Aisling turned towards the fortune teller booth, she knew it was probably a student at the school just adding some flare to the event. After all if she truly wanted an accurate reading she could do it herself. However as she walked towards it, she looked back at the plushie stand. Hers just looked alone. One should always have company even if you were an inanimate object and she herself could do with a plushie army, so she went back so that her plushie could get a friend. Probably not the sanest of things, but being normal was overrated in her opinion. It was just better to be yourself the way you wanted. ---------------------------------- " haha yes but that is true of any familiar. I have some divas of my own and they aren't pumpka. I have also seen pumpka who are shy. Still I think he'll get along just fine with my army, and you can see it when ever you want. Since my junior years I am no longer bunking with any one, although a good chunk of the time I am at home." Leto replied petting the pumpka gently. When the vesper cat came by, it did more than just stop for pets. It also seemingly dropped a plushie as a thank you. Considering Vega hadn't seen it, Leto picked it up. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- “It is, and I think that the shyer people can be bolder. It was a great idea to add a masquerade element, I mean we would have already been wearing costumes” Kiri agreed trying not to focus on the adorable blush too hard, because then he would start blushing and there would go the party. However he did catch her as she tripped over the plushie, seriously what was that doing on the dance floor. Almost as if to make up for it, he turned the trip into a bit of a pickup and twirl. Not something he could do too often as he definitely wasn’t strong enough for it but it would help hopefully with the embarrassment if it just looked like something fancy to outsiders. ---------------------------------------------- Well Trivia supposed it would be better to go out and mingle. After all Nephthys would totally turn the tide, if she found out Trivia hadn’t tried to be a social bug, not something the geist needed as Neph could get really into it. Ah well it wouldn’t hurt. They had an awkward glow and a mask. No one would recognize them, especially not without their iconic hat. So they went and complimented a person on their mask. Well that wasn’t so painful. Still wished they could sit there and look at the ceiling but what was was. --------------------------------------------------- “Oh but really, waiting for that boorish nasty tempered man, surely a lovely woman such as yourself can do better” Oberon stated in his own teasing voice. He really wasn’t that self-deprecating. However he did raise an eyebrow and give a rather interesting stare to the passerby, probably in part why they said no.
“Definitely a discussion later.” Oberon agreed as he was lead out onto the dance floor. He did check the person who whispered something in his fiance’s ear, but considering that Lau was ignoring them, he followed suit. He didn’t realize them slipping a bat plushie into one of his pockets.
Carmen laughed. “I guess they could be, they just don’t want to muse my tux.” She moved to the table to get herself a glass of punch and sipped it. “Are you good at dancing?” She questioned. “I’m just somewhat afraid I’m going to be a total klutz out there.” She gave a soft sigh.
“But I promise, I will not step on your feet.” She paused as suddenly a junior in a terrible hand me down tux handed her a glass bottle full of luminous liquid. It looked a bit like rainbows. “What do you think this is?” She questioned, waving it slightly.
“A good way,” Sally reassured and gave a slight grin. “Perhaps, I could try it.” She wasn’t at home and well no one was going to side eye her for doing something just because it made her feel pretty then because it was useful. And perhaps she could get some cute hair clips?
“Ooh, not at all! I’m sure they would be ecstatic to have your patronage! And well, they had a lot of plushies.” She admitted and lead them off to the table. She paused, nearly tripping over something small and looked down, a grey green vesper cat pressed against her calf.
“Well, hello there. Did something spook you?” She questioned softly, not moving to remove the cat and letting it cower in peace.
Frost's heart skipped a beat at Thoth's delight over the nezubat plushie shined right through his mask. He didn't need to see his boyfriend's face, merely recognize the inflection in his voice. Frost squished the skyfish plushie to his chest, perhaps a touch possessively of his new treasure.
Frost's eyes followed Thoth's gesture, noticing the fortune teller's tents. Sliding his mask down over his features once more, the mask now hiding a rather brilliant smile, Frost nodded his head. "I would love that! Perhaps they can read our combined fortunes?" Frost blushed again, swaying gently as the litch-geist reached for Thoth's free hand, bone claws carefully curling around the other boy's fingers as he gently started to tug his beloved along behind him.
As the boys started their journey over to the mystic's tents, Frost noticed another rather beautiful mask, and in his good mood called out to the fellow mask-bearer. "Pardon me ... I just wanted to say that you have a lovely mask ... !" Frost's voice was timid, and didn't carry particularly well. Frost had no way of knowing if the other student (or perhaps not a student?) had heard him. Frost merely hoped the other person heard his compliment and carried on his way with Thoth.

