The tension of last year still made every breath and heartbeat tense and tight, but the hallowed fallen felt slightly reassured with the security that had been promised at the ball. She'd spent far too much time to herself and held up within her studies and dorm, so she decided she'd take the chance and come to the masquerade. She wore a long black dress that had layers of sheer material that were cut to look like feathers, embroidered with a shiny black thread to make feather patterns. The sleeves were long and formed a demi-glove over the tops of her hands, held in place by designed holes around her middle fingers. Attached to the dress by silver feather pins was a cloak hood of the same material and look that she kept over her head. The mask she wore was a half mask that covered the top half of her face, looking like white porcelain with empty black eyes (using black mesh to black out the eyes but allow her to see) and she simply wore black lipstick to compliment it. The only thing about masquerades were that while she wanted to find someone familiar, she couldn't really tell who was who. As such, she wandered around a bit till she heard a chipper sounding meow from the floor that made her stop and look down. At her feet stood a brightly colored vespercat that stared up at her intently and....it looked like it was smiling, as if happy to see her. It made her smile and she reached down to pet it; it seemed very friendly and when she stood to start walking further down, it followed her right by her side. Well then.....she had a new friend and she wasn't about to complain.
A masquerade ball was a fun idea and the best part was designing both the outfit and mask she would wear. She stepped into the room wearing a violet colored tux....no wait, dress.....wait....both?? A violet tuxedo jacket embroidered with a white paisley design and with long split tails trailing behind her hugged her upper body over a white dress shirt with sparkly white fingerless gloves on her hands, a mini skirt of the same design as the jacket over her hips. She wore sparkly mesh stockings and knee-high white boots with a half mask over her eyes that was simple in design and matched the embroidered pattern in the fabric of her outfit. Everything about the place looked great but her attention was drawn to the table where someone was selling the cutest looking monster dolls with....glowing bellies? Oh, how could she say no? She nabbed one and hugged it happily, smiling down at the face. This was a good start to the night.
Social events were a rare thing to grab the naga's attention but this time she thought it might be fun to attend. She wore a sari of black satin with spiderweb patterns embroidered in red and accents of gold spiders here and there, a head shawl of the same pattern covering her head. A sheer red sash wrapped around her waist that had small thin gold circles lining the bottom of it so that it made a gentle ringing sound as she moved. For a mask she had a half mask that was gold with a black spiders web painted over one half of it, a veil of the sheer red material hanging down to her chin. She entered the room and smiled at how nice it looked, heading to the refreshments to get a drink before she decided to mingle. The decorations were lovely....even the candy corn colored aetherjelly looked so real. She reached up and touched it, curious of what it was made of and she gasped when it moved and started hovering around her. "Oh! So you ARE real.....well then...." She laughed nervously which eventually died down to a happy smile as the creature seemed to take a liking to her.
They couldn't wait for this event! It was going to be such a great photo op and, despite being a little nervous about the crowd, they couldn't pass this up....but they had to figure out what to wear. The litch entered the ball wearing a mule grey robe that reached the floor, looking torn up and tendril-like with a hood over their head....obviously meant to make them look like a ghost. They wore a half mask of the same color that looked ripped and smudged like it was old and the only thing that really was off about their attire was the camera hanging from their neck. The place and the people inside all looked fantastic! A smile broadened their face and they started taking pictures immediately when a table with some adorable-looking monster dolls caught their eye. They spied one in a galaxy pattern and made a beeline for the table, making sure to get themselves one of the little plushies. It was so cute!
It seemed like a fantastic night to dress up and go to a party! She had picked up a little half mask, not wanting to hide too much of her face. It was dark blue with silver spots and had a long curling white feather in the corner. She was dressed in a sparkling black dress with heels and tossed her hair, looking about confidently.
Now where did she want to start? She paused as walked by a table, looking over the plushies, cute but no, least not right now. She hummed as she glanced around, and paused, what in the?
Did that familiar just go through a table. She wiggled her finger at the grey rat, now comfortably perched on the table. “Well, what are you doing here?” It was rather cute.
Sally had decided on dark colors, picking a classic black slip dress with slippers. It was slit up the leg for ease of movement and just a wave of shimmering black silk that ate up the light. She had a simple 3/4 mask in a black and white checker pattern.
She preferred simple. She walked in and smiled gently at the junior running a booth and gracefully accepted the offer plush handed her way. It was rather cute, and she was going to be polite.
Total 14+2=16 (Small changes because it is a ball not a costume party, lol)
Rex ;-18 Rex entered the hall he had one a simple black silk masquerade mask, he really didn't wanna show off too much so he'd paired it with ripped up clothing and some pretend blood (Zombified) A fellow Junior in a funky yellow tuxedo sauntered up and handed Rex a Brown potion with a tip of their fake hat. Rex stared at the Potion, not sure what to do with it, but thankful none the less.
Booker ;-20 Booker entered the hall he was feeling great in a very manly black tuxedo, he'd never worn one before but he loveddd it! He had a black furry mask and was wearing white dress gloves! He looked around he was feeling so good he wanted to ask someone for a dance... He sauntered up to a lovely looking Nixie wearing a half mask with a white feather, a beautiful gown and a very inviting smile! "Excuse me, I'm Booker, May I just say you look ever so Beautiful, Any chance you'd like a dance?"
Shaddaling
Sander ;-9 Sander was wearing one of his often adorned black pinstripe suits, his hair pulled back into a low ponytail his mask was a little joke to him, he'd made it into the shape of his Mustache! He was hoping it might make someone smile! He looked over at a Nightmare with a delightful Rose colored gown and a mask that had Roses and vines traced upon it; Sander stepped up beside her and with a very quiet voice said: "Sorry, excuse me, Might I say your mask is truly delightful, you look exquisite." He smiled his little smile hoping to have made her night!

