The tape Porsha had wrapped around her hands and knuckles was beginning to tear away, battered and beaten to within an inch of it's life between the girl's fists and the heavy bag she was currently taking out her frustrations on. There'd been a fight early that between Poe and her mother. There was a fight nearly every night these days, but tonights had been especially infuriating.

It was the same old argument, lectures on how she needed to find a job if she refused to go back to school, and Porsha had not been in the mood. There had been some unfortunate words exchanged, and in the end the teen had stormed out and into the night, hell bent on blowing for some steam.

She knew why her mother was being such a pain in the a**, it didn't take a genius to figure it out, but she was just sick of hearing about what a dead beat she'd turned into. It wasn't as of she hadn't been looking for a job, she was. Not hard, but even lax effort counted for something. That part time gig at the pawn shop had seemed promising at least, the guy had promised to call back in a few days to let her know.

Growling, the teen slammed her fist into the bag, then again as it swung back towards her. Over and over again until the tape had all but worn away and her knuckles were raw and bleeding from rubbing against the battered nylon.

This wasn't her usual hunting ground, but Painite thought she'd take a chance and enjoy some new scenery. She chose this... gym? Or whatever it was, but it seemed to be completely devoid of life. Closed for the night, perhaps, which was a bummer. She sighed, having taken the time to teleport in and everything.

Not that it had taken any time, but still.

She heard the echo of something, like a thud, and followed it down a hall, past some rooms with yoga mats scattered on the floors. She entered a larger training area, and spotted a young woman at a bag.

She looked upset. Not paying attention. That was good.

Painite didn't have a plan or a trap set, but that was fine. She could do this the old fashioned way. She was alone with this girl, and she had no where to run. Humming, Painite cut the silence.

"Did that bag do something to upset you, pet?"

The gym was supposed to be closed. The only reason Porsha happened to be lingering about was because she'd managed to sweet talk the owner of the place into letting her hang out so long as she promised to lock up properly when she left. It was a win-win situation for the both of them. Porsha had a place she could go to unwind, and the gym owner got a pretty teenager hitting on him in front of his buddies.

So considering the time of evening, the fact she'd bid adue to Carl(the owner) over an hour ago, it was safe to say Poe hadn't been excepting the voice that cut through the near silence, and she responded as any normal person would.

She screamed, whirled on her heels and pulled back a fist with the intent to slam it into the face of the person that had snuck up on her.

Two things kept this from happening. The first being the actual words Painite had said, mainly the 'pet' comment. And the second, and probably leading factor, being the distance between them. She stared across the empty mats of the training center towards the other woman, and gray eyes narrowed as she took her in. What the ******** was she wearing?

Lips pursed, she let her hands lower so she could cross them over her chest. "It startled me," she answered testily after a moment or two. The embarrassment of having a scream scared out of her making her temper flare.

"Who the ******** are you, and how did you get in here?" The second part of that question was really the more pressing point. She knew damn well Carl had locked the doors when he left.

Painite was not keen on getting punched in the face, but she didn't have too much to worry about. As a General of the Negaverse sneaking up on a run of the mill civilian, she only felt the thrill of fun that came with playing with her food, so to speak.

That, and she wasn't actually close enough for it yet.

She grinned at the response, sauntering closer.

"Did it? I take it that's a thread, then? I'd love to see you take a swing at me, though. Show me what you can do." She didn't answer the girl's other questions, noting immediately that she had fire in her eyes. It was easy to distract Painite sometimes. Not only did she like to monologue and gloat, as any super villain was wont to do, she also kept her eyes open for that spark in others. Potential.

She wasn't sure yet, but she had the inclining that she might be seeing it here. She continued to get closer.

"Do you still feel startled?" she asked coolly, stepping right into Porsha's personal space, as if she had been invited.

Yes, that had been a threat, though Painite's reactions to it were not what Porsha had been expecting. Not only did she not appear to be scared at all, but she also seemed to be baiting the teen. This had dark lips pressing into a thin line.

For a moment or two she didn't move, merely listened, but then the general was walking forward, invading the hell out of Poe's personal space, and considering their conversation up to this point, it wasn't taken gracefully. Both of Porsha's hands rose, smacking into the other girl's shoulders to push her back and away, but she didn't really move when hit. That was puzzling, and it earned Painite a warily curious look.

Whatever, so the broad was tough. Didn't matter.

"No, now I'm just pissed. What do you want?" If Painite really wanted Poe to start throwing punches, she wouldn't have to do much else to provoke her. Fighting was the teens go-to reaction to most things that angered her. It was only a matter of time before she dissolved into that here.
PostPosted: Thu Dec 22, 2011 12:02 pm

Painite smiled.

It wasn't every day a civilian target could catch her interest in a way that spared them from being terrorized, or just immediately drained. She watched the girl and tilted her head to the side. A smirk still lighted on her lips, and she nodded thoughtfully at the response.

