Maggie looked over to her brother when he asked her about the others at the event. She made a little "hmmm" sound as she pondered the question. What reason did they have to be mean in the first place? M-maybe they didn't like Bakeneko's for whatever reason? She knew some members of her race could be...very proud of themselves. There would certainly be a lot of adjusting for everyone involved.
"I think they'll be nice. Hopefully they'll be nice!" Maggie tried to sound confident when she answered, but she probably had the exact same worries as her brother. What if there was someone here who planned on being mean to them? Well, they'd just have to walk away. That was always the answer to bullies!
"Let's just try to have some fun!" Maggie steered Atoris in the direction of some of the games then and picked a bean bag toss to play herself. It seemed simple enough and she managed to win herself a cute little plushie. "See, fun!" She smiled and snuggled the little Nezebat plushie.
The locket Bailey gave her really was very cute! She couldn't wait to find the perfect picture of her parents to stow away in it. It really would just be great. While the gift made her think of them, she still kept a smile on her face for Bailey. It was amazing how cheerful he was being and Lori was determined to keep up with him. He couldn't be the only one cheering her up, she needed to do just the same for him after all! At least they still had each other.
"Let's get some chocolates, Bailey~!" She tugged on her brother hands and waited in line to snatch up some white chocolate candy boxes. They were really cute, it was a shame the candy would be gone before too long! But maybe she could save the bow for something later? She found a quiet-ish spot to hang out with Bailey while they ate some chocolates.

There was the Lori he knew so well! He was happy to see that despite the meaning of the day she was beginning to enjoy herself. He liked to think he was pretty good at putting her in a better mood! They were twins after all and twins knew how to cheer each other up. They might not have their parents anymore, but at least they had each other. For their parent's sake they would be happy!
"I could go for some chocolate!" Bailey tagged along with his sister as they waited for a box of chocolate candies. Lori had the biggest sweet-tooth of anyone else he'd ever known. So he let her pick out her favorites and he ate what she didn't like in the box. As they were snacking a pretty vespercat came over to get some pets. Looks like they added someone else to their family!

Leilah was certainly enjoying herself, even without the company of another Nightmare to keep her busy. She had a lot of friends to find gifts for after all. The games were a ton of fun too and despite being fairly terrible at a good number of them playing was what mattered. If she didn't win it didn't really bother her that much.
She was surprised when someone approached her, and Imp like herself, and claimed that she was such a beauty. Leilah blushed of course and accepted an arrow with a little letter attached to it from him. He didn't stick around but when she unfolded the note she found his number written on it. Boys were so cheesy, weren't they? Still, it was nice to know that she was admired. Whether or not she'd get around to calling that number was another story though.
Anyone!

Gaeleath had found himself at a booth full of beautiful looking flowers. They were all enchanted so that they wouldn't wilt but in a way that also made him sort of sad. It was naturally for flowers to die at some point. As a part-Fey himself he had a little bit of magic that could help them grow. Though, he ability wasn't nearly as strong as that of his Fey mother's.
As he was browsing through the flowers a little fluffbug cam buzzing over. A real fluffbug! Not just a plushie, but the real thing! He had always wanted one, surely his parents would be okay if he brought one home with him, right? He held his hand out toward the little familiar and was thrilled when they seemed to like his company. Well, he was part plant after all! It was so cute too! He couldn't have been more ecstatic about the little critter.
Verve had gone from one booth to another, fiddling with the locket dangling around her neck. Eventually, she caught sight of something more in the color scheme she was looking for. The chimera would have preferred something darker but eh, she wasn't given much choice. Selecting the green ring from the other designs, Verve slipped the piece of jewelry in her pocket for when she ran into a certain fallen.

Charmstar briefly ducked out of the festival because while the flowers wouldn't wilt because of the enchantment, there was no guarantee it wouldn't get accidentally crushed in the crowd. He left the bouquet in his dorm to give to Lavi next time and came back ready to continue looking at things. He eventually settled for a bag of candy, to give to a certain pink demon he hadn't seen in a while.
"So, other than meeting me, and getting a butt-load of plushies, has anything else good happen to you?" The baphomet grinned cheekily, "If you getting one'v these familiars pose a prob, lemme know. Mebbe we can get you a different familiar. 'Course the alternative is to get a stuffed versio-" There was a FOOMP and as the other Nightmare mentioned, the plushie-cannon had taken aim and a plushie smacked into Shard's face. The coatl slithered lower to coil around Shard's arm out of the way while the pale-haired senior removed the plush. His expression suggested if he ever found the operator of said cannon, someone was gonna get a face full of baphomet horns.

