[ Toddler: ] Indigo is a friendly child. She shows a little fear of separation from Jenner, but otherwise tends to be open and extroverted, even with strange children. There is very little she doesn't like, beyond being itchy and some kinds of fruit. She loves bright colors, chocolate-covered crickets, and playing "airplane" with her mommy. Her favorite toy is a brightly colored stuffed squid Jenner bought for her; her favorite playmate at home is Jesse the red Bitzer, since her favorite color is red.
Abilities: Can spit "glue" from two modified salivary glands in her mouth; proteolytic, hemolytic, alkaline saliva gives her a very painful bite; doesn't require her mouth or nose to breathe due to tracheae in her skin (unlike true onychophorans, these can be closed, so she doesn't dessicate in arid environments); excellent chemosensitivity and tactile senses with her antennae; good climber.

[ previous statements available here ][ Perapatoides novaezealandiae ]Description: Peripatoides novaezealandiae has 16 pairs of legs with hooks at the end, two robust feelers, and is velvety in appearance and comes in colours of blue, green, grey and brown; and may reach 80 mm in length.
Occurrence: Never abundant but "not uncommon" at Titirangi, near Auckland (Gill 199 cool .
Habitat: The Peripatus preys on small arthropods by squirting and entrapping them in a glue fired from openings beside the mouth. It then injects saliva into the prey, dissolving the inner contents, and thus enabling the Peripatus to suck them out. Peripatus live in damp areas such as under moss, in rotting logs, behind the bark of trees, and in leaf litter.[1]
Summary: Perapatoides novaezealandae is an ovoviviparous member of phylum Onychophora, ranging between 5mm and 120mm in length. It is an invertebrate and a coelomate, with a hemocoel and hydrostatic skeleton; it is insectivorous, prefers damp habitats to avoid dessication, and native to the island of New Zealand. Individuals can be green, brown, gray, or dark blue with orange spots, having two antennae, two eyes, fifteen pairs of legs, distal papillae, and a thin, flexible cuticle composed of alpha-keratin. Like arthropods, they must shed their cuticle to grow; unlike arthropods, they are not segmented and no known members of the phyla are aquatic.[ Timeline of Events: ]

[ 20 January 2006 ] : Another playdate, this one with Ms. Millner's Anoki. While Anoki and Indigo really hit it off, Jenner seems to go out of her way to irritate Ms. Millner.
[ 04 February 2006 ] : Indigo visits the Incubation Facility to see her egg. Jenner is very pleased to discover that her baby's been paired up with a copper dragon--the jokesters of dragonkind.
[ 15 February 2006 ] : Mr. Orpheus sends the children on a treasure hunt in his classroom, to develop their unique abilities!
[ 01 March 2006 ] : Indigo meets Earako, or so she tells it.
[ 04 March 2006 ] : Jenner goes out for lunch with her son Ambrus; meanwhile, Indigo babysits Ambrus's child, Ameretat. Or perhaps that's the other way around...
[ 18 March 2006 ] : Indigo catches a bad cold. The results are a mild catastrophe. (We suspect it might have been from her earlier and somewhat fateful walk in the woods with Anoki, Sahra, and Gabby.)
[ 20 March 2006 ] : In preparation for the hatching of Indigo's egg, she's given another form to fill out. Jenner starts her reading books on dragons to help quell Indigo's bad case of the butterflies.
[ 24 March 2006 ] : Jenner purchases a new Bitzer egg--this one a female--to keep Jesse and Prancer company...
[ 25 March 2006 ] : Indigo's egg hatches! The new wyrmling moves in with the family, and is immediately adopted by Jenner as another daughter.
[ 27 March 2006 ] : And the new Bitzer egg hatches! Hebrides joins the family.
[ 02 April 2006 ] : Indigo and Citrine head down to the pool to go for a swim, running into Sahra and her wyrmling Ephrem, as well as Keanu and Vivina.
[ 09 April 2006 ] : Indigo and Citrine are invited over to join the other preteens and their dragons at Keanu's house. Somehow they manage not to completely destroy the place!
[ 17 April 2006 ] : Jesse and Hebrides, who have been cautiously flirting since Hebrides grew into her full stature, announce their first clutch of two lovely eggs! heart Love is in the air.

