'As you pass through the market you find yourself at the face of the largest structure you have seen since coming to the city. You notice that while there is a lot of coming and goings from the building, none of the common people come near it. Instead the people here seem to either be ornately equipped soldiers and even more richly dressed priests.
A half dozen of these soldiers stand guard at the entrance and bar your path from entering deeper.

Karasu_Tenma -120 Jakatas for food in "Erin's Slice of Aren" As the commotion for the soldiers died down, the pace of the market went back to normal. Noticing Shinken watching the movement of the army into the Citadel, a elderly priest approached him, his arms folded into his sleeves. "Ah, they have that effect on people. The holy army of Aren is truly something to be seen." Smiling softly, the man extended a frail hand towards the boy, "I see you're new here, I am Gaveth a holy priest of Aren. What brings you to our city?"

Shinken wasn't exactly happy when he drew attention to himself but he figured that he could turn this into an opportunity to gain some information. He turned to the priest and offered him a soft smile. "I'm just a simple sight seer, and I must say that display was quite the sight. I really wanted to see the market and the Citadel. It's nice to meet you Gaveth. If I may ask what that man has done that is so heinous that he deserves execution?" The young gennin asked with genuine interest. He didn't know what kind of things the general had done in the rebellion and that information might come in handy later.

Gaveth nodded slowly, "Ah, you must mean Leoman... Yes, yes.. He was once a great general but he became tempted and was corrupted by the Whirlwind Goddess. Tomorrow he shall pay for his sins." The old man bowed and turned to walk away, "Now if you excuse me, I have some where to be. I wish you a fond farewell."

Shinken knew that he was now pressed for time. He had to find a way past the guards and get into that citadel. He did his best to quietly study the massive construct, playing the part of an enthused sight seer. In reality he was looking for weaknesses in its defense, and watching for shift changes among the guards. When he saw his chance he made a break for it. He used his chakra to subtly enhance his agility and did his best to sneak into the citadel. If he got caught he would have to improvise. He could only hope that the cover of night would aid in keeping him concealed.

As Shinken would approach, a guard would turn to regard in at the most unfortunate of times. "Hey, buddy! You're not allowed in there, go find some where else to play." The guard shouted. A moment later the city's alarm began to wail, drawing the attention of the guard before bringing it back, wide-eyed to the trespasser. "HOLD IT RIGHT THERE! YOU'RE UNDER ARREST! The attention of all nearby guards would hone in on Shinken, the sound of marching from within the citadel could be heard approaching... the entrance.

Hajime was suddenly relieved. He was saved! He brushed away the sweat on his brow and turned to the elderly priest, a bit taken aback by his brash attack on the priestess's head, but glad for his presence all the same. Hajime bowed respectfully to the priest, clutching a circle of red beads in his hand. "Blessings upon you, Priest Gaveth. I truly appreciate the assistance. For a moment there, I thought I was going to get in trouble." Hajime's eyes fell softly on the elder priest's, "My given name is Hajime."He bowed again with respect. "You are correct, Gaveth, and I would welcome the escort." He fell in line with the priest and the priestess, and walked with them along the alleys and bridges that lead to the Holy Citadel. As they walked, he explained his background, "I've come a long way to visit this very place, from my Temple in the East, in the Land of Fire. Word of mouth brought to ears stories of a Holy City for the devout of the Seven. While I'm afraid that I'm unfamiliar with your faith, I am... eager to learn of it." Hajime put a calculated tremble in his voice with which he intended to translate a feeling to the priest Gaveth: That he was a young monk questioning his eastern pagan beliefs and open to the guidance and love of the Seven.

As the alarms began wailing, fear visibly gripped Gaveth and the young priestess. "Oh Holy Seven... Run girl, run. We must get to the Citadel immediately, hurry boy! Come with us!"

Shinken looked startled when he was caught. He looked around for the closest exit and saw a cliff. He threw his ninja wire around nearby structure and dove down hoping to get away from the guards. Little did he know he was heading down toward the mines. When he saw this he smiled. They would have the tools to dig into the prison and they would be deep enough to be away from the guards.

The guards rushed Shinken's location but before they could reach him, he would zip line lower into the city. Staring into the depths of the city, the guards would soon move to their next task, one guard separating to alert another regiment to follow after Shinken.

Activating Demonic Illusion hellfire X2 Quote: Resolve Chakra 12,500 Stamina 8,000 Focusing 1 Toughness 39 -600 Chakra Shinken marched toward the Citadel entrance with confidence. He wasn't alone this time. He had allies, and he himself was worth at least 5 guards at any given time. When he arrived he saw somewhere around 20 guards holding the entrance to the palace. Shinken smiled and waved his hand signaling his allies to attack. While the guards were occupied Shinken began to target them with his genjutsu picking them off three at a time. He managed to take down six guards before they began to clue in to what was happening. Averus Ikaru
Averus nodded to Shinken after he had been told what the mission was now. He stretched a little bit as he listened to the chief give a rousing speech to his fellow clansmen, hearing the roar and cheer as the mass of bodies began to march for the awaited moment of glory they had been planning for. Averus sighed a little bit, as this was probably going to be rather rough.
Eventually, he was marching toward the entrance of the citadel itself, Shinken ahead of him. Though he had said nothing at the time, Averus was going to try not to use his jutsu too much. For him, he had two reasons. The first was that he was still getting used to the abilities he had discovered, some of which was too dangerous to do with his temporary allies, his miasma more than likely would cause more problems than helping others. The second was that he did not want to just give away his ability to a stranger, though that would be not a surprise to any who had just met someone.
Averus watched as Shinken then used some kind of genjutsu against several guard members, or at least he assumed it was as he saw about six guards drop to the ground. Averus placed a hand on his blade that was hidden on the small of his back. He didn’t want to pull it out till they were closer, waiting for a chance to strike only when the guards were closer. For his part, he was going to play the support for Shinken as they made their way toward the enemy, taking out any who got a little too close for comfort.

As the first few guards began to fall, the remaining guards quickly adjusted their strategy. Drawing close to protect themselves, their armor began to radiate light with a soft hum as they raised their shields and waited for the Shinken's party to attack again.
From behind Shinken and Averus, they would hear explosions and screams as the rebels began their assault on the city. It wouldn't be long before a group of thirty men and women could be seen approaching in dirty armor with swords raised high. Upon seeing the city guards and the Irikura, they let out a frightening war cry and charged.

Averus Ikaru
Averus watched with a keen eye as the enemy changed strategy when they saw their group now, approaching them with the intent to kill and bloodlust. Averus began to look for the closest guard, finding the one that would be the easiest to close the distance to before he would attack. It was hearing the explosions behind him that Averus changed his strategy, turning his head slightly as he saw about thirty men and woman approaching with weapons raised in victory.
Averus turned his attention back to the guards, moving his blade now to be in his hand but hidden along his arm. He had to make sure his strike was true, otherwise things would get a bit dicey. He also had to keep an eye out on Shinken, as he had to be ready in case their group was going to leave for a different way, out of the carnage. Once one of the guards was closer to him, Averus moved as fast as his speed could allow, quickly readying his weapon and aiming the blade for a fatal blow to one of the guards.