We both have some mystics! Did you want to drag Zabette in here? Or should I pull in Archimedes or Selkie ... ?
Feeling rather dejected, Syblia made their way back to the table they had been at before. With a sigh, they flopped rather ungracefully into a chair and crossed their arms atop the table to rest their chin in the cradle they had made. A pout puckered their lips as they eyed all the dancing, laughing, chatting ball goers. It looked like so much fun but so far they were having an okay time. Could, and would, have been worse without the company of their new friends, but it could have been better, too. While they were sulking, someone in a yellow suit hurried past and dropped a swirled glass bottle filled with rainbowed liquid on the table next to them. They lifted their head curiously, watching as the junior slipped away into the crowds.

While searching for the vaguely familiar person he'd bumped into earlier, Mbizi was surprised yet again as someone tapped his shoulder. Before he could turn more fully to them, they began to whisper in his ear, making his brows furrow. He couldn't hear what they were saying, like he was underwater and everything was muffled. He turned to question them, but they were gone. Slowly, he turned in a circle as he stood on his tip toes, surveying the people around him as he tried to find another person. So many odd things were happening to him tonight that he was beginning to wonder if coming out had been a good idea.
Amber smiled and somewhat began to laugh as he freaked out, she coughed to hide her laughter " Treat. its fine, you didn't poke my eye" she replied as she smiled at him grabbing his hand " ya lets go give it a try maybe we can see what the future holds" she said as she began to lead him away to the fortune teller" maybe we could dance after?" she said before entering in to the fortune teller tent with him
Bella wondered the ball an antique gown on her body and a mask to match she wandered among the crowds noticed. or was it that no one wanted to see her, she thought. She felt comfortable and safe hidden away from view anyway. she watched everyone threw her mask. she felt a sense of jealousy as she watched everyone dance together or enjoyed one another's company. she was given a plush by someone at a booth and immediately took to it. finding a sense of love for a toy that had something in common with her
The Mask Flitterrat plush She got about two steps from the booth when the junior called her back with a wink and offered her the one plushie she had been eyeballing as the one she actually wanted. The galaxy pattern was just lovely, and the soft glow it gave off was rather nice. Not that she needed a nightlight or anything!! She just found the light soothing.
Giving the junior an enthusiastic smile, she accepted the second plush and cradled it with the black and red one and her ghostly looking new pet. "Thank you, this is so sweet of you!"
The Mask nezubat plush In her haste to escape the scene, she spotted what looked like a fortune telling tent. Since that was a rare enough sight, she went ahead to go have a look inside. Thankfully it appeared empty aside from her and the fortune teller. Before she could say even one of her questions, the kirin gestured to the chair opposite her.
"Come, sit my child, and let us look into your fortune."
The Mask (potion) The fennekit they hadn't noticed when it first appeared, startled them when it abruptly chittered and ran off. They were busy picking up the large plush they hadn't quite thrown when it returned with another one. This one looked more like a skyfish, but with the brightest colors they'd ever seen. It wasn't unpleasant, per say, so much as vivid against their light skin and the white fur of the flitterrat plush. They were really going to have to find somewhere else to put this so they could have their hands free again.
The Mask (plush) The large barrel had been such an oddity in the sparkling ball room that he'd simply had to see if it was actual bobbing for apples. That was something he'd expect more at a fair or during trick or treating, but the reality of it hit him in the face. Literally.
The volunteer who'd been trying to convince him to try out apple bobbing had pat him on the back a few times too many and too hard. He'd fallen forward, face first into the water barrel. He came up sputtering, hearing the rapid apologies coming from the volunteer, and the stifled laughter coming from the crowd. His patches flashed in embarrassment, he turned and fled to a bathroom with saying even a word. The blush on his cheeks felt like it was hot enough to evaporate the water, but he could still feel it dripping down his skin.
Eirian was really enamored by the dolls. In fact, they couldn't help but take two. It really was hard to place why they liked them so much, but they did.
"How's your new friend doing?" Eirian asked Sally of the vespercat glued to her leg. "I wonder what could have spooked them."
Juliette still stood at the edge of the dance floor, desire strong in her heart. She really wished she had a partner to dance with but alas, she had no one. Well, other than her fitterat. A familiar can't be a dance partner, though. She watched and internally wrestled with her anxiety. Then she felt a presence beside her. Juliette straightened in fear but found herself unable to move.
A voice whispered near her but Juliette couldn't make sense of the words. She closed her eyes and prayed they'd go away. Soon Juliette could no longer feel the stranger anymore and she finally let out her breath.

