“Is the little critter alright?” Mai asked having stood by her brother’s side while he reassured the bat. They had always both been good with animals but her brother had always been better. Of course it made sense really. He was a rather charismatic take charge type of person so obviously animals would pick up on it as well. She also wasn’t at all upset that it had chosen her brother either. She had her own two fluff balls. Still they needed to get to the festival and things kept conspiring to keep them at Mai’s dorm. Maybe this is why they didn’t go to festivals because the universe was trying to stall them.
However no matter what her previous thoughts had been they did eventually get to the festival. She had known it was going to be packed but this was way past what she was used to. Then again they had just gotten new students. Students who were convinced they were the only people in the world so it made sense they’d all be out in throngs trying to see what life here was going to be like. However shopping at the stalls was first. She’d have a small panic attack about all the people later.
“you should get something from that stall”
With Arella finally calmed down and sitting on his shoulder they could finally make their way to the festival. He was a bit worried for Mai considering her aversion to crowds, but as long as she had a friend she seemed to be okay. However he really shouldn’t have been that surprised that the first thing she demanded was to go over and shop of all things. Ah well it was spending time with her even if shopping was one of his more disliked activities.
He had to frown even deeper when he realized what stall she had picked. Staring at a bunch of lockets, necklaces and rings he eventually leveled a glare at his sister. He didn’t have any one to give these two and they were a bit too heart like for his tastes. Still maybe he could give it as a gag gift to one of his associates if nothing else. Plus buying something would probably make mai happy and there was a gold ring. Maybe he could wear it and pretend he was off the market.
“Yeah of course I would be happy to pass on the thanks to mom. She would be happy to get you some as well if you like it.” Leto replied. He was pretty sure Jaden would after all it was tasty to him and it took a lot to ruin a good hot chocolate. It was then that something hit him on the back of the head. He ended up dropping Chani… which of course earned a very nasty hiss and a squeak from Spice as the poor Nezubat was also dislodged. Seeing as chani was now trying to chew it up he reached down to rescue the object. Once he realized what he was holding he frowned.
Oh they weren’t going to do this again where they. He had quite enough of the plushie throwing last year. Still it was a cute nezubat plushie and obviously it was no longer wanted. Leto was quite happy to add it to his collection. Dune after all looked very lonely and Leto was all for having company. No one should be alone after all especially stuffed plushies. It was also purple and matched Spice. A fact that spice had picked up on if the Nezubat's stare was any indication.
Cimara nodded not saying much else about their meeting in the past. He turned back to look down at Natsumi and then up at Aqua again "I needed something bright in my life and since I am terrible at social interaction, I decided having a little one on my own was a logical choice." Cim nodded and sat down with Natsumi. "I have been having poor sign up numbers in my class, but there is little I can do about that, how is your class going??" Cimara frowned as he looked over at a shop selling familiars "Do you think familiars are safe for little ones??"
Cybelle went to a game of balloon darts, he focused on the balloons and took aim. Then he let the dart fly, he only won a small prize but at least, it was better than nothing. Cybelle sat down off to the side to eat his brownies and take a break from everything. Cybelle had never been very good at making friends, he preferred to keep to himself for the most part, but part of that was mostly because he had trouble connecting with his own kind and feared others wouldn't like him, since he had no grand plans to dramatically refuse the arranged marriage his parents had set up. If his betrothed showed up he's just tell them no thanks.
Wren picked up a hammer and hit it down as best he could on the strength tester. He grinned brightly as it hit the top. Wren picked out a cute plushie, it looked like a little white bug with hearts on its wings. Wren was very proud of himself for showing his skill at the game and winning his little prize. He still hoped that he would find someone to share the festival with, but at least now he was having fun. he wondered if there might be a cute person he could give his plushie to so they could become friends. Wren wanted a friend badly.
Hailey was just stunned speechless -- something that is not an easy feat at that -- by what he had said and the gift that was being held out to her. Her boyfriend looked absolutely terrified, but she had no idea why. Finally her excitement began to show as she grinned widely and snitched it right out of his fingers! "Eeeee!" was the only sound that managed to escape from her.
