Even though she wasn't technically a bug herself, Indigo had always held a fascination for creepy-crawlies. So when she'd noticed a whole bunch of caterpillars on a tree in one of DCorp's terrain parks, she'd immediately climbed up there to look at them. Not to touch, though; they were woolly-bear caterpillars, covered in short, stiff spines and striped with black and orange. "Hellooo, little caterpillar," Indigo crooned to the nearest of the insects.
Citrine, sitting beneath the tree and reading a giant-sized pop-up book, leaned her head back and craned her neck to look up at her partner. Insects didn't hold quite the same fascination for her, though she did have to admit to herself that these particular insects were quite pretty. Satisfied Indigo wasn't talking to her, the dragon turned back to her book, carefully turning the page with one paw.

Raisa looked out across the lawn from one of the many doors into D-Corp Labs and pouted. Her mama was inside being interviewed again by one of the lab's techs. Boooring she thought to herself. Who the heck cares how many vegetables I eat, yuck. Heading over to the trees Raisa noticed a tan coloured dragon leaning against a tree - With a book?. Coming closer she said, "hi! What are you reading?" Despite the fact Raisa had never met a dragon before, Pika had told her some dragons were very nice. A dragon reading a book has to be nice. Stopping a few feet away she heard scuffles and looked up into the tree. One foot was dangling in view and it was purple...with yellow spots...and, was that fuzz stuck on the bottom?

Somebody was wandering across the lawn. Somebody who looked not unlike her partner. Citrine marked her place in her book with a toe, raising her head and canting it at Raisa. She understood the question, of course, but her ability to pronounce English was...not so great. "Hhi," she said, raising a forepaw, before grinning toothily. "Pop-up (c)ookbook. 'Hhow to Ssserrrve Man'." The very tip of her tail thumped against the ground with ill-concealed amusement. (Cursory inspection would yeild the book was nothing of the sort, unless cookbooks for human flesh had usually pictures of tropical rainforests in them.)
The foot hanging out of the tree wiggled a bit as Indigo noticed the sounds of her dragon talking to someone, before the velvet worm poked her head out of the tree--upside-down, and with a black-and-orange caterpillar clinging to one of her antennae. "'Lo!" she said, cheerfully, before her gray eyes widened. "Oh wow! Another one! Uh, 'lo a second time! What's your name? 'M Indigo!"
((Citrine's initial c's, written (c), sound like the Russian "kh". It just looked weird to write "khookbook" in this instance. xd ))

Raisa looked dubiously at the dragon and her book. The humour went right over her three-and-a-half year old head. "Pop-up trees? What's cookbook?" Raisa asked before noticing a bright purple girl stick her head out from the branches above.
Raisa stared a few seconds before replying, "Raisa - I'm a ladybug! What are you?". She stared at the girl's long feelers with facination. "How did you get up there?" Raisa hadn't tried climbing trees yet. It looked hard!

Citrine rumbled in amusement at Raisa's confusion, turning her attention back to her book. "(C)ookbook is fforr making thhings to eat," she remarked, and turned the page. She was fully absorbed in it again by the time Raisa's attention turned to Indigo.
Indigo twitched her feelers at Raisa, before reaching up to remove the caterpillar clinging to the one for dear life. "A ladybug?" she asked, then scooched out of the tree to hang upside-down by her legs. "Aren't ladybugs red an' black with spots?" A pause. "Oh! You must be a little ladybug. Uhm--I'm an ony--onychophoran. A velvet worm!"
She passed the rescued caterpillar from upper hands to lowers, placing it securely back on the tree before folding all four arms in front of her. "I climbed!" she exclaimed. "Don't you? The extra hands make it lots easier."

"I get red 'n spots when I grow silly!" Raisa made a face at the fuzzy girl. "I never seen a purple worm," she said.
Placing her four hands on the trunk of the tree, she looked up to the closest branch. "Lift me, lift me!" Raisa squeaked. She couldn't quite touch the lowest limb. Jumping, she brushed it with her top set of digits. Her sightly chubby face was screwed up with effort. It would be amazing to go up that high! Pika never let her climb ladders or anything!

"'M not really a worm," Indigo replied. "Just called that, 'cuz some people thought we looked like worms."
She tilted her head a little to one side at the younger girl's antics, before grinning and bracing her lowers against the branch she was hanging onto. "Sure!" Stretching as far as she could--which was quite a bit--she leaned out to try and grab Raisa's wrists and help the ladybug up into the tree.
Citrine, noticing what was going on, left her book again and lent a shoulder to the effort as a stepping stool for Raisa. Everyone deserved a chance to climb trees!

Raisa's face glowed with a huge grin that grew as she got up into the tree. She grabbed hold with three hands and left the last one free to wave down at the dragon. "Wow~ I am so tall now!" she exclaimed gleefully. Grabbing Indigo's hand, she began to go higher. The branches felt strong under her small hands and could easily bare her small size. "How high do you go In'igo?" Raisa asked as she looked down. She started to feel a bit nervous as she realized how small Citrine looked from above.

((I r fail at PDs. So sorry. xd ; ))
Citrine rumbled with possessive pride at her partner and partner's new friend, sitting back on her haunches to give Raisa and Indigo time enough to get themselves settled in the tree. She folded and refolded her wings as she did, coppery eyes narrowed with amusement.
"Ah-huh! That's why I climb," Indigo said cheerfully. Most of the caterpillars had since dispersed from where the two girls were, climbing further up the tree. "Uhmmm--all the way up, if you wanna! You're not scared, right?" She only said it to tease, patting one of the younger girl's arms and grinning as she did.
Once she judged the girls to be settled, Citrine gathered herself and jumped, digging all four sets of claws into the tree and making it shake a little as she climbed up after them. Indigo yelped once, grabbing on to Raisa with two hands and a couple of branches with the other, glaring down at her partner.
"Hey! Don't go knockin' the tree over on us!"
