A day in Soudul was one day too many as far as the teenaged Orderite was concerned. The atmosphere was heavy and the lack of light almost hurt his eyes, having to adjust to the darkness of the entire continent. It surprised him to a degree that a continent as a whole could ignore the blistering sun that constantly beat down on Eowyn; the same sun let Serenia shine brilliantly, even into the nighttime with the glow of the moon. He supposed he could attribute it to the work of their goddess, but whatever the case he never enjoyed his visits to this part of the world. The inhabitants weren't all that pleasant either, but maybe that was just because he was an Orderite.
Quan had sent him on a trip to pick up some things from an acquaintance of his; the older man never seemed to run out of acquaintances. Ainsley wouldn't have been surprised if he had acquaintances living in the recesses of the frozen continent, Aisko, to pick up a bottle of water or something equally as ridiculous as the parcel he came all the way here for. The teen had grumbled the entire way coming over, then politely took the parcel off of the Oblivionite acquaintance's hands and began grumbling as he made his way back.
Stupidly, he decided to go through the forest as a shortcut to head back to the port. After about an hour of meandering through the myriad of trees and paths, however, the blonde soon found that he was quite utterly lost. So he boiled over.
"Damn it all to hell!" he exclaimed, kicking a tree in the process, going on to a bit of cursing before he was finally calm enough to think. "I found my way out before," came his mutterings while pacing. "I can do it again, especially now that I'm older and better trained. Yes.. hm..." And so he began to think and pace, his surroundings suddenly melting into the background and essentially making him a bit more vulnerable.

Kilian and Amadia had ventured into the forest. They needed to train and every space at the academy was taken. So they had resorted to a clearing in the forest. Kilian's twin daggers were laying off to the side. This was not a battle to injure. They just needed to spar, get to know each others moves. And what better way than to spar with a friend? "Get ready to lose, Amadia." Kilian smirked as he got in a battle ready pose. Amadia snorted. Don't hold your breath. The keindred laughed in her mind. It was nice to finally get in some one on one training with Kilian. She could feel her Kiandri powers awaking slowly. The dragon hunt on Ayr had made some of them shown. She just needed to train more. Needed to learn how to control them. At that thought, both Kilian and Amaid shoved off the ground, going after each other with blows that wouldn't injure them gravely but did pack a nice punch. They were so into their training that they didn't notice an Orderite making his way closer to the little training area.

Ainsley was, perhaps, a bit too engrossed in his thoughts to realize that he actually had company. Or rather, he was accidentally walking onto a faux battle ground, but when he heard a few grunts and such going on somewhere to his left his concentration broke on how he would get out of that forest and suddent his focus was on the two duking it out nearby. It took a bit of squinting, but he could vaguely make out a dark figure - an Oblivionite, no doubt - and what looked like a mini dragon. What were they called again? ..Drakein, or something to that effect? With a curious brow, the teen inched a bit closer so he was within hearing distance, so.. well, obviously seeing distance as well.
He was certain that it wouldn't be a pleasant encounter, but even Ainsley could swallow his pride and admit he needed help to someone he already disliked simply because he was an Oblivionite. Well, it looked like a he anyway. "Hey!" he shouted, unsure if he'd be heard by the other still-brawling parties. "Hey! Do either of you know how to get out of this hellhole?" A bit blunt and probably not a good idea to be insulting the forest that belonged to the home of the other individual, but whatever. He just needed directions, not a friend.

Kilian and Amadia shot off in opposite directions. A pause in their training. The pair were breathing hard and Kilian was sweating profusely. We've got company. Amadia said as she came out of her couching position and stared past Kilian. "Hmm." Kilian mumbled a curse as he turned around and saw an Oblivionite standing close by. "Hellhole, huh?" Kilian raised an eyebrow and looked up and down the male. "The same could be said about that damned bright place you come from." He shrugged. "Yes, we know how to get out." Kilian walked over to Amadia and laid a hand on the keindred's head. It wasn't every day that an Oblivionite came into the forest. Just what was he doing here?

Never in his life would he have imagined asking an Oblivionite for help, but hey. He never thought he'd get put in such a situation in the first place, and if you had told him he'd be on Soudul picking up a parcel for his mentor back when he was younger he probably would have laughed right at your face. Swallowing of pride and prejudice (or as much as of that he could swallow) was necessary sometimes. Even Quan had said as much before he sent Ainsley on his little task.
At the darker individual's retort Ainsley could only shrug and concede. Oblivionites were as out of place on Serenia as he was on Soudul at that very moment. His thoughts on their empty eye sockets went unvoiced, considering while he wasn't out to make a friend, he certainly didn't need any enemies either. Especially considering it was two against one. It didn't seem like the other was willing to volunteer directions, so Ainsley gave an audible sigh and asked, "So, do you think you can help a guy out? It's a bit dark and I'm not too familiar with the paths."Tangled Puppet No worries~ To be fair, I'm not giving you too much to work with. XD; Sorry 'bout that.

