He never strays more than a few feet from Horatia, and is always muttering to himself and making random observations out loud. He's intensely possessive of Horatia and the only time he's silent (mostly) is when someone else is interacting with her, but that's cause he's too busy glaring at the interloper from her shoulders to make his usual observations.

It's probably because it's just so darn hilarious to see people look at her like she's deranged that she keeps up her oddness, but it's also that Abliene really is just quirky. She's definitely not old-fashioned or traditional, and goes out of her way to actually shun such qualities. If you can make it past her sheer oddness, Abilene's actually a pretty nice girl who doesn't mind helping others out and makes a loyal friend. Word of warning though, the more she likes someone the more possessive she gets. Potential love interests, prepare to handle occasional bouts of sulking.