Dara noticed a figure in a lovely antique dress and mask. The hybrid's attention was certainly caught as she wandered over to the stranger. "Hi, I just wanted to say I really love your mask. Actually, I love your whole outfit." She beamed at them pleasantly but secretly hoped she hadn't freaked them out. Not everyone liked being complimented by strangers.

Frederick kept darting his eyes between the plushies and the junior selling them. He wasn't sure if he could get away with not taking one at this point. Though the one that looked like it was wearing a mask was tempting. The junior looked so hopeful and proud that eventually he wore down Frederick. The Baphomet ended up with a doll that was probably going to be hidden in his roommate's closet.

Arthur was apparently becoming the flitterat whisperer now as he soon came across another one. This one too seemed a bit spooked, probably by a vespercat, and was found cowering against the giant stuffie Arthur was now in possession of. Unsure of where else to put it, Arthur made his way toward one of the walls. It was in this way that he came across a very familiar figure.
"Nicolae, is that you?" It wasn't until after Arthur had asked it that he realized Nicolae might not have wanted to be recognized. He hoped he hadn't spoiled anything for his roommate. Though, it's not like he had shouted it. He was just excited to see him. If this was, in fact, Nicolae.

Seren now had a bottle filled with mysterious rainbow-colored potion. It was pretty, that's for sure. He looked to his flitterat and raised his eyebrow. The familiar did nothing in response. Shrugging, Seren decided to down the drink. It was hard to decide if that was a bad or good decision as he suddenly felt a lot of energy but no idea what to do with it.
Yaruka: - 5 You bump - literally! - into someone who smells like cotton candy and looks a little bit familiar. They turn, wink at you, and disappear into the crowd. Whoa
Yet another new animal friend had joined her for this ball. Perhaps she was meant to have a little, fuzzy date with her after all, she thought. She giggled a little at the thought, not paying attention when she bumped into someone. "Oh! I-I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to......huh?" She looked up at the person she ran into and smelled.....cotton candy? She didn't get a good look at their face but they seemed familiar....and then they winked at her and just dashed off into the crowd! "W-wait!" She tried to stop them but they were already gone. She could have sworn....
"It seems that way...but give it enough time to feel safe and calm down, then I'm sure it'll be fine. It can come home with me if it likes." They smiled up at the boy as they took up a place on the dance floor. "Thank you. I'm Hawthorne, by the way." They were about to take up a position to dance when they saw the plushie tossed the boy's way. "Oh, that's a cute little thing!" They smield as it was put away, then felt something shoved into their hand. Hawthorne looked over to see the junior in the tacky suit scuttling away who left a strange, swirling rainbow potion in their hand. "Huh......well that was odd."
Juliette still felt the shot of adrenaline coursing through her. Now that the source of the scare was gone, her brain decided to channel her instincts into the desire for a dance partner. After all, picking a random stranger out of the crowd was way less scary than having someone breathing down your neck!
She quickly scanned the crowd for an unoccupied presence. Juliette's eyes fell on a someone who appeared to be, at least in part, a Geist. They didn't seem too intimidating. At least not with that rammykin near them. She made her way over to the stranger without too much thought. "Hello. My name's Juliette... Would you like to dance?" She ultimately found herself blushing in embarrassment but she tried to cling to what was left of her courage.

