It's been a month of scavenging, survival, and struggling to deal with stairs. Despite the perpetual danger of the island, there have been no casualties (but many close calls, the cries of seagulls will be inspiring nightmares for many a hunter for a good long while). There hasn't been much in the way of organization or leadership, though, so it's almost been a month long vacation from duties and missions! But the time for rest and relaxation (between battling rodents) was now over. For the first time since the start of it all, the island PA system sounded, a high pitched voice calling out over the island, "AH...WE HAVE CREATED A PLAN AND SOME EQUIPMENT TO DEAL WITH THE CURRENT UH...SITUATION. UM AND...OH....ALL HUNTERS ARE TO REACH THE BEACH BY TOMORROW MORNING. PLEASE? OH. BY THE SUN SHACK OK?" Quote: It's time to get rid of the status effect! Get your hunter to the beach by whatever means they have! This thread will get a GM update once a night unless otherwise stated!

Zeke had blinked awake at the noise, startled by it after so long a stretch with nothing, and it'd take him a moment to digest it. Then another moment to poke at the man beside him, as if the squeaking voice alone wasn't enough of a wake up call. "We've gotta go." It was gruff, not entirely awake yet, but he was already climbing out from beneath the makeshift rag of a blanket to pull on clothing that had seen better days. Getting to the beach from the dorms would, and did, take forever, which was probably why the announcement had come the day before. Zeke was yawning as trudged over the sad(which was a real pain in the a** this small), bags under his eyes and looking like he hadn't slept all night, which was accurate. "I'm ready for a ******** shower and a good nights sleep in a normal sized bed." At some point in the last week or so Peyton had wandered across Hikaru and taken pity on the poor girl after noticing she seemed a bit worn thin. They were a similar build, it was easy to share what little clothing the two had between them. Peyton's room, on the second floor, wasn't easy to get to, but it had been worth the climb, given the easy access to food and water in the kitchenette. It'd made things a little more bearable, but that being said, when the announcement came over the PA system announcing a possible solution the blonde had been eager to get to the beach so they could fix this. The announcement had come a day early, and it would take that long just to get their tiny selves down to the coast. "I'm ready to be big again." Relatively, of course. ---------- Henry had run into Dai just outside the dorms as he'd made his slow, slow way down to the beach. Which was fortunate, he thought. It meant he'd had a friend to make the trip with. Someone to talk to the pass the time. aria starstone Or so she'd thought. Maybe she should have left them behind.

All things considered, Kammy hadn't had a...too hard a time dealing with being shrunken to the size of small af. Although having to fight giant bugs and rodents was a pain (how much exp was she getting from fighting them, did they grant better exp now or was it just the same. She hoped it was more).
Still, hearing the voice over the PA was a relief and she would make the perilous journey to the beach so she could be normal sized again.
She had tried to stay inside most of the time so she wouldn't have to deal with the giant birds, but now she had to venture outside, and so after hours and hours of running away from giant pecking birds, she collapsed somewhere close to the meeting area, groaning out some greeting and a join party request to anyone nearby as she laid down face first in the sand.

"It's, uh, kinda hard to scavenge at this height."
Tzei kicks the sand, which now seems more pebble-sized than sand-sized, and makes her way towards the group already gathered.

Quote: When they arrive on the beach, there appears to be a line of somethings near the shore. Plastic somethings, glinting in the morning sun. Plastic somethings, maybe toys? Also lit by...were those tiny runes? Were those plastic toy boats covered in glowing runes?Distantly, in the water, a shark's fin surfaced and then slowly drifted down once more.

Hika nodded, and agreed with Peyton. "I am tired of being small enough that a mouse or a fly is a danger to my body. I would like for this to be over." She paused, then gave Peyton a bright smile. "I am EXTREMELY grateful to you for letting me stay with you, of course. I just... miss having changes of clothing." She sighed, and shook her head, thinking she was going to have to consign what she had been wearing that night to the furnace, because she did not think this outfit was EVER going to be free of stink again. She followed her friend and temporary roommate out and down the hall, her hand clutching the claw ring that was her totem, every so often. She hoped she did not have to battle anything on the way out, but if she did... She was ready to fight. ________________________________________________________________ Dai had grinned when he had encountered Henry, and slung an arm around his shoulders, in a friendly sort of way, for a moment. "Hey. Ready to be back to our proper heights again?" It had been so strange, being the same height as his sister, and Rhys, and well... Everyone, really. He didn't mind being the same height as them, it just felt weird when he was used to being a different height. "I know I am. And I am going to take leave, too, after this, as soon as I can, and go get NEW CLOTHING. Also, I hope I'll have time to get a birthday gift for my sister, but if not... Well, I'll make it up to her. So. Wanna go to the beach?" He let Henry go, and grinned again, then began the long trek. The really long trek. Dai had never hiked this far (comparatively, of course) before, and it was amazing how tiring and tiresome it was. He was grateful for his friend's companionship, though, because it kept him from going totally batshit insane.

The call to the beach was well....really far away so the girl offered her little toy car for Milo....and then Seren and Rhys too. It was a really TIGHT fit for all of them to be in it (to be honest, People would be sitting on laps or hanging on the buggy's rails over the front and Noemi did her best to drive them SAFELY to the beach. Once they were there, she shielded her eyes and then looked at the shiny things. Were those....boats? "Um....Um..." She looked at her small friend group and took Seren's hand out of reflex, and then Milo's. She would've taken Rhys too but she didn't enough hands so she looked at him with big eyes. If they were going on boats, THEY WERE GOING TOGETHER BECAUSE NOEMI WAS TERRIFIED.