He shouldn't have been, but when the ring was stolen from his hold, Malachi was actually shocked. But probably more so because his girlfriend wasn't trying to kill him for the butt comment. Her shriek made him laugh, and he quickly reached out, snitching the ring back with a grin. "Tisk, tisk... Trying to steal my moment." Before she could protest, Malachi snitched up her hand and slid the ring on her finger, giving a quick but sweet little kiss to the top. "Love you..." he whispered shyly.
Surprisingly, because it pretty much just never happens, Hailey was close to tears. Her Malachi was just too much and so full of surprises. She fidgeted on her feet as she tried to keep him from seeing the fact she was tearing up. Chewing on her lip a little, she quickly pulled away and made a mad dash in the opposite direction, leaving a very confused Malachi standing there alone.
But just as quickly as she rushed off, she came right back and holding -- with a cringe and a slight look of terror -- a flitterat out to him. "I love you, too!... now please take this thing before I barf!"
Malachi just about cracked up as she was holding onto the rat, taking in the sight before reaching out and snitching the gift up. "Man... I feel loved big time." he said, snickering. Placing the rat on one shoulder, he turned the opposite one her way, wrapping his arm around her and kissing the top of her forehead.
After stuffing his face with brownies for a while, Dodger sat down and pursed his lips, sighing. He had been so excited for this time of year to come up, but all he was right now was depressed. Sulking for a few more minutes, the grimm decided to finally try a game or something to liven up his spirits!... that would work to help get him out of his slump, right? Finding a game near by that seemed interesting, Dodger stepped up and gave it his best shot. Though, turns out that at this moment in time, his best shot wasn't that great. Damn. It was this slump he was in! It was just totally throwing off his game! Shaking himself out, Dodger told himself in a chant 'step it up. do better. kick a**' over and over a few times. This next game he was determined to win!
With an all too amused grin, Matty spun himself back into Ryker's hold, giving a hip-bump as he did. "Hmmm... Well I might poke you with it for fun, but I think I saw a super cute guy over there that I could poke with." Smirking, the goblin waggled his brows again, then laughed. "By the by..." he said as he looked up at Ryker. "POKE!" and laughing, he snuck a jab in with the arrow on his roomie slash date. "Gotcha!"
Laughing, he quickly peeled away for fear of retaliation! But just as quickly as he planned his get-a-way, his eyes caught sight of something shiny and adorable. "Oooo!" Snitching the trinket up, Matty paid for it and turned right back around, heading back to Ryker... not that he got too far from him in the first place. "Here you go, baby~ Maybe we can stick some of our goofy selfies in there." and he gave a most amused smirk at the thought.
Terribly amused by her new pet, Pawsa continued to make squeaky sounds at it while it debated on whether or not it should try biting the plush of its new owner. Deciding that she had annoyed her new critter long enough, Pawsa grinned and decided it was time to hunt for some new pet things!... Though she wasn't one hundred percent sure if this party was the best spot to find anything else for it...? Well regardless, there was a very pink and pretty rock that had caught her attention. "Oooo! How about something like this for your new home?" she asked the snake as she picked up the rock and inspected it. "Yeah... I think it'll be really pretty for your new home, Charma~"
As Mai Tai had been contented with just her plushie, Ezekiel found himself not as kosher with that. Sure she was a tired sort, but she still shouldn't be not trying. Deciding he would remedy the situation, Zeke found a bracelet that matched his own. Taking Mai's hand, he slid the beaded jewelry on her wrist and then let go. "There... Now you have something a little more than just a plush. You should really try to enjoy more of the party, silly thing."
Mai Tai wasn't exactly sure as to what just happened until she raised her arm, glancing at the bracelet on her wrist now. Ezekiel wasn't very patient most days it seemed. Smiling, she offered a soft 'thank you' to him before going back to admiring the gift.
