The night offered a sense of purpose and excitement that Porsha, A.K.A. Lieutenant Xenotime, just couldn't find in the day. Her friends all seemed to be busy, and if it hadn't been for joining the roller derby team, Po suspected she would have long since gone crazy from boredom. Oh sure, the gym provided a certain amount of distraction, but it wasn't enough. Not now that she had the night and the Negeverse.

Oddly though, she'd yet to run into many of her fellow soldiers, save for Chromite, but considering she knew her to be her long time childhood friend it didn't count. She wasn't sure why, it just didn't.

Come to that, she hadn't met any of the dark senshi she'd heard about either. Not the Dark Mirror Court, nor the corrupted. Weren't there guardian cats that were chaos aligned as well? She was going to have to get out more, her view of the would and the soldiers within it was frightenlying small and in desperate need of expanding.

With a frown the purple haired teen readjusted herself on the rooftop she'd decided to stretch out on, long legs dangling off the edge. Heels tapping alternately against the brick as she swung her feet. She looked as though she was simply lazing about, but Xeno had her senses open, 'tasting' the surrounding area for any hint of a power signature, order or chaos alike.

He felt somewhat lacking in certain areas - those areas being his sense of experience among the other Negaverse agents who were already far superior to him (not that being a mere Lieutenant would have gained him much respect as it was), and Aurostibite was somewhat less than thrilled with his current position.

Which was why he was sitting on a rooftop in downtown Destiny City, one leg drawn up, his arm resting across his knee. Below, he could see the lights of the cars that passed by and hear the rush of the wind dispelled from the moving vehicles. In spite of the noise, however, which surrounded him like a familiar and reassuring cloud, however, he felt somehow strangled, suffocated, as though he were drowning in lukewarm water.

Aurostibite got to his feet. Boots clicking on the slats of the roof, he made his way towards the edge and leapt off to the next building, hitting the roof with a soft thunk. It had taken him some time to get used to this - it was not as if Ilmenite had been much help - but after a few nights of practice he was now capable of leaping rooftops without creating a great deal of noise.

Several buildings later, he stopped, slightly out of breath. There was a figure at the far end of this building, a young woman with dark hair sitting with her legs dangling down over the side. Aurostibite fixed his hat into position and stepped towards her, frowning slightly.

"Lieutenant."

Her senses so widely open, it wasn't hard to pick up on the feel of an approaching chaotic aura, and she knew the other agent had reached her before the soft sound of his boots hitting the rooftop met her. Certainly the new comer had drawn her attention, and sliding an arm back to brace her, leaned to get a better look at him as he addressed her. "Astute observation," she offered, tone vaguely teasing, but generally friendly all the same.

"Do you always address your fell officers by rank?" Violet brows rose, and had she not been smiling her comment could have very easily been taken as bitchy, but Xenotime didn't know the Lieutenant standing nearby, so she was going to try to behave.

Try being the operative word.

"I'm Xenotime," she offered after a soft chuckle, and though she didn't rise from her spot, she did offer a hand up for a shake. "I assume you have a name as well, though if you prefer I could just call you Lieutenant." Again with the teasing, but at least it was all good natured.

He frowned a little, slightly taken aback by her response, though she seemed to be smiling, amused at herself. Aurostibite tilted his head, eyes narrowing slightly, but he felt as though she weren't being snarky, merely teasing.

"Yes," he said, and it came out slightly more stubborn than he had intended it to. "I refer to all those I do not know by their rank as well; it seems easier than merely saying hey you over there. And indicating rank is a gesture of humility when it comes to those above you in status. However, I can see," he said, with a closer glance at her. "that you appear to be the same rank as I."

She had extended her hand to him, and after only a moment's hesitation, he took it, wrapping his gloved fingers around her own.

"Aurostibite," he said. "I am Lieutenant Aurostibite. I was recruited several months ago."

With a soft hum of amusement the punk of a lieutenant rolled her shoulders in a small shrug. "I can't really argue with you there, it is a better system then just hey you." She preferred to refer to those she didn't know by whatever came to mind based on appearance and personality. To each their own. He was correct on identifying her as a fellow lieutenant though.

