Seeing Vivi tonight...I realize how bad things truly became. That I
could become so distant from my friends? I need to make things

Their happiness hadn’t lasted, however, for he’d been cruel and now they both had their complications, one limping wherever they walked and the other hard of hearing and nearly blind. The pair had taken a lot but they’d stayed strong, defended their lady’s honour against all odds and finally the man had begun to back off. Little did they know it was not of their doing, but they felt proud none-the-less. Slowly his presence at the house dwindled to a few days a week, a few weeks a month, a few days a month, until he’d only be home once in a blue moon. They cared not where he went or for how long he’d go, only that it meant there was safety.
For a short time, they were safe and so was Doucette.
But now there was something new. Her smell was sharp, like sticking your nose in the snow and breathing in too quickly, cold and abrasive but not wholly painful, only strange. She drifted with a sense of purpose, poised and collected. Calm. Immediately Gabbana liked her, for there were no legs with which she could kick them with. Dolce felt more hesitant, wary of more newcomers to their home.
The girl without legs stopped and looked down at them, the ribbon that made up her lower body tightening so she could get closer to their level. Doucette said something to her and she looked both interested and confused before her hand drifted forward, lingering for a moment before resting atop Gabby’s head. Unaware that she was supposed to rub or scratch, she simply left her hand there, light but unmoving.
Doucette laughed and came over, showing her how to pet the dogs using Dolce as an example. Dolce gave a happy bark and nuzzled into Doe’s hand. Her woman seemed happy and that made her happy.
The newcomer would learn.

I met someone tonight, they were interesting. We parted
ways, but I hope to meet them again. They gave me something bright that
makes colours. I really like it.

I was able to meet Cesc again, and we rode on scary roller coasters.
I loved the way it felt to touch the sky and then fall.
It was nice to see Vivi again, though I no longer feel we are the close friends we once were.
Perhaps it is because I was distracted by my fear!
