☠ On Top, For Once ☠
"Is this what it feels like to get ahead in life?"
Porsha's hands were tingling, her head was buzzing, and she had more energy now then she'd ever had, even after a cup of coffee from Jude's cafe. She was exhilarated, almost to the point of being giddy. She hadn't dissolved into giggles yet, but hell, she was close. The grin that had bloomed on her face from the second she'd felt her new power hadn't faded, and it wasn't likely to go away anytime soon. In all of her life, short though it may be, she couldn't recall having ever felt so... Happy. Sure, the promise of power was thrilling, but this, being part of the negaverse, this gave her a purpose.
A discarded pop can went flying along the sidewalk as Porsha aimed a well placed kick. Smiling smuggly as it bounced off a parking bloke in the adjacent lot and disappeared under a car.
It was a shame the night had had to end so early. Sure it was late, but Porsha would have loved to stay with General Painite so she could have learned more. Of course had she not returned before her mother woke up there would have been hell to pay, so perhaps it was for the best. Still, Po was eager to explore the range of her new found power, and she couldn't wait for her next encounter with the one who'd awakened her into this new, purposeful life.
That too made this whole thing all the better. Despite being a drop out, Po was actually very hard working. She loved the seeming militairy heirarchy of her new found family, and the eventual chance to climb that ladder. She was ambitious, she'd do well. It was only a matter of time. All Porsha had to do was prove her worth, and considering her already impressive skills in a fight, she didn't see that being much of a problem.
Withdrawing her hands from her pockets, Po closed her fingers, tightening her fists before letting them relax again at her sides. She wasn't sure if it was in her head or not, but she would have sworn she felt stronger since her meeting with Painite. It wasn't enough though, it never was. Porsh would continue to frequent the gym, to keep in shape, to keep herself healthy, and to make she her skills never rusted. If anything, she now had even more of a reason to pound the heavy bags. Being a lieutenant was amazing, but even just hours old, she was already looking eagerly towards the future.
As she moved into the worn down streets of her neighborhood she wondered how she was going to find the general again, but of course, it would probably be Painite that would come to her. Porsha couldn't wait for their nest encounter.
