Story: The Sythifth
References (if applicable): Loralie sat in front of the fireplace with grand freshlings sitting all around her, the old imp grinned and said in a soft spooky voice. "I'm going to tell you lot the story of the Sythifth, the story that my grandmother told me and her grandmother before told her." Loralie fluffed her purple tail and made another spooky sound before she said. "Never go into Maiden's Wreath, there is a beast that lives there, if you go into the Maiden's Wreath alone, you will never return." Lorelei paused for effect watching the freshlings listen to her story, then she went on and said. "I the dark of night deep in the mountains the Sythifth lurks, eyes glowing. Long claws poised to strike down intruders. Leathery wings strong and powerful sending stones rolling down the rocky hills."
Lorelei growled and hissed watching the freshlings jump. Lorelei held back a laugh, she wasn't sure if she believed the stories but they had been taught to her so, she would tell her grandchildren as well. "The creature wears tattered clothing, hanging from their body, sunken ribs showing through their grab, few have ever seen the beast and lived to tell the tale." She said making another spooky noise. Lorelei laughed softly to herself, brown eyes gazing at the little ones her kids would likely kick her butt when they found out she had given the kids smores and told them spooky stories but hey what was the point of being a grandparent if you didn't get to have fun.
Lorelei grinned and went one "The creature is made of darkness and the fears of those who live at the base of the mountains, with eyes like the glowing moon. If you look directly into the creature's eyes you are sure to go mad!!" Lorelei growled and watched all the freshlings jump once again. "So never go into the mountains alone." She finished in a spooky voice. Her grandkids laughed nervously, they likely wouldn't take the story too seriously, just like she didn't as a kid. "My grandmother swore that she once saw the Sythifth on a family vacation she went on with her family to the Maiden's Wreath, she said she wandered into the mountains and caught sight of leathery black wings flying across the moon. She ran back to her family as fast as she could." Lorelei grinned and said. "That is all I know of this tale." She finished up with a spooky cackling laugh. Then said "Alright you lot, take your sugar rush back to your parents." With that, she shooed her grandkids off.
