C. Sailor Ferris
It still burnt. While not life=threatening, Ferris was hurt; but instead of seeking help, the senshi did what she did before -- huddled away from others, hanging back to lick her wounds like a broken doll, nervous and sad; she just wanted to go home, hide. That was fine, right?
Lt. Peridot
Well she wasn't too bad. Nothing she need find a lie for. Peridot emerged calmly, beginning to smile as she had before. It was dead! Dead and no longer in the way, and Peridot deemed shoe loss a reasonable loss to help, moving to see where she might be of aid to others. She was still here to do a job, and still intended to do it properly.

The trip back to the castle had been fairly uneventful; no youma bothered them along the way, Captain Sylvite carried Feldspar and those healthy and able to do so and aided the other injured participants as they made their way back. At the castle, there was a team of agents trained in first aid that gave quick checks over everyone; those that were too injured to continue were taken to the medical ward for better treatment. Those that were healthy enough--or argumentative enough--were permitted to join Axinite back in the hall where he’d first given information. He had not sought treatment himself, either from pride or necessity, and when everyone had a chance to gather in the hall, he flashed a quick smile. “I’m so sorry about that,” he finally said when he could address them. “I didn’t mean to leave you all like that.” He spoke honestly, at least, but there was a barely hidden shame in his voice; Axinite had once been a highly successful officer in the Special Operatives branch, and he seemed to have maintained his durability, though bad luck in an unforgivable terrain was enough to incapacitate anyone--and it was an important lesson the agents might do well to keep in mind when venturing into the Rift. “We are fortunate to have so many skilled agents. I’m impressed immensely by what I saw, and heard, of your ventures in the Rift. I’ve been told that Feldspar is stabilized and recovering, and should awaken soon. We owe his recovery to you,” he addressed the group, “And I think that warrants acknowledgement, and gratitude. So many of you were willing to risk so much. I am proud of all of you. I know it isn’t much, but I would like to give you a token of my gratitude, and something to commemorate how willing you were to come to the aid of your fellow officers in a time of need. For that, I present to you,” he moved to the table behind him and, unlike the others that were covered in baked goods and drinks, this one had only a small, well crafted, wooden box. He opened it to reveal a number of matching medals. “A token of my favor, to those of you that went above and beyond,” he explained. “Something I hope to give out again in the future. Truly, I cannot thank you enough for coming so quickly. Know that if ever you need something, you can come to me.” The offer was sincere, and more than just lip service; he seemed like he meant it when he offered it, and he was willing to go above and beyond--just as they had. “If you are injured, please make sure you get a full check up, there are a few agents ready to issue first aid and treatment. I don’t want anyone pushing themselves too hard. Queen Laurelite--and Metallia--will be pleased to hear of this success. I will write a full report to submit to them.” Quote: This is the last official mule post! Your characters can exit as they please; you may continue to speak to Axinite, or request one on one roleplay! He will continue to do checkups now, and in the future, so if this is something you would like for your character, please just reach out to The Space Cauldron to set things up! Your character may claim a medal if you posted with your character at least twice during this ORP, and wrote at least 500 words per character. This medal will be given out again in the future, but characters can only ever earn one of them at a time If you wrote 500 words prior to this post, this ORP may also be used as a battle requirement! Make sure to post your medal in the new Negaverse Medal thread, along with any others your character may have earned! You can also display this in your character’s journal, but please save the art and host from your website of choice! Thank you to everyone who participated!

Lieutenant CarnalliteCarnallite inspected her medal for a few moments before pinning it to the short, sleeveless jacket that did very little to cover the top part of her uniform. With this, perhaps she was well on her way to earning her first promotion, and the improved weapon that came along with it.
She glanced at Bloodstone.
“Unless you intend to offer medical care, we might as well take our leave,” she said, before adding with the barest trace of a smirk. “I’m sure your house boy is worried.”Carnallite Close --- Corrupt Sailor CymophaneCymophane was pleased at their success. Sure, things hadn’t quite gone according to plan, but no one was dead, and most of them seemed in relatively good spirits.
Except Kamacite, who continued to fret, as was his way. Poor guy was going to give himself a heart attack one day. Or an ulcer. Or something else equally unpleasant. Even with a medal to show for their troubles, Kamacite looked drawn and uncomfortable.
“Hey,” Cymophane said, leaning closer to peer into Kamacite’s eyes, showing him another sunny smile. “Let’s go home. I’ll make you tea and brownies and we can watch movies until we fall asleep.”
