As usual, the aquatic female had decided to take refuge from the rest of the world that frightened her so. The best place to do as such? Well, a nice large body of water of course. She could go deep into the waters and not have to worry about a single soul, really. Save for the possibility of running into other aquatics like her of course!

This was such a lovely 'gift' to her. Being able to swim deep and breathe under the confines of the water. She felt so safe here too. Any body of water was a fine home for her to hide in.

The deeper she went, the darker it go. The first sign that she had gone deep enough if not TOO deep. Cherry Tesko could either stop now and rest easy here or turn back and find lighter waters. For a moment she stopped, glancing back to the lighter half of the waters above her. The females gaze then slowly returned to the path ahead of her and - Wait.

What - What was THAT? Was that a light she saw or was her eyes simply playing tricks on her?

User ImageAyotunde swam slowly through the deep, clear waters, marveling at how vast it all was. The waters back home were quite murky, and though it got pretty deep in places it was never as deep as this! He had plunged into the depths and spent that whole first day adjusting to the differences of swimming with such pressure around him. The darkness wasn't all that different from the murky waters of home, and he soon discovered that his light was better adapted to these waters. He was able to hunt small fish quite easily, though he had to be careful for the larger predators!

He didn't spend all of his time in the deep waters, for there were fascinating things to be seen on land. He didn't like the crowds though, all the noise and strange habits. He was used to the quiet and mannerisms of the tribe, and at times their absence formed a deep ache in his chest. He was so used to hunting and fighting alone that he hadn't truly realized how different being alone would be, and how it would affect him. He didn't want to go back just yet. So few left the tribe, even temporarily, that they were in danger of growing isolated. It was a part of why he had left, to make sure the world still posed them no danger, but he would be lying if he said the thrill of a challenge and seeing new things wasn't a large part of it.

Some days he would trade all those thrills and new things for just a day at home.

Today was one of those days. Ayotunde couldn't bring himself to stomach all the overwhelming noises and smells, and sought refuge in the deep quiet of the waves. He was letting his thoughts wander and relying on his instincts to warn him of danger, so when a cherry-pink face appeared in the dim glow of his light he stopped, made eye contact for a full second, then blinked his glowing eyes and turned, vanishing into the dark water. That had surprised him! His tribe was all aquatic, so it wasn't strange that he wouldn't have pinged to her presence (he thought the aquatic was female, anyway) given that was normal for him. What was strange was that since he had left the tribe he realized there were very few aquatics. He hadn't expected to meet one here, especially not this far down in the water!

HELLO LATE REPLY! ! ! Sorry if it sucks ahhh

! ! !

The sudden eye contact between glowing eyes and her dull ones shocked her! And soon enough, the glowing seemed to swoosh right away from her.

Just what HAD that been?
Another Aquatic? A strange fish? Curiosity had taken a tight hold of the usually scared aquatic. What if it HAD been a fellow aquatic? A possible friend! But just how much deeper should she dare to plunge?

Well, here goes nothing. She HAD to know what that light had been - She just HAD to! Without further ado, she followed right after the curious looking light, determined to find out just what it was.

Ayotunde hadn't gone very far. He hadn't been afraid, just startled by seeing a face pop up where he had not expected one. Even if he was trespassing on someone's territory, though he hadn't seen any signs to make him think so, he wasn't afraid. He was a powerful warrior and thought he was easily a match for the stranger if they had violence in mind. Of course he was still a young male and had yet to experience true defeat, and while he wasn't necessarily reckless he had all the confidence that came with being a young adult.

His initial burst of speed had carried him perhaps twenty or so feet away from the stranger. He used his tail to paddle himself in lazy circles, dropping ever so slightly deeper into the water as he went, keeping his eyes peeled and watching all around him. That was how he spotted the first flashes of familiar color.

Definitely female, her coloring mottled pinks and red that would have had her blend in amazingly with the coral reefs in the warmer waters he's found in his travels. Here in the murky depths his own coloring was more advantageous especially if lights. Ayotunde eyed the female flitting around in the nimbus of light given off by the appendage on his head and the markings on his skin, wondering what her intentions were.

Cherry Tesko's intentions had not been bad at all! Not one ounce of violence was in mind, not even the possibility that it could be needed for self-defense. Curiosity was the main concern here.

Though it seemed they continued to go deeper. And deeper. And deeper.
And such depths truly was not the female aquatics territory. But that shiny light was something she had never laid her eyes on before and she just HAD to know if it had been a fellow aquatic or not.

This is where she paused in her advances, blue eyes scanning the glowing spots in the water. Should she introduce herself? Say hello? Wave? Or simply stay here and watch in silent amazement?

Ayotunde watched the female's movements, always maneuvering so that he was facing her. Once he had settled though it seemed like she wasn't much inclined to move either. She just watched him.

How very puzzling. Had she never seen another aquatic in these waters before?

He used his powerful tail and limbs, tightly controlling the force they exerted so that his movements were slow, and began to swim in drifting circles around the female. He did not trust a stranger so implicitly that he wasn't being watchful in case she was aggressive, but now he was curious. He wanted to know what this female would do. What were her motives in following him, if not aggression? Her behavior made little sense compared to his tribal family, but perhaps this was another aspect of outside life that eluded him.
