Play it by Ear SOLO ~ Asclepius and the base
The Senshi of Medicine was building herself a base.
There was something to be said for senshi magic. Asclepius had furniture to move, and, by and large, she could move it all herself with relative ease once she henshined up. True, the sofa was unwieldy to get up to the room she had bought, but once it was there, she could move it where ever she needed to without even putting her legs into lifting it. The other furniture arrived with even greater ease by comparison: a large wooden table; a smaller, cheaper table with folding legs, and three similarly portable chairs; a small desk with two drawers; a miniature refrigerator.
Before the furniture arrived, there was a vast amount of cleaning. Senshi powers provided little assistance there, beyond perhaps that whatever stains her seifuku picked up from kneeling on the train while scrubbing floors and so forth simply vanished the next time Asclepius powered up. She had, at one point, tried her conjured medicine on a mildewy wall for sake of curiosity, but other than making the room smell herbally astringent, it had no apparent effect.
The process was relaxing, at least, and gave her time to think. Her mind wandered while she worked, and she contemplated just what she would be using this place for. First and foremost, the Senshi of Medicine wanted a place to store various samples she collected. Next time she went to the hospital asteroid, she wanted to bring back some of the glowing fungus. Perhaps she could even attempt to grow it on Earth ... assuming that there would be no negative repercussions for trying. Or for succeeding. And Asclepius could try again to extract anything of use for study from youma she fought.
She brought her laboratory equipment, though it was a small array of tools, hardly state-of-the-art. And she would be studying something here that had no real science before it - unless, for whatever reason, the mushroom books she purchased had information about extraterrestrial glowing mushrooms. She knew techniques, of course, to some extent, but biochemistry was not exactly her forte.
As long as she did not blow the room up, Asclepius supposed, it could not hurt to try, at least.
The previous place where she had attempted this work had also served as a meeting place, and a spot to exchange information. The senshi was not sure how to manage that. Well, locks, naturally, but beyond that. Pollux had been a manager - something Asclepius was certainly not. As soon as she started lending this space to others, she would become leader of it. An idea that did not exactly frighten the hazel-eyed girl, but it was not at all what she had expected to become. She had never been eager to step into leadership positions, even when she knew herself to be capable. She did not stubbornly cling to self-reliance, nor was it that she did not trust anyone else ... Asclepius just never thought of pursuing a leader's role.
But perhaps it was a natural progression. She knew herself to be responsible enough to maintain the room for herself. Asclepius could share it with a handful of allies, and maybe if one of them proved capable, she could hand off the leadership to them. Then she could go back to pursuing her own work.
Ultimately, though, she was not sure whether the room would become a meeting place, a command center, a laboratory, a field hospital, a storage room .... Asclepius had her immediate plans, of course, but for the long term, she might just have to "play it by ear".