Cymophane was pretty sure tea, brownies, and movies were the perfect cure for all of their troubles.
And maybe a bit of friendly cuddling.Cymophane Close --- General AquamarineAquamarine didn’t care much for medals, if only because he didn’t want to show off his accomplishments.
At least, not within the Negaverse. He liked to be viewed as competent and dependable because it meant no one questioned his loyalty, but he did what he could not to earn too much recognition, too, lest someone get the wrong idea and think he had higher ambitions.
Even so, he accepted the medal and pinned it to his jacket so he seemed appropriately proud and appreciative. He would remove it later, and store it somewhere safe. Maybe he would display it on his desk in his and Jet’s shared office. That seemed as if it would make him appear suitably grateful for the recognition without drawing too much attention to himself.
Now that they had returned from the Rift and the danger of their mission was behind them, Aquamarine was in a much better mood.
Which, unfortunately, meant a bit of his usual brash attitude had returned.
Axinite was his superior, and Aquamarine was careful to present himself in an acceptable manner around him, but at this point he felt comfortable enough to joke.
With an impish smirk, Aquamarine said, “It was an honor and a privilege to ride your snake, Sir.”
Squashing down a round of snickering, he added, “Best snake I’ve ever ridden.”

Captain BloodstoneBloodstone took his medal and pinned it to his jacket for the pomp and circumstance, and mostly for the General King’s benefit. He didn’t want to seem rude or ungrateful for the token, and he wanted his and Carnallite’s records to reflect their reliability. If promotions were going to take place in the future, Bloodstone wanted it for both of them as soon as possible.
He even had an idea for a second recruit, now that Carnallite mentioned going home.
“I believe we are in need of some medical care, ourselves,” Bloodstone pointed out. His hair was no longer as frizzy from the youma’s attack, but he still had blood dried in his hair. He made no comment about his house boy as Carnallite liked to call him, but he was sure she was right. Bloodstone Close ----- Corrupt Eternal KamaciteGetting out of the Rift gave Kamacite only a small reprieve. He felt shaken although he did his best to keep himself steady. The Rift always drew out bad memories, and without anything to distract them, such as locating the missing Lieutenant, Kamacite felt his mind wander.
He nodded to Cymophane when he suggested going home for tea and brownies and movies, willing himself to take a breath and then another. The purple haze of the Rift’s sky still entered his memory when he closed his eyes, but they were all still alive and in better shape than they could have been.
Kamacite pulled his hand away from the scar on his neck as he nodded again, although mostly to himself this time, as he prepared to leave with Cymophane back to the city. Kamacite Close ----- General Jet“Aqua,” Jet hissed, his eyes wide in horror at his partner’s suggestive comments. Sure, it was just a joke and Jet knew that Aquamarine would probably tell him he needed to relax and that it was just a joke. But Axinite was a General King! He deserved more respect than that. And Axinite had saved them after all.
“I apologize for his disrespect, sir. Your snake really was—…” and yet… no matter how he thought it in his head, Jet’s own serious expression broke with a barely held back snicker, “— the best we’ve ever ridden.”
He really did try to keep his expression serious and professional. But in their defense, they were still pretty young, comparatively. Jet tried to mouth that he was sorry, but any time he opened his mouth he risked his face breaking out into another grin. ----- Corrupted Sailor TaeniteTaenite preened over his medal. He was thrilled to get one. And he was also pleased that the General King seemed to be in one piece. For being incredibly powerful, Axinite seemed like he could easily fall apart sometimes. It probably had to do with the fact that the General King never seemed to sleep.
“Mind if I help with that paperwork?” he offered with a shrug. “I haven’t had a chance to write a full report yet. I could use some pointers when I need to do my own.” Maybe Axinite will let him push papers for him for a bit while he took a nap or something. Or at least a shower.

Maybe Axinite had bumped his head on the wall. Maybe he misheard Aqua. Maybe not, because Jet was continuing the conversation. He still had enough blood in him for his cheeks to color, albeit just slightly. “I’ve had enough grief tonight, to think that my most esteemed Generals should intend to add to it,” he said, jaw barely moving as he tried to keep a composed expression. “I’ll forgive you, because it’s quite possible you’ve both just hit your heads a little too hard. Say what you want of the experience,” but really, don’t, “but you’re not at the bottom of a hole. Just don’t be a bad influence to the other agents, don’t encourage them to talk like that. Please,” he sighed, torn between exasperated and shamed. At least Taenite was a little more reasonable, and he turned to him as if he expected to regain some sanity. And, he did. Taenite wanted to work. Wanted to help, wanted to get pointers. Something he was far more comfortable with. “You can help. I’ll go over it with you, I’ll tell you what I look for in a report and what I’d like to see from all of our agents.” He breathed a little sigh of relief and it seemed like whatever glue he was using to hold himself together had strengthened in the last few seconds. “Thank you, Taenite, I appreciate that.”

