Melody had been fast asleep in her bed in the dormitory she shared with Leukos. The headmaster had arranged for them to have a room together at least for now since they had never spent any time apart growing up, he didn't want to cause any strain as they seemed to be okay with rooming together. Also in part by the fact that Rhun seemed to highly entrust Leukos with Melody's safety in his stead. Not that he predicted they'd be in any danger. But it just made everyone feel better about the situation.
There was a rustle as someone shook her softly. "Melody. Hey, Melody." someone who calling to her, trying to wake her from her slumber.
...melody...
Melody reluctantly opened her eyes, the bright haired child of her childhood inches from her face, with an excited look on his face. She didn't seem startled at all and more so like she expected this kind of thing from him. She sat up sleepily, looking quizzically at him, as though to ask what he wanted. He grinned even more, backing up slightly. He obviously had someone in behind his back. Something... large.
"Happy Birthday, Melody!" he exclaimed. He never forgot the day she hatched as he always made sure to make this day the best for her. Professor Rhun was always busy on her birthday with work so she was always more than happy to spend it with Leukos. Her eyes lit up as a smile spread across her face. She lept from the bed to hug the boy tightly, as if to graciously thank him for thinking about her on her birthday as always.

Melody moved back a bit and put her hands out. "...present?.." she asked in her tiny voice, referring to the item behind him. Leukos nodded and pulled in front of him the big haphazardly wrapped present, the box practically falling off.
"I know you've always wanted one, and the old man always said no. But now it's just you and me and he doesn't have to know!" he explained as Melody's eyes began to light up even more. She set the gift down that was almost half her size and began to remove the wrapping. It was a black case. She fiddled with the latches and opened it. She was so happy, she began to make harp noises again, lifting the viola from the case as she put it up to chin. She was very eager to play it right away. Melody had asked for one every chance she got after she saw the sound it made in a piece of music Mirabelle had let her listen to.
"Mirabelle helped me get it for you." he admitted, since she'd probably know he couldn't have come up with the money for it on his own. "But I did saved up every penny to contribute!"he boasted.
She began to play it, the sound coming so naturally to her. The motions, like she'd always known how to play it. She closed her eyes and just let the bow slide gracefully over the strings. Leukos watched her intently as she played, so happy to see her like this. He wanted to give her everything she deserved and more.
...reminds me... of someone...
When she finished the song, she brought down the viola and bow and smiled brightly. "...thank you, leukos." she spoke a little louder, but her voice still fragile. "...thank you so much."

Melody ran through the streets, panicked. She felt taller, maybe someone else even. There was not enough time to analyze the situation as she flapped her wings her. She could hear a roar closing in fast as she had to leave now. As she took flight into the sky, she felt safe in the sky above the town. She turned to look down to see where she had been. A sudden sharp pain surged through her wing as she began to fall from the clouds. Something had pierced her wing as she plummeted, hitting the floor hard. Not a problem, she could just run. But her leg wouldn't move. "Come on! Dammit!" she cursed as she broke the arrow in her wing and try to flap it again. No use as it hurt too much to pluck her from the ground.
She felt a sense of dread as she closed her eyes, tears filling her eyes. She had given up. The roar of people grew louder as they enclosed the girl collapsed on the ground.
Melody opened her eyes to see this girl. This was the lady in the painting she had seen when first arrived. "No! Leave her alone!!" she cried out as they overwhelmed her. The humans cheered as a bigger male shoved the lady to the ground and began to choke her. She obviously couldn't breathe. Melody ran up to the scene, getting down on her hands and knees, trying to pry the man off of her.
The lady turned to look at her with a tearful smile."It's okay, my love. My sacrifice will save so many. Little girls just like you."she spoke so softly as she closed her eyes and winced, the grip tightening. Melody began to cry."You can't die!! Not like this!!!" The crowd began to chant, something was happening.
The lady opened her eyes, scared even though she had accepted her fate. She knew what was to come."Child, you must run!"she urged as the chanting drowned her out. Another man stepped forward with a knife in hand.
"Why is this happening?!" Melody screamed, clenching her eyes closed tightly and tried to cover her ears but the noise was too loud.
