Quest Description
Gideon's office, despite [or perhaps because of] his best efforts, is hopelessly cluttered and messy, and needs an outside source to help organize, therefore he has posted a notice in the student dorms requesting a volunteer drop by his office. Being an archeologist and research professor, he has all sorts of interesting things hidden beneath his mess that he needs access too. Perhaps your student will find something of interest, as well?

When the youth had noticed the note posted on the bulletin board a few days earlier he couldn't help but smirk as he read over the contents, a feat Micajah was able to do based on the fact that he knew first-hand how messy Professor Gideon's office indeed was. If he could recall it looked like a tornado had attack in there, and if it was now bad enough that the man was requesting help, it was probably now in the state of inhuman hurricane.

So, of course, Micajah took the note down and decided to go pay the good Professor a little cleaning visist. It was the least he could do, seeing as Professor Gideon had been helping him out so much without asking for anything in return (his father had not been mentioned in a while, he noted), so by cleaning the mess the teen felt like he might be able to repay some of that debt.

"Well, here we are and here we go."

Micajah straightened the rolled up sleeves of his shirt as he reached over and knocked on the office door before him, wondering what was in store for him to find. He would be okay if there were rats (even nonmagical ones), but anything else . . .

The door was pulled open and the boy was yanked in by the front of his shirt by a large, tan hand. Gideon. Slamming the door behind the magic student, the tall redhead pointed to his large desk. His voice was low, dangerous. "Stay there."

If Micajah had the time to glance about, he would see that the office was indeed trashed. In fact, it was even worse that Gideon's usual. It was if something had torn it apart. And it had.

The demon had been doing some research to help Sasha out with his haunting problem, and had attempted to recreate the situation the boy was in. Unfortunately, Gideon had been distracted by Mica's knock on the door as he'd opened the enchanted wooden box the spirit had been dormant it, and it was now shooting about the room, cackling and knocking things over.

"How are you, Mica?" Gideon's voice was almost conversational as he flicked through a large text, searching for something.

The only answer Gideon received was a pair or arms wrapping around his chest and midsection as Micajah practically launched himself at the older man, his face being buried into whatever open spot he could find in the older man's back. The teacher probably couldn't see the reason why and most likely would be pissed, but as Micajah squeezed tighter it was clear something was wrong.

" . . . .."

He didn't speak, only trembled slightly, before the cackles reached his ears and the teen let out a clearly frightened (and quite girlie) shriek. He was no longer trembling but very clearly shaking, the extent of which echoed in his grip.

". . . g..go..."

Gideon was rock solid, and Micajah's fightened squeezes didn't bother him in the slightest, instead, his voice was calm, if a little surprised, and he continued staring at the book in his hands. "Ghost...? You don't like them, Micajah? Interesting. No, no, this isn't your typical ghost. It's relatively harmless, just troublesome...."

His tone was slightly distracted and he muttered an 'aaaah', following it with a few strange words, causing the bright light of the spirit to shoot violently toward them, only to slam back into a wooden box, the lid locking shut after its entrance.

"There we go." A large hand patted Micajah's head and he smiled. "Problem gone! Now, what can I do for you, boy?"

Micajah didn't really release his grip from the teacher until the large hand patted his head and Gideon had said the ghost was gone, and as he slowly left go he quickly moved his hands up to his face to wipe away the tears that had been streaking down his cheeks.

He did not like ghosts. At all. There was nothing else in this world that could bother him much, not even bugs or zombies or anything else that normally would terrify others, but at the mere mention of ghosts Mica would pale. He...they were his Achilles heel, so to speak.

"Ah...you...I saw your notice about needing your office cleaned, and I thought I'd...give you a hand with it."

He hiccuped a little on his words as he tried to calm himself down, and when he finally managed to get the tears to stop his pale face was red and tear-streaked, a funny combination for the usually so serious student. Micajah used his arm to wipe his face one last time as he held out the notice towards the teacher, indicating his reason was legit.

"It seems like you've...only made it messier, of course."

"Ah, yes... I do have a problem with tidiness." A short laugh and the redhead rubbed the back of his head as he glanced at the note, crumpling it up and adding it the the papers scattered throughout the large office. "And spirits don't help, I suppose..." A large hand clapped the boy's back.

"Well, you're certainly the best student for the job, Mica! How're you liking the school of magic?" A mischevious glint came into his eyes. "And how is Mr. Kreery?" Cane, he meant.

Micajah had to cough as Gideon clapped him on the back, his motions slightly offset, and he smiled weakly before a large blush came across his cheeks. As much as he liked this teacher, he'd forgotten that another one of his problems that he had come here for advice about involved that other student.. . ..

"...everything's fine. I'm doing well in all my classes, enough inf act that it's even made me pick up my violin and play again. I'm rustier than I had thought, but it's like riding a bicycle and I am slowly regaining my skills. As for Cane. . ."

His face turned redder, and Micajah moved right away to start gathering up several loose pieces of paper and happened to settle around his feet.

"That's not really any of your business, Professor. Even someone like me has secrets that they won't share with others."

