himself with consistence and since he had not brought rations for his hardcore training session he had to hunt for his meals which benefitted him because it gave him an excuse to use the new skills he had acquired from his training sessions. As the three weeks he had given himself to achieve a skill level that he was comfortable with, he had gained some muscle in his arms and his legs, now he was built but not over built, it was a build that he was happy with. On the last day of his training session he had decided to take a breather and reflect on his vast improvement from when he started at the beginning to now, he was quite proud of himself. He stood up and stretched before pushing his bow to his back. He blinked and smiled at himself and ran a hand through his hair. Now it was time to take on the others at the tournament. He jumped off his perch and stretched once more before he ventured to where the Tendaji Tournament was being held. A few days after venturing back from his secluded escape he had finally arrived at the tournament, he took a deep breath and reassured himself that he had got this and made his way to the check in. After checking in with the host of the event he made his way to the competition stage and was ready to get started. But, it seemed like they had to wait a few more extra seconds for last minute competitors and once they had signed in the host of the tournament declared the tournament open. As the tournament went on he had done well in all of the rounds; still at the end of it he had ended up with second place but he was satisfied and content with that result.
I wanted him to experience being in a tournament that allowed others of the same specialization to show him that there were others who would dedicate everything and anything to becoming number 1 and ignore everything else to reach that self-satisfaction, and that if you put your mind towards something and believe in yourself you can achieve greatness.
