Servalence shift was finally over, and Panther wandered back down the halls. He did not want to spend another day in the sun, ever again. Anything would be better then another day of staring out at the desert, let another grunt do the live servalence.

He had taken a wrong turn looking for another veding michene, the usual one on the way to his dorm wasn't working. He failed to find one, but instead found the tech room. A thought came to his head. Reaching a hand out out he almost opened the door, but relized it was locked. Instead he knocked hoping he wasn't beeing to presumptuious.

Hayes had returned not long before, 1337's gloves safely in his quarters for later study. Switch had remained behind as well; ramen was enough to detain the 'chu in the presence of an angry Seth but once it was gone, so was he. The tech had settled down at his station again and was one-handedly paging through his design notes when there was a knock at the door.

This was an uncommon enough occurrence in the tech department, where anyone who was meant to be there just used their keycard, that the blond took a moment to be sure he wasn't hearing things.

No, he was pretty sure.

Hayes rolled his chair back, got up, and opened the door about a foot - enough to see who was outside. "Yeah?" the agent asked, brows slightly raised in a curious way.

Panther glanced at the casual cloths an then at the generally empty room bearly showing through the foot wide crack. This one looked like he could use a hand. or two. "Hi, I'm Panther." he said flashing a smile and pulling down the sunglasses to met the Tech's eyes. "Want an extra set of hands? I'm a fast learner."

He leaned back casually on his feet, making sure to have a respectible distance. He wouldn't be suprised if the door was slamed in his face. Lots of people were put off by strangers walting right in to their space. Taking of the glasses he held them in his hand letting the tech look at his face.

..well all right then. Despite his mild smile, the blond looked momentarily nonplussed. Still, he didn't slam the door.

Nemerle, who had been napping under his chair, came circling around Hayes' ankles now to have a look at this forward newcomer. The pale Glaceon sniffed at the air around Panther and gave the dusky man a forthright stare. Her trainer leaned against the doorframe and looked at him.

"Uh, okay," the blond laughed. "You want to talk with Seth; he heads up this department. I might hold off, though - guy's got a lot on his plate right now." That was pretty much the understatement of the year. After a pause, Hayes added, "But if you've got any other questions, I could help you out."

"To tell the truth, Seth scares the crap out of me." He shrugged a bit. The tranfer resquest idea thrown out the window. "I don't really have any questions, I'm just bored. It looks like you are alone in there. Did the other go hide from him? I can't imagion him particulary plesent when he's bussy."

After watching him chew out the grunts, he really couldn't imagion Seth plesent anytime. Trainers tened to suround themselves with pokemon that reflected them selves and Seth's pokemon were all big mean and frousious. Just like him.

"But my offer still stands I'll happly volenteer some time here today, if this is Seths department, perhaps having some of the anoying little things done would make him that much more relaxed."

Hayes' brows lifted slightly. At least this grunt was being honest.

The agent let Panther's probing questions about Seth pass without comment; considering the elite oversaw the base's extensive system of surveillance cameras, it would not be in the interests of self-preservation to answer.

Nemerle half-lidded her eyes at him and waved her spaded tail.

"Well, we've all got our own assignments." The blond glanced over his shoulder at his workspace, a computer rising out of a sea of notes. "Most of the little things around here are bugs in the code, that kind of thing. Not exactly pick-up projects." He smiled apologetically, then felt compelled to ask, "What sector are you from?"

"I'm from live servalience." he suck out his tonge. "Most boring job on the planet I'm sure. Some how I always get stuck with the early morning shift."

He glanced inside the room and shruged. "Well sorry, didn't mean to bother you over nothing. Woth a shot." he backed up a bit, only a little disapointed. He wanted to ocupy himself with something productive, that wasn't training.

Still fixing Panther with a direct blue stare, the Glaceon tilted her head to the side and let out a puff of air.

The corner of Hayes' mouth twitched in a slightly sympathetic way at the mention of boring jobs. "Just be glad it's not soul-crushing," he advised. There was a slight wry edge to his voice, and then it was gone, and he began to withdraw from the door, a hand on the handle.

"Don't worry about it. Why not talk to your supervisor? They might be able to work something out for you." Team Rocket might have been a criminal organization, but it was still an organization made up of people who had to work together.

And anyway, a bored guard was a distracted guard.

"You are right, it's not soul crushing." he chuckled. "I can imagine worst. I'm not bad on the job, and that's the problem. I never fall asleep when I'm doing it. lately the longer hours have been getting me, they pushed up live surveillance since the raid a while ago."

He gave a glance at the pokemon at Hayde's feet. Was it, glaring at him? The hair on his neck raised, it felt like it had been going on for a while, and he hadn't noticed till now.

The Glaceon's stare was, in a word, impassive. It was also evaluative. She didn't seem to be glaring at Panther so much as looking him over and measuring him against some personal metric. She met the grunt's gaze and blinked her large eyes just once, slowly. Yes, I see you. Hello.

"Well.. maybe it's time to ask for a promotion, then," Hayes suggested. He glanced back to his workstation; the monitor had gone dark to save power, and noted Panther's focus on the Ice-type. "She's just checking you out," the blond explained. "She does that."

"Oh, well I'm glad it's not just me. First glacion I've seen, despite the large number of eevee and eeveelutions running around lately. I think they have a nest in the walls or something." He chuckled. He wasn't sure how to handle the promotion comment. After his last bought in training, one thing was made painfully clear: he wasn't up to par yet. For now he just ignored it. One didn't get promotions by asking for them.

"I'll see you around. I think I've bother you long enough. Thanks for putting up with me." he turned, ready to go.

"I know; seems like everyone has one these days." The agent grinned slightly down at his; she gave Panther one last look and then meandered back into the room, twining a figure-eight around her trainer's feet in the process.

"Uh.. yeah, sure." Hayes seemed slightly puzzled by the thank you, or at least what the thank you was for. "Nice meeting you. Oh, and hey," he added as the grunt turned. "Good luck with things."

The door clicked shut behind him as he returned to his work.
