Creedence of Clearwater (cat form)
HP: (6 auto damage) 44/50
Location: D4 > B4
Action: Fighting Pillar 1
Damage/Healing/Buff Done: (1d6 for punch, 10 + 1d6 laser beam)

Arriving at Dagon’s space beach, Credence looked around from Alekto’s arms and announced, “Whoa, this place sucks.” Even the skeletons…well, the skeletons were kinda cool. “Maybe we can keep one of these guys after you beat it up? For your place?”

Puzzles and fighting at the same time, right away, was pretty intense, but Creedence figured that it all just made for a better Alekto Enrichment Activity. Watching fungetons get busted by AOEs left and right, she motioned with her paw, “Look, see? That’s where we wanna get you, real Chosen One territory, you know? Anyway, as your like, genius guide and stuff I guess I should help out.”

The paw moved to point toward the first pillar.

A moment later she was peering so closely at the thing that her breathe fogged it up. Leaning in even closer she nodded and turned away, showing off a tiny nose print. "Yep. That's like, a really well built pillar."

Shaking her head, Creedence sighed, "They don't build pillars like that anymore." Thank god.

Sailor Alekto of Screams
HP: (6 auto damage) 44/50
Location: D4 > B4
Action: FIGHT
Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 7

Alekto, somewhat bewildered by the abrupt commencement of action, stood a little stupidly in befuddled silence while Creedence went about her business. This resulted in her only staring in confusion at the shambling approach of the fungal skeletons - her agape mouth matched by the one painted into her veil - and only shaking herself out of the reverie and into awareness at the last minute.

She put Creedence down in the usual way that one puts down a cat - by simply opening her arms and letting the Mauvian sort things out on the way down according to her own instincts - and darted sideways, forgetting for a moment that she had magical means at her disposal despite witnessing the impressive displays around her, and falling back on the simple expedient of hitting the s**t out of it, which yielded surprisingly good results.

"Bludgeon damage for skeletons and save your spell slots," she said in a slight panic, before she could incur a lecture for it.

Grieve of the Collapse
HP: (6 auto damage) 69/75
Location: D4 > E3
Action: FIGHT
Damage/Healing/Buff Done: (1d10 for punch) 8

"Team Dipshits it is then," Grieve chuckled and offered Joy a fistbump.

Their arrival on the shores of Dagon followed soon after. Looking the place over, she gave a grunt, "I bet this place has some fun fishing." Probably a lot of bones and belt buckles down there. Even if the bones are having a little ********' frolic up on shore.

The sight seeing would have to wait, though. Nerds moved to their corners and the bone walkers moved within reach. She heard Kua'kau's attack call before even noticing the girl herself, and held her breath. A moment later and several nearby enemies fell under the influence of those ********' flower petals.

"By Cosmos' quivering little-" Grieve gave an experimental cough and after a moment, decided she was unaffected by the attack. Another few of the creatures stumbled over. "Riddle me ********' this, who's got no guts, but still has a lot of spine?

Reaching through the rib cage of the nearest enemy. she gripped its spine like a handle and began beating another with it, bones falling off and splintering with each blow.

"This guy!"

Joyeuse Garde, Knight of Earth
HP: (6 auto damage) 94/100
Location: D4 > E3
Action: FIGHT
Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 6 + 10 = 16

Joy was not one to underestimate magic simply on the basis of its coming in a pretty floral wrapper. After all, the first crack of her whip unfurled a cascade of white flowers pouring out their perfume, racing along from her feet in the direction of the nearest skeletons, the vines coiling around one's lower limbs and slowing it down while the lash of her whip caught the other by the bony arm.

It was good that she'd been forcing herself to practice, even if it had mostly been to keep Gouvernail pliant and docile. It felt almost effortless to give the whip a little yank, and to drag one skeleton into its haplessly captured companion, toppling them both over.

She had more than once wondered exactly how different that burst of magic had looked a thousand years ago, save that she had been told that it was not as elegant or as beautiful, then. She had made that flippant comment that perhaps it changed to reflect its wielder, and he had mildly agreed to it - a comment that hadn't fully registered to her for the quiet admiration that it was until much later - but how true it had actually been she could not say.