The lady shrieked,"RASIEL!"and then it fell silent followed by and eruption of cheering. Melody opened her eyes one last time, to her horror as the aftermath laid before her. Frozen, eyes wide. She screamed terrified.

Melody jolted awake suddenly, letting out a frail shriek as she began to cry. Leuk was immediately at her side, asking her what was wrong. Melody did not want to say, she shook her head and quietly sobbed. Leuk was worried but offered to take her outside to play so that she could get her mind off of it. She nodded, still frowning. Melody hugged him tightly. "I'm sorry, Leukos." she whispered.
Luekos is really happy that his daddy is back. I want to be happy for him too.
I'm not happy.
Leukos had a mommy but she's gone. He still has a daddy.
Where are my mommy and daddy?
Am I alone?
Professor Rhun says he's too busy. I can't stay with him. He's always too busy for me.
Now Leukos is going away too. He's busy with his daddy.

::I am Melody::
Andy felt good today, a confident smile glowed on her face, as if nothing had ever been wrong in her entire life. She was so happy she could sing, but now wasn’t the time for that. It had been a very complicated process but she had worked with Zaku to formulate the perfect plan. On the front side, she had told Lucian that Zaku was aware of the possibility of her being Rasiel’s daughter and that he wanted to meet the girl and analyze her further for potential information and decide what to do with her from there. Andy had relayed the command and Lucian complied with Andy, he always did. On the inner side of things, she had to get permission from Spectrum Research to remove her from the sanctuary for an hour or two. Luckily, she was best friends with Mirabelle who had the authority to grant the request. Andy explained on the down low that she knew a family member of hers and wanted them to meet. Mirabelle understood to an extent what Andy intended and further agreed not to mention it to the higher ups. Mirabelle knew Andy was quite capable of protecting Melody if needed.
Andy picked up Melody at Lucian’s home and she held the hand of the small girl. “Are you ready to go?” she beamed down at her. She had told Lucian not tell her where they were going or who she was meeting. A surprise, little kids loved surprises! Melody looked back with a worried face to meet the same grim, longing face of Leukos in the window of the home behind them. “Hey, it’ll be okay. We won’t be gone long and then you guys will be together again. So don’t look so sad. Don’t you want to go see what your surprise is?” she smiled wide and swung her hand playfully. Melody then looked to Andy and nodded slowly, her face still solemn. “Alright then!”
They set off for Aldas City at midday, which meant that Andy reluctantly wear a hoodie to at least deter onlookers from identifying her, though her wings would automatically identify her as not human, so eyes would already be on her. Hopefully, they wouldn’t hassle Melody. As they entered the city, Andy felt a lot of eyes on her, something she wasn’t used to, she had been so elusive as a war criminal that she hadn’t felt this many humans staring at her as she walked since she was a child. Since she was attacked here in this same city. She hummed lightly to herself as she walked, keeping a tight grip on Melody. When they finally reached the hospital, Andy let go of her hand so she could sign themselves in as visitors.
Melody looked around the waiting room area just inside the hospital. She heard a noise, someone was calling to her.. at the doors? Melody looked to Andy who was busy with talking to the nurse. She then began to wander by the door, curiosity overtaking her as she stepped just outside, looking back to still have sight on Andy. She then looked forward and there was a lady standing in front of her. The lady was tanned with red hair and horns. Melody titled her head a bit as the lady kneeled down to her level.
“Well what do we have here… A little girl who looks odd familiar… and those markings… It couldn’t be.” He smirk grew into a wild grin. “And what’s your name, little girl?”
Melody took a step back, nervous and scared. She took a glance back to Andy who still hadn’t noticed she had wandered off. “..melody..” she whispered softly.
“What a lovely name.. Don’t be scared, Melody..”
“Are you… a bad guy?...” she asked weakly, too frozen to take another step back.
“I’ll be honest, I am. But it’s your lucky day… I don’t hurt little kids.” She grinned with delight at her fear. “But as Rasiel’s child, you can bet I will find you when you’re all grown up…” she placed a hand on the side of Melody’s face. “…and I’m going to kill you.” She began to laugh, watching Melody’s eyes light up in fear. Then they began to change, her blue eye started growing into a more purple hue.