In an attempt to avoid the crowd again, Frederick found himself outside and in the presence of a pumpka. It was staring at him as if it was caught red-handed at something. Or, well, red-vined?
Frederick furrowed his brows. "What were you doing?" The pumpka just smiled. Frederick narrowed his eyes. "I'm not going to fall for that. If I have to, I'll keep my eye on you all night." The pumpka looked less pleased by that idea. "Right, so, stop whatever you were about to do. If anything goes wrong at this dance, I'll blame you." The pumpka seemed to act ashamed before skittering off the way it had come. Probably to undo whatever it had done.

Seren had found the table with all the cute nezubat plushies and he was in heaven. He normally wasn't one for super cute things, but he could imagine handing them out to kids who did well in his group when he finally got a job as a caretaker. Or maybe he'd save them for his own kids... Either way, these were cute and any kid would love them. Heck, he even loves them. Would it be bad to take a lot?
Effects of Rainbow Potion: high energy || Day 1 of 2
Being so busy inspecting the oddly warm, prismatic liquid filled bottle, Syblia had hardly noticed the ghostly pumpka that floated behind their legs until the cockatriel began to squawk rather loudly at it. Brows furrowed, they removed their arms from the table and bent down to peer under their chair where the bird was staring. The poor thing looked absolutely frightened and with some coaxing, finally began to float slowly up to the table. The bird snapped its jaws at them, earning a stern look before it decided to strut forward and n** at their ankle as it took up a spot beneath the chair. “It's okay little guy,” they assured the pumpka, patting it gently, “they're not gonna hurt you.”

As he meandered about the hall, tapping his foot now and again to a particular tune the band played, Cearnaigh found himself simply enjoying the festivities. He was quite used to be on his own, preferred it that way most of the time, so tonight was no big shock for him. The rammykin bouncing around behind him began to butt his shoulders, his legs, his rear, pretty much whatever it could reach as it expressed its boredom. The chimera chuckled as he spotted a table to small nezubat plushes. He headed toward it, picking up one to toss it to the familiar trailing him. He was pleasantly surprised as that seemed to have initiated a small game of hacky sack when the ram headbutted it back to him.
---------------------
Mbizi had wandered the halls for what seemed like forever before he decided he'd done enough people watching. Luckily for him, he came to a barrel in which a variety of apples were floating. A volunteer greeted him with a smile and beckoned him forward, asking if he would like to try. “Sure!” He grinned, moving up to the side of the barrel. With his hands planted on either side, he stared into the water, watching the apples swirl and bob in the stilling liquid. He watched one float closer to him and he struck! Dipping his head, he chomped at the apple in an attempt to catch it. To no avail it seemed as the thing ducked below him and bobbed right on past. With an amused laugh, he moved aside to let someone else try.
"I'm not sure what could have scared him..her?" She reached down and picked up the vespercat, snuggling the cat close. "Aren't you a cutie." She gave a smile to Eirian and laughed as another plush was offered her way. Ooh. Those skyfish plushies were cute!
"It seems like we are both just more and more plushies." She laughed and set the panda plushie around her neck. "...Would you care to dance?" She asked, shifting the vespercat down and brushed back her hair before offering her hand. “Um, if you want to. NO pressure.” She gave a small grin and shrugged.
Treat shrugged he wasn't sure what he wanted to do with Amber besides being with her, it seemed even though he was clumsy she still liked him and that meant a lot to him. He felt something tap his shoulder and he looked around and over to Amber and he heard a whisper in his ear suggesting he kiss Amber well ok. His mind was in a fog when he kissed Amber on the check again. "I'm glad I got to spend this holiday with you, it doesn't matter what we do as long as I get to do it with you."
