D I R E C T O R Y....E N T R Y S o l o . R o l e p l a y C o l l e g e..B o u n d.The teen woke up early that morning, as per usual. The routine at their camp was easy for him to follow now. Wake up, breakfast, train for a few hours, lunch, study.. and the list goes on until bedtime, of course. Quan's daily lectures were beginning to become few and far between, and for the most part the man only taught him battle tactics and maneuvers, as well how to go about fighting more with your head than your weapons.
Ainsley was growing to be quite a fighter, though he knew more than anyone that there was definitely more room for improvement. Quan always talked about how he was too critical on himself, but the younger Orderite never paid much attention to such lectures. There was always room for improvement in anything and everything that you do, from battling to simply cooking a small dish. There was always more to learn, always.
Ainsley's almost insatiable quest for self-improvement was becoming rather taxing on the older fellow; of course he'd known of Ainsley's desire to become stronger and his relatively hard-working nature, but he would never have guessed it would go to such extremes. He kept up as best he could, then that morning just up and disappeared for a good while. He'd missed breakfast and lunch, so Ainsley was left to his own devices. He went fishing, sparred with a few trees, and did some training and a fair amount of studying as well.
His day had been relatively productive, but he was beginning to feel limited in the amount of work he could put into his studies. After all, Quan was an expert on the battlefield, not in the classroom. Books simply weren't the man's specialty, although he encouraged Ainsley to keep up with some degree of his academics. Specifically, it was in the realm of alchemy and enchanting that the older Orderite told him to focus. He said it would do wonders for him while traveling, and so that was what Ainsley primarily focused on.
He was just beginning to page through an old book discussing the idea behind alchemy when Quan came back, a heavy pack on his back and a smile on his face. Ainsley immediately got up to help, both curious and a little concerned for his aging mentor.
"I got it," he said while grabbing the top end of the pack. Quan happily handed it over to him, then sat down and began huffing into his pipe.
"Set it down here," Quan said after a few huffs, pointing at the ground directly beside his feet. Ainsley did as he was told, then sat down across from Quan. The more experienced of the two pointed at the pack as asked, "Any idea what's inside, boy?" Ainsley gave a simple shake of his head, eliciting a chuckle from the other. "Alright, then open it up and find out."
The blonde was more than happy to oblige, and he sidled up next to the pack and untied the end, laying the sides down and staring intently at the various ingredients that lay before him. Leaves and and beaks and vials of ink, plus recipe books as far as he could tell; it was a collection of ingredients he saw in the various alchemy and enchantment textbooks that described the procedures. Of course, none of them actually had any recipes, just.. descriptions. The teen stared down at the contents of the pack curiously, then up at his mentor.
"For your studies," the elder Orderite said with a nod, then quickly pulled out a sheet of paper from inside his coat and handed it to his student. Ainsley unfolded it and read the title carefully, tilting a curious brow at Quan. "Fill it up then, go on."
"College.. of... Aptitude?" the teen questioned, ignoring his mentor's suggestion to go and fill up the form.
"To help with your alchemy and such," the man said, then huffed into his pipe again. "I'm no big-time alchemist or enchanter myself, so I can only give you textbooks on concepts and such that I picked up along the way. Actual practice isn't practical with me, and you need to learn more than what I can teach you, so..."
He pointed at the piece of paper in Ainsley's hand, then huffed into his pipe some more. That seemed to end the conversation, so Ainsley could only mutter a quick word of thanks before gathering up his new supplies and packing it in with the rest of his stuff carefully. Following that, he filled up the enrollment form as best he could then tucked it away for safe keeping. The next morning, Quan instructed him to go to the outpost in Serenia, which was a way's away, so he set off in the early morning and arrived at his destination at near midday.
The teen carefully made his way into the building, the piece of paper now held in his hands. The woman behind the desk saw him approaching and offered a broad smile.
"Welcome to the College of Aptitude. I see you're holding one of our enrollment forms. Are you planning on enrolling today?"
He nodded.
"Wonderful! Have you filled it out completely?"
Again, he nodded.
"Wonderful! May I have it please, Mr. ...?"
"Ainsley," the blonde answered while handing her the sheet of paper.
"Mr. Ainsley! Wonderful!" she said, her voice shrilly and somewhat practiced. Ainsley had to keep himself from making a face at her while she processed his form. After a few minutes of (blissful) silence from both parties, the woman ducked behind the desk for a second and re-emerged with a badge and offered it to him.
"Okay, Mr. Ainsley, you're good to go. Here is your badge, for any further assistance please approach the front desk," she went on, pointing toward another desk that he'd missed that was a bit closer to the entrance. "Have a nice day!" With that, she waved him off and he took his badge and went on his way. Whatever excuse he might give to anyone who asked, the teen was truly excited to be moving on with his studies. He had a lot more to learn, he knew, and this was the perfect place to get it done.