Species: Copper dragon.
Physical Appearance: "Citrine" stands no higher at the shoulder than a large St. Bernard. She is a medium copper all over, with the well-developed horns and headfrills of her race of dragons, and strong plates of scale on her underbelly, tail, and head. Her eyes are the color of molten copper and are distinctly reptilian in shape. A brighter shade of orange spots the edges of her wings, which are batlike and broad enough to carry her in flight when she's ready.

Species: Faceless demon.
Physical Appearance: In her usual form, Jenner resembles a human woman of around twenty-four years of age. She stands 5'8" high, with an athletic build gone slightly to paunch from disuse. Her crimson hair is worn in a military burr at the front and on the sides; long and kept in a braid in back. Her eyes are cerulean blue. Unlike most redheads, she sports a modest tan along with a crop of freckles across her nose and on her forearms. She has a large port-wine birthmark at the small of her back. Even if she should shift forms, she retains the brilliant crimson hair/fur/plumage and blue eyes. Usual forms are that of a small house mouse, Mus musculus, a red hen, and a small red dragon.
Personality: [Tizzy's note: This was taken from a criminal profile of Jenner and it's not all that accurate.] Jenner walks the delicate line between sloth and hyperactivity. She is generally a lazy person, prefering that others do things for her; has a crude mouth and a coarse temper that she isn't afraid to inflict on others. The only things she appears to like are booze, comic books, and her kids, not necessarily in that order. She is, however, loyal--probably her one true virtue unadulterated by her large number of vices.
Abilities: Shapeshifting, limited ability to create things ex nihilo, natural polyglot, demon empathy.

[ Ambrus ]
Ambrus Preston is the younger of Jenner's twin sons. He is handsome, as humans reckon such things, though a life lived as a contract killer has left him covered in scars. Several years ago, he made an Odin's bargain with another creature of power, losing the sight in his left eye in return for the gift of foresight and knowledge. (Jenner wasn't pleased with this at all, but she and Ambrus haven't been on speaking terms for a while--Coronaviridae has had to play intermediate between them.)
He lives alone and has no intention of settling down with anyone or anything, male, female, or otherwise. He also has a voice that could charm the birds from the skies, should he use it; it makes him a very dangerous man to cross.
With Ambrus becoming "Author" of the Tall Tale Ameretat, Jenner and Cee's tenuous link to him apparently--snapped. Now neither of them are talking to him, and Jenner seems upset whenever the subject is brought up. On the other hand, she's also suggested that Indigo and the new child meet at some point; so perhaps she's willing to work toward a resolution.
This willingness changed when the Boundless Anahita came to live with Ambrus. Between this and Nexeu's acquisition of Haurvatat--or maybe that's the other way around!--Cee has declared both of them dead to her. Jenner, on the other hand, has been subtly using Indigo to get closer to Ambrus's children, though it seems to be with some decided malevolent intent...

[ Coronaviridae ]
Coronaviridae, who is currently dead but doing quite well, is Jenner's host by bloodpact. She is more than a little absent-minded, and would probably lose her head if it weren't screwed on--and she didn't have her own entourage of children to look after her. A part of this distraction can be contributed to the effect Jenner's had on her mind; during their pact-making, Corona's mind literally fractured from the sudden introduction of Jenner's power. Ambrus and Nexeu, their shadow-selves Black and White, Corona's own shadow Gray, and several other smaller beings are the result of the splintering. However, she's lately been regaining some of her focus--at the cost of many of those splinters of her personality, which have been quietly popping out of existence due to the fracturing of her bond to Nexeu and Ambrus.
She prefers to be called "Cee", and is generally a warm and loving person. She is given to fits of passive-aggressiveness when she doesn't get what she wants, and has been known to pout in a way most unbecoming for a grown woman. Currently, she lives in a rambling, broken-down house in the Barton countryside with nine Mozou, three koratti, a Little Monster, a Nightmare, a Dream, and several Thoughts from the Realm of Dream. A graphic artist and author by trade, she brings in a modest amount of money to support her large household by writing for publication and hosting roleplaying sessions in her house and the adjoining worldnexus.
Recently, she's come into possession of both a seed and a leaf that seem to have minds of their owns. One--the seed, which she purchased--she has been told will grow up into a Treebaby, but the leaf... She's not sure what's going on with the leaf. Fortunately this acquisition has distracted her from the abrupt and violent dissolution of her mental collective, with Ambrus and Nexeu going their separate ways, and the several smaller entities simply... Disappearing. She has also been occupied by the sudden appearance of several of the faceless in Gaia, and has been finding them homes and hosts as she can locate them.