Merlyn ;-18 Merlyn was feeling really excited about the whole situation, this was the first time they had been to an event like this! And they loved their outfit they had chosen; A Half skirt over leggings and a bandeau top in all over galaxy print! (Their fave!) their mask was a moon shape that covered both eyes and went across their face A Junior in a bright yellow (Ill-fitting) tuxedo came up and handed them a rainbow potion with not a word! Merlyn looked down at the bottle in their hand ... okay?
Alto wasn’t sure about this with the amount of seniors there were around, and he kind of missed Hermes and his own twin brother, but he wanted haunted hallows to be fun again. To not remind him of the terror that was last year. So here he was at the party. He didn’t really think much would come from it. Still he dressed up in his formal clothes and picked a white and blue mask that had stylized cloud wisps. A play he supposed on his name considering the Alto was from the cloud types than music.
He went over to the punch table as that had helped him those years ago when he had met Cheshire and something had caught his eye. Wait was that a familiar… did it just walk through the table. Their eyes met and suddenly it was shimmying up his side to perch on his shoulder.
“Okay you can come with me, but you better like sky fish” was his answer. ---------------------------------------
Why was he here again? Oh because Viaresu said he should try socializing then the other hybrid had something inevitably happen and he didn’t come. So here Solomon was sitting rather in a corner trying not to be noticed. He would make an a** out of himself and then someone would get their feelings hurt. Solomon wasn’t quite sure he really cared, but he was trying to be better. Maybe later he would ask for a dance or something. Tell Viaresu he tried. It was about then that another junior in a yellow suit. They handed him a potion before disappearing into the crowd again. It was shady as all get out. He looked at the potion and for some reason put it in his pocket. ---------------------------------------- Fiore twirled a bit as she looked down at her dress. Morginn had heard that she was actually going to the ball and had specifically made it for her. It wasn’t as formal as some of the others, but then again she asked it to be something she would look pretty in but could wear again in maybe everyday life. She wasn’t sure what she was waiting for in the party. Maybe she could find someone special or at least a couple of friends. Considering her luck at other school events in her life, she wasn’t too confident but the music was nice and it would be fun to get more familiars.
However she wasn’t sure she was quite asking for when the junior came up in a weird yellow suit handed her a position and disappeared into the crowd. This had to have effects. Maybe she would try it later on if things got boring. None the less the liquid looked pretty. ----------------------------------------------------------- What was Xevikan doing here again? Oh yeah his dad was worried at his lack of friends. He had been trying a dating site but hadn’t been on it too much. Socializing even over the computer still took a lot out of him. It wasn’t like he couldn’t do it. He could be the most charming person in the room if he had to. Still he had always heard that interesting things happened during the haunted hallows and well maybe he did agree with his dad. It would be nice to find some people he could trust.
Of course the moment he had thought interesting things, a junior in a yellow suit ran up and handed him a potion. Yeah he wasn’t sure he was quite asking for that sort of interesting things. Still it had to have effects and maybe… maybe it would be something that could. No that would be a crutch, he would socialize without whatever effects were in here -------------------------------------------------------------- Khensu wasn’t sure about this. He had a rather large midterm for one of his classes and socializing had never been on one of his strong points. However if he wanted to go into the field he wanted then he would need to get better at it, and what better than a masquerade ball where no one would know who he was. It was a little tricky to find a mask that had one of the eyes covered. Eventually he just went with a phantom of the opera type mask and drew on elaborate swirls and scaly designs. For the other eye, well his eye patch covered it.
Of course it was then he found what appeared to be a goblin with the familiars. He had always loved starry designs an thought to try that socializing thing.
“Sorry for just speaking up, but I thought you had a rather beautiful gown and mask tonight.” Khensu attempted, giving a rare compliment to them before going to maneuver back into the crowd.
Kayndie was fidgety, a little uneasy about being at the ball. Her mask was not that elaborate but it was beautiful and matched her dress. True her dress/mask ensemble was not gorgeous but it was pretty to her. She smoothed down the skirt and fiddled with a feather on the side of her mask as she entered a door. Hearing music she realized she opened a door quite close to the stage. Darting to her left to get away from the stage she noticed a lone Junior sitting inside a booth. Tilting her head to the side she saw the booth was filled with plushies, but these were different then the usual ones she saw. Their bellies appeared to glow! Interested she walked over and began looking them over. There seemed to be several ways to earn one, so she decided to play along. There off to the side was a small box with 12 circles on it each was circle was one of four colors with a small sticky square in the middle. Realizing it to be a game she turned to the Junior and in their hand was 3 small white balls. The object was to toss them in the same color circle, you had to get 2 out of 3 balls in the same colored circle. Laughing, she tossed the first ball and got "Blue" so she aimed for the second circle and missed landing on "Green" then she tossed the third ball and landed on the outside "Blue" circle and she clapped her hands together and chose the Orange Plush. With a slight bow she thanked the Junior and waltzed off happy.