While sitting down and taking a bit of a break, Ainsley quickly pulled out his journal and jotted down his thoughts... .Almost got strangled to death by a bird-snake today. Close call, but I managed. Found some nice feathers for my trouble, so at least there's that. Hopefully I don't run into anything worse along the way.

After finally making it back into town and to the inn safely, Ainsley quickly cleaned himself up and grabbed his journal... .Vlideans, much, much worse than bird-snakes. They attack in packs almost, and they nearly pecked both my eyes out! Got away safely though, and picked up some nice items too. I'm starved.. when's Quan getting back? It's almost dinnertime.

Although it hurt to do any sort of activity that evening, Ainsley still decided to pull out his journal, quill, and ink... .Finally got back at those Ysali dragons. Hah! Feeling pretty good even though I'm all beat up. It was worth it though.

After making it back into a town, Ainsley hurried to the inn and whipped out his journal... .Big, big dragons here on Ayr. And just as many try to gang up on you. I actually managed to get myself in a den with one. Can you believe that? At least I'm safe now, and I have an idea what to expect from these Ayrala...

Once he was on the bound for Serenia, Ainsley pulled out his journal, quill and ink... .Not a fan of the idea of owing any Oblivionite a favor, but one did help me out today. He wasn't all bad, I guess. I'll consider him an exception to other Oblivionites for now, since he was tolerant enough to help me out of that hellhole of a forest. I didn't catch his name, but I'll know him when I see him.

After a curious encounter with a Dovaa, Ainsley, unable to completely focus on his book anymore, pulled out his journal... .I can't say I'm a big fan of how the Dovaa are hiding out or whatever it is that I read, but after meeting a Dovaa for the first time today... well, nothing's really changed. I don't know if I like them or not, but as for that particular Dovaa, I think it'd be interesting to run into her again.

While out in the rocks for shelter during the nighttime, with barely any light at all Ainsley decides that it's alright to pull out his journal... .Kiandri dragons are a lot more dangerous than any dragon I've ever fought before. They basically breathe out lightning and use it to try and kill you. I managed to beat one today though.. but barely. I still need to get stronger.

After making it back to the inn where he and Quan were staying and having dinner, Ainsley pulled out his journal for a quick entry before going to bed... .Found another rare herb today. Ainsley stayed quiet during Quan's lecture about spending wisely, then afterwards took out his journal to jot down his thoughts... .Honestly, I never thought I'd hear him complaining about money, of all things. Spending spree? I hardly think so. He gave me a page-long list of things to buy and that's what I did! I bought! Sure, I bought a few things extra, including some Seggan leaves, but I only did what he asked me to do for the day! Ugh...

After getting back home and discussing a few more things with Quan, before turning in for the night Ainsley briefly pulled out his journal once again... .Quan pointed something out today, and I realized he was absolutely right. I need to get strong on purpose, otherwise it's all pointless. I need to start doing things with more focus and not just blindly keep going forward. Focus...
