Moving to a spot with more people sounded like hell.
He knew, why, logically, why Ancha had insisted on it. As much as he preferred to isolate himself, he also wasn't an idiot. Hydor, reluctantly, followed her and her cat where they went, throwing a baleful glare up at the monster's belly as he ******** this," muttered Hydor, a perhaps obvious emotion. The glowbot seemed to agree with the way he gave a short nod in his direction.
Hydor didn't respond.
Anser, Transcended Eternal of Geese & Minkowski, Senshi of Butterflies Location: I8 > I7 Action: Anser Heal, Minkowski punch Anser HP: 77 Minkowski HP: 27 - 12 + 12 + 15 = 42 Rolls: 7 + 10 + 1 (Article of Strength) = 18 x 2 = 36 (Anser) (alright i think I got it I'm sorry) 2 (Minkowski)
"... C'mon, I get the sense I could do more."
Minkowski, shrunk into herself, appearing smaller than she even was naturally, glanced up at Anser. She always seemed so brave in the face of these things. Minkowski couldn't understand how or why, biting down on her lip. "How-- what do you suggest?"
"Let's move closer to the spike." Anser gestured for Minkowski to follow her. There were more people over there. As much as Anser tended to prioritize smacking people in the face, her leveling came with something just a bit more important, she thought.
Order, when they were together, were stronger, and letting any of them fall would ruin that.
As Minkowski ran, she popped the berry she saw some eat at a distance, hoping it would help the pain from the sparking in the air.
Anser, meanwhile, called on her healing, face brightening when she spotted a father figure and running over to him. "Dad!"
Well, he supposed they were doing something to it as the chain broke, their ears were being assaulted by sound and it seemed to have gotten just a bit smaller. If Caliban's ears weren't still ringing, he would have said something about how they could definitely do this.
Unfortunately the sound was mildly confusing his brain and it took him a moment to come up with words. "Right". Yep, that was all his brain could come up with right now, and with that he leapt at the creature again, intent on hitting it again.
Thestias, Deep Space Senshi of Homeostasis Location: I1 > G3 Action: Tired of being isolated and running off to a place she sees more Order, shielding HP: 100 - 35 - 38 - 12 + 15 = 30 Shield Roll: 8
Being stuck by herself, surrounded by electricity and lightning, was not comforting. The ways she felt the electricity strike her arms was a rude awakening from how it felt in her homeworld. While her homeworld was chaotic, it was nothing, at all, like this. This was too much.
There was no one to look toward here either, too. And while Thestias was very used to this, it looked like there were advantages to being around others once again.
It would take her time to get used to this. Were these all people who had also been isolated on their worlds? That could not have been right; so many of them looked the same; so many were knights, and it had been years since she had seen knights...
Still, she glanced around her and fled toward the strength she saw in the distance, trying to protect herself in the interim.
Nembus, Super of Electromagnetism & Elliott Location: I5 > I7 Action: Reuniting with Phaethon, Nembus throws some things from subspace at the snake, Elliott beams it and eats a berry Nembus HP: 125 - 38 - 35 = 52 Elliott HP: 100 - 38 - 35 + 15 = 42 Attack Rolls: 2 + 5 = 7 || 9
"We should probably catch up to Phaethon, should we not?" Elliott's tail slashed back and forth as he kept glancing above him. The snake had crashed into the shield that those purple aliens had helped put up. It appeared to be damaging some of their allies; while Nembus and Elliott had thus far avoided the electricity, he did not trust they would keep doing so.
Nembus tossed something between her hands that she pulled out of her subspace. While she wasn't sure what it was--oh, a water bottle?--she threw it up toward the snake anyway. "Yeah," she swallowed hard, "yeah, probably. Where did they go?"
"To the spike over there, I think, with the alien senshi?"
Nembus glanced over while Elliott eyed the snake again. Crowded. While her instinct was to shrink on herself, Nembus shivered and nodded in agreement, following her Mauvian once he had beamed the snake.

General King Axinite Location: B6 Action: Attacking ; giving Tyndareus Almadel’s Berry ; talking with him and Taenite Total: Roll + 15 HP: 113
“Tyndareus,” Axinite said, not quite sharply but clearly with strong intent to keep his focus. “You’re doing a good job. Don’t stop.”
