.:Bonding Time:.
It was rather quiet throughout the rest of the Weyr. Most everyone who could be was at the Hatching, watching as the last of the eggs hatched and the dragonets found Theirs. That was fine though; this solitude worked well for Gabriel and Lifth. It was
their time now.
Miiiiiine~! I cannot walk properly with all of this goo on my feet! he complained, eyes whirling in upset as he continued on with his awkward steps. He was
not happy with his current state of filth.
"Don't worry, we are almost to the water," she assured, patting the keening dragonet in an attempt to calm him down. He had behaved well enough while being fed, but now that there was no food to distract him the Blue's focus was fixed
entirely on the goo and dirt. Somehow though the teen couldn't help but find his fussing over the mess to be rather endearing. She felt much the same after stable duty. ... Ugh, stable duty.
The Blue's speed increased dramatically as they neared the lake-side, and Lifth practically
dove into the water the second he was able to.
Mine, please get it off quickly! he begged, giving her the most pathetic look the teen had ever seen on a dragon in her life.
It feels so disgusting. Needless to say, her heartstrings were more than sufficiently tugged. "I know, Love. I'm coming," she assured, getting down into the water with him and proceeding to gently scrub off the dried goo and dirt with her bare hands. It was silent between them as she worked, but it was a comfortable silence. It almost didn't seem real to the teen as she sat there in the tranquil lake cleaning off her dragon.
Her dragon. Her lifemate was finally here.
Yes, I am here, he said softly, stretching his wings out as Gabriel cleaned between the folds.
You are Mine and I am Yours. ... Why do you cry? "S-Sorry," she said, sniffling and wiping her eyes with the back of her arm. "I'm just so happy right now." Gabriel grabbed the dragonet up into a hug, her tears spilling onto the beautiful blue hide as she held on. "I have waited for you for so long... Don't you ever leave me, you hear?" She was complete now, and she never wished to feel the pain of having her other half ripped away from her.
The dragonet crooned and turned his head around to nudge His.
I have no intention of going anywhere. You are getting me dirty again, Mine. She had to laugh at that. "Sorry." She released Lifth from the hug and continued on with cleaning him. A few seconds later a green flit arrived, eyes whirling with curiosity as she chirped at the two. "Ah, Mossy, there you are. Mossy, this is Lifth. Lifth, Mossy. Help me clean him up, will you?" The firelizard chirruped again in reply before landing on the young Blue's back and setting to work scrubbing.
She is small, he observed, watching the flitter abstractly as she set about scrubbing off dried goo.
An efficient cleaner though. Gabriel chuckled. "So it would seem. That will be handy for sure when you are bigger." Lifth simply gave a small rumble in reply, and the trio fell silent again as they continued about the cleaning.
