She knew she could do it! Beaming ear to ear, Lace tossed her hair, passing it off as if she hadn't doubted herself one bit. She'd surprise Samhain with this later! Maybe change her hair an entirely new color and see if he noticed!

Naaaaailed it! Man, maybe there was a future in magic for her! Not like she wanted to give up her toy dream... but perhaps she could try and use illusions on a few future plushies.

Optical illusions sort of annoyed Anchriesel, but if this was their activity for the day, then he could go along with it. He picked out one of them and showed it to the class.
"I picked this one because I like the colors. I'm not quite sure how this one works, but apparently it works by using contrasting colors and shapes in a way our brain doesn't expect. It only really works if you move your eyes--if you stop moving your eyes, then it ceases to move."
Chries didn't know what else to say. Awkwardly, he sat back down in his seat. He normally liked illusion class, but he wasn't sure if this was what he had expected to do today.

Excited for today's class, Hailey got up after her classmate to make her presentation! "So this one is really neat..." she started off as she held the book that contained the image in front of her so everyone could see. "It looks like liquids oozing down, down, down. I think it works by creating a look of depth to mess with your perception, as well as the colors working together to trick your mind!" With a big grin on her face, she took her seat again and wriggled in it as she began to pour through the book to look at the images once again!

Turnip looked over the Illusion textbook, he found an example he to share with the rest of the class. He was amused by the circles that appeared to me spinning on the page. He wondered if it was done through illusion magic or if it was artist magic. Then teacher had said optical illusion so that just meant a trick of the eyes right??

Gwen picked out a picture in the book to share with the rest of the class. She wasn't sure if she likely the illusion class much. She strangely had likely dance class and divination class better. Looking at the optical illusion pictures made her kind of sea sick.

Muridae Muridae's eyes grew large as she was sucked into the hole, sucked into another world. She squinted, trying to break the illusion's spell, but it kept her prisoner, and she felt herself falling into it. The teacher's call of her name finally snapped her out of the trance, and she sighed with relief, turning the picture upside down. Pic: Eudica Eudica smiled a small smile. She liked this class, it was interesting. She wondered what other things, seemingly regular things, could be manipulated to create such a phenomenon. Pic: Clair Clair giggled as the picture seemed to wiggle and move. She took out a pair of sizzors and cut the picture up, to see if it's craziness was still in effect. The teacher gave her a look and she reluctantly put the sizzors away. Pic: Frit Frit studied the picture. Staring at it. Wouldn't it be amazing if a plant used this sort of optical illusion to enrapture its prey. The nightmare brought out her notebook to jot down some notes. Pic:

Go and find an optical illusion that looked like it was moving? Oh, yah. Abel had this one in the bag. Abel loved optical illusions. She was that weird teenager who carried around psychedelic notebooks with the same moving illusions on them. Abel decided to bring in a poster that had been hanging up in her room and plastered it up on the chalkboard. The colours were ... eye searing. It was part of the reason why Abel loved it! Staring at such over saturated colours and watching them drip and shift and move together was incredibly fascinating.

Cain had seen enough of these optical illusions for one life time. The fact that his illusions class was now covering them was a little exhausting. Abel seemed so pleased by the idea of showing off her rather obnoxious collection of images. "They move, but they don't use magic to move! How is that not cool" she would explain. Cain sighed just thinking about it. The imp, of course, still complied and completed the subject, bringing in one of the easier and more interesting optical illusions from his sister's ... rather sizable collection.

Rajna was very pleased by the assignment! She loved the way optical illusions could expand the mind and make you question how it was all possible. Rajna's personal favourite one in her online collection was one of bat that looked like it was growing large until you blinked or looked away. Hopefully the teacher would enjoy it!

Lavticius thought the idea behind optical illusions were fascinating, but personally they really hurt Lavi's eyes. Trying to find one that Laviticus liked versus one he could stare at long enough to tell if it was moving had proved to be quite a difficult process. In the end, Laviticus just picked a random image and hoped for the best.

Popple was pleased with the picture she managed to find for class. It was rainbow, so of course she had to share it with the class... even though the colors hurt the eyes a bit.
Quote: "There are many types of illusions. Today we will do a brief session about those that appear to move, but do not. These are called optical illusions, they can be very... difficult." Tethys nodded to the books on their desks. "Open your textbooks please.... We'll go over some examples... and then you'll all have an opportunity to share some you like with the rest of the class." Rules 1. Find a picture that shows an optical illusion that appears to "move." 2. Have your student bring it to class and present it. (Spoiler large images.) 3. Post a short RP response about coming to class and participating.