Cookies and fruit and energy drinks weren’t going to do much right now, but he pulled the berry Almadel had given him from subspace and pressed it into Tyndareus’ hands. “Just a little longer.”
His eyes found Taenite’s, and in a split second he gave him a quick look over. There was only so much he could do but Taenite seemed to be holding his own. Axinite found relief in that, but there was little joy to be found here. He was grim-faced and pale and knew it, because he’d turned away from the both of them as soon as possible.
Axinite didn’t stay for conversation. What if one word was the difference between life and death?
He gripped his axe tightly and lunged into the air. When he attacked this time, he didn’t come down. He swung his axe relentlessly, teleporting again, and again, and again. Fast enough that gravity couldn’t pull him down.
It was only when the serpent began to pull away, out of reach, that he dropped back down again. He hid the fact that he was breathless with moderate success, and though his arms were sore from the weight of his axe, he never set it down.
If he’d been alone, he might have stayed with the serpent and hit it for as long as he could stay on.
Instead, he thought he should check on Taenite and Tyndareus. Or, at least give them one less thing to worry about.

General King Lepidolite Location: B2 Action: Attacking ; talking to Strengite Total: Roll + 15 HP: 114
A few other agents had joined the area, for which Lepidolite wasn’t going to complain. There had been some extremely good displays of competence, and praise was most certainly in order. He’d have loved to give it now, but hollering across the area was probably going to be more distracting than anything else.
Strengite was close enough that he didn’t have to yell.
“You think I can’t use this thing for close combat, too?” he laughed. “Near, far. This thing does it all. But those daggers are cute. You any good at throwing them? I’ll get a board out, we can compare knife throwing techniques. Or just play darts in my office, that might be easier.”
He was still in good spirits, and still full of energy; he drew his hammer back and threw it again, mindful to avoid the others in the area as he did so.
Between Chrysocolla and Brassite, Hessonite was in good company. There weren’t many opportunities to make conversation between strikes but it was her job to be aware of things without being too over the top.
She saw how hard they were fighting, each in their own way.
She had every reason to be proud of them–and she intended to make sure those compliments were passed on.
Not one to be shown up, she rolled her shoulders and went back for more.
Almadel Location: N/A
As Coco tried to summon Almadel with his card, she would find that rather than calling for his arrival, the only response came to her in the form of the card she was holding.
Briefly, the text shifted to a new message:
Sorry, looks like you just missed me. I’m not able to make a trip to you right now. Please recall all sales are final: no returns, exchanges, or refunds. If this is an emergency, please call someone else.

The Calamitous Hollow was enraged.
Its enemies were small, inferior. They shouldn’t be able to do so much damage. And yet, they were able to hit it from below, on a platform that shouldn’t exist. They were able to climb atop it.
It squirmed in pain from hundreds of little attacks, each which built up rapidly.
Electricity from the spikes seemed to be arcing enough that their energy rivaled the storm around them.
The shield was a prison that couldn’t yet take root. The Calamitous Hollow was too large, but only marginally.
It has been trapped once before. It was cleverer now.
But, it was starving. It was desperate. In a rage of fury, it launched itself away from them, rocketing high above the shield. And then, it dropped. It built up speed rapidly, but instead of crashing into them, it dove right into the clouds.
Lightning flickered around them all, violent and strobelike.
For nearly a full moment, it traveled in the clouds around them, picking up speed.
And then, finally, it stopped.
The lightning stopped.
Everything stopped.
The energy in the air was slick and dense, like an invisible sludge had gathered. It was suffocating.
The clouds were frozen in place.
And then, all of a sudden, they exploded away from the great serpent.
It had sucked all of the lightning out of the air and was firing an enormous electrical blast.
At Earth.
With the clouds parted, a new sight opened up to them.
They could see the great, beautiful expanse of space. Their Solar System. The sun, which should have been blinding, was only a pleasant light. The moon glowed beautifully.
The sight of Earth took up half the sky, and the Calamitous Hollow poured every ounce of energy it could–right at it.
Only seconds passed before it struck.
Suddenly, an immense explosion filled the sky. A dark cloud burst forth, like a volcanic eruption. It blew in every direction. There was no sight of Earth. No sight of the moon.
The Calamitous Hollow watched with eager eyes, but its body heaved from the effort. It looked like it was gasping for breath.
Its body had shrunken again, but it exuded such a powerful, volatile energy. Even the empty space around it began to crackle, as if so disgusted it was trying to tear away from reality itself to escape.