Anaeia walked into the large room that was decorated beautifully, all the colors of the season were splayed across the room in a lovely explosion of color. Realizing her mask was on her wrist, she reached to unclip it to place on her face when a sudden smell of cotton candy assailed her nose as she turned to find the source of the delicious scent she walked right into a tall figure in front of her. The tall figure turned, looked her up and down and then with a slight tilt to their head with a small devious smirk on their lips winked at her and disappeared into the large crown. Stunned all Anaeia could do was stand there like a dofus wondering what just happened.

Callie Mae really did not wish to come to the ball, her sister Cyndal practically dragged her here. Cyndal adored these type of events, of course she did, to her it was second nature to be dressed up and beautiful. To Callie Mae it felt like torture. She detested being in a dress with make up and jewelry she felt fake but Cyndal pouted and Callie Mae gave in like she always does. Watching Cyndal work the crowd like she does on the runway, she stood awkardly just inside the crowd but not in the crowd dancing trying to figure out where she could go when suddenly a slight tap on her left shoulder had her turning and a soft barely there whisper came to her right ear. Their breath was warm and tingly when she turned her head towards the right whomever was there had disappeared! Shaking her head she tried in vain to see who had whispered something to her but to no avail.

color=pink]Cyndal was in her element, soaking up the atmosphere feeling like she belonged. Her mask and gown were a beautiful shade of Coral and Cream and she felt beautiful. Spinning around the ball room floor she felt like she was floating. She looked around for Callie Mae but did not see her, shrugging she kept on dancing. Several partners came and went and still she danced, laughing to herself. After what feels like the entire night, she exited the ball room floor to find the refreshment table and Callie Mae when a Junior approached her and held out a gleaming silver tray with several bottles on it. "Pick one my Lady" and bowed awaiting her choice. Puzzled as to why but flattered she was the one approached Cyndal chose the beautiful rainbow colored flask. Palming it she slid it into her small wristlet bag for later.
Cuileann was apprehensive to attend the ball, she did not have anyone to go with and with so little friends she felt like a outsider. The mask was light on her face, embelished with feathers and Silver over a Black mask. Her dress was Silver with Black gems that sparkled. Walking around the perimeter of the ball room floor there off to the side was a large tin barrel and it drew her attention. Why? It just did.
She realized it was Bobbing for Apples! "Oh what fun!" she thought and went directly over to get in line, there was an someone who looked like they possible volunteered was trying to convince everyone to keep their masks on to add to the allure of the Masquerade. Laughing Cuileann was game but really did not want to get her mask wet so she did some back and forth bantering with the volunteer until she sighed pretending defeat.

Lokni in his dark Blue tuxdeo adorned with Blue Shale cufflinks, and matching mask strolled about the giant ball room taking in the sights, not really one to dance he enjoyed watching everyone else having fun. Noticing several booths that were against the walls, he began to peruse them to see what games and food they had for the guests. Walking over to the first one it was filled with all kinds of sweets and drinks, passing this booth he was almost to the second one when suddenly a familiar seemed to float out of the table of the booth. Shaking his head and closing his eyes for a moment he opened them again to see the familiar not right in front of his eyes. It seemed to be staring right at him, clearing his throat he turned to walk away but the familiar followed.