But she had not thought, until that moment, that maybe there were people who could have drawn the comparison. Grieve had said, once, that she'd seen him kill before, and that he hadn't seemed to enjoy it very much. She had never quite had the temerity to ask him personally what that had looked like for him (and had therefore been shielded from the stomach-turning fascination that might have resulted from the image of him simply telling a helpless and terrified enemy to hand him the sword that Gouvernail would calmly kill him with, which perhaps was exactly what Grieve had seen) and she found herself unwilling to ask it now.

She couldn't help gloating a little bit, though. It was pretty. "When you're done doing snappy one-liners feel free to lavish compliments on me and my s**t," she sang out, neatly yanking her whip back.

Soyala, Guardian Cat
HP: 69/75
Location: D4, but will move with Muri!
Action: Fighting skeletons!
Interaction Roll: N/A
Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 4

Once they were in space, Soyala leapt off Murikabushi's shoulder and casually shifted into her humanoid form. It seemed there was little time to hesitate, and she was all too happy to leap forward and fight the skeletal creatures that had emerged.

Of course, she was only so strong--her swipes at the two creatures that came for her seemed to startle them, but not destroy them. Unfortunate. She stuck close to her Senshi, frowning.

"Lead on, darling," she said. "I'll follow where you go."

Deep Space Super Sailor Madriu
HP: 69/75
Location: B4
Action: Fighting skellies!
Interaction Roll: N/A
Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 8

It wasn't even a hesitation--Madriu followed Arcalis when he ran to go try the last column, the only one that seemed to remain unsolved. There were a few of them there, trying it, but the skeletons were still coming, and MAdriu was very capable of throwing a punch.

"You've got this," he encouraged Arcalis. He could have taken a shot at it himself, but someone had to get the enjoyment of grabbing a skeleton by the fungal rib cage and throwing it at another, and watching both crumble.

At least they only seemed to be able to grab and scratch or bite. Not a lot of complex thinking going on, by his judgement, which made life easier.

Deep Space Super Sailor Tianyi
HP: 69/75
Location: C3
Action: Using first stage magic!
Interaction Roll: N/A
Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 10 + 4 = 14

Of course there were monsters. The thought of sometihng like this appearing on his homeworld....it made Tianyi shudder. He'd barely explored it since waking up; what might have happened? What might have arisen?

But this wasn't his world, and this wasn't about him. The skeletons grabbed at his clothes, one yanked his hair, and he yelped, stumbling backwards.

Were they intelligent enough to follow commands? Tianyi wasn't sure. But he had to try.

He called on his amgic, felt it spread out around him, and gave only one command tot he two skeletons grasping at him.

"Fall," he said, and to his surprise, they collapsed.

Deep Space Eternal Sailor Dagon
HP: 88/100
Location: D2
Action: Fighting skeletons
Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 10

As two of three pillars clicked into place, they began to glow with a vibrant blue light, tracing through the carved images (a knife on the second, an anchor on the third). A beam emitted from the top of each, pointing directly at the basin, and Dagon grinned.

"Well done," she said. The monsters were falling, and there was a great dome of magic roots overhead--from outside, skeletons scrabbled against the roots, grasping and pulling in an effort to get past it.

"One more! Turn it until it lights!" Though that was easier said than done; the pillars were heavy and slow to rotate, and even though many of them were falling, the fungus itself had not dispelled.

And there was plenty for it to grasp to.

Skeletons reassembled, slowly but surely; bodies received new heads, creatures grasped for new limbs and repaired whatever bits of them were broken. It seemed they would fight on until they fell.

This time, she chose to preserve her magic--one skeleton grabbed for her ankles, and although its bony fingers gripped hard, she stomped it, kicking it away, and another that came for her at her side received a fist to its "face" for its trouble.

Squares should be treated as 5 feet by five feet, so please consider that when using magical attacks! All characters will arrive within one square of D4, (in any directions, including diagonal) and you may move two squares per round!

COMBAT MECHANICS:

Please review this post for dice mechanics!

Each character will be targeted by two fungal skeletons per round; these skeletons have 5 HP and will do 3 DMG each (6 DMG total) automatically. When destroyed, the skeletons will reform from whatever bone detritus they can find; this probably means they're going to get freakier the longer we go.