The air around them wrinkled. It split.
The black black lightning was back, but it had no source, it simply manifested.
Around them, the view of their universe was changing.
Where once were familiar stars, familiar planets, new images began to appear. In each new tear, another sight to behold. An unfamiliar world, close and colorful. A strange galaxy, swirling peacefully. A bright star, bursting with life.
The universe must have seemed so small when it was just a tear away.
It was done and undone so easily.
A vision into another corner might last for a few seconds, a few minutes, but it stitched itself back together. Quickly at first. And then, slower.
The dark cloud was rushing towards them at an impossible speed. It was getting close enough to see a rolling sparkle within it. At first, it looked like sparks.
And then, it looked like stardust.
And, finally, it slammed into the Calamitous Hollow like a rogue wave at sea.
Whatever was holding it afloat failed, and the serpent, writhing, came crashing down again.
This time, when it slammed into the Vanguardian shield, it finally failed. But then, it was never expected to last forever.
A pulse of energy shot out upon collision but the creature itself seemed to be floating in the air above them. Scales, much smaller than before, shot out in all directions in the impact. Some ricocheted back into the space above them but some struck the ground below.
The Calamitous Hollow hovered above them, held up with what little lingering energy from the shield that had yet to fade.
But it wasn’t defeated.
It was mad.
This time, it got up much quicker. This time, it was small enough to see who was hurting it.
This time, it attacked with a purpose.
Black lightning erupted again, all around them.
It was silent, but it hurt. Being struck by the lightning felt like every fiber of your being was coming undone. It was cold, and hot, like being torn in two.
And stitched back together, if you were lucky.
Quote:
The Calamitous Hollow is smaller now than ever. And, more dangerous.
Everyone managed to do 4314 damage!
Additionally, it seems like it was a good idea to have spent all that effort building those shields to protect Earth; now that the Calamitous Hollow has attacked, the defense mechanism in the shield has dealt an additional 604 damage.
THE CALAMITOUS HOLLOW 2,759 / 20,000 (?) HP
The Calamitous Hollow is within reach! The Vanguardian shield has broken, but the residual energy in the air is able to slightly repel the creature. The Calamitous Hollow would have done 100 damage this round, but thanks to the efforts of characters in F3, they were able to deflect 74 damage. Each character only takes 26 damage. However, the Vanguardian shield is now defunct. It cannot deflect any more damage.
Black lightning is striking the field relentlessly. It is extremely painful and causes great damage. All players must roll two 1d10s per character; your first roll will determine your character’s action, and the second roll will determine if you are struck by lightning. If you roll a 1-3, you take no damage; if you roll a 4-10 it means you were struck. You take 10+(Roll) as damage. If you are rolling multiple characters in the same post, the results will always be in this order; it will always be Action Roll, Damage Taken. If you have 3 characters, you will roll 6 dice; the first two dice are the action roll and damage taken of the first character; the second two dice are the action roll and damage taken of the second character; the last two dice are the action roll and damage taken for the third character. You cannot swap values.
If your character is attacking or using magic, please read the following information:
All characters will roll 1d10 to determine effectiveness of their action.
Characters will get need to add the following modifiers to their rolls:
Second stage characters get a +5 to their roll Third stage characters will get a +10 to their roll Fourth stage characters will get a +15 to their roll.
Because of the unique energy in the area, magic will act abnormally and is sorted into one of four groups:
Attack: Physical attacks, magical attacks, and debuffs fall under this category; all squares can attack. You do not need to apply modifiers; this will be tallied by staff. Shield: Whatever you roll this round will be applied towards a shield erected during this round; the shield magic will protect everyone in the square from damage reflective of your roll and modifier. This information will be updated in the gdoc as soon as possible so everyone in the square is aware of current buffers, but if you are using shield magic it is encouraged to note this in the gdoc as soon as possible. Any excess of protection will not carry over to the next round. Shields will protect against new damage acquired during this round but cannot provide additional HP for damage taken in previous rounds. Heal: Whatever you roll this round will be applied towards healing a character/characters within your square; whatever you roll combined with your modifier is the amount of healing you can give, to be distributed as you please to one character or divided amongst multiples. You must clarify in your post how you are dividing your roll if split amongst multiple characters. You cannot heal someone above what their max HP could be. Please make sure this is clearly stated in your post. Healing magic can heal damage taken in previous rounds. Buff: Whatever you roll this round will be applied towards character/characters within your square; whatever you roll combined with your modifier is the boost you can share with other characters. You can divide this boost amongst any characters in your square, to aid in attacking, shielding, healing, or all three. You must clearly list where your boost is going (and provide values if dividing it to share amongst multiple people.) Please make sure this is clearly stated in your post.