A thin smiled played across his lips as he turned and looked back at Gideon, the stack of papers in his hands steadily growing.

"But enough about me, I'm only here to clean your office. Think of me as a maid and tell me where things go and I'll get them done."

A hearty laugh was the demon's only response and he shook his head, briefly squeezing Micajah's shoulder in acknowledgment of the boy's statement. "Right, right."

Moving away, he furrowed his brows at the mess, nodding slowly. "How about you start by separating books from notes from my drawings. Then we can see what I actually need to keep, in that sense. I'll get you a trashbag to deal with the, ah, trash."

There were quite a few empty bottles tucked around the place. "I'll be right back, boy."

The redhead briefly disappeared from the room, leaving the blonde alone in his quiet office.

Micajah nodded to the professor and his departure, and he quickly set about cleaning up what papers he could. He refused to touch the bottles for now, not until there was a trash bag or something, and he frowned deeply when he found himself noting just how many bottles there were. The bit of information was quickly tucked away in the back of his brain, or at least the area Gideon's profile occupied, and he continued on with his cleaning.

Books were soon separated, the hardbound ones in need of repair stacked in pile separate from those in good conditions. He placed paperback in another area, doing the same for their conditions, before he moved on to trying to clear out the drawings.

Some of them took his breath away with their details, his eyes looking them over despite how he told himself he should just be cleaning. He wasn't here to spy, not at all. Micajah was here to clean and get credit, to be a normal student.

For once.

Gideon returned after about fifteen minutes, a trash bag in one hand and plastic grocery bag in the other. Setting the foodbag on the table, he gestured to it. "Lunch." Chinese food, to be exact. Glancing around, he was impressed with the magic student's progress, and noticed the care he took with the drawings.

"You can have one, if you like." He pointed to the sketches. A surprising number of the lot were relevant to Micajah's studies. Magical runes, charts, sketches. Pictures of demons and elves, other races as well. Legends, and magic levels.

"Woah, you even categorized my books!" A laugh. "You're a good kid, Mica."

"Hm? Ah, no I can't take any of your drawings. Knowing me I'd try to draw the same thing or even sew it and end up doing something that would result in me being half dead."

Micajah smiled and looked up from the pile of papers he'd been sorting, his eyes moving from the teacher over to the Chinese food that had been brought along. This was turning out to be rather...interesting, what with him getting a free meal out of being a maid.

"And I wouldn't call me 'good', I'd probably say something along the lines of obsessive compulsive. I don't see how you could have let your things get this way and still expect it all to work out in the end."

He got up and walked over towards the table where the food sat, half wondering what was inside but half not caring as well. He was hungry from cleaning up this mess, and taking a break from a sty wasn't such a bad idea.

"Ach. I used to have Jac and Zavier around to clean my messes." A rueful grin as Micajah called him out on his mess and he took a casual seat, unpacking the food and offering the blonde his pick of the boxes. There were no plates, just chopsticks and sauces and Gideon dug into his own box of pork fried rice.

"I have a twin brother, you see. He's always been the meticulous one." Gideon nodded toward the drawings as he ate. "Not all of them hold magical secrets, Mica. But you're right. Perhaps a book, then, would be more to your liking?"

"A twin brother, really? I guess that would make sense, supposing now that you two would be opposites. Does he look like you at all, or is he opposite in that aspect as well?"

Micajah couldn't really imagine two of Gideon, his eyebrow raised he lifted chopsticks into his hand. He held them the same way he held his knitting needles whenever he tried to do something, but it seemed like that was probably going to fail.

"As for books....I would like a book. I almost thought about trying to make a collection of magical books when I got older, but that sort of strays from my original objective."

Another piece of chicken dropped out of Micajah's chopsticks and back into the box, causing the teen to frown as he looked down. He'd been trying in between talking and was not getting anywhere, save for dropped food either in the box or on his shirt.

"You'd think someone with my dexterity would be able to use these things, but it seems I can't."

"We do look alike, in some ways... But not really. It's more that we both look like mixtures of our parents." A big hand sifted through some of the sketches until he found one, and let out a laugh. "Here we go. This is Zavier."

The sketch showed a grinning young man, very slender in build [near effeminate], with semi-curly black hair, pale skin, and eyes and freckles that matched the huge demon sitting across from Micajah. He was dressed in a stylish button up with an ascot and designer jeans.

Grinning at Micajah attempting to eat, the same large hand reached over to correct his hand movements. "Like this, Mica. It takes practice, but you'll get it."

If Micajah had managed to get any food close enough to his mouth to eat he dropped it just as quickly when the image of Gideon's brother came into sight. It was just as he thought it would be, a polar opposite twin, and he chuckled a little as he looked it over.

"I wonder if he really looks this fancy or you just give him a good eye because you've got matching freckles?"

The comment was meant to indicate he thought the draw was nice and the person looked nice, a mixture of both, but this 'Zavier' seemed too...different for Micajah's tastes anyway, to say anything more on it. Instead he focused back on trying to eat when Gideon reached over to show him how.

". . .I'm good at practice, but I may just end up eating with my fingers. I'll starve worse then I do now if I use these things."
