"They're heavy, and I prefer not to carry anything I don't have to." She shrugged in agreement at the idea of carrying ivysaurs. "You shouldn't let size stop you." The words would have been more inspirational if she weren't using them to convince Alex to try fitting a giant container of cheese puffs in his bag. Her intentions were also a far cry from good, because frankly, she just wanted to watch him struggle to fit the thing in his bag and then delight in the inevitable mess that would follow. Because if it wasn't obvious by now: Azalea was a gremlin that fed on chaos and stale chips. Speaking of which, she was mildly disappointed that Alex had no snacks on him. "It's fine. I'll just say you owe me one." She sighed wistfully as if dreaming of a day in the near future when she might get some chips again.

Finally, some damn recognition. Azalea couldn't help but sport a small fond smile at Alex for praising her love of snacks instead of talking on about how unhealthy it was. "You too kid. Good for you to stick it to them and eat what you like n' don't let anyone try to tell you otherwise. I've lived off of chips almost my whole life and I'm just fine." She was very arguably not fine but that wasn't due to her dietary habits.
Nevertheless, Azalea quickly fixed Alex's costume as they passed by more disturbing scenes like a victreebel with human limbs hanging from its mouth. The odor didn't really phase Azalea given her dulled sence of smell and the fact that she'd worked with the acidic honey on more than one occasion, but she doubted Alex had as much experience. Ushering him quickly onward they ran into another problem of the wailing cofagrigous and Azalea was forced to share her headphones temporarily until the screaming was out of earshot. She had the volume up pretty loud so when Alex re-adjusted Azalea wasn't surprised, but his comments afterward did shock her. Perhaps he'd taken her encouragement to speak his mind a little too far. Azalea barked a laugh. "That's called rap. Have you never listened to music with words before?" She asked curiously.

With their course of action planned out, Dallas joined Naomi in trying to find a way out. The temperature seemed to have dropped considerably upon entering the strange area of the house, enough that the thug could see his own breath. "Man, I wish I had brought Beltigre with me right about now, he muttered. He glanced over to see how Naomi was holding out, and by the looks of things the pirate was no warmer than he was. "Hold on, butt pirate," he asked. He rummaged in his bag for his gakuran jacket and draped it over Naomi's shoulders. "That should help keep you warm. Well, warmer."
"Aw, the Skeleton is helping the Pirate! You're so cute it makes me wanna cut you all into little tiny pieces!" It was their mysterious malefactor, once again only in voice. "I'd like to see you try, loser!" The voice chuckled loudly, and suddenly a loud sound was heard from behind them. "Okay, let's take a StAb at it!" Dallas looked down the hall, and heard the distinct 'Schwing!' of blades coming out of the walls, quickly coming closer and closer to the two humans and Ieyasu. "Sonuva...run, Naomi!" Dallas pulled Naomi forward in an attempt to jumpstart his friend's running. They'd have to hustle if they didn't want to get sliced up! Haunted House: Posts 11 thru 20 11 12 13 14 15 16

✪Walking Pokemon ⇨ The crew, but elsewhere
Beltigre and Susan had made some progress, and had found themselves in an old music room with a player piano inside of it. The torracat hopped up on top of it to get a better whiff of the air. I think they were in here, Susan," Beltigre said, ""But I don't know where they went from here..." Susan was sniffing around as well. Susan agrees with Beltigre. Dalpha and Beta were here, most certain. The dracovoir wandered over to the bookcase, which had been where the trail went cold. Susan no get it; Smells say, more tracks this way, but wall is here, no more place to walk! Susan confused... Susuan scratched her head under her witch hat, frustrated at her lack of understanding. "Don't get all bent outta shape, dum-dum," Beltigre reassured. "We just have to think about this for a little bit." Haunted House: Posts 11 thru 20 11 12 13 14 15 16 17

Susan took her time mulling over how the trail ended at the bookcase, going over everything she could think of. Maybe...Dalpha and Beta walk here, and then 'splode? No, no meaty bits all over or burny marks...so, they both use Teleport! Wait, hoomans no use Teleport...Somebody wear Dalpha and Beta's clothes, go to bookcase and...GRRRAWR, my head ouches from all of this thinking! Beltigre grumbled to herself before speaking up. "Keep it down, loud brain! I'm trying to think of what to-"
CLUNK!
The piano suddenly stopped playing abruptly with a large sour note, catching their attention. Beltigre hopped off of it, the fur standing up on her back. "I don't like this stupid thing one bit!" she warned. Susan agreed, growling at the instrument. Suddenly, the piano's lid sprung open, revealing rows of large, sharp teeth. It clumsily charged at the two of them, each chomp of its maw accented with a loud clunk of the piano. Susan darted out of the way, but Beltigre held her ground. "All this noise is pissing me off! Die!" Her bell started to glow brightly as she fired a gout of flame at the piano. It was engulfed rather quickly, and it flailed around before crashing into the bookcase. Both items burnt up surprisingly fast, and revealed a long, dark hallway hidden behind it. "What the heck?" Susan sniffed at the hallway with newfound excitement. Susan figured it out! Secret hallway is where smell go! Let's go! Susan headed into the hallway, with Beltigre coming up behind her. Haunted House: Posts 11 thru 20 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18

"Oh." At Dallas' request Naomi stopped, though he shook his head when he saw him pulling out his jacket. "That is very kind of you, Dallas, but I will be fine. You should wear your jacket," he suggested, though didn't stray farther than verbal sway. When Dallas did put the jacket around him he grew quiet, then gave a nod of thanks. The added layer, even though not fully on, did help to provide additional warmth.

