User ImageName: Guinevere Evans

Nicknames: Guen

Gender: Female

Age: 15 17 now orz 19 20

Height: 5'6"

Birthday: August 30th

Sign: Virgo

Gemstone: Peridot

Blood Type: AB+

School/Job: Crystal Academy for Girls - Her parents are 'old money', and her mother was formerly a student at this school, and insisted her daughter follow in her footsteps.

Fav. Food: Curry, lamb, asparagus. Odd, but usually not picky about her food.

Hated Food: Turnips, onions, and wild game.

Hobbies:

Soccer: There's just something about kicking things that appeals to this girl. Ever since she was old enough to knock a ball around, she's casually played - usually not in her own yard. Sports weren't ladylike enough, especially sports that involved running around and trying to propel things into goals. Unfortunately, Crystal Academy's sports teams are just awful. Guen tried out her first year and got on, but without any real interest behind it, they fell apart in the beginning of the season. She still plays on the weekends, at the park near her dad's house downtown. The kids there are a little rough around the edges - mostly Hillsworth boys and St. Magdalena's girls, in that part of town. Guen isn't biased, though - as long as you can kick a ball, she'll play.

Retro Collector: Guen loves retro gear, and is known for perusing garage sales to add to her junkpile she calls a collection. It all started when her grandmother gave her a trunk full of her old outfits when she was a child. Guen treasures this memory, and started picking up things here and there after she rediscovered the boxes in the attic when her dad was moving. She keeps the stuff at his place now- her mother couldn't stand what she called her 'secondhand wardrobe'. She mostly collects accessories- necklaces, handbags, shoes- but does have a few coats and a dress or two. There's just something about the pin up-esque clothing style that calls to her inner girly-girl. While the bulk of her collection comes from garage sales and the like, a few things she has were, um, borrowed. Yeah. Permanently. She generally doesn't wear the stuff- in public anyway - half because she's worried she might ruin it, and half because she feels it's too private.

Chessy - Not exactly a hobby, Guen's best friend in the world is a mangy old tom cat she calls Chessy. She found him in the back lot dumpster of her dad's new apartment, chewing on an old chess set box - out of hunger, presumably. She's been feeding him, and will sometimes let him into her room when her dad's not looking- but at night he demands to be let out via the window so he can roam his territory. She's been tempted to follow him a couple of times, but has so far resisted the urge. 2am strolls in downtown is just a little too much, even for her.

Big Band Music - In the same way that she's into retro gear, Guen loves old school big band music. A little swing, maybe even some jazz, but her favorite is old show tunes. She has a ton of VHS tapes, records, you name it. Her MP3 player is filled with both old and new BB genre stuff- she likes to put it on while she's out on the town. It helps drown out her own worries, and makes everything else seem so picaresque.

Negaverse Alias: LieutenantCaptain Gypsum

Challenge: "HEEL!" or or or. "Let's step it up!" "Step off."

Uniform:

Top -- Short, peacock style military coat. Full sleeves, thin, with puffy shoulders to give the jacket a more girly silohuette.
Bottoms -- Army green tights, with holes in them.
Gloves -- see pic c:
Belt -- The sash for her military jacket-suit thing.
Shoes -- PUMPS
Shoulders -- none
Accessories -- what kind?

Weapon --

Starts out as a pair of old red pumps. Yeah, classic pumps, 1950's style. Guen got them from a garage sale in her dad's neighborhood. They're the crowing glory of her retro gear collection she keeps in her room over there. They're smelly and the heel's nearly worn out, but that just adds to the character, right?

Her inner diva comes out later though, as they evolve into bladed heels. Think spike heel meets soccer spike meets pocketknife. Of course, she's limited to using this against things she can kick. It's really a close range weapon, and she needs to have sure footing or she's just going to end up flat on her a**.

Finally, they become wickedly spiked heels, with blades running along the top of the foot and the back of the heel. YEAH! She's got a greater range of melee attacks she can use with these- she can even do a trusty soccer kick right to the...Unmentionables.

Main Color: Tan

Secondary Color: Army Green

Why the Negaverse? Guen is searching for purpose, and searching for someplace to belong. She doesn't think she's special enough or deserving enough to be a good citizen. There's a monster inside her, eating it's wait out- but it's also giving her purpose, and slowly, she's letting it in. Besides, she feels like the Negaverse at least doesn't pretend to be something it's not, and therefore can't disappoint her.

Virtues:

Wholly Humble - Guen has always been a modest girl. She's not pathetic about it, she just isn't one to boast. She knows her strengths and limits, and doesn't feel the need to prove anything. This infuriates her mother, who is extremely competitive. Guen really just seems to take after her father in this aspect - he, too, has always been very understated in his abilities. This also leads her to usually be very obedient - reverential, even. With others she is generally polite and submissive, which makes her generally well-liked. Her behavior borders on the subservient- which works for her, usually.

Impartiality is my Specialty - If you're looking for someone who can see both sides of a situation, Guen is your girl. Her evenhandedness keeps her from getting into fights with others, and helps to settle arguments. Others will sometimes come to her with their problems for an outside perspective. Her objectiveness stems from something deeper than just agreeability, however. She often feels detached, indifferent- but she tries to hide it. Her lack of bias is something that teachers and peers might appreciate, but sometimes it's a little distancing. In high stress situations, though, it's great - she's unlikely to take extra offense at something said or done in the heat of the moment, and will try to help others see reason as well.