You may either attack the skeletons or attempt to solve the puzzle.

You may only do one of these per round, and may only make one attempt at doing so. Physical and magical attacks can both target all skeletons

PUZZLE MECHANICS:

If you choose to attempt to solve the puzzle, please declare which pillar you are attempting to solve and roll 1d6! you must match the number for the pillar you chose. Please do not change pillars if you happen to roll a solve for one you were not interacting with.

The numbers to match are:

Pillar 1: 5

Pillar 2: 6 SOLVED

Pillar 3: 3 SOLVED

Sailor Alekto of Screams
HP: (6 auto damage) 38/50
Location: B4
Action: PUZZLE FAIL

Touching the skeletons was actually pretty icky. Logically, she knew that she could just switch out for attacking them with the magical powers she was still somewhat in awe of, but she'd also just made excuses to the damned cat, and was going to have to save face. So she pretended as though her plan had always been to dance as much as she could out of their reach - with a little scream when her hair was pulled by bony hands - and attempt to make herself useful via her brain. This did not work as well as being useful via her fists.

Eternal Sailor Alastor
HP: 88 / 100
Location: D3
Action: Attacking skeletons
Interaction Roll: N/A
Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 8

Alastor could not resist any effort to purge Chaos, and he would have traveled to any world across the universe for a chance to do so.

Especially for Senshi as torn out of time as he was.

Though he did not know Dagon well, he had met her once and it was more than enough to know how important this was to her. He had promised back then, if there was anything he could do to help, he would.

And so, here he was. Sessrumnir was at his side, fighting uncanny skeletal amalgamations. It didn't matter how many he hit, or how hard he hit them, they just kept stitching themselves back together. In one piece, in many pieces, in one piece again.

It was a magic he didn't quite understand.

"I thought Chaos was supposed to be destructive," he said, glancing at Sessrumnir briefly. He'd wrapped his sleeves around his arms to keep them out of the filth, and either out of vanity or simply to test their durability, he was kicking the skeletons instead of pummeling them with his fists.

"So why is it putting these things back together?" Was this Chaos? Or did she have some other ancient magic on her world? --Where was Dagon to ask? Oh--busy, of course. Obviously. He'd ask later.

Alastor couldn't remember the last time he'd been intimidated by a fight, and every round he'd had on Earth lately felt like it ended too quickly.

Was he not supposed to be a little excited for an enemy that didn't know how to stay down?

Sessrumnir, Knight of Jupiter
HP: 88 / 100
Location: D3
Action: Attacking skeletons
Interaction Roll: N/A
Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 9

Sessrumnir knocked a skeleton’s head clean off with his sword… and watched it stitch itself right back on.

Perfect. Exactly what he wanted to deal with.

Alastor’s tone -- and he could tell there was excitement there -- earned him a glance that hovered between disbelief and reluctant amusement.

“Most people are alarmed when the enemy won’t stay dead,” Sessrumnir said, swinging his sword through another skeleton torso. “You look like you’re about to thank them for the cardio.”

A bone hand latched onto his boot. He kicked it off with a grunt.

“Chaos seems to destroy when it’s bored,” he added. “But if it can reanimate things to slow us down? Of course it will.”

He shook off a clump of fungus and skeletal remains and sighed.

“Try not to enjoy this too much.”

But there was the ghost of an unavoidable smirk in his voice. Alastor’s enthusiasm was infectious, whether Sessrumnir wanted it to be or not.

Lucien (Mauvian form)
HP: 63/75
Location: D3
Action: Attacking skeletons
Interaction Roll: N/A
Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 4

Lucien’s tail flicked as he returned to his place between Alastor and Sessrumnir, having attempted to scout the area. He came back with debris in his fur and regret in his expression.

“I see your enthusiasm remains… intact,” Lucien said, tone dry but warm enough that Alastor would hear the compliment beneath it. “Good. These creatures won’t keep up with you.”

Another half-formed skeleton dragged itself forward. Lucien intercepted it with a precise strike, knocking its arm off with a vicious bat of his clawed paws.