Shard now blames Gany for introducing him to the plushie cannon but I love it <3

Narra didn't think much on the switch in topics, Topaz did have a habit of going on all sorts of tangents and he'd come to expect it. Also, "A hot drink would hit the spot." He offered his arm to the baphomet, despite the fact she was taller than he, "So we don't risk getting separated," was his simple explanation for the gesture. A daydream passed by carrying a tray of flowers and Narra deftly managed to pluck one rose, the color a soft pink. "I don't know if the meanings in Below are the same in Above, but pink is for Appreciation. And this is for you."

Trixie nodded, softly saying "Y-yes, you said. I don't have any shorter version of Trixie though." Then her brain finally processed what the fey said and the blush spread from her cheeks to the rest of her face. "A date with me? Are you sure?" It wasn't that she didn't find him cute but she wasn't sure what sort of activity they could do together. She didn't think the fey would enjoy swimming in heated pools and she couldn't fly. But she fidgeted and thought, "O-okay. What did you have in mind?"

Wayne could tell he was being sassed and folded his arms across his chest, trying to look authoritative. Which might have been better if he wasn't currently holding a vespercat plush in his arms but hindsight was twenty-twenty. He didn't let that stop him though, "Name's Wayne. And if you can't see me then you oughta getcher hair cut. Is that your seeing-eye wisp? You oughta get a bigger familiar for that sorta job, like a fennekit or something 'cuz a spectrefox'll be too big for you." Hark at the freshling, talking like he was some sort of expert. A nearby caretaker heard his little speech and found him funny enough to drop a plushie atop his head.
Wayne could only hope that Lilo was indeed unable to see him and how silly he must look with a little fluffbug on his head.

Li is perf and presh and Wayne needs someone to be sarcastic at him. I apologize for his grumpy, know-it-all butt

Renge just grinned, far too delighted with the eye-candy in front of her. "I know I've seen two good things at this festival~" she said with a wink to the fey and the hybrid. "And ooooh yes! Going in groups is so much more enjoyable than wandering around alone. I'm Renge and I'm actually looking for my big brother, Narra. He's a dryad." A beat. "I think he's on the verge of being not-single." She giggled conspirationally.
"So I don't mind not finding him too soon, if you know what I mean." Antennas and eyebrows were waggled. "I like the idea of crafts! I'm no good at them but I like watching others work their magic."
And speaking of magic, one of the aforementioned baskets with trinkets and goodies passed by and Renge snagged one for herself.
Meliae tilted her head, looking at the girl carefully. She wasn't quite sure what to make of her, just yet. "You like to study the stars?" She was definitely going to have to get over her fear of other people if she didn't want to miss out on things. Meliae almost felt sorry for her, she couldn't imagine what it must be like to be that afraid of things. "Well, I'm sure there are other games we can play. What about Ring Toss? I think I saw a booth for it over that way." She pointed. It was across the intersection which meant they'd have to cross the swirling mass of people. Meliae wasn't trying to be cruel, but she did want to see how the girl would handle it so she could gauge how much help she needed.