Obscurite looked surprised. Well, wasn’t this an absolute delight. Melody had a spirit. And not just any spirit… Oh, no. She then bursted into a hardy laugh. “Oh this is priceless!” she exclaimed, her face twisting in a murderous grin. “Does Rasiel even know about this… that his daughter has a malice just like her dear old dad... Oh ho, this is just too delicious. I can’t stand it!” Obscurite came to a stand and smiled. “Where is your daddy?”
Melody shook her head, “I don’t have a daddy.” She answered, her voice so frail it threaten to stop existing.
Obscurite quirked an eyebrow, she didn’t feel like the kid was being dishonest. “So you’re telling me.. No one told you who you’re parents are?” Melody shook her head again in response. “Well I know who they are… They are Rasiel and-..” she was suddenly cut off by the sound of Andy calling out for Melody. “s**t.” She cursed under her breath the darted a glare down to Melody. “Until next time, Melody.” She took a few steps back into the shadow and seemed to disappear.
Andy ran outside to Melody, “There you are! Jeez, give me a freaking heart attack, why don’t you. Mirabelle and Ra-… Rhun.. would kill me.” She exhaled and took Melody by the hand. “Your surprise is ready, let’s go.” She smiled at Melody and she peered back at her, her eyes returning to normal. They made their way into the hospital and into one of the rooms toward the back of the building. As they entered, Andy was smiling from ear to ear. “We’re here.” She looked down to Melody. “Your surprise is your daddy!” she waved a hand toward Zaku who sat in the medical bed. Melody blinked in confusion then her eyes drew toward the blonde-haired man, looking into the same blue eyes she shared. This wasn’t the man with the markings the lady had allured to, no, this was her other parent. The one that the lady was about to tell her about. Zaku beckoned her over with a smile.
“You must be Melody.”Melody nodded shyly and inched her way to the side of the bed. She was reluctant but then Andy picked her up and set her on the bed in his lap. Melody reached out a hand to touch his face lightly as Zaku allowed her. She suddenly hugged him, “..daddy!..” she squeaked quietly. Zaku’s smile was warm as he embraced her. Though he had lost his memories, he somehow felt deep in his heart, this was his own daughter. They spent about an hour there, Melody slowly began to talk more to Zaku, her voice getting louder, more audible as she told stories about her time with Leukos and with Professor Rhun. This had been the most she had ever talked in her entire life. Andy watched from across the room, letting them have their space. After some time, the sun was beginning to set and they would need to go home. Melody was reluctant but complied. The entire way home, she made harp noises happily as she walked. Andy could tell how happy she was to finally know. The moment they returned to Lucian’s home, Leukos burst through the door and hugged Melody tightly. Melody smiled and hugged him. “I’m back” she spoke aloud, her voice not frail in the slightest, full of volume and unafraid.
Melody was laying in the grass outside, no where near the twins that had told her they didn't want her around. That was fine, she had been just on her own now thinking. Reflecting on all the things she had done, wondering if she was even making a difference. Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes and just let the warm of the sun hit her face. "...maybe I should learn to conceal my markings..." she muttered to herself before the sun appeared to be blocked out. Clouds, probably. She sighed again sorrowfully.
"But I love your markings..." he spoke softly, a smile in his voice as he stood over her.
Melody opened her eyes suddenly, and scrambled to her feet but ended up falling back down with a small alarmed harp noise. She looked up at him and her eyes widened. "Leukos?!"
His smile widened softly, "In the flesh.." he offered a hand to help her up. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you.."
Melody practically ignored his hand, pushing herself to a sudden stand and throwing herself to him, hugging him tightly. "I'm so glad its really you.." she comment, her voice giving away that she was already crying.
Leukos was alarmed at first but relaxed, hugging her back, and even petting the top of her head like when they were kids. "Hey hey, don't cry... I'm here now. It's okay." he assured. "Mara brought me back because I can see spirits and now identify them... I can help fight if things get crazy again..." he explained.
She just held on, refusing to let go. "And what about Kira..."
"I've already talked to Mara about it and it's fine. I can explain it in detail later to you as well." he nudged her slightly to see if she would let go.
She didn't, her body language even refusing.
Leukos chuckled a bit, "Okay... however long you like.."
She nodded slowly, burying her face into his chest and just kept hugging him for the while.