"Nice to meet you. Oddly enough I haven't come across many other negaverse agents yet." She wasn't avoiding her fellows, she just didn't go out of her way to hunt them down. She was usually far too busy kicking senshi a** or collecting energy.

After the shake, having realized he wasn't going to drop down to sit beside her, the girl turned on the spot to get her legs back beneath her so she could stand. "I've been on the job about half a year now." Since they were comparing. "Do you like it?" She was pretty curious about that really. Xenotime certainly loved her place in the negaverse, but that didn't mean everyone else did.

"Neither have I," Aurostibite admitted, with a small shrug, a look of thoughtfulness on his face. "Although I seem to have a strange attraction towards Generals, since they always seem to find me, or me them. I haven't decided whether this is a good or a bad thing yet, but either way I can't say I've actually met anyone my own rank before."

Linking his fingers together behind his back, Aurostibite's gaze flickered out across the city and the slowly falling dusk, tilting his head to the side and scrutinizing Xenotime. A few stray black curls escaped his ponytail and danced against his cheeks.

"I find it comfortable, yes," he said, in answer to her question. "I rather like having a purpose in life, and though I've only been a Lieutenant for a short while, I do believe I'll stay."

"I'm only met the one General, and a General-King." Xenotime rolled her eyes skyward, thinking back over her time as a Lieutenant thus far. "And a Captain, but he died in a battle with an Eternal." She hadn't known him, or even liked him very much, so his death hadn't meant a whole lot to Xenotime other then a reminder that they, in the Negaverse, were still mortal.

She smiled up at her comrade as he went on, bobbing her head in a nod of agreement. "I like it as well, but I don't plan on staying a lieutenant forever." Xenotime was ambitious, she had every intention of climbing the power ladder as quickly as she could. The promise of duty, of power, was too big a lure to make her complacent.

"I'd like to see more of comrades, and our allies. I hear there are corrupted senshi within our ranks, as well as a court that stands alone that we're allied with, but I've never seen any." She tilted her head, thoughtful. "I also haven't seen much of the rift." Now that she thought about it, there were a lot of aspects about the Negaverse Xenotime had yet to encounter or experience.

I've met three Generals and a General-King," said Aurostibite, with a touch of dryness to his voice. "And if we're talking about the same General-King, which I'm relatively certain we are, Zinkenite was the one to recruit me in the first place."

His loyalty to Zinkenite was absolute; at least one strong constant in a world of uncertainties. Aurostibite fiddled with the buttons on the cuff of his sleeve, frowning a little.

"I've apparently had a difficult time adjusting well to Negaverse life," he said. "Which is why I am still only a Lieutenant."

He was mildly frustrated by his lack of development so far, but he supposed it was his own fault. Nothing good be gained if he didn't do what it took to get there in the first place, after all.

"I've rarely been to the Rift myself," he said, his frown deepening. "Though I suppose now that we have associated with one another, that counts as seeing more of our comrades, does it not?"

"Ya, I suppose it does." She smile at him, glad they'd taken this time to get to know one another. Though it seemed Aurostibite had a slightly mixed outlook on his place in the negaverse. Not so much a conflict of interest, but certainly something. She'd noticed the frown, the toying at his cuffs.

Maybe he was just embarrassed? Not that she would in anyway know for certain. She didn't know this soldier, not did she have any clue how long he'd been a lieutenant, but by his own admission he showed a desire to have already progressed in rank.

"Is it the fighting you're having trouble adjusting to?" Not everyone could have a background in boxing. She did wonder how it was her comrades managed. Of course the white moon had all seemed like untrained amateurs. At least the ones Xenotime had faced of with so far.

"If so, I could maybe help with that. I box, and I could show you the basics." Hell, every new recruit should be taken aside and shown the basics. That was Xeno's opinion anyways. Maybe when she'd gone up in rank she'd suggest it.

Or even just make it happen. Generals could do things like that, right?