((Note mostly to myself: Going to assume that Eli went back to his dorm to drop off him plushes and 2 wisps he got. And he returned with his cutie wittle flitterat.))
Eli had dropped off his prizes at his room and decided to return to the festival to check out some more of the festivities. He initially thought it was going to be a bore, but after looking around, he found it to be rather refreshing. He couldn’t wait to later write to his mother about it! And tottering around, he was amazed that it had gotten busier since when he initially arrived. He had to squeeze between some students now – something that was certainly not an issue only a couple hours prior. The demon was getting ready to find another plushie to stake his claim on when he caught sight of another freshling that looked much different than he; instead of having two legs, the student had a large…stump thing….that he appeared to just slide around on. Was it some sort of blanket he wrapped around himself? Unable to control himself, Eli sauntered up to the freshling and placed his hand firmly around the end of the tail, yanking on it to see if it’d fall off. It seemed to be on firmly though. Did the freshling maybe have a belt on very tight or something? He studied the tail, clearly confused, and equally unaware of the discomfort he might be causing the poor naganeko.
Eve glanced at the books again to try and find another hidden gem in the bunch when she noticed a purring against her leg. Looking down she saw a vesper cat snuggling up against her. Smiling she reached down and scratched its head. After a while of petting she realized this cat wasn’t going anywhere. She wondered if it would get along with Mr. Squeakers. She hoped so though she might have to start putting him in a cage more. Frost wing didn’t seem to mind the vesper cat at all. Moving away from the book stall she wasn’t surprised when the cat followed.
Gifted from honi pi’s verve to Eve and I’m placing it here so I don’t forget it
Chessy watched Delilah play the game and grinned. As the grimm managed to land a ring on the bottle, Chessy started whooping and cheering and… Just being over all loud. Like some kind of cheerleader tryout that had just a little too much team spirit to get on the squad. “Nice one!!” At being given the bracelet, the imp’s eyes widened slightly as she admired it. She normally didn’t wear blue, but she couldn’t argue that blue was a very pleasing color. Plus, she really loved shiny things. “Thank you, Delly! I bet it’ll match the ring I got earlier, too~” she cooed out, slipping the blue bracelet on her wrist and holding it up. “So, what do you think? Super pretty?”
“Oh, so do you draw or paint or something?” she asked, genuinely curious. The fey was happy to know that the freshling appeared to have a good relation with his parents; nothing was more concerning to the fey than a freshling who felt neglected by their parents. She followed him to the flower game and her eyes lit up as he picked up the rose up and offered it to her. “Aww, thank you!” she said, taking it from him and examining the delicate rose carefully. It was beautiful – she couldn’t wait to find a place to put it in her room. “That’s really sweet of you, Chau.” Just as she said that, she felt something rub against her legs. A little taken back, she looked down to see a small jackalope affectionately cuddling up to her legs. “W-woah, look at this cutie,” she said, picking up the jackalope and cradling it in her arm.
“A-ah, ok.” Phaedra felt her cheeks redden slightly. She was never really the type to seek attention, and Pandora was really nice. A day all about me! What does that even mean... she thought to herself. Poking her fingers together, she mumbled, “You’re really cool too. L-like a lot cooler than me…” The demon looked at the guitar case curiously and reached out a hand to feel it. “Does it get heavy carrying your guitar around?” she asked. Having the flitterat deposited on her shoulder, she grew a little jittery, obviously overly excited. Tilting her head so she could get a look at the rodent, she smiled at Shim. “Hello Shim. Pandora is gonna be my big sister, so that means you’re gonna have to get along with me and Flik. But don’t worry, we don’t bite,” she said to the flitterat, matter-of-factly. Flik, pleased that he was getting attention and fed, made a coo-like sound and nibbled at the apple.
Kroll thought about it for a moment and ended up snagging another vesperplush for her horde. If she was going to collect she was going to do it right. Picking up a purple one she held it with the blue one she just got. She was feeling lucky and a bit like a pack rat. Mm perhaps she should look at getting something else from the festival? There were some really nice pretty stones she had seen before. She started to head toward other booths.

Still tumbling after the coatl, the freshling came to a halt, or rather, was forced to halt, thanks to a conveniently placed wall. They stared at the small gap at the bottom that the coatl slithered under and puffed their cheeks. How were they supposed to chase the coatl now? Standing up and rubbing their head, they reacquainted themselves to their surroundings and noticed a game booth with a variety of prizes – rocks, candy, plushies… Their eyes zoned in on a fennekit plush that shared colors similar to theirs. I need it, they told themselves as they walked up to the booth and grabbed it. There was protest from the booth host, but the words fell on deaf ears, as small Zephyr was already skipping away victoriously.
As if answering her previous question, a white and red kitty sauntered up to her, all smug like. “Geeze, it really is like a family up in here,” she muttered. Glancing at the four vespercats, plus her own Arkham, she suddenly felt a little swarmed by the cats. “Maybe I should head off before more arrive,” she muttered, scratching the back of her head. She wondered what even lured the felines over to her – it’s not like she had some sort of cat attraction spray on her. Feeling Arkham shuffle in her backpack, she unzipped it, and he leaped out. Glancing inside the backpack, she could see at the very bottom, a box of vespercat treats. Oh. That’s why.
Laina’s sweet tooth was getting the best of her; after acquiring the jackalope plushie, she could not help but glance back to where she got the chocolates. “Time for round 2 I guess…” she said to herself, shuffling over to the candy booth. Eyeing the variety of bundled candies, she picked up the sweethearts. She loved these and unfortunately, they were only made during this season so better get her fix of it now rather than later! Scooting away from the booth, she found a place to sit and proceeded to pop some of the candies in her mouth. “mmm~”
"Sounds good.." Kara started to feel like she was a bit of a third wheel. She didn't want to completely abandon Odessa, but she couldn't help but feel like she was in the way since Lazarus seemed like he didn't want to completely leave Kara out. She was thankful for that, but at the same time she couldn't help but feel like she was ruining her friend's chances. "Well... they seem to kind of do that." She patted the head of her vespercat, smiling softly. "Well, I think I saw a friend of mine off that way. I think I'll let you guys catch up for a bit, maybe we can meet up for some food later? Odessa has my number." She made up an excuse to remove herself from the situation. "It was nice meeting you Lazarus!" She gave Odessa a wink before disappearing into the crowd.