For the sake of this RP, each round will consume one senshi magic, or 15 seconds of a Knight’s magic pool. Dice roll only determine damage done, not how effective the magic was; even if you roll low, you can ICly write the character to be as effective as you think appropriate. The dice will just be used to OOCly tally damage against it. You do not need to consider your stamped radius/range, as attacks/magic will be assumed to affect anything within the square including the Calamitous Hollow). While magic may have been approved to have a set number of targets, please refer to the above parameters as it affects how certain types of magic will work! Attacks that might usually target only one person can be split amongst a group, and magic that might usually target a group can instead be used on a single target.
If you have a Late Blooming Senshi, a Chibi Senshi, or a Deep Space Senshi with wonky magic, you have the option of doubling the damage done by your 1d10 but whatever you roll is also the amount of damage you do to yourself. For example, if you roll an 8, you will do 16 damage to your target, but also 8 damage to yourself.
IC RP Items and Permanent Accessories can affect your rolls! More will be added to this list as they are brought into play but the following items have such effects; you will need to disclose in your posts that your character is using one of these items. You can use one IC RP Item per post in addition to your dice roll. Permanent Accessories can be used in all applicable posts (including ones where you are using IC RP Items). A list of IC RP Items and their effects (both for dice rolls and on the field) will be kept in the gdoc and added to regularly so please check there. Please also reach out to Xigglet/Kyuseisha no Hikari if you have questions about specific items not yet on the list! Not all items may be usable.
IC RP ITEMS
Almadel’s purple diamond pin - grants a one time bonus of +10 to a roll. Almadel’s purple berry gift - heals a target +15 HP once Crystal Flower - doubles rank modifier
Permanent Accessories
Metallic Bracelet - can be used towards one roll; it will double the total (modifiers included) (this is not Almadel's bracelet; Almadel's bracelet has not had an effect reveal yet) Article of Strength - adds +1 to all dice rolls (regardless of magic type) Article of Resilience - reduces all damage by 1 (include that your character has this equipped so it can be factored into HP) Silver Whistle - does ten flat damage (will not add +10 to buff/shield/heal rolls but can do 10 damage while characters are buffing/shielding/healing) ; can be used once and cannot be factored into modifiers Fractured Crystal - allows the user to move to any location on the field; they cannot bring a guest with them. This allows the user to travel to the Calamitous Hollow. This item can be used once (but, if using it on the Calamitous Hollow, you can also return to the square you left from after attacking)
While characters can OOCly join as late additions, ICly they must have arrived immediately prior to this post. If your character is a latecomer, they will arrive in spaces E4-E7 and must have damage calculated they would have accrued as if they had been there all along.
From this point on, characters can only move two spaces at a time; you can move to any square touching their current location (including diagonal squares). If your character is moving, please indicate their path of travel in your post. Players can also utilize this google doc to log their character’s location for easy reference. When posting for this round of dice rolling, please use the following form:
Character Name, Rank, and a link to their journal Location: (Choose one square, A1-I10; you can move two spaces per round (not per post), and can move into any square touching their current location (including diagonals) Action: (Post a brief summary of what your character is doing; this includes actions as well as who they are interacting with; if you are using magic, you must include if it is attack, shielding, healing, or a buff; you must also include your target, especially in the case of shielding/healing/buff since you will need to allocate who gets what value of your roll) Total: (Roll + Rank modifiers + Bonus modifiers (if applicable) HP: (Keep a record of your HP here. First stage characters and non-humanoid Mauvians have 100 HP, second stage characters and humanoid Mauvians have 125HP, third stage characters and Mauvian Senshi have 150HP, and fourth stage characters have 200HP. If your characters reach 0 HP they have access to a unique prompt (see below). Once you reach 0HP you cannot be revived by healing magic or available IC RP Items. You can choose to reduce your HP to 0 but you must indicate this in the HP section of your post if you are voluntarily reducing your HP; you cannot recover from this. Heals and Shields may be implemented after you roll so you do not need to reduce your HP to 0 in your post and can choose to wait until the end of the round to see what calculations are; Heals and Shields by players in your square that post after you can still be applied until the end of the round and may be factored into your HP unless you voluntarily decide to drop to 0HP.)