[ Nexeu ]
Nexeu Preston, better known as his shadow-self White when following Coronaviridae around, is mentally disturbed. He is also not a man to be crossed, and he has a very dangerous sense of humor that doesn't allow for mistakes on the part of others.
Otherwise, he keeps to himself and to Cee, representing the combined force of her self-interest and Jenner's and very interested indeed in keeping Cee alive. He doesn't speak of himself often, and prefers that no one else that is a part of the collective speak of him, on pain of injury. ...
Due to the ongoing feud between Cee, Jenner, and Ambrus, Nexeu has--voluntarily or unconsciously--broken himself from the collective and gone his own way. His acquisition of a Disgrace known to him as Haurvatat has only hastened that decay, as has his self-chosen mission of hunting down and destroying the stray fragments of Cee's collective who haven't already dissolved. His reasons for doing this are unclear and probably known only to Ambrus, who is similarly unwilling to speak on the subject.

[ Tizzy ]
 In the manner of all our kind, Mother has given me a very long and difficult-to-memorize name. The short form is Lady Commotion, but we all prefer to call me Tizzy, or "Auntie Tee", in Indigo's case. I am, yes, the one keeping this journal, because Jenner--my mother--doesn't like to do bureacratic things of this nature and usually forgets about them. D-Corp was very stern about it, though, so she passed things off to me to handle.
I can't say much about myself, being very young--I'm no larger than a cat right now, and have only one form to my name--but I'm often Indigo's minder when Mother has other things to do. Other than her terrible habit of pulling on my tail to get my attention, she's a wonderful child and I don't mind the job. More on-topic, I suppose I can say of myself that I'm a bit of a busybody and a neat freak, though I certainly don't think of myself in those terms! I'm usually the only reason this house stays in good order, too, but I don't mind that much either. If I were human I suppose most people would call Mother abusive for making me do a lot of the work around here, but honestly, I don't mind. She's my mother; if it weren't for her, I wouldn't exist, so what are a few chores?

Jesse's (known on his papers as "Jesse the Prize Fighter Inferno") the first of Jenner's Bitzers--she raised him from the egg, and he was quite a handful! He's still a handful, having more energy than he knows what to do with, making him one of Indigo's favorite playmates when she was a child. Right now, while she's still small, she can even ride him around! She'll no doubt graduate to her own dragon soon, but until then, Jesse makes a great interrim mount. Jenner's also been known to harness him up to Indigo's little red wagon, and he hauled her all over the place quite happily. Now that Citrine's hatched and Indigo's grown considerably, she doesn't spend quite as much time rolling around with Jesse--but that's all right by him, as he has a mate and pups to take care of.

[ Prancer ]
Prancer is Jenner's second Bitzer. She acquired him as an adult, adopting him from the pens at Schuster Farms after Rue caught him and tamed him. He's, to mince no words, a bit of a mutant--looking more like a dragon crossed with a reindeer than the usual dragon-dog mix most Bitzers are. Unlike his penmate Jesse, Prancer is very quiet and keeps to himself. He's a good watch-Bitzer, very loyal, and excellent at tracking. He is also quite uninterested in other Bitzers, female or male, in a mating sense, but does like the company of children, and so has made a good uncle for Piper and Jersey.