A small comfort drawn from the jacket, it was quickly forgotten when they were forced to start running, or risk being cut in two by the fast approached parade of swords. Instinctively tightening his grip around Ieyasu, Naomi began to run in the only direction available to them: forward, and in the few brief seconds of thought allowed of him, Naomi continued to wonder if what they were experiencing was real. This was certainly a dangerous addition to the house, though the swords could have been fake: either a projection or just foam swords. Of course, he hadn't had the time to check and see if those pointed tips were created from real metal, and even now he wasn't going to risk looking back and checking.
....Because on the off chance that the swords were real, and there actually was a malevolent spirit wishing them ill, Naomi wasn't going to risk tripping and becoming a dango.

In running to avoid the, very-real-looking, swords, Naomi did his best to keep up with Dallas. Their goal had been to find an exit from the one, and while this had yet to change there was now a greater sense of urgency applied to it. As if sensing this a small section of the left wall opened up, just wide enough for escape, and without thinking Naomi snagged the sleeve of Dallas' shirt and pulled them both inside, "In here!"
The room, poorly illuminated like its predecessor, offered the couple a brief reprieve and a chance for them to catch their breath. Legs shaking gently, Naomi exhaled gently and, while hesitant, he placed Ieyasu down onto the ground; though he was ready to snatch him back up and start running again, if it was needed. "...Where should we go from here?" Naomi asked, quietly and still a tad breathless, and pulled his phone out in the process, giving them a small bit of light to search the room. There wasn't much to see and upon shining his light back to where they'd originally entered, and their only confirmed exit, Naomi was shocked to find nothing more than a wall.
It took him several seconds to comprehend that they no longer had a way out, at least for now, but eventually Naomi turned his phone-flashlight away from the wall and towards Dallas with an uneven smile. "I suppose it won't be from here," he joked... weakly.

Counting inventory and doing a bit of math, Trey figured he'd go ahead and get up to the 350 mark before making his way to the prize booth. That way, he had enough for the most coveted prize -- should he want one -- or enough to buy several small things, or some combination of the different varieties. Though honestly, he felt fairly set on most fronts. He had spare XP Balls for days, he had ample berries -- and no one to really make any poffins with, groan -- and even his contest accessories and such were pretty well taken care of. He wasn't sure whether they offered much more in terms of contest options, nor what else he might possibly need, but it wouldn't hurt to gather up some more tickets before going over to wrap things up. Plus, it was just a little more, and it would likely be easier than starting any of the other activities hanging around, which might let him go ahead and set out sooner... Provided he could find JR.

JR was, somewhat, on his way to find Trey in turn, though he looked less than enthused, and more ready to leave. And more than a little roughed up. His hair was tousled, there was mud on his clothes, and a slight bruise on one cheek, but his wigglytuff looked just about as bad. Through the natural shadows around Wesley's eyes, there was some extra bruising about his right, a bloody scratch on the side of his stomach, staining his white and grey fur, blood on one fist, and the tuff on his head was a mess, not to mention the mud thoroughly caking his fur. Neither looked happy, but both looked very much done. As if something had settled, and though the outcome wasn't in anyone's favor, it had been decided beforehand that it would be accepted regardless.
Which was, in a way, just how things were with them. If they got in a fight, there was a mutual understanding of how much strength and force they could really use against each other, and at what point the line could be drawn. If Wesley really, really had a point to make, JR knew how much he meant it by what attacks he used, and how much he tried to murder him. For example, this time, he was just pissed-- JR had duct taped him into his pokeball, and that burned him up more than an Overheat attack. But, he wasn't trying to convince him of anything, so he used minimal attacks, and allowed JR to, for the most part, defend himself, getting out with just a few wounds, and taking some of his own. He kept things, generally, fair. If he ever really, really hated JR, or demanded a change in the man's plans, or mind, he would do much more-- and for all JR's abilities, he was still human. He would usually have to concede if the pokemon started treating him like an opponent, and using attacks. At the very least, all he would be able to do would be defend himself, and that was no way to end a battle.