A log of HP and damage is tracked in this spreadsheet; if the information looks inaccurate or is missing something, please let Kyu know so it can be updated! It is fully updated at the end of every prompt so effects will include all boosts that have occurred in that square. Modifiers have a note in each box to explain numbers but please reach out if you have questions! If your 'Current HP' is listed at zero, this does not mean you are presently at zero; this is what your HP will be at the end of the round if no one shields or heals in that square. All characters who had more than 0HP at the end of last round can still roll to take an action this round. You can also roll to take an action and choose to reach 0HP afterwards in the same post.
When a character reaches 0HP they can no longer roll any dice. They will find themselves detached from their corporeal body. They will fall into what appears to be a catatonic state to those around them; their eyes will turn dark and glassy and seem to reflect a distant galaxy, or players may choose to have their character appear covered in sudden, violent black lightning that seems to totally evaporate them; they will disappear from sight. How this appears is player choice and only IC flavor text ; OOCly your choice will not have any difference. Once a character reaches 0HP, either by dice or by choice, they will be able to travel the battleground freely but they will only be able to interact with others who have reached 0HP. They can see what is going on around them but cannot interact with anyone who is still active.
Or, they see the Dark Star.
Unlike any part of our universe that they know or are familiar with, the Dark Star is a unique anomaly. It is not of this universe, and when you look at it, you know.
It is an immense black star. Looking into it feels like trapping your soul. It hungers, like the Calamitous Hollow, but there is something so immensely terrifying, so captivating, about the Dark Star that it is impossible to look away.
A searing purple energy bubbles around the Dark Star, mingled with pure white light. Giant clusters of crystals swirl in a ring around it slowly. There are no other stars beyond this one, only darkness.
The surface of the Dark Star is cracked, if you can stand to look at it for long enough to see. Purple lightning dances across the surface, but the star itself is so immense. You’ve seen the Calamitous Hollow.
What else could the Dark Star have birthed?
Why does it need Heralds at all?
There are few, if any, who lived to see this sight. You are among a rare circle.
But then, maybe you’re not living, either.
Maybe this is it. The end. You’re trapped here. You failed. You are here, alone.
You couldn’t save Earth. Who can save you?
(Characters who have reached 0HP may be able to send fleeting images or unclear thoughts to others who are wearing the Sparkling Earrings IC RP Item; characters cannot use technology or recording devices in this area (no ComTech, Tablets, Senshi Phones, Knight Rings, Dark Mirror Compacts, or Mauvian tech)
The scale that was once in D7 has come crashing through the shield and is blocking passage through the space; you cannot travel through this square. The scale in H8 is badly cracked and moving through the space is difficult, but not impossible.
While characters can post multiple times between mule prompts, they can only attack once, can only use one IC RP item, and can only move a total of two squares per round.
The next prompt will be posted Sunday the 27th at some point after 8 PM EST. Prompts should remain at an ~48 hour schedule. Latecomers to this RP will still receive the giftbag but are not eligible for any additional items from it. Players will not be able to make up for missed rolls or expired prompts, and if there are repercussions for joining late, they will be announced with the new prompt. Please make sure you are reading all of the OOC rules when a new prompt is posted, as this section and requirements for posting will change as the RP progresses! If your character is just being brought in, they should have sustained 73 damage so far (83 damage must be taken from previous rounds (35 from Round 1, 38 from Round 2, and 10 flat damage for shield failure from Round 2), and you will take 26 damage from this round but might have reduced damage if you are in a square with someone using a shield, or who is healing your character).
You cannot reserve posts. If you make a post, you must write at least one relevant sentence within one hour. Please respect that if you do not fill your post out promptly, players may need to skip over your post; please do not backfill posts after a reasonable window, as this may affect the players who posted after you. It is recommended to have pre-written your post as much as possible prior to rolling to reduce the time it takes to fill out these posts.
A summary of general information from this ORP is available on the first page of the thread~ If you have any questions or if something got missed, please PM The Space Cauldron or DM Xigglet on Discord! Please quote the mule if you are interacting with an NPC or interacting with the environment in any way!
