Why did your human character choose to become a Hunter?
Ever since his trust fund was released to him in April of 2016, Kent used his money to 1) host lavish parties and 2) pay others to hunt for proof of the supernatural life he was sure he had been seeing out of the corner of his eye since puberty. When he was promised more proof than he'd know what to do with and the chance to dramatically fake his own death, Kenton jumped at the opportunity. Wrestling Jeff the Killer and courting real death were possibilities he kind of wrote off as soon as they were mentioned, to be honest. They seemed like small prices to pay, and he was pretty sure he could just bargain his way out of those duties or something anyway.

Kenton Polk V was raised in and around upstate New York, treated to the best schools and exposed to the finest friends a boy could ever want. His father was both frivolous and frugal with the family fortune, freely spending money on boats, summer homes, and toys of his choosing, but never actually purchasing the things his wife and children asked for. It was like he had an idea in his head of what "rich people" were and he refused to deviate from it, much like he refused to drop the claim that he was the direct descendant of James K. Polk, the childless 11th president of the United States.
Surrounded by eccentric people, Kent grew up eccentric himself, and between his eyeliner phase, his frog phase, his crystal phase, his Donkey Kong phase, his bling phase, his bluegrass phase, his troll doll phase, and his candlemaking phase, no one really noticed he could see shadows that weren't there. To be fair, he didn't mention them much. Too many other things to do.