When Beltigre and Susan stepped into the long, dark hallway, they actually heard the sounds of voices and fast footsteps. That must be Dalpha and Beta! Susan exclaimed. She held on to her hat as she rushed along ahead. "Hold on, dummy, don't just take off like that!" Beltigre ran on after her, but slowed her pace when she heard the sound of something metal swinging through the air up ahead. "Whoa, hold on, Susan, I don't think it's safe..." She stepped further down the hallway, sniffing the air and trying to find Susan up ahead.
When she reached the dracovoir, Beltigre saw what looked like dozens of foam swords that were set up on springs or something along the wall. Susan had just gotten bopped in the head by one of them, and was now grappling it and gnawing on the foam. Die! Die, soft sword thingy! Beltigre cocked her head to the side. "More baby stuff? But Dallas and Naomi were running away in a hurry...for this? Something stinks about all this..." Susan was not listening, and only broke her assault when she found some tickets lying on the floor. Oh! Maybe Dalpha drop so we can find! Let's sniff this place out more gooder! Haunted House: Posts 11 thru 20 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19

✪Walking Pokemon ⇨ The crew, but elsewhere
Dallas had just been pulled into the small room that Naomi had luckily found, and he rested against the side of the wall, panting softly with his hands on his needs. "Holy crap...that was close..." He wiped some sweat from his forehead (which didn't smudge his facepaint, one of the many unconventional skills Dallas possessed. "Thanks for the save, Naomi, you saved my a**!" He gave the pirate a reassuring smile, though it was hard to think that the situation was getting out of hand. Those were real swords, right? I mean, that's what they look and sounded like, for sure. As Naomi searched the room, Dallas pulled out his own phone to lend a hand. But just like Naomi, he discovered that there was no foreseeable way out. Not even the way they came.
When he saw Naomi's expression, Dallas walked up to him and placed his hands on the young man's shoulders. "Look, I know this looks pretty messed up right now, but I'm not shook. Not by a longshot. Now, I'm pretty sure we're in some serious trouble, but I promise you, I'm not gonna let anything happen to you. So don't worry; ya boy Dallas is here for you!" His pep talk made him feel more confident about the situation, at the very least. He looked into Naomi's eyes with a smile filled with determination.
Then, he looked up at Naomi...wait, what? Dallas broke his eye contact, and found that he was being pulled into the floor. "Hate to make a liar out of you, Dallas, but you're not gonna be able to help AnYoNe! EEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEE!" Dallas didn't even have time to find anything to grab onto; arms made of dark miasma pulled Dallas completely out through the floor, leaving nothing but a sickening laugh that echoed throughout the room. Trey gave JR and his wigglytuff quite the stare as they approached, the last two tickets he needed (gained from the Apple Bobbing game) held in his hand. His expression said all the unimpressed comments and questions he didn't care to voice, but JR rolled his eyes and waved a hand at him. "Don't push it," he muttered dryly. He wasn't in a bad mood, per se, but... he was a bit achy, his face hurt, and he wanted to find a nice pokecenter, wash up, and flirt with the Nurse Joy and just relax. And yet, he wasn't going to push Trevor to leave now, so the least he could do is just go without questioning what had happened.
And given Trey's preference not to talk, that seemed fine by him. And thankfully, he actually seemed ready to leave himself. He pocketed his tickets, and started recalling his pokemon, only briefly making sure that JR had the grovyle and vaporeon with him, and recalled, as well, before heading towards the prize booth.

Beltigre sniffed at a wall, found that it carried a bunch of Dallas scent. "Dallas? Yo Susan, I think I found something!" Susan stuffed the tickets in her hat, and walked up to the section of wall that the torracat was pawing at. Hold on, let Susan look for Glowies... She brought a hand to her head, and placed the other on the wall. ...Hm...Oh! Susan see Dalpha's and Beta's! Ieyasu is there too, right behind wall! But there's also.... Susan took her hand from the wall when she felt the nasty malevolent spirit that was in the room. There's a ghosty baddy in there! We gotta help our human frens! Beltigre nodded in agreement. "Okay, okay, calm down! We gotta find a way to get past this wall-"
RRRRRAAAAAAAAAWR! With no course of thinking through, Susan fired Moonblast from her mouth, blasting a sizable hole in the wall, and then through the next wall after that. "SUSAN! What if you killed Dallas with that, you moron?!" Beltigre rushed into the room, only to see a glimpse of Dallas' head before he got sucked up onto the floor. "Dallas!" She rushed over and tried to pounce through the hole, but only skidded across the floor as it closed up instantly. Susan rushed in as well, and looked up to Naomi. Hallo, Beta! Susan and Beltigre are here to rescue you guys!...but, where did Dalpha go? Haunted House: Posts 21 through 30 21

Alex, who had a sheet over his head, hummed happily to the beat of Az's music. Wow, when he couldn't see or hear anything the haunted house wasn't all that scary, was it? Still, it made it harder to hear Az, so he edged one of the speakers off his ear. "Of course not, what kinda chump do you think I am? I bet you didn't know this, but I was the champion of fitting stuff into tiny spaces five years in a row back home." He was actually almost telling the truth- there may not have been any kind of tournament, but if there had been he would have won it after all that practice stuffing any-and-everything he should not have into any space he could find so it wouldn't get taken away.