Tempesti had never believed in an afterlife before all of this. The inevitable quiet of death was less frightening than some unknowable realm beyond, less overwhelming than the reality of eternal rebirth. Some endless cycle in which she had no control and seemingly died young every time. The scraps of memory that had wormed their way in from her defective starseed made it abundantly clear. Whoever she had been before she was Rowan was well aware that for those with the title Sailor Tempesti, there were very few examples of people who lived long enough to go grey. But this wasn’t the Galaxy Cauldron. Despite her minute knowledge, she knew that this was something else entirely.
Even knowing what it was, she didn’t want to give it the dignity of a name.
She wanted to rage against the unfairness of it all. To demand answers from whoever or whatever let that thing into their reality. But somehow she suspected that the crackling waste of space before her wouldn’t be inclined to answer her questions. Furious tears trickled down her cheeks, resisting all attempts to blink them back.

Feel free to have people pick up on her dumb, disjointed thoughts and images
Siegfried, Knight of Neptune Location: E5 Action: Having caught Cybele, doing a healing for Danube and Ariccia, also taking "not even knighthood could save my ankle from that" injury Total: 7 + 10 = 17 [Split: +9 for Danube and +8 Ariccia] HP: 62 - 19 = 43 / 150
With Cybele in his arms, Siegfried landed on the 'surface' of the field with a sickening crack through his left leg. White hot pain shot up from his ankle to his knee and he dropped to one knee. He didn't drop her, thank goodness he didn't drop her, but his entire vision went white when he tried to stand back up. s**t. His ankle screamed at him as he gently guided Cybele back to standing.
"Not. Good." He spoke through his locked jaw, barely able to contain the agony. He'd be no good to anyone if he couldn't even walk. Damnit!
Slate gray eyes snapped up to the sky where the Hallow was surging up, up up and then down, down down. He gasped for breathe as the clouds froze then exploded and Earth stared back at them. Earth, glowing and home and ---
The Hallow fired and the Earth winked out of existence. The stars he knew shifted and changed and something else crashed into the serpent. Then it crashed down into the shield and shattered it like glass.
Lighting flashed and slammed into him. Whatever pain he'd felt breaking his ankle (or worse) paled in comparison to the way he felt cold and hot and split down the middle all at once. He might have screamed but he couldn't hear it over the blood pounding in his ears, over the static that was trying to overwhelm him.
Somehow, he saw the Cybele pages with them stagger and faulter. Somehow, he flicked the tuning fork on his cutlass again. Somehow, he had enough presence of mind to focus on his magic.
He wasn't so sure he'd still be conscious the next time the beast attacked though.
Ariccia, Page of Cybele Location: E5 Action: Eating her berry, trying to not die, smacking the snake Total: 4 HP: 6 + 6 + 15 = 27 / 100
Ariccia stood stunned as her princess launched herself into the air to try to attack the serpent, and continued to watch as her princess's husband launched himself into the air after her. She couldn't move as Sieg hit the 'ground' hard, nor when she heard the sickening crack of something breaking in his foot or leg.
She couldn't move when the sky cleared and Earth was visible and the serpent fired at it.
She couldn't move as white hot agony slammed into her like a bull elephant mid charge. Every nerve ending screamed and she almost sank to her knees. Almost. The music rippling from Siegfried's weapon soothed some of her injuries. Just enough to keep from feeling like she was being torn apart.
Ariccia wasn't quite sure how she remembered the berry existed. She only realized she'd eaten it when she swallowed and felt just a little bit more energy flow through her limbs. Just a little bit more strength in her weak knees and legs.
The Hallow was close enough to attack, but it was fast and angry and dangerous. She glanced at Siegfried, at her fellow knights, her Princess.
Then she stumbled her way forward and smacked the beast with her willow branch.
Cybele's Hunt
sorry for the double quote I didn't realize eridu was not in the square XD;
Sailor Terebellum, Deep Space Senshi of Resonance Location: B3 Action: EMOTIONAL DAMAGE~ Screaming, attacking, evaporating (even her berry would not be enough to save her XD) Total: 2 (doubled roll from dss magic) HP: -4 - 1 - 18 = -23 / 100 KO'd fam
No, no no no nonononono--- She knew something was wrong the minute that serpent launched itself into the clouds. Terebellum watched in glowing horror as it sucked up the lightning, as the clouds exploded, as the world she'd called home for the last three years came into view.
