Pausing just outside the Infirmary, Yalitza chew on her bottom lip as she glances around. She felt strange going to see the twins, just because she wasn't hurt at all. Although she knew she would find them here, and they did offer to tutor her. Placing her hand on the handle of the door, she pulls it open, sticking her head inside "Hello Argentum, Aureus?"
Aureus paused in his discussion with his twin and tilted his head to look at the door as their names were called, the chair he'd been leaning back clicking as it reconnected with the floor. "Yes?" Recognition dawned on him then and he smiled, waving Yalitza in, "Oh hello!~"
Argetum paused at the same time as Aureus, pushing off the wall he'd been leaning against and coming to stand behind the other echo. "Yalitza?" He asked, tilting his head and then grinned as he found he was right, "Welcome!"
Stepping fully into the room, Yalitza's cheeks darken as she shuts the door behind her "I hope I didn't come at a bad time. I'm here for my tutoring in Literature." she held a couple of books from the Library in her hand as she adjust her bag hanging off her shoulder. She was eager to get her tutoring sessions started so she may catch up with the others.
"Oh!" Argentum nodded and looked for a place to clear some space for her books, "Nope, not a bad time at all. We were just considering going home so I'm glad you caught us." He nodded as he finally arranged the desk in a satisfactory manner.
"Literature, hnn? That's not too hard." He nodded his approval of the subject, and pulled another chair up for her, "What do you need help with?"
Nodding Yalitza gives them her bright smile as she walks over to the desk. Setting her bag down she pulls out her notebook followed by her quill. Taking a sit, she turns looking towards them both "Pretty much everything, I want to learn all I can. So enough that its one less class I have to worry about?" reaching over she pulls a band from her bag before pulling her hair up into a loose ponytail. She was ready to get down to learning.
Argentum laughed, "Start from the beginning, then hnnn? Alright." He settled in behind Aureus and leaned on the chair, resting his head on top of the other's, "With Literature you can learn to direct and control your magic and upkeep your spells so that they last longer then they normally would. By using active or passive sentences, you can direct actions towards either your opponents or your allies."
Aureus smiled and reached up to gently poke Argentum in the cheek, "Any guesses as to what an active or passive sentence is? And what each does?"
Yalitza looks up at them both as she finishes writing the bit of information Argentum gave her. Lifting her quill to her nose, she taps it a few times before she glances towards the book she had. She knew she read something about Active sentences as she was skiming it over "Active sentence is one in which one moves or effects an object, simply by the way of a verb. Passive though, I must say I do not know. I didn't get that far in my book."
"Ah. Well you're correct on with the active sentences and passive sentences are those sentences where an object is affected by another object by way of a verb. It's a more indirect way of stating things." He nodded, before continuing, "Actives sentences are generally used to target someone other the yourself whereas a passive sentence is used to direct your spell onto yourself or those nearby."
"Active and passive sentences are found all throughout literature so it's a good idea to take a look as you have been try to pick them out. If you master direction of words, you can make called shots - narrowing the area you are aiming for, That is, instead of just hoping to hit the general body of your opponent you can use targeting to pick out something specific like an arm, head, or even the heart. However, targets like the heart are incredibly difficult."
Her quill moves as she listens to them both, not missing a single thing. Looking back up she arches a brow as she thought about the heart "So the heart is the hardest part to get because its protected fairly well? So what would be the most easiest target on a body to get, I mean beside arms and legs?"
"The easiest? The Torso is, actually. But that really depends on the opponent. The heart is difficult because it is protect and because your are aiming for a specific organ within the body." He was proud of her, for asking questions. They hadn't really gotten all that many questions from the other zeroes that had sought them out.
Argentum nodded in agreement with Aureus, "Exactly. If you were to target us, for example, it would make sense to aim for our torsos but if the situation were such that you were on the ground and we in the air, targeting our wings might prove more beneficial." He bit his lower lip as he thought, "The difficulty of targeting varies a little, obviously. But with practice, you'll get better at it and be able to become more and more precise in your actions."
Nodding Yalitza chuckles as she crosses her legs "So it also depends on the stage your opponent is in also?" making a quick note of this, she smirks to herself. She would never fight the twins, but if it ever came down to it and she had no choice. She knew where to aim now. "So what would be a good time to use a Passive sentence on yourself?"
"Healing." Argentum chirruped quickly, standing for a moment before pulling over his own chair and sitting beside his brother, "Passive sentences are good for things that benefit you or your allies. You wouldn't want to help your enemy would you?"
Aureus chuckled, "Especially if you've decided to upkeep your spell beyond it's normal bounds. It would be very detrimental if you targeted poorly due to improper word direction and healed your enemy to full health while you yourself were wavering."
Yalitza makes a note under Passive that Heal would be the best example. Underlining it three time she chuckles "Healing an enemy, I would rather not do that." glancing over her notes she shakes her head "I read in the book, each spell has its own name. So I assume you would have to call it by such in battle, and that you would have to speak it clearly?"
"Yes. It's always best to speak it clearly though you do not have to broadcast your intentions." He nodded, and fell silent as Argentum spoke up.
"The next part of Literature is Upkeep. Upkeep is the act of maintaining a spell. This requires concentration and while it is possible to act and maintain a spell at the same time, it is very difficult. It's easy to over exert yourself and drain your energy faster then anticipated so it's something you need to be careful with."
Yalitza pauses as she writes down a few notes "So it would be a good idea to have a strong mind, as well as a strong body? That way your not exerting yourself?" scribbling a few notes that came to herself, she looks back up at the twins. Her mind started thinking over the different things she would need to do, to make herself stronger.