[ Hebrides ]
Hebrides is the third Bitzer addition to the family, also purchased as an egg, as Jenner thought that Jesse and Prancer might benefit from the companionship. (She may also have had in mind the thought of breeding some pretty Bitzer pups for show, but she has yet to bring that one up with the Bitzers!) In contrast to Jesse, who took to her immediately, Hebrides is shy and retiring, though with a fascination with young things of all stripes that makes her an excellent mother. She and Jesse fell very much in love (or rather, he'd been in love with her the whole time, and she fell for him) not so long ago, and celebrated the hatching of their first clutch on the twentieth of April.

[ Jersey ]
Taking after his father in coloration, but with his mother's eyes, Jersey (registered "Jersey Devil") is like neither of them in personality. Very serious, even as a pup, he has an analytical mind and a scientific way of taking things apart bit by bit to get down to the heart of them. If Bitzers were interested in the sciences, Jersey would make a good doctor; as it is, he's likely to be an innovator where the day-to-day work of the breed is concerned. While he finds his father often silly and his mother far too shy for her own good, he loves both of them dearly, just as he has a deep and abiding loyalty to his clutch-sister, Piper.

[ Piper ]
Hatched just slightly after her brother Jersey, Piper at the Gates ("Piper" for short) has her father's spots and bright green eyes, but is otherwise the spitting image of her mother as a pup. She and Jersey can often be found playing together, with or without the company of Jenner's other Bitzers or Indigo and Citrine. But--where Jersey is rational and reasonable in all things--Piper has an unmistakable streak for the mystical and supernatural. She's easily fascinated by things out of the norm, following stories of ghosts and strange happenings with wide-eyed glee that makes Jersey roll his eyes and sigh. Once she's got her feet more firmly under her she's likely to start following Indigo to magic classes, since that sort of thing is just perfect for her tastes.

[ Sambal ]
Sambal the Embermite was a Christmas gift to the collective from Prolixity. Jenner ended up tucking its coal in her pocket on her holiday visit to Cee's house, and took it home. When it hatched out into a little black creature, it was immediately named Sambal for Jenner's favorite spicy sauce and integrated into the family as a new pet. Sambal is a wonderful handwarmer, and can usually be found buried in Jenner's bed to keep her cold feet warm. [ Tizzy's note: I've been luring it there more often than not, since it's very warm and doesn't mind cuddling with me. ]1.8 _________________ // family

1.10 _________________ // toychest [ Indigo's Toychest ][x] These are Indigo's "counting marbles". Jenner saw them at a vendor's stall during the Durem art & wine festival and picked them up for Indi. She's used them to help her count from one to ten!
[x] The Mozou plushies caught Indigo's eye when she went to visit "Gramma Cee" for the first time; so did the Mozou themselves, and Albedo was surprisingly tolerant about having his feathers pulled. Since no one at Cee's house was using them, she sent them home with Indigo and Jenner. Recently, Cee acquired two more plushies--one of a Katamari Mozou, like her Sprog, and one of Albedo's...er...obsession, MOMO. In large part to keep the MOMO plushie from being torn to bits or otherwise mutilated, she sent them along to Indigo, who was quite happy to have them. [x] Indigo as a baby. A picture of Indigo when Jenner first received her, around the age of three or four. The giant leaf was from a plant just outside the D-Corp courtyard; we've been assured that it's nonpoisonous, and Indigo seems to like the taste of it.###
[x] Indigo as a child. They grow up so fast! Indigo is pictured here with the egg of her copper dragon--she only got to hold it for a short time before it needed to go back into incubation, but she was very careful with it... And absolutely thrilled to finally be assigned a dragon! She's also taken to wearing very bright-colored clothing, acquired with Jenner on a shopping trip not long after her first real growth spurt.###

An' then I had crickets an' naptime an' THEN we watched a TV show with cops an' robbers an' sirens! Wee-oo-wee-oo-woosh! Then there was a show about--about--uhhh...soap-ran-nose, except there wasn't soap OR noses, just a bunch of people with guns and stuff an' Auntie Tee said I shoul'n be watchin' it so Mommy turned it off and then! (deep breath) We had dinner an' I ate alllll my peas!
