BASIC LEARNING - --- - --- - --- - Language Studies Rather than learning the languages themselves, students will learn about the different languages and how they influenced one another. It is believed doing so will lead to quicker comprehension of foreign speech and, perhaps, a rudimentary method of communication. History of the Planet Earth Students take a look at the geological development of the earth and how certain conditions influenced flows of mana or human ingenuity. Particularly studied is the Middle Ages, when all races but the humans fell into darkness. It is necessary to understand as much about the potential allies as possible. Study of the Human Body An anatomy course that features comprehensive guides to the human organs, systems, and body structure for the students. In addition, more abstract, ethereal elements of anatomy, such as chi, the flow of mana, and acupuncture, will also be discussed.

< TAKEN FROM FLATSALE THREAD >
Name: Rown Student #: #1 Prompt Response:The one and only prompt! Imagine yourself as one of the high government officials or one of the other races. What is your perspective on the future of the earth/mankind? In your response, make sure you include the student's general attitude towards human beings. "Butterfly, butterfly, shall I tell you where the water is?"
He leaned down and looked at the child that stood before him, his eyebrows raised playfully and a warm smile on his lips. Softly and carefully moving one of his hands off his hips he bent down and wiggled his fingers in front of the little boy's face, garnering what little attention the child had at the moment that wasn't occupied by tears. Slowly the small hands parted away from the reddened face to reveal two eyes that were puffy from heavy crying and the constant rubbing that came with fits of hysteria, which was to be expected considering only moments before the child had been screaming its lungs out for a mother that had apparently vanished or been misplaced.
The child blinked a few times, watching the fingers with watery and uncertain eyes. The older boy merely smiled and reached into his pocket, popping something purple and wavy on the tip of his longest finger; it danced a bit as he continued to move his fingers in front of the child's eyes, and slowly it came into focus what the object was - a small felt butterfly puppet. With each pass in front of the child's face with the finger puppet, more and more came into view until the little one's hands were completely away from their face and at their side. It seemed like, for a moment, a frail smile was about to play on the child's lips, but as they gazed to around to place their surroundings they quickly begin to ball back up into tears and let out a little wail. They'd wandered into a cemetery of all places that happened to be a few dozen feet away from the local playground.
"You're a little far from the flower patch, aren't you? Did you follow someone else thinking it was one of your own? Come with me, I'll take you back."
He held his hand out to the child who, in between tears, managed to grab it and squeeze what few fingers their tiny hand could grasp with all its might. The older boy smiled and gently squeezed the fingers back before he started to take a few small steps forward, the child tottering behind with more hesitant than steady steps. Though he didn't really have much to say to keep the child from crying any more than it already was, he resorted to making the butterfly perched on the finger of his other hand wiggle and speak to the child. It was clearly a fruitless idea to be sure but it was better than nothing since he didn't want to be seen pulling a sobbing child through a cemetery when the time of day was nearing dusk. It did surprise him, however, when the little ploy of making the crude finger puppet move and speak to the child seemed to be working better than he thought it would; it damn near shocked him when the child actually did stop crying and asked him a question.
"Why were you in the cemetery, big brother? Did you...get lost too?"
The older boy turned back and looked with a smile on his face and his eyes narrowed to the point where they were almost closed, and for a moment he just stood there before shaking his head no. He turned his gaze towards the setting sun in the distance and finally closed his eyes after releasing a small sigh that echoed about the pair.
"I'm not sure myself, really. I think I might be shirking off from what I'm supposed to be doing in order to get out among the things I like."
The child's jaw opened slightly in a manner than seemed more like it was trying to fathom the answer given to it instead of thinking of a response. "Things you like? ....Dead people?" Another shake of the older boy's head and a few stray wiggles of the butterfly puppet were the answer to the question and the pace of the walking pair slowly picked up as the sun began to sink a little lower.
"To be more honest I prefer living people, thank you. I think living humans are by far the most interesting, the most wonderful things I've ever come across in my life. To be with them, to live with them, I think it's the greatest thing I could have ever hoped for. You see, I love humans and think of them as something worth watching over and interacting with on any basis possible."
He meant every word he said as he led the child through the overgrown maze of grass that lined the more neglected gravestones on the inner skirts of the cemetery. To be more exact he loved the younger humans, the children, as he saw the future of mankind in them more than in anything else.
Sure all humans were once toddlers, which made them all the more interesting, but it was because they had been children that the older boy had a love and faith in them. As toddlers they had to try everything to learn what was right and wrong, they had to make mistakes in order to perfect something they were trying so hard to master...and he felt it was still the same as they got older. The wars they had between one another were little squabbles that resembled a toddler learning to feel out someone else, learning how to interact with someone or something that was so different and foreign from their usual. Their destruction of their planet, their needless ways of doing things that hurt themselves and everyone else were all things that resembled childish behaviour, and he loved them for it.
To the older boy, humans were a race that was just moving from infancy into the toddler years, ready and willing to make mistakes in an effort to better their understanding of everything around them. They would fight, they would die, they would learn and grow stronger with each passing generation. He knew the future for them was more uncertain than it was for his own race, far more uncertain, as humans continued to evolve and change like the drop of a hat - one minute a peaceful race and the next entering a war that dragged all corners of the world into it. But it was because they were evolving, because they were learning from their mistakes and making more to continue to learn, he wasn't afraid for them and afraid for himself. Instead...he was overjoyed and in love.
"We're almost back to the playground. Do you see your mother from here?"
A small tug and squeeze on his hand was the answer as the child let go at the sight of a panic-stricken woman talking to a police officer. It looked as though she'd been crying just as much as the child she'd brought into the world had been, and when she turned and spotted the pair from the cemetery approaching her mouth opened into an 'oh' of surprise that quickly changed into a teary smile. The child started to run forward with uncertain steps before turning back and looking at the older boy with a look of gratefulness and adoration.
"Thank you."
He nodded his head as the child skipped into the arms of its mother, both of them now crying tears of relief instead of ones of sorrow. How quickly people learned from their mistakes, and as the mother bowed her head towards the boy in appreciation, he knew that a mistake had been made and learned from. the mother would watch her child more, the child would not run away from its mother anymore. They were human, they were learning. The future was changing with just that moment, even if it was just so slightly. With a wiggle of the puppet on his finer, the older boy turned and walked back towards the cemetery, smiling to himself.
"...Oh. I think I was supposed to write a report today. Oh well, I'm sure they won't mind if I miss just one report since I was out with people, right butterfly?"
The butterfly just nodded.
