It'd occurred to Vanadis sometime after the third lap around the park that she actually had a scanner for this kind of work and she didn't actually have to rely on her own eye-sight for picking out baddies. She felt a bit foolish. Truthfully she didn't go looking for Chaos agents very often; in her experience, Chaos encounters just sort of... happened.

But branching out was a good thing, right? And it was about time she started to take a more active role in this senshi thing! Instead of just letting the baddies ambush her, why not take the fight to them for once? Which was exactly why the red-head had been scouring the city in a random pattern, trying to pick up any power signatures she could on her cellphone scanner.

Two hours later, she'd pretty much given up hope. Did every Negaverser just decide to have a movie marathon tonight or something? There were absolutely no-one about; well, that wasn't entirely true - she had picked up a few Chaos signatures, but each one had been significantly larger than what she felt she could take on by herself. She wanted to be pro-active, not land in the hospital.

And then, luck struck. The scanner finally picked up a signature that seemed, well, fairly innocuous compared to the other ones she'd seen tonight. Definitely less likely to kick her a**, she figured.

So really, what else was there to do but go for it? That in mind, Vanadis tracked the signature to its source and, hoping for the element of surprise, jumped out from behind the corner separating herself and the Negaverser.

And then promptly floundered. She ought to attack now, right? But it seemed kind of wrong to just jump on someone like that, when the other person probably hadn't even seen her coming. And who knew, maybe this person wasn't actually aggressive! They could be a prime candidate for purification, and if she smashed a fist into their face they might change their mind entirely and stay on the side of Chaos!

Horrid scenarios of how she could botch this running through her mind, Vanadis stopped biting her lip long enough to actually speak to the Negaverser: "Um, hello! You, er, you w-wouldn't happen to want to change side or anything? Or be a pacifist?" Her voice was a bit hopeful. Just in case!

Although not entirely surprised by the sudden appearance of the Senshi, Xenotime couldn't say she was expecting such a strange enterance. What had started out enthusiastic had turned, quite frankly, underwhelming, as the girl did nothing but stand there and bite her lip. It left the lieutenant mildly puzzled, but for the most part she was amused, boarding on annoyance the longer it drew on.

Finally she spoke, and Xenotime could do nothing but bring her hand up to her face, head shaking slowly. Was this really what she had to deal with tonight? This clueless girl on a purification soup box?

No thank you.

Dropping her hand, she grinned at the Senshi, soft little smile growing into something dark and wild. "Neither," she answered simply, and that was really all the warning she as going to get.

Without another word the Lieutenant had surged forward to catch the senshi by the bow at her chest, yanking her up to her toes before casting her side towards the thick trunk of a nearby tree. God, she loved the added stretch her powered for provided. Oh sure, she was strong enough in her own right, but now? Suffice to say, it was very easy for the Teen to let herself grow drunk on the power at her fingertips.

"You picked the wrong person to mess with." Understatement! Xenotime didn't play nice with the soldiers of order. She had a job to do, and she thoroughly enjoyed it.

Oh great, she'd finally managed to find an energy signature she thought she could take on by herself, and what did she get? The one with freakish strength, that was what. Vanadis had been in a fair few battles by this point, but she'd yet to actually be thrown anywhere - generally, being as tall as she was, it was a bit hard to accomplish. Really, being 6 feet 3 inches tall stopped most people from even trying.

But this Negaverser had definitely managed it, the redhead thought (slightly woozily) where she was sprawled against the tree roots. And boy, had it ever hurt - although she was new to this whole 'colliding with trees'-business, Vanadis now had a very good grasp on the pain it brought. With her luck, the left side of her body would be black and blue by the time tomorrow rolled around. At least it wasn't summer anymore, and she could probably get away with a longsleeved blouse for tomorrow's classes. Less questions about hypothetical, abusive boyfriends that way.

Getting to her feet with a slight groan, she glared at the Negaverser as best she could. "I didn't exactly pick to m-mess with you, you know." Okay, fine, so she'd thought of ambushing the girl, but only for a few seconds! She'd never actually have gone through with it, because hitting someone first for no good reason just wasn't a very nice thing to do, in Vanadis' mind.

Stepping away from the tree roots (they were practically death traps, jutting out of the ground as they were) and sliding into her best defensive stance, the redhead waited for what the baddie would do next. Her reflexes had gotten a lot better since she started capoeira classes, and she was pretty confident she would at least be able to see the next attack coming in time to be able to react to it, if nothing else.

No worries!

Height, Shmieght. Porsha had been taking on people larger then herself for years, so Xenotime as well didn't really pay much mind to physical size. At least not unless the person she faced matched her in skill. This girl, tall or not, wasn't in the same league. Oh sure, she had her magic, as all Senshi did, but Xenotime preferred a more physical approach.

A cold little smile had bloomed to life on darkly painted lips, and the lieutenant grinned as the Senshi rose to her feet with a pained groan. She had a point, sort of. She hadn't exactly picked to tangle with Xenotime, but she had dared wonder if the agent had any desire to jump ship (Ha!), and the notion of being a pacifist was just laughable. "Okay, so maybe not mess," she conceded, shoulders rolling in a small shrug. "But I'm definitely buying what you're selling."

Bringing her hands up before her, Xenotime made as if she were miming slipping on a pair of gloves, but as she did so she called her own brand of magic, small as it was. Summoning the studded, fingerless gloves that served at the lieutenant's weapon. All the while watching the Senshi as she regained her balance and slipped into a defensive crouch. Which only served to make to punk grin all the more.

If the girl had any training in martial arts of defense whatsoever then she'd put up enough of a challenge to keep Xenotime entertained. She was always looking for a good fight, but those just weren't that easy to find, unfortunately.

One foot sliding back, the nega fell into her own familiar stance, and extended a hand out to the Senshi before curling her fingers to beckon her closer. "Come at me, bro."