Iason was bored, he wondered for the 100th time this night why he came when he could be back in his dorm with his familiars studying. He knew why he wanted to socialize but was not good at starting conversations especially with females. He was such a nerd, and he knew it. Sighing to himself he walked off to get some fresh air outside when the smell of Candy Apples hit his nose and he walked over and much to his surprise there was some plushies next to them! Ignoring the Apples he looked about to ask how he could get one but no one was there except a sign that said "Plushies please take one" and with that he chose one and walked off to get some cool air.

Eberly was excited for the Masquerade Ball. Taking the time to make his mask he was particular about how it was to look. It was such a gorgeous color, and he felt beautiful wearing it. Deep Red adorned with Green and Purple stones it glistened when the light hit it and the feathers! Oh the glorious multi colored feathers that adorned the sides. He felt like a Prince wearing it. His tuxedo was Charcoal Grey and it fit his perfectly. He waltzed his way in through the doors with a flourish and began to dance his way onto the floor. The music moved him in all directions, getting lost in it. Not paying attention to where he was dancing, he tripped over something and looked down to spy a familiar sitting there just as if awaiting him. The familiar moved towards him as if claiming him, sighing he bent over and picked it up. "I know when I have been claimed, how about I take you home real quick make sure your comfy and fed then I return? walking out the door towards home.
Ostander was going to make their mask but it did not turn out the way they wanted. Which forced them to buy one and of course it was not anywhere near what they wanted but they had no choice. It fit perfectly and the color went well against their skin so they purchased it. Their outfit was a mix of a tux and a ball gown. The top was a bodice and the bottom was pants. It went well together and they adored it.
As they entered the doorway, a shadow appeared in front of them. A silver tray was extended as if in invitation for them to partake of what was being offered. Smiling, they chose the orange bottle and thanked the server before slipping it in their pants pocked and started to mingle.

Alatheia reluctantly got ready for the Masquerade Ball, she still had notes to organize, data to record and plants to tend for her medicine log but the Ball awaits!
Getting ready was done quickly and with next to no fuss for her. She did not getting all dressed up but since this only happened once a year she was fine with it.
Heading out she walked to the building that was hosting the Ball, opening the large, heavy doors she walked inside. She looked about quickly hoping to find somewhere to sit and spied a open table. She walked over but before she could sit down a pile of plushies caught her attention. Diverting her course she stood in front of the booth and noticed it was a game of chance and the plushies were a prize. Smiling she spun the large roulette type wheel hoping for the colored square to come up that matched one of the plushies. Round and round it went til it began to slow, it seemed to tick by then clicked on Green! She won! Happy she picked up the Green plushie and murmured her thanks and went off to her seat.
Kamiaela was quite unsure of herself going to this Masquerade Ball. The customs and such in the Below was far different from that where she came from. So many different races mingled among each other with hardly any issues at all and here would be no exception. Her body frame was different then most of the other races so she opted for a dress that was tight on the top and large at the bottom and strapless so her hands did not have to go through sleeves. It took some time but she found a dress that fit her needs and was pretty. Her mask was a simple one, White adorned with several feathers.
As she walked by someone working at the Ball handed her a bottle of liquid and before she could ask why they were gone.