General AquamarineAquamarine kept snickering even when Jet sounded scandalized (especially when Jet sounded scandalized). Then, when he heard Jet snicker, too, Aquamarine devolved into full blown laughter. He stepped closer to Jet and let his head drop onto Jet’s shoulder, where he laughed through the entirety of Axinite’s response.
“Sorry, Sir,” he wheezed, barely able to control himself.
He was not sorry.
In fact, seeing the faint flush to Axinite’s face ensured that Aquamarine was very pleased with himself.
He made the General King blush.
It was a very powerful feeling.
Even so, Aquamarine knew better than to push his luck. His laughter died down soon enough and he picked his head up off of Jet’s shoulder. After briefly catching Jet’s eye, Aquamarine stifled another snicker behind a cough.
“We’ll take our leave then, Sir,” he said, nudging Jet with his elbow to encourage him onward.
He and Jet would probably be laughing about this for the rest of the night.Aquamarine Close

Lt. EveiteShe was battered and bruised and pretty sure she had used muscles in a way that they weren't used to, so she could only hope with the accelerated healing that she would be okay the next day to even move. If not she would have to call in a substitute due to the inability to get herself up from the bed. They were patched up as well as they could be when they got back to the castle. She had to admit it wasn't what she had been expecting, but she was pretty sure it was different from what the agents usually experienced. From what it sounded like, there weren't many large trips into the areas surrounding the castle. Though she wasn't surprised when they ran into a Youma like that. Still, she did wonder for a bit if it would make whatever else she encountered in the near future just a bit less exciting. Ah well, at least she knew she could, somewhat, survive an attack against a giant Youma! Taking out Senshi and Knight should be easy after that... right? The General appeared to be apologetic about his unexpected abscence, which made her eyebrows crease. What is he apologizing about? His disappearance seemed unexpected. The fact that he said such a thing made Eveite just a bit suspicious of the General, but she kept it to herself. She would note it down somewhere private, but she realized that this was something she would need to keep to herself. Any type of notes such as these. There may be something else going on, not that she was one for conspiracy theories, but either the General was overly polite or hiding something, but she didn't want to forget what he had said. After all was said and done though, she could only hope to be able to catch a ride back to Earth, or else she was going to have to spend a night in the castle! ----------------------------------------------------- Super Corrupt VersaillesSomehow they had made it all back to the castle, and Versailles was starting to feel tired since the battle had taken so much energy. He let himself be bandaged and whatever else the Agents trained in first aid found that they could help with, but he would be leaving after all of this. They were lucky enough to make it out of the area alive and with the Lieutenant that they had gone in to rescue, but he didn't want to stay here any longer than he had to. Others didn't feel the same, but he was a bit grumpy that such a Youma had attacked him and he couldn't use his powers at all against the Youma. It couldn't be helped though. His were supportive, at the very least distracting, and they wouldn't have worked on such a large Youma. Perhaps if he had the chance to try it on a smaller one he would, but still, he had felt quite helpless in the fight against the creature. It only made him want to become an Eternal even more. It didn't make him question his loyalty, he had no reason to leave at the moment, and he doubted that his powers would be any more useful if he purified. The General gave a speech and handed out medals, yadda yadda, something that the Corrupt wasn't at all interested in. At least at this time. Perhaps when he felt that he had earned it, since he felt as though he had only left a very small dent in the Youma at best. He was alive, and that was a positive in his book, but he was done with adventuring through the Rift for now, and felt that he had only earned his next few days of rest when he finally went home and was able to go to sleep. ----------------------------------------------------- Captain ChambersiteThe only thing to come out of that battle for him was a bloodied lip and the feeling that he needed to practice using his dagger more than what he was currently doing with it, which was throwing it at things. It wasn't a throwing dagger after all. He had managed to hit one of his knees as well and knew that a bruise would be there, purple and proud the next day. He was angry at himself. He had done so little in the battle he hardly had a right to be called a Captain at this point. It made him wonder if they did demotions. They probably just turned useless Agents into controllable Youma if anything. He needed to avoid that. And so when the General made his speech, he made sure not to touch any of the medals as he knew he hadn't earned it. Perhaps some other time, but he could hardly call himself an Agent at this time with how little he had