Co-Operating Cooperatively - Guen is very non confrontational. She doesn't take sides in debates, and she doesn't start arguments. She also tends to be fairly submissive, deferring to the opinions others before her own. It's been the only way to survive with her overly aggressive mother, after all. She does well in groups, and usually acts as the mediator. She is comfortable being the glue that makes a diverse array of people able to operate smoothly. Guen is at ease in the presence of most people, and takes orders well. It made her a good team player on the soccer team- not that little bit could have saved it- but it also makes her invaluable in class projects.

Flaws:

High Rollin' - Guen likes to take chances. Sometimes, to a degree that is downright stupid. Does she take the shop-lined sidewalk to get home from school, or the shady looking alley shortcuts? Do you need to ask? While she doesn't have the perfect home life, she's always been provided for, and sometimes that little extra thrill is all that gets her through the day. Some might call it adventurous, others call it foolhardy. She doesn't have a gambling problem per se (her school would expel her for that kind of behavior) but she's got the foundation. This extends beyond bad decisions - recently, she's taken up shoplifting. Minor stuff, like pocketing things in the local flea market or gas station. It's getting to the point where it's starting to seriously affect her daily life. The appeal is partly the adrenaline rush, and partly just her lack of control in other areas of her life. At first, she liked it- her mom would absolutely freak when she found out she'd gone walking into some of the shadier parts of town, and that was strangely satisfying, but - it's gone beyond that now. It is incredibly scary for her, and she tries to hide it- deep down inside, she wonders if she's turning into some kind of monster.

At Least I'll Never Be Disappointed - For someone so modest and indifferent, Guen is quite a defeatist. Her ability to be so moderate comes from low expectations. She doesn't necessarily immediately expect the worst of people, but she doesn't expect the best either. Sometimes, it makes it difficult to be around her- she can be surprisingly terse and gloomy, once you get past her agreeable exterior. The minute something even minutely disappoints her, she discounts it. Lately, a lot of things in her life have fell through - her grandmother, and best friend, passed away, and her parents split - and she got stuck with her pushy and over-expecting mother. She tends to give up if there's a chance of failure on the horizon - as often on people as on other things. It makes it hard for her to keep close friends, as she's constantly waiting for them to disappoint her.

I'm Outta Control - Guen's modest, follow-the-leader behavior isn't always a positive thing. She obeys and listens to others, but in doing so relinquishes control of her decisions. Partly she does it because she's honestly not sure what she wants to do with herself - she has no long term goals, besides attempting to be 'good' and meet other's expectations, and it's beginning to really drag her down subconsciously. She's never had to work hard for anything - she's moderately talented both physically and academically, so school doesn't pose a huge challenge. Her mother inherited the family fortune, so she's always been provided what she's needed to succeed. While she does have hobbies and interests, she's never felt the need to explore them professionally. Guen feels like she's the only one in her class that doesn't know what she wants to 'grow up' to be- and growing up really is on the horizon for all of them. Lately, this dissatisfaction and lack of control has been manifesting itself in the form of high risk behavior that has a near destructive edge. It's a self-sustaining cycle, though - the more she indulges in that kind of behavior, the more guilty she feels. In turn, she allows others to dictate her behavior - because she doesn't trust herself.

Home

The family used to live with their maternal grandmother in her fairly large plantation-style home. However, her parents recently separated. Guen spends most of her time unwillingly with her mother, but is allowed to visit her father on days when school isn't in session, in his small apartment across town.

Mother

Name: Gabrielle Wellsworth Evans

Age: Late thirties.

Occupation: Housewife. Head of the Ladies' Badminton Guild (she's got a mean backhand)

Relationship with Guen: Guen's mother is flabbergasted and somewhat disppointed by her daughter. Her expectations are unfair, and a little unrealistic - something she'd never admit to herself. She wanted her daughter to be head cheerleader, star of the drama program, first chair in the band - you get the idea. Guen often finds herself fueling her mother's ire inadvertently through her total lack of enthusiasm.

I'd compare her to Lizzie's mother in Pride and Prejudice. She's not trying to be cruel, she simply does not understand her daughter.

Father

Name: William Frederick Evans

Age: Late forties.

Occupation: Head Chef, restaurant owner, and all around do it yourself-er.

Relationship with Guen: Before the divorce, he was often the glue that keeps the family together. He kept his wife's mother off her back, and his wife off his daughter's. He's easygoing and kind, and is Guen's hero. She looks up to him because they have a lot in common, but he's dealt with his inner demons and is more than happy to give his daughter sage advice, and sometimes just a pat on the back. Lately, though, that pat on the back hasn't been enough. Guen feels that by divorcing her mom, he's abandoned her- fed her to the sharks, if you will. This has put some distance between them, and fueled her disappointment.

Guen stays with him on the weekends, enduring her mother for the weekdays.

Grandmother

Name: Margaret May Wellsworth

Age: Deceased.

Occupation: Retired; was married to a well-off entrepreneur.

Relationship with Guen: Grandma Wellsworth was Guen's best friend. While she was laid back and patient with Guen, she was otherwise prone to being rude as hell- she claimed she'd been saving up all the good insults for when she could feign senility. She used to help Guen with her homework, or talk to her about her problems. Her grandmother was often openly disappointed with how pushy her daughter - Guen's mother - could be, informing her that the woman needed to let Guen be herself, and be happy for her.

One day though, last year, she had to be rushed to the hospital because of a series of strokes. There, she passed away quietly, having never come to. Unfairly, Guen also feels like this was a kind of abandonment as well- and hates herself for being so selfish and indignant.