Aureus made an approving sound as he nodded, "Yes. The intellectual pursuits require training your mind as much as the physical pursuits require training your body. If you don't practice, you won't be able to achieve as much be able to do as complex things as others."
"Apply yourself and keep in mind how things play into each other, and you'll go far. We believe in you." Argentum smiled and fluffed his wings, his sentiment confirmed by nod of agreement from Aureus. "Did you have any questions, then? Or is it clear enough that you can proceed on your own? Don't hesitate to ask if you don't understand anything."
Setting her quill down on her notebook, she shakes her head "I think I understand, it makes more sense when explained. Now I will just have to make myself strong in both body and mind." placing her notebook ontop of the book, she laughs as she looks back towards the twins "Thank you I honestly think I would have been more confused if I tried to read and figure this on my own."
"No problem" Argentum laughed softly and crossed over to where she was, pulling her into his arms to hug her tight, "We're always willing to help our little sister."
Aureus had risen as well and offered a hug of his own to Yalitza when Argentum stepped away, looking amused, "I'm sure you wouldn't have had as much difficulty as you think. You're a bright one."
Wrapping her arms around Argentum, she gives him the biggest hug she could, before doing the same to Aureus "You know Argentum, one day I'm not going to be little. I will catch up to you both, so you won't be able to call me little sister all that long." out of habit, she push her bangs from her face. A smile forms as she hears Aureus's word, it gave her the confident she needed.
Placing her notebook, then her quill back into her bag she looks at them again "What else do you two know well? As far as classes?" she figure she would go to the upcoming classes, but also she would come get some tutoring from them. She knew if she push herself, she would be able to get through all her classes.
Here they both paused a sort of flushed. Their skills were on the one thing they were bashful about - as zeroes, they'd excelled in everything to the point where they'd ascended before all their classmates and had been hired by the city at that point. "Well.... We've knowledge in the classes associated with our fields of interest... Science, mathematics, astronomy, magical theory, philosophy, law, some cooking...."
Argentum flushed further as Aureus gave the list, "It's not that much, really." He'd neglected to add on the few others that Aureus had forgotten and smiled at Yalitza, "Just ask for whatever you need help in, okay? We'll be able to do most of what you need, though we're better at some then others."
Leaning against the desk, she taps her fingers along the desk. This was the second time, she had ever seen the twins flush. She was tempted to as them to explain, but decided against it. With a nod she chuckles "How are you two at Law? I caught a glimpse of Professor Bardane class the day I awoke. And from what I saw, I have a feeling, I wouldn't last long...."
Aureus chuckled as he wrapped an arm about Argentum's shoulders, "Bardane is strict but fair. And we want to be Chorus members so you're in luck there. We study the City's laws among other things."
"If it helps any, we didn't really like him either... he's too strict. Fair but cold. Hard to talk to." Argentum's flush had faded and he smiled, leaning against his brother, "We'd be more then willing to help with that - what a zero needs to know is fairly simple."
Pushing off the desk, she walks over hugging them both "Thank you, that was a big worry to me. Having to face Professor Bardane, and getting yelled at for doing or saying something wrong." pulling back she glances towards the door. She knew she should be heading back to her dorm, just so she could get some more studying in.
Looking back up at them takes a step back "I should let you both head home. I have taken up alot of your time as it is.
"
"Don't worry about it." Argentum winked and mussed up her hair, "It's always a pleasure to talk to you."
Aureus nodded, "We don't regret it, so don't you." There was a teasing tone in his voice as he smiled and passed by her to open the door, "We'll walk you to your dorm, how about that?"
Picking up her bag, she pulls it over her shoulder before reaching for her library book. Holding the book close to her chest she gives Aureus a nod to his question as she slips pass him out the door "So members of the Chorus. Hmmm, I was thinking about that myself. But the more I look at it, the more my heart seems to like the thoughts of being either a Seraphim or a Grigori."
Aureus nodded, "Go with what you feel best suits you. We're not fighters," He glanced at Argentum with a wry grin, "Never have been. We'd much rather serve the city with our strengths."
Argentum added to that, "We hope to be officially recognized as prophets and use our skills in assisting preemptive lines of actions or better targeted pursuits for others."
Yalitza smile as she skips slightly ahead of them. Turning she nods "I think you both will be great, no matter what you'll be recognized in the city. I hope to one day be recognized also within the city." looking down at her feet she chews on her bottom lip before she looks back up at them both.
Aureus scoffed, and shook his head, "You'll do exceptionally, I'm sure. It just takes effort, which we all know you're willing to put in. You've already got mindset down, just need to perfect those skills."
Argentum laughed, nodding in agreement with Aureus as he laced his fingers in the other's and hooked an arm about Yalitza's shoulders, "Don't worry, Yali. Believe in yourself. We certainly believe in you."
Yalitza relaxes before she smiles up at Argentum "I do believe in myself. Now its just getting the others to believe in me like two do." stepping away from them both, she leans against the door of her dorm "Thanks for walking me back to my dorm."
Aureus winked, "That's not so hard. Just be yourself and you'll win them over." Leaning in he gave her a farewell hug and kissed her forehead, "Rest well little one."
Argentum did likewise, and smiled as he stepped back, "They'll all find you as wonderful as we do, we're sure."
Flushing, she looks down before she shakes her heads "Your lucky I believe you both, and that your both cute. But your right, I just have to be myself, I will win them over sooner of later." turning she pops her door open before she turns back to them "So I will see you both soon?"
"Of course!~" They replied in unison and waved as they started away, walking with hands clasped. "Good night!~"
Waving to them, she turns slipping into her dorm for the night. Tomorrow would bring a new day, and many new things that she would have to look further into.