done. He could only go home now and try to get as much sleep as possible as he knew he would be paying for coming the next day. At least he didn't have any classes, but it would be a while before he could go out and hunt for energy again. ----------------------------------------------------- General ArsenopyriteThe lack of sleep was starting to catch up to him again now that the adrenaline from the battle had worn off and he almost had to be carried back to the castle. He wasn't too banged up at least, but it was enough to keep him lying down for a bit while the Agents who needed it were treated with first aid. If he even tried it at this point he was pretty sure he would someone manage to kill someone with a cotton ball somehow. Eventually Axinite made a speech and Arseno could only barely keep up with it, completely missing the part about the medals and wondering if Axinite being lost for a bit was supposed to happen. Was it? He couldn't tell anymore. What he could tell was he needed to sleep and perhaps take the next day off so that he could be at least semi-functioning. He turned to Benitoite and only gave him a nod before he teleported away. They would have to talk later. Quote: this is being used for 500 word quotas for my characters

Basic Calaverite He could at least walk. Calaverite didn't really want to, and he felt like he would have had a much more enjoyable trek back to the castle if someone had carried him, because obviously that was an option.
He kept shooting miffed looks toward the pink-haired agent and her charge for the duration of the walk.
But they made it back without further incident and with Calaverite being only marginally huffier for the experience. Neosporin and Band-Aids were slapped over the worst of his gouges (and Calaverite was hesitant to allow even that much- wouldn't they just make it sting more?) before everyone wound up back in the hall where the journey had began.
Though admittedly, everything of interest to Calaverite had already transpired. He'd wanted to go to the Rift, and so he had. He'd wanted to play with the monsters, and that was done. Really, he thought he'd much rather head back to his room and flounce into his bed, than listen to another lecture... It wasn't like he could be bothered to care about the condition of anyone else who'd wound up there. He picked at the edges of his bandages while Axinite spoke, perfectly disinterested in the General King's wrap-up, until...
The box with the sparkly medals was brought forth. Cala may not care about lives saved or the tactical results, but he did like shiny trophies, and he was definitely, definitely not above taking the offering trinket and pinning the gold coin right to the draping fabric of his bodice, swishing around and watching the glint in the dim lighting.
He could be convinced to go through such hassles if there were always shiny rewards at the end of it for him.

Captain Rakovanite
He had to carry his stupid brother back to the castle, because Cervantite had no desire to follow directions and apparently no sense of self-preservation. He'd wrecked himself at the last second for no reason and to achieve literally nothing. What an unnecessary waste. Rakovanite didn't speak to him on the way back, and to Cervantite's credit, he didn't fuss beyond a few soft huffs and whimpers when he was jostled.
They were lucky nothing else intercepted them. With so many injured, and a handful of others burdened from just trying to keep the injured moving, they wouldn't have made a very strong attack party against another youma of that caliber.
Rakovanite was still very silently miffed as they made it back to the relative safety of Negaspace's castle. Despite his strained annoyance, he still felt obligated to stay by Cervantite's side as he was carted to the medical ward. His brother, his senshi, his responsibility. Cervantite's assurances that he 'didn't need anyone to stay with him', and Nobleite's offer to stay behind with Cervantite so Rakovanite could join the others with Axinite were both ultimately refused.
He was offended at the choices his brother had made. But it was fine. Rakovanite didn't feel hugely compelled to wade through another meeting with a handful of faces he didn't know, but Nobleite and Gremlin should go and be sure to tell him if anything substantial occurred.
He and Cervantite would wait. They'd probably still be here by the time the talking was done, anyway.
Lieutenant Nobleite
It was beyond fortunate how many people had joined this assignment. There were few things Nobleite felt willing to praise the Negaverse for, but at least when one of their own was threatened, there were legions prepared to take up the mantle of defender, protector, and retriever. So many had gone looking for just one lost boy...
And as he watched Rakovanite carry the senshi back to the castle (annoyed but not unwilling), a soft sigh of relief escaped him.
These were still human, no matter the atrocities they were willing to commit. There was still hope there that they would protect and save each other, even when it was an 'inconvenience.' Nobleite tried to shoot the senshi boy a reassuring smile as they moved. The walk could still feel like ages, and he wished he knew more about the injury, but the boy seemed alert enough that it must not be fatal.