Seren had been VERY GRATEFUL to Noemi for the ride to the beach, and had settled on Rhys' lap, clinging to whatever equivalent the buggy had to an 'Oh s**t Bar' the whole way, given the tight fit. It just had saved them a HECK of a trip, though, so she did not complain, just hung on and silently wished for seat belts. When they got to the beach, she hopped down, than looked around, trying to spot where everyone was gathering. Then she saw the tiny boats. Tiny. Boats. Covered in glowing runes. Her face went blank, and pale. The only reason SHE could think of to get on boats was to... go to THAT island. She could be wrong but it was the only thing she knew about. "Oh... oh ********..." She whispered under her breath, backing up a little until she was against Rhys. He had been there, that day, and she needed his comfort. Noemi grabbing her hand had her focusing on her friend. Her friend was terrified too, and Seren squeezed her hand gently. "We can do this, Noemi." She said, firming herself because she needed to be strong for everyone's sake, and freaking out in front of Noemi, when she was scared too, would help NO ONE, especially not the two of them. "Right, guys?" She glanced at the two men.

Quote: Near the boats there's a red wagon full of less immediately recognizable stuff and some sort of red solo cup contraption. As the hunters gathered, Dwight's voice called out, amplified by the small, make-do megaphone. "BEFORE SELECTING A BOAT, PLEASE COLLECT SOME OF THE FLOTATION GEAR WE HAVE PROVIDED FOR YOU! I REPEAT: PLEASE EQUIP YOURSELF WITH A FLOTATION DEVICE." The tech gestured to the wagon, which was apparently full of flotation devices. There were vests made of packing peanuts. Ping pong balls with tiny harnesses attached. Tiny plastic condiment bottles from the cafeteria, empty now, but with with little belts to tie them on. There were grapes, of all things, with a hole right through their center, small enough to serve as arm floaties. There were other pieces of "safety equipment" to choose from, each a bit more dubious than the last.

In between the naps Sonja had taken while making her way to the beach from her previous area, she found herself pretty dog-tired. Dragging her feet in the sand as she gathered close to where most of the other student's had been keeping close.
The call of the supplies wasn't hard to miss, Sonja even comically wiggled her pinky in her ear for added sport.
"Now if that ain't a sight for sore eyes..." The former gang leader smirked at the toy boats and the soon gestured wagon of other goodies.
Several moments passed for Sonja as she did a once, twice then thrice once over of the 'flotation devices'. She shouldn't be picky, especially at the height she and so many other seemed to be stuck at but it was hard to not squint a little at how silly some of these items were.
But if she truly had to pick one to equip to herself, a condiment bottle with a little belt was gonna be it!

Kammy looked at the assembled items with much skepticism, unsure if they would even work much less be a detriment to her survival. The toy boats didn't look very reliable either.
Eventually she shrugged, taking the grapes to use as floaties. At least she wouldn't starve in the ocean, the assumed place they would go to.
The shark fin however was not very comforting.
"Did anyone else see that shark? We aren't going to fight it are we?" She asked the assembled group. Her face fell at the looks of fear on the other hunters.

Being small was incredibly inconvenient in ways that being short didn't even compare to. How he'd managed to make his way out of the basement with Sid in toe was a blurry mystery and how they'd managed to get out towards the beach was even better.
He'd thought about wrangling one of the creatures that had attacked them at one point but that required making sure they were tamed enough and he just didn't have the ability to give that much s**t.
Up ahead was Soleil, struggling in her unfortunate shoe wear. That was, in his opinion, the benefit of always wearing the same two pairs of combat boots. Great for all terrains, sorta.

Luka had made it to the beach to her relief and she was gathered at the boats with some of the others. Pushing up her glasses she took one last ditch attempt to spot her sister among the crowd. Unable to spot her at first, she took a gander at the offered flotation devices.
Nothing looked particularly...useful or safe and in the end she'd opted for the use of...grapes because they would at least provide her a fair amount of mobility if she needed it.
Right after she had secured them on her arms, and while she was trying not to be bugged by the juices seeping into her coat, she spotted a familiar face.
"Lena!" She pushed past anyone between them and threw herself at her sister.

For the most part Sid had put on the rest of his clothes, including a pair of over worn sneakers that he had question had really been his or a pair that Tweet had owned that he has somehow scooped up into his own use. They had been beneficial though when it came to climbing the stairs and making their way around the oversized landscape which made grass almost seem like someone had forgotten to mow the lawn. Somehow they had all made it to the beach in mostly one piece as Zane offered to give a piggyback ride to Sol who was having less luck in heels on the beach. He felt a little pity for her being trapped in them but it did at least make her legs look great which was probably not as much help now as it would be somewhere else. He kept an eye out for any sort of seagull looking to dive bomb as they made their way over to the so called floaty devices left for them to try on. “So what are we going with?”

The drive down to the beach had been interesting to say the least, with Milo riding shot gun and holding onto anything that he could. He couldn't say it was terrible really, not when it was Noemi at the wheel having used her quick thinking in using the vehicle to get down the location in a timely manner. And well, just being anything with Noemi.
"Well, gettin' to the beach makes sense for once, ya." Milo couldn't help his chuckle once his gaze fell upon the boats which seemed to produce a very noticeable reaction from the small redhead by his side.
Pulling his attention away from the boats, Milo glanced down at the hand gripping his tightly in his before raising it to try to catch her eye to eye. "Aawee, don't worry Noemi-chan! We can totally do this, ya," a response made to agree with Seren as his lipped tugged into a reassuring smile. "Might be a little out of practice but I was on boats all the time at home, ya. And they even made awesome looking vests for us," he added in reference to the collection of odds and ends that had been constructed to... maybe keep them safe. Maybe. This was still Deus, things liked to go weird (and bad, so many times bad).
Still, he covered her hand that gripped his with his remaining one and gave it a squeeze, "let's go get geared up for this totally awesome adventure, ya?"