Cadhla was thrilled to be going to the Masquerade. She loved the unknown about the people about her, trying to figure out if she knew a particular person who's face was hidden was part of the allure. She reveled in it.
Her wings fluttered in happiness, smiling she moved about to see all the dresses, masks and tuxedos. Some of the masks were very elaborate while others were simple but pretty. Her own dress was a light Purple which shimmered as she moved, her mask was White with light Purple stones and feathers. After walking around the ball room floor several times she needed to take a quick rest and found an empty table or so she thought. She plopped down and felt something n** at her. Jumping up she saw a familiar sitting there, stretching it's legs in agitation and glaring at her. "How was I supposed to know you were sitting in this seat? You seem to disappear if I had not sat on you I would not know you were there! with that she turned to walk off but the familiar was not having it. It followed right behind her.

Counting 18 as the third highest roll for 10=15=17.
Rosadel turned and smiled at the figure who had complimented her mask "That is very sweet of you to say, thank you." Rosadel was warmed by the figured compliment and she offered her large sluagh hand out to them and then asked "Would you care to dance with me??" She asked in a soft kind tone. She looked at the figure in their pin striped suit they made a striking figure though no one could see faces with the masks. The red figure had an amusing mask on and she smiled once again "I like your mask too it's very cute."
Fiery orange eyes scanned the room as Cearnaigh straightened the jacket of his suit. He'd decided simplicity was the best bet for tonight and settled on a black suit and mask that mimicked the sharp shapes of his wings. He was making his way deeper into the throngs of people arriving when he was bumped. He stumbled a step before turning to look over his shoulder. There stood another, someone that seemed eerily familiar and the scent of cotton candy wafted about him. He opened his mouth to say something but as suddenly as they had collided, the other was gone. Brows furrowed, he attempted to follow them, if only to apologize for their bodily mishap but they were gone. Lost to the crowds.
Mbizi was quite excited as he walked in. He'd created a suit just for the night! It was a soft turquoise that enhanced the purples of his skin and the pinks of his hair and eyes. Fitted in all the right spots with an elegant air, he was rather confident in his creation as he strut forward. The mask situated on his face started out the same turquoise in the center, blending into the same purples as his skin toward the edges that mimicked the feathery look of his ears, nearly camouflaging where it ended so as to look as if it we're a part of him. He waved to his younger siblings across the way, heading toward a table to maybe grab a drink. After only a few steps, a flutter at his shoulder stopped him. His eyes lit up as he turned his head, peering at the black and white nezubat that perched on him. "Hey there little one," he smiled, "you gonna be my first dance partner?"
Lunette looked up to see who was complimenting them and not a false compliment because they knew who she was that made her feel really good. She was about to thank them but they disappear back into the part. Lunette frowned a little bit disappointed. She bid goodbye to the cute baby familiars. She brushed off her dress and went back to the main party to see if she could find someone to talk to or perhaps track down the figure who had complimented her. It would be nice she hadn't even gotten a good look at the being so she could compliment them in return.

Sander received her hand with a bow, "Thank you, I hoped it might make others smile! As you can see I am a fan of facial hair" He wiggled his nose that made his own mustache wiggle! "I would be most honored to accompany you with a dance!" He smiled widely and swept the (He assumed Slaugh by their bigger hands) onto the dance floor~
Netty turned away from her new pet, giving a bright inviting smile to the Grimm. "Well, don't you have great taste, Mr. Booker," she cooed, and offered a hand to him. "And I would love a dance with such a handsome gentlemen." She gave a coy little grin. "Call me, Netty."