Everything would be fine.
They made it to the castle. The senshi was brought to the infirmary along with the others who were injured. Nobleite offered to stay and watch over him in Captain Rakovanite's stead, but it was refused. He was to take the Mauvian and report to Axinite's meeting for the finishing debrief. So he did, sticking it out with the remainder of their group as the General King commended their efforts.
Axinite, too, seemed like a good (tired) person. He seemed like he wanted to care. Nobleite didn't understand how a man like that could go so far in an organization like this, where murder just... happened so easily. So he was almost ashamed of the pride he felt for being part of this team. Almost ashamed of earning the sovereign's favor.
But not quite so much as to not accept it.
Basic Cervantite
Nothing was broken, he was pretty sure. It was all Cervantite could focus on as his brother carried him back to the castle. Nothing was broken, but some of the wounds were deep and seeping blood, and the cuts stung. It felt like his skin was peeling away from him when he moved the wrong way. Sharp rocks had sliced through his fuku, shredding the skin high on his arm. A particularly nasty gaping hole was visible on his thigh. Most of his uniform was completely in tatters, with what still clung to him slowly growing soaked in blood and sweat.
Nataniel wouldn't abandon him like this, though. Cervantite pinched the inside of his cheek between his teeth as he leaned his forehead to rest against Rakovanite's shoulder. He did his best not to be a bother while they headed toward the castle, but he couldn't suppress a few strained whimpers.
Whatever energy permeated through the Rift (and probably the last dregs of adrenaline) had kept him alert for the trip, but as they made it into the Citadel, Cervantite started to feel ever more drained and weary. He made it to the infirmary along with the handful of others who needed treatment. Rakovanite kept at his side, though the rest of their small party headed off to join Axinite's closing meeting. Cervantite tried not to argue that he would've liked to go to that...
He'd participated too. He wanted to hear the closing statements, wanted to see the kid they'd rescued, wanted the General King to know he'd been there.
But he was hurt. And weak.
He needed to be tended to in the infirmary. Some of the cuts were shallow enough, but others needed stitches, staples, or a medical-grade glue he'd never heard of before. They assured him he'd live, though he hadn't doubted that fact. Seemed like he'd be harder to kill than that while he was powered.
Just a shame he had to miss the finale...
Mauvian Gremlin
Gremlin plastered himself to the agent's shoulder, beneath the dark wrap that tucked into his vest for the duration of the fight. He wouldn't be risking himself for a stupid human boy. One stupid boy! So, he hid. He stayed quiet and tucked away as Axinite rallied them to return to the castle. He didn't offer any words of wisdom as Rakovanite dragged his brother to the infirmary. For once, there was no commentary while they settled.
The other agents separated from their group to join Axinite in the meeting hall, and maybe Gremlin could have been interested in that...
But a bunch of humans standing around chattering was hardly at the top of his list of interests after everything they'd just gone through! His muscles were stiff from scrabbling and clawing to stay latched to his chosen agent. His energy was down after the frantic beating of his heart. His skin still sung of the static from the air. So, no, he didn't really want to join the others in more talking.
After the corrupt boy had been seen to, Gremlin finally disattached from Rakovanite. He slunk down to the infirmary bed where Cervantite rested, slipped to the end of it, and flopped onto his side. With any luck, someone would bring him a snack for all his troubles.
Lieutenant Janggunite
He wouldn't admit that he didn't know what to do with himself without Maikoh there. This whole "being alone in a Chaos-energy hellscape" was far from Janggunite's idea of an engaging evening, and maybe a part of him had found comfort in having a familiar youma there- anything familiar, anything would've helped keep his heart from thrumming in that worrying way that warned of panic and his stupid body's exaggerated response to it.
But being a chaotic monster, she had obviously had no forethought and no regard for her actions. He definitely should've known better than to put any stock in her presence.
Fortunately, he wasn't truly forced to wander back to the castle alone. He couldn't bring himself to engage with any of the group in their various states of exhausted or injured, but it was comforting in its own way to at least be going back as a group, with their successful acquisition in tow: a young man who'd been- Abducted? By some terrifying force? What would've happened if no one had thought- or cared- to look for him? One of the Negaverse's own agents traped in the Rift with no one the wiser...
Terrifying to think this was the energy that fueled their abilities and that they'd essentially given their lives to...