Callie had found herself looking to pick up a bag of candies when the sound of a voice right beside her startled the neko. With a jump and a hiss, she turned quickly to see a little white rose being held out. Her now widened eyes looked between the flower and the face belonging to the one holding it as her tail whipped side to side for a few second. Wait... what was going on? She was feeling somewhat confused by this. Was he giving it to her? Then again, what little of his introduction that she caught on to would suggest so. Cautiously she reached out, watching for any signs that would suggest otherwise before accepting the rose, taking it in her paw. "Th... thank you?" she said.
Callie was still pretty confused but offered a shy smile. "It's, uhmm... very pretty. I'm C... ah... ahhh..." and then she sneezed! Embarrassed as all get out, she covered her face, peering out between her fingers. "I'm... so sorry. I sneeze when I'm, uhmm.. nervous." Letting her paws lower some, she peered out over the tips of them just in case a sneeze happened again. "I'm Callie." Oh good! She managed not to sneeze again. Remembering what she was doing in the first place, Callie turned and grabbed up a bag of candies, holding them out to the... grimm she thought from what little she had learned before this. "Want some candies?" Even though the neko felt a bit more at ease, she still semi-hid behind the paw holding the rose.
The freshling wandered around some more, with his new small orb companion floating behind him. He smiled contently to himself; his experience here was turning out to go fairly well. As he moved up and down the area, Eli noticed a booth that he wasn’t initially aware of, thanks to the squeals of an overly jubilant fey – some sort of game where you have to knock the bottles down. Moving over to it, his eyes zoned in on the prizes – from small trinkets to plushies to even pets! He certainly had to play it now. Picking up a ball, he tossed it with all his might, and was able to knock down a bottle. Content, he picked a flitterat plush to go with the flitterat pet of his – he hoped the little squeaky fella would like it.
Letting out a soft giggle, the hybrid smiled affectionately at the new feline – something about these furry companions was just so therapeutic for her. Phiffion scratched the critter behind its ears, and was rewarded with it emitting a deep purr. “What a good fella,” she said quietly. Her affectionate treatment of the vespercat proved to be beneficial – moments later, she felt something rub against her legs. Looking down, she could see another vespercat begging for attention from her. He resembled the previous one: a white body, but with blue splotches instead of purple. Leaning down, she ruffled his head. “You wanna be my friend too?”
"Of course I do otherwise you'd never get out of that dorm of yours" Ivory also picked up a locket turning it over in her hands. "These are pretty" she smiled and showed her sister the one she had picked up.
"Yeah but I would get an aweful lot of studying done if I just stayed in my dorm room, and I need to do that if I want to get into university... and so do you" she plucked up stone
Nylea ran from one person to the next and the next, eventually coming to a stop next to a orange haired boy freshling. "Hi hi hi...." she bounced happily on her feet and looked at what the boy was doing "Wha'cha doin?" she asked with curiosity overflowing her emotions.
Arivan munched her goodies for a few minutes looking around herself as she did, across the room she spied a boy with wings munching on a different type of treat, standing up she moved through the crowd and slipped up near him "Tradsies some?" she asked holding a hand out with a candy on her palm towards the boy.
Mitsie avoided most of the people there in the room, she stopped to play a couple games but wasn't very good at them and left them empty-handed.
Tempest idly played with the wings of her new plushie and wandered through the crowd and eventually stopped to play a game winning a cute purple ring.
There was so many good treats at the party and he wanted to try them all, having yet to find anyone to visit with he instead opted to try some dark chocolates.
Chessy raised an eyebrow at the grimm before chuckling. She seemed so flustered over something that was a complete accident. And her dark face had turned so red! It made Chessy curious to know if she could become even redder. Clapping a hand on the grimm’s back cheerfully, she replied, “Don’t worry about it! You’d have to try a loooot harder than that if you wanted to mess me up.” Grinning, she moved her arm so it was wrapped around the grimm’s shoulders. Perhaps it was too intimate of a motion, considering they had just met – but Chessy very rarely was able to recognize personal boundaries. “So, what’s your name, Red Cheeks? I’m Chessy.”
