Govad was starting to lose patience with his banu quest. He hardly ever ran into pretty ladies and when he did they wouldn't go home with him. He missed his mother and sisters terribly and if he wasn't such an honorable hare, he would have hopped back home to see them. But as it was he was determined to continue his quest until he succeeded.
"My banu will the prettiest banu of them all," he muttered to himself, "and she'll have the sweetest voice and the nicest personality. And I'll make her my beybanu." Thus cheered, he hopped along across the savanna, paying no attention to the empty sky above him.

Mtalia was so glad to be an avian- she truly couldn't imagine life bound to the earth. The freedom involved in being able to simply hop up off a branch into the blue was wonderful, if one took the time to enjoy it. The lammergeier let the wind ruffle her feathers as her wide wings glided with ease through the air over the savannah. She was planning on just meandering around up here until... Her stomach reminded Mtalia of its presence as well as its emptiness. With a newfound vigor, the lammergeier turned her eyes to the ground, scanning for dead things as well as small living ones. While it was more typical of Mtalia to scavenge, she certainly wasn't above ending something small...
Something small like that little grey thing a little ways away. She watched it for a minute to ensure that it wasn't a rock- and it wasn't. It was moving. A hare, she supposed by the way it was moving. She chuckled to herself high in the sky, "Won't be moving for long~"
The lammergeier started to pull her wings in, allowing her to pick up speed in a descent- she would pick up more speed yet as she got closer to the little creature below...

Still talking to himself, Govad remained oblivious to the danger above. "... and then I'll kick the wicked kidnapper right in the stomach and he'll be all 'oh you're so brave and handsome' and so will she and she'll run off with me and OW OW OW!" he yelped as he kicked a rock. He hopped on a few more steps before stopping abruptly, leaving him several paces behind where he would have been if he'd kept running.

Mtalia was right on track- this little thing wouldn't know what hit it until she was airborne with it, talons deep in its flesh. Her mind was so intent on the impending meal that she noticed too late that that meal had effectively dodged her by stopping. She was going too fast, though, and it was the best she could do to land rather roughly on her feet before him, where the hare should have been. Irritated, Mtalia swiveled on her feet, wings not yet folded to her sides, to re-aim at her target. Though, with surprise no longer on her side... She wondered if this one would be catchable at all. Most hares had a whole to dart down, making them hard to catch if you didn't sneak up on them.
The lammergeier sighed and folded her wings by her sides, deciding she would catch some other foolish creature today for dinner. Or just scavenge. That was easier. She stared at him though- she could have some fun. She flapped her wings and took lightly to the air, using it more for a boost of speed forward as she jumped towards him, landing even closer. She'd pretend to try to catch him. No harm in a little toying before she took back off, right?

Govad's heart nearly stopped in his chest when the great big nasty bird landed right in front of him. That could have killed him! "Hey," he said as she hopped towards him. "Hey, what do you think you're doing?" Feeling a brief pang of fear he took a few steps back, trying to decide whether he should turn and run. He was faster than any hopping bird-beast on the ground, but he didn't want to look away and lose track of the bird-beast. "Stop that!" he shouted, glaring at the horrid thing.