Kilian let out a small sigh. He hadn't expected to run across someone lost let alone having to help someone get out of the forest. He knew what it was like getting lost in here though. The same had happened to him on several occasions when he was younger. Now, though, Kilian and Amadia knew this forest like the back of their hand and paw, respectively. This still didn't make the prospect of helping an Orderite out too appealing to him. Kilian grunted and crossed his arms. He wasn't the kind of Oblivionite to just leave the guy out here though. Darn his good nature. Sometimes he just wished he could forget the majority of those he met. So, while he wasn't keen on helping the Orderite, he would. Don't forget that Erionda is half Orderite. Amadia's voice intruded on his thoughts. Erionda. He'd forgotten that she had Orderite blood in her. Strange, how with some people you could just forget where they came from and only care about them as a person. A small smile flitted across his face before he hid it. "I guess we can help." Kilian said as he started walking off in the direction of the city. It looked like his and Amadia's training was over for the day. That was fine, it was starting to get late anyway. "So what is an Orderite doing on Soudul?" Kilian asked as he walked past the male. _ p a o cx Hehe, it's alright. Sometimes it's hard to get inspiration going. Is there anything in particular you'd like to happen in this RP?

The Oblivionite took a bit of time to think it over, in the meantime Ainsley, who had moved into a more lax standing positioned, stretched out a bit and loosened himself up. He'd gotten quite tense after thoroughly getting himself lost in the forest, so his muscles were starting to get a bit sore and bothersome. By the time the other had finally agreed (perhaps a bit begrudgingly, though Ainsley did catch a ghost of a smile cross his features for some reason), Ainsley was feeling a bit better. Good enough to even mutter a, "Thanks," although a part of him was hoping it went unheard.
As they began to head for what he hoped was the city, conversation was honestly the last thing on his mind, but he'd been impolite enough earlier. Add on the fact that he cut their training session short and that they were actually helping, so he couldn't exactly just ignore him. Thinking on his question for a bit, he figured an honest enough answer should do the trick. "Picking up something for my mentor," came his reply. The parcel remained tucked away in his coat though; he had no reason to prove anything, plus he didn't really know who this kid was. "Wasn't too happy when he told me, so I'm hoping I get to kick him around some when I get back to my own training."
Ainsley gave a smirk at that; he was slowly but surely getting better on the battlefield, though he was still a way's away from actually beating Quan in a mock fight. "So, you two were sparring? Wouldn't it be better to spar with someone other than a uh.. what are those things again? Drakein, right?" Damn his memory.Tangled Puppet I'm so sorry for the late reply. ;0; I typed it up this morning, it just so happened that my internet got disconnected just as I was about to hit reply because the subscription ended. lol My apologies for the shortness. ^^;
As far where to take this RP.. it seems like they're kind of okay with each other, so maybe some kind of friendly rivalry? Or at least the start of one? You know, who collects more dragon souls or something to that effect?

"Yes, she's a Drakein. A keindred to be exact, actually. She's not fully grown yet." Kilian looked at the boy perplexed. Were there really still those out there that didn't know much about the Drakeins? I guess it was understandable. Not everyone was probably as willing to bond with one. He had been one of those there for a while. He'd tried to reject the bond that Amadi and him had several times when they were both younger. Now, though, he was glad he had not succeeded in doing so. Amadia was his friend. His companion. He wasn't sure what he'd do without her.
"I suppose sparing with someone else would be better." Kilian shrugged as he said that. "However, I like to think that doing this helps us understand each others moves better. What better way to learn how to think and act together than to be put against each others moves?" He gestured to the worn path in front of them. "C'mon, this way back to the city."

He supposed the Oblivionite had a point, though to be completely honest Ainsley didn't think he'd ever go into battle with a Drakein willingly. Whatever the reason behind the other's bond with the Drakein though, Ainsley would likely be forever among those who simply didn't understand it. Considering the fact that they were partners in a sense, however, Ainsley had to shrug and once again concede to the darker individual's words.
"Fair enough," the teen verbally acknowledged, "though it might also limit you if you don't spar with other people with actual weapons." And that was all he had to say about that. When the Oblivionite pointed at a beaten path, Ainsley almost leapt for joy.
"So there is a path!" he said with a laugh as he began to follow his newfound company. "I've only been in the forest two or three times, and it's always been too dark for me to really see any much of anything, let alone a pathway." Ainsley fell silent after that, committing the path and it's surroundings to memory. It wouldn't help him if, the next time he was in the forest (assuming there would be a next time) he'd go and get himself lost again.

"I suppose you're right." Kilian said as he continued to walk along the path leading back to the city. "I've sparred with others before back in Soudul but never anything serious. Except once and she kicked my a**." He gave a slight chuckle as he remembered the first spar he'd ever participated in. It had been a good experience and he wished he could find Elleth again to repeat that match.
"Understandable. To someone use to the light, this forest must seem dark." He shrugged slightly. "Oblivionites do not have that problem though." He tapped the side of his face, right next to his eyeless sockets. "We have different ways of seeing." He smiled slightly and turned his attention back to the path in front of them. He'd lead the boy back to the edge of the forest but after that, he would be on his own.

"I've only got my own mentor to practice with, so we're almost in the same boat." It was true enough; he was too worried about losing a bit of what little pride he had in his abilities to confidently go up against anyone else, though Quan said it'd be a good idea to try every once in a while. Their conversation carried on, and Ainsley had to hold his thoughts in about the Oblivionite's eyes when they were pointed out.
"Well, I guess that's a good thing for me then," he said with a little smirk of his own. Things were quiet the rest of the way and soon enough they were at the dark forest's edge, much to Ainsley's relief. He went a few paces out and turned back to the Oblivionite.
"Thanks for the help," he called, then went on after a beat. "Name's Ainsley, by the way. If you're ever in that 'damned bright place' that I come from, I'll return the favor if you can find me." It wasn't all that appealing to be indebted to an Oblivionite, but better indebted than lost forever in that maze of a forest as far as Ainsley was concerned.
