Most of the time he is sarcastic and distant, making frequent jokes at others expense, but when he is alone with Añuli he transforms into a kinder, softer dog whose biggest worries are keeping her safe and maintaining her innocence.

History
When Ekwueme was an adolescent and Añuli a juve, Ekwueme's sister fell in the river and drowned. Needing a scapegoat and outlet for her grief, Ekwueme's mother blamed him and chased him from the pack. He wandered for a few days, angry and confused, before waking up one morning to find Añuli sleeping beside him. Still upset over his sister's loss and his mother's curses ringing in his ears, he tried to chase her off, but she always came back. He would get up in the middle of the night, not waking her, and wander away, only to have her rejoin him during the day. Eventually he gave in and came to enjoy her company, transforming into a protective guardian and friend.

About them: Añuli has a photographic memory and an uncanny ability to find her way to wherever she's going, even if she's never been there before. Despite this, she has a hard time learning new things and the mind of a child. Shy and innocent, she rarely speaks to anyone she does not already know, and gets confused and irritated if too many try to talk to her at once. She has a strong tendency to wander and is almost always happy, finding delight in the smallest moments.

He comes off as a little distant, but that's because he assumes everybody he meets is a ghost. Ghosts with flesh and blood bodies, but ghosts none the less. He lives near a river and is an excellent swimmer, spending most of his time on the side of the dead (the other side is the soon-to-be-dead side, so he doesn't consider it to be all that different) and is a bit of an apathetic loner. Oh he'll talk to you if you stop by to say hi, but don't be surprised if he wanders away half way through the conversation. He won't remember you later, or show any happiness at seeing you again.

History
One day when he was prowling the river banks he saw a lion cub getting swept downstream. He watched her for a bit before going on his way, but when she washed up on the soon-to-be-dead side of the river, something in him stirred and he swam over to check on her. She was still breathing, although unconscious, and for whatever reason he decided to care for her. He kept her in a den on the soon-to-be-dead side of the river, spending the day on the dead side of the river before swimming over every night to bring her some food and care for her. When she confessed that she had strange dreams about another blue lion like her, he urged her to seek him out, even if it broke his heart to lose sight of the only other living creature in all the world.

History
Tujil-dasu grew up happily enough in a wild dog pack, but left soon after her sister. She wandered for a while in search of her errant sister, but stumbled upon Tendaji instead and settled down as his protector.
