Hayes Character Name: Alexander Hayes. He goes predominantly by his surname. Age: 25 Gender: Male Current Rank: Elite Agent, Project Manager, System Administrator Appearance: Hayes is six feet even and has a pleasant if unremarkable appearance. He wears his sandy blond hair on the long side of short and his hazel eyes tend to be obscured by a pair of silver-rimmed glasses. He wears his uniform only when necessary, preferring casual clothing - jeans, khakis, t-shirts with the occasional button-up or dress shirt worn open over them - in cool colors and states ranging from 'crisp' to 'comfortably worn.' Pokémon: Switch (Pikachu), Darwin (Pidgey), Amdahl (Beldum), Noel (Chingling), Nemerle (Glaceon), Therac (Espeon), Alphard (Jirachi), Binary (Umbreon) History: Hayes grew up in a middle-class family in Camphoreon City. Like many children, he took leave from school to go on a Pokemon journey when he was ten. (Unlike most, he dismantled his Pokedex to see how it worked and had to be issued another.) However, he abandoned the quest in favor of pursuing his talent with technology, which netted him a scholarship to PokeUniversity. The mediocre curriculum and lack of real innovation were a big source of frustration for Hayes, and although the graduate program was more satisfying, his subsequent career options weren't. When he was approached by a Team Rocket recruiter he quietly took them up on their offer. Personality: Hayes tends to come off as a friendly, level-headed, easygoing sort who's more interested in tinkering with code and computers than battling Pokemon, which obscures his curious lack of morals at times. His high intelligence and solid education in computer science aid him in his work, and show best in his skill at programming and hacking and the rate at which he picks up new concepts. He treats his Pokemon with the same sort of mild affection he affords most and spends time on tactics, strategy and training, but often finds himself sidelined by work. He tends to accumulate Pokemon rather than actively seek them out, resulting in an odd variety. Overall, it's hard to shake the feeling he's just playing around. Likes: Camping, robots, classic science fiction (Heinlein, Asimov, Bradbury,) Transformon, Guitar Hero, the color red. Faleen.Dislikes: Ties, seafood, the Star Wars Christmas special. Weaknesses and Flaws: While he does his work quickly and well, Hayes shows no detectable ambition and can be frustratingly passive when it comes to seizing the moment. He sometimes misses out on opportunities by inaction, and his sunny, mellow nature can be infuriating to some. Others may feel inclined to test the limits of his tolerance, or see him as a weak pushover. Future Plans: Since being promoted to Elite Agent on short notice, Hayes has been mostly preoccupied with getting his feet under himself and figuring out how to lead and run a department, something he wasn't anticipating or properly groomed for. Switch Nature: Bold Background: Switch was released into the dorms of Pokemon University as a student prank just before winter break. Eluding capture, the Pikachu made himself at home in a room with a good supply of food and electricity - and this is how Hayes returned to find all his extra laptop batteries dead, his forgotten care packages chewed open, and his senior thesis turned into nesting material under his bed. He captured Switch after a week of quiet warfare, meaning to release him in Cypress Forest, but ended up getting distracted by finals. By the time the semester was over the two had formed a loose but stable partnership. Personality: Switch is highly independent and finds Hayes' laid-back style of Pokemon ownership to his liking. Free to stay or go as he pleases he more often than not chooses to stick around, finding it to his benefit to do so. Although primarily self-interested, he holds a certain loyalty to Hayes after all these years and will defend his trainer if necessary. Attacks: Discharge, Double Team, Hidden Power (Ice,) Dig

Darwin Nature: Hardy Background: Most of the time Switch discharged excess electricity into the ground or grudgingly powered Hayes' minor electronics, but every once in a while it felt good to just let loose with a Thundershock. It was just Darwin's bad luck that his flock was passing overhead when it happened once, nearly knocking the Pidgey out and sending him tumbling to the ground. You don't really say no when a Pokemon literally lands at your feet, so Hayes tapped him with a Pokeball and that was that. Personality: Darwin is a scrappy little guy; never a very high-ranking member of his flock, he hung on through sheer determination. Now having reached his highest evolutionary form he likes to throw his weight around. Darwin is aware of Hayes' part in his new found strength and is loyal to him for this - and for giving him a chance in the first place. Attacks: Sky Attack, Roost, Steel Wing, Feather Dance

Amdahl Nature: ??? Background: Amdahl was snatched in an undercover raid on Makko Town, but not by Hayes. After some trading and shuffling, Hayes ended up with the Beldum. Although a highly useful Pokemon for someone in his field, this one seems - not to put too fine a point on it - defective. Personality: Amdahl shows no obvious personality traits or even responses to normal stimuli. It's certainly not dead according to tests, maybe just dormant. Hayes has relegated it to his PC and every now and then will try to figure out what's going on in there. Attacks: Take Down. Maybe.

Noel Nature: Naive Background: Rockets aren't supposed to receive presents in their stockings. Rockets aren't even the type to hang up stockings on Christmas. Likely that Noel's appearance was an anomaly owing to Switch's habit of stealing Hayes' socks and leaving them in odd places, coupled with a mix-up in the storage sector and some Pikachu kleptomania, but that doesn't explain why the Chingling wasn't registered as belonging to anyone when Hayes tripped over her on Christmas morning. Call it a holiday miracle. Since it was Switch who technically "hung up the stocking," he considers Noel his, not Hayes', no matter the database registration. Personality: A sweet little thing who wants to bring joy to others, Noel has her work cut out for her in Team Rocket. Curious, naive and a little clumsy, she often makes friendly overtures to those she meets. She's quite happy with Hayes, but can't understand why most of his coworkers aren't so nice. Attacks: Confusion, Shock Wave, Return, Light Screen

Nemerle Nature: Quiet Background: Nemerle's trainer died on the mountain, buried in a remote coffin of rubble and snow - and a frost stone dislodged in the cascade, which she encountered when she freed herself from her Pokeball hours too late. With her new-found power over ice the Glaceon found her way to the surface, adapted and survived, but was unwilling to leave for the human world of ski resorts and summertime below until another avalanche gave her the chance to do what she could not before - save someone. Personality: Nemerle shows a certain restraint in everything she does, including her use of sound. Attacks: Ice Beam, Mirror Coat, Dig, Signal Beam

Alphard Nature: Impish Background: From the same batch as Hoshi, Alphard is a product of the cloning labs. After his work during the Camphoreon City Pokemon center storage facility raid, Hayes was assigned to monitor the legendary's development, train it, and make sure it didn't suddenly explode. Personality: Alphard acts much like a young child - curious about his environment, he's quick to explore, pick up new concepts (some Hayes would rather he didn't,) and test limits. Generally friendly, he looks to Hayes for guidance and sticks close to him most of the time. Attacks: Wish, Psychic, Rest, Flash Cannon