A good, hard shove did nothing to upset Painite, but rather make her laugh as she took one step back a full beat after the hit. Out of courtesy. Porsha should say thank you, but the General had the suspicion that she wouldn't.

She called her weapon to her hand. Staff Corporal Saddles was a long spear, with a dangerous looking point at the head that had glowing purple runes carved into it. She held it leisurely, imagining the fact that a dangerous looking weapon appearing from no where was as intimidating as if she were pointing it at the girl.

"Pissed huh? You've got a fast temper. Do you even have any idea what I am?" She needed to know if this girl had any feelings toward the 'terrorists' of the city. If she wanted to join the fight against them.

Porsha wasn't entirely sure how to take that step back. It obviously hadn't been a result of the shove, so either the other girl was humoring her, or being incredibly condescending.

Actually, either one of those was enough to have the sullen teen scowling. She didn't need pity steps from no.. whatever it was she was.

She was still trying to work that out when Painite called a weapon to her hand out of thin air, and while it wasn't being pointed at her, Poe still felt the hairs along the back of her neck standing at attention. Adrenaline rushing in to send her pulse into over drive as she stared at the sharp, glowing tip at the end.

Okay, so perhaps picking a fight with the oddly dressed stranger wasn't the wisest idea.

She didn't back down though, not by movement or expression, and instead folded her arms across her chest once again, weight shifting to one hip as the general questioned her. "Not really, though I'm guessing you're one of those "terrorists" the news has been talking about." The word terrorist had been said as if it deserved quotes. Frankly she wasn't sure what the hell was going on in her city, but terrorist activity was not it.

Painite grinned at her. It was an almost friendly expression, eyes bright not just in their color, but with a kind of resonating glee that was hers alone at the moment. But she would share it soon.

This girl had her attention now.

"You might call me that. There are actually a lot of us. Different teams. My team is the cool one. The girls in white and the skirts? They're aliens, invading our earth, taking our home and trying to destroy us to boot. So I'm basically like you. I belong here."

She hummed and leaned on the punching bag as if it wasn't attached to a chain and moving.

"You look like a girl who doesn't like being a victim. Who could use a little power. I'm sure you noticed how ineffective you were when you hit me. You're weak, but you have so much potential. What would you say to awakening it?"

The exicted sheen in the general's eyes probably should have had Porsha worried, but so long as the sharp point of that spear didn't waver in her direction she was going to assume the other girl wasn't there to hurt her.

If she'd really wanted to, there wasn't a damn thing the teen could have done about it. That much had been made obvious, and Painite hadn't even had to lift a finger.

Silver eyes narrowed at the mention of 'teams', head tilting back and to the side as she considered the implication that their fair city was being over run by not only magically strong figures in odd customs, but skirt wearing aliens. If she hadn't seen a spear just materialize out of thin air she might have been more skeptical, but as it stood there really wasn't a whole lot of room to call foul on the logic at play here.

So magic was real and aliens did exist. She could handle that. Probably.

The general moved to lean against the bag, and Porsha continued watching her, weight now shifting to the opposite hip. Interest piquing all the more as the brunette kept talking. This was a little more Poe's style, and her lips pursed thoughtfully, brows arching. There were victims in life, but Porsha Webber refused to be one of them. Everything about the girl screamed dominate, control. "I'm listening."

She liked the sound of power.

Painite had every intention of hurting Porsha. It was just in what manner and to what result that needed to be decided. There would either be a dead body or a new member of the Negaverse here tonight: there was no middle ground for her now.

The General was not one to offer information about their fight, offer an offer to join, and be turned down. The only option to survive for the girl was for her to say yes: or close enough for Painite's tastes.

She didn't like killing. Not for sport or fun, there was so much more fun in keeping someone alive to play with. Fear was fun. Death, really, was boring, save only when it was used to bring fear to others. Or, in this case, when it was necessary.

"Good girl," she said, smirking. She drew closer, looking straight into Porsha's face. "I can give you power beyond your wildest dreams. Power like mine. Or at least, the way to achieve it. All you have to do is help us fight our enemies: your enemies. This planet belongs to us: not them." She teleported just to emphasize her power, vanishing from in front of Porsha and appearing behind her, poking her with the tip of Mr. Saddles.

"Just say yes, and we'll begin."

Painite straightened, and whether Poe was aware of it or not, her own posture moved to mirror it. No longer the insulate teen and her stubborn pride, but standing tall, alert, and clearly listening to every word the other woman had to say.

It wasn't ofter a person came along and offered you everything you'd ever wanted on a silver platter.

Her fingers where they rested on her own arms curled, tightening with the excitement she wouldn't allow to seep into her face. Oh yes, she was very much interested in what the general was offering her, but she didn't want to come off as too eager, too willing. It wasn't a power play, Porsh was fully aware of which hands the cards rested, but she had her pride.