“Stay sharp,” he added, voice lower. “Not because I question your skill--” his eyes darted to Alastor with quiet pride, “--but because creatures that rebuild themselves tend to be… unpredictable.”

His tail swished as he positioned himself out of range of being stepped on.

He trusted Alastor to win any fight. Lucien’s job was simply to make sure nothing got a cheap shot while his bonded was enjoying himself.

Squire Regal of Chronos
HP: 69 - 6 = 63
Location: F4
Action: Attacking skeletons with physical attack
Interaction Roll: N/A
Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 2

Well, they were fortunate over here that someone among their ranks was able to figure out what to do with the pillar right in front of them. Others were apparently not so lucky a few yards away, but it barely mattered who was lucky and who wasn't, because they were all stuck here being attacked by the Chaos until it was solved, which was especially awful when Regal remembered that this was likely Chaos Lite on this world. Something worse was bound to come.

It always did.

"Where did..."

His crystalline eyes flicked across those gathered, landing after a moment on the target he was searching for, a few feet away. And while he hadn't known Lovas long, he had seen that particular intensity on his face only once before, right before he'd attacked Sawtooth. Which gave Regal the impression that was his 'I'm about to do something you won't appreciate'-face. And Regal had to get ahead of that.

He reached to snatch him back, tugging the Senshi back toward the third pillar, keeping with the group surrounding them. "You're not going to make it over there through all those bones. It'll be finished before you get there, and you'll have run off alone for nothing. Just be patient, Lovas..."

Deep Space Sailor Lovas of Fragility
HP: 44 - 6 = 38
Location: Moving to F4
Action: Attacking skeletons with physical attack
Interaction Roll: N/A
Damage/Healing/Buff Done: 6

He'd used his magic and knocked this conglomeration of bones apart, but it was hardly a few seconds- before they'd rearranged themselves- all of them, about as functional as they had been initially. "Wo~w," Lovas huffed, lips quirked into a slanted little smile. "What a perfect waste of time and energy." And probably not worth doing again, if it didn't Do. Anything.

And if he stayed over here, Lovas didn't think anything he did would 'do anything,' so he could... theoretically, go somewhere where he could at least try to accomplish something...

A soft, curious note slipped from his throat as he gaze toward the only pillar that hadn't been made to do... whatever it was supposed to do to help Dagon. It was Over There, across a field of fumbling, Chaos-fueled skeletons and the people still combating them. But surely being over there and trying to Do Puzzle was better than being over here and wasting energy fighting enemies that couldn't die because they were already dead.

Lovas wanted to go that way, but from behind something grabbed at his arm and pulled him back. And while he considered it marginally impressive for Regal to actually make a decision, it did not surprise him at all that 'the decision' was essentially to just wait? And do nothing but try and survive continuous attacks?

"Wait for what?" Lovas huffed. No one was even headed that way to help...

But there were closer people, and it would be difficult to get through the forest of bones... Lovas was already taking hits from them that looked like they did worse to him than Regal or the other girl with them, Morgan, he thought her name was. With a little pout, he rolled his shoulders in acquiescence and turned back to Regal. "Wouldn't it be hilarious if I died from Chaos on someone else's world."

The Squire's expression pinched into a little of a grimace as he grumbled, "Is that what it would be...?"

HP: 38/50
Location: D4 -> B4
Action: Attempting the puzzle
Interaction Roll: Pillar 1 -> rolled a 4, failed ):
Damage/Healing/Buff Done: N/A

Kua'kua never thought she would be grateful for what had happened to her homeworld, but watching the skeletons reform, she found herself suddenly very thankful that at least when she killed the strange, plant-infested zombies that had taken over her people, they had stayed dead.

She couldn't waste her magic on an enemy that couldn't be killed permanently (but she did see Grieve having a wonderful time of it - an unkillable, relatively weak enemy was like a gift to that one, Kua'kua thought) so she darted toward the last remaining pillar and, after a moment of contemplation, gave it a try.

Unsuccessfully. Kua'kua stared at the thing, a perplexed frown set on her face. It seemed immovable, but that couldn't be the case - the other two were activated without much issue, so why would the third be permanently stuck? No, this thing could be activated, but she had no idea how.