The teleportation was surprising, and silver eyes widened in shock as Painite simply vanished from right in front of her, only to appear behind. The tip of her spear now nestled against the small of her back. "That's really impressive, will I be able to do that?"

As if she hadn't already made of her mind.

Licking her lips, Porsha shifted just enough for the sharpened point to p***k her skin in earnest, then fell still again. Power, beyond anything in her wildest dreams. Yes, Porsha wanted that. "Yes."

The Negaverse General watched her potential new recruit with deceptively bright eyes. She was usually all smiles and fun, so her eyes took easily to such expressions. Still, there was darkness in her gaze that was unnerving at best, sinister and devilish.

She moved her spear as she circled, holding it against her shoulder and canting her head to the side once she was within Porsha's line of sight once again. She smiled, then continued in her slow circle as she spoke.

"Yes, you will, in time. You have to earn what I have, but I wouldn't be speaking with you if I didn't think you had something in you. You'll get here, I'm certain of that."

Her conversational tone was dropped when Porsha gave her the response she was waiting for. She moved in front of her once again and held up her hand. She placed her hand on the other's chest, paused for a moment to smile pleasantly, then her hand vanished inside Porsha's chest. Her fingers curled around the starseed nestled inside, and chaos began to flow from Painite into the seed. The pain was indescribable for the young woman, Painite knew, but that was just one small price to pay.

For power. For Porsha, and for the Negaverse. A new soldier. Painite knew better than to stop paying attention to what she was doing, not wanting to waste this beautiful young woman, so full of potential as she was, by corrupting her seed too far and ruining her. No youma here.

No, as Painite pulled her hand from Porsha's chest there was not a youma, but a new Lieutenant of the Negaverse.

The promise of so very much power was enough to dampen the sudden wash of fear that filled the teen when she got a look at the general's eyes when she came from from behind her. It bolstered her resolve, kept her from retreat back away from the other woman as her instincts screamed at her.

But there was no turning back now. Porsha had agreed to this bargain, and she wanted what Painite had to offer far too much to flinch now.

Violet brows dipped as the other woman lay her hand over Porsha's chest, and she glanced up, a question clear in her eyes, before pain like she had never experienced it before shot through her, radiating from what she would have assumed to be her heart. It staggered her, pulled a building scream from painted lips, and only her hand snapping up to curl around the general's wrist kept her from falling to her knees.

She couldn't remember how to breath past the pain, so when her scream died there was no more noise between them until Painite withdrew her hands from her chest.

It was such an abrupt halt to the pain that Porsha gasped, almost fell forward, but caught herself on the heavy bag beside her. Chest heaving as she relearned how to breath and worked desperately to refill her lungs. There was a fire in her eyes as she stared up at the brunette, fear and rage, and her fingers curled into a fist as she seriously contemplated trying her luck again with a punch to that smiling face.

What stopped was the feel of gloves on her hands, and she dropped her gaze to stare down at her clothing, blinking at the boots, the garters, the little skulls that served as decorations. These were not the clothes she'd been wearing before. No, this was much closer to what Painite was wearing. It made Porsha laugh, an abrupt bark of sound that sounded too harsh.

It would be her's, all that power, all that potential. She could almost taste it.
PostPosted: Sun Jan 01, 2012 1:57 pm

Painite looked the new recruit over, smiling and nodding at her work. Not that she had done much: besides awaken the potential that had been within the girl with a little touch of chaos. The color and design of her clothes, the item that awakened with her for fighting, were dictated by forces beyond Painite's control.

She smiled and nodded her head.

"Welcome to the Negaverse, Lieutenant," she said coolly, her accented tone curling over each word melodically, "I am General Painite, one of your superiors. What is your name?"

She would know it, Painite had seen it before.

Not seeing a weapon like the hobby horse Painite had when she was a Lieutenant, she wondered for a moment if she hadn't called it. It was a task one didn't know innately. She saw the gloves, though, and grinned.

"How do you feel?"

The tip of a finger ran over the studs that lined the knuckles of one hand, purple lips pursed thoughtfully. She'd wondered what sort of get up she'd be thrust into, worried even, but she had to admit she rather liked what she saw. The skulls were a nice touch, and the colors were nice. The boots were awesome.

She looked up as Painite introduced herself then asked for Poe's name. Somehow she didn't think she was asking about her civilian name. "Xenotime," she provided automatically, not entirely sure how she knew that, but absolutely sure of herself.

How did she feel? That was a good question. "I feel amazing." She flexed her fingers, rolled her neck, then grinned. "Energized, stronger."

Instant gratification, she liked that.

"So now what?" Her tone was conversational, but did nothing to hide her eagerness.