She screamed when the beast fired. No no nonononono this could not be happening this could not be---
The beast crashed into the Vanguard's shield - she didn't see what brought it down - and Terebellum felt nothing and everything all at once. Lightning tore her in two and left her stumbling and shaking and trembling.
It was close. It was so very close.
She called on her magic again, but it rolled off it's scales and back into her arms. A cracked sob echoed in her chest as she stared, hopelessly, into the abyss.
The abyss stared back, coalescing in it. The place the Hallow came from. The star was cracked and bubbling and roiling and she could not look away. Not when it wanted her, not when her very essence seemed drawn to it.
She couldn't save Earth...
Just like she couldn't save her own world...
In the darkness, she wept and curled in on herself.
She had failed... again.
Chibi Drakonia, Senshi of Komodo Dragons Location: B3 Action: Look what you did, you traumatized a perfectly good chibi! Eating her berry, attacking, then realizing Tere is gone Total: 14 (doubled roll from chibi magic) HP: -4 + 15 - 7 = 8 / 100
She was really quite done with this creature, she had to say. Or dream. This had to be some sort of dream, except it felt so very real; how could it be a dream? Yet, if she thought of it as a dream, then she could just wake up from this nightmare. She'd wake up and she'd be safe and she'd be cozy at home with her dragons and stuffies and---
There was so much screaming.
Drakonia didn't quite process that the serpent had fired on Earth until something slammed into it and it crashed down through the shield. Agony shot through her, making her woozy and shaky. She wasn't supposed to feel like this in a dream...
Wait! The berry! She monched down on her berry and the dark spots in her vision cleared. Okay! The serpent was smaller, it was closer, she could really attack this time! So she did. She ran at it and hissed, smacking it with another spectral tongue of acid-yness.
"Ms. Tere! We still have a chance!" she said, glancing behind her. She blinked, looking at the space where Terebellum was. Except now she wasn't. No where she looked could she find the green skinned senshi. It was like she'd just up and vanished.
Andronicus, Knight of Uranus Location: G2 Action: Having some thoughts, attacking Total: 3 + 10 = 13 HP: 51 - 14 = 37 / 150
Ashur went off to help the Vanguard with the shield again, and Andronicus stayed put this time. She knew where she wasn't welcome. Truthfully, she couldn't fault the Vanguard from hating her for what she did. She hated Lyndin for what he'd done too. The side eyes she got from the other senshi or knights sort of rolled off of her as well. It wasn't that Andronicus didn't care, or didn't feel some sort of... remorse for killing that Commander.
There just hadn't been a way to avoid it in her mind at the time.
They'd tried all the diplomacy and the tinkering and the investigation, but Lyndin still took matters into his own hands and bargained the lives of people he didn't have claim on for it.
She glanced at the Vanguard and up at the shield. The shield was ingenious, really. Would that this whole thing hadn't left a bad taste in her mouth. A canon of Chaos, a bleeding harpoon --- whatever sort of 'moonbeam' the Moon did. The combined might of both sides of the war was wearing it down. Slowly.
Too slowly.
She watched in horror as the serpent shot through the clouds around them, sucking up the lightning. The clouds parted and her eyes went impossibly wide. The Hallow blasted Earth with the energy it had collected and the sky went dark. No. Nononono. Rage and sorrow and rebellion coiled tight in her chest and she let out a scream of defiance as the beast crashed through the shield.
Pain laced across along her veins and bones and nerves but Andronicus didn't care. Her hands tightened on her staff and she launched herself at the serpent once again. Lightning shot down her limbs and she faultered a little, but kept going. So what if she felt like she was being split in two?
(...& also attacking the Calamitous Hollow briefly.) Location: Moving to C8 HP: 51 - 100 - 17 = -66 (equalizing to 0 at end of round if not healed above 0) Roll: 7 + 10 (Almadel's Pin) + 10 (Eternal) = 27 Almadel's Pin 0/1 (+10DMG), Almadel's Bracelet 1/1, Almadel's Berry 0/1 (+15HP), Dusky Red Gemstone 1/1
At some point she'd dropped to her knees, grimly setting her hands into the Calamitous Hollow's scales as if that could ground any of the lightning out; it was keeping her on the monster's back, she thought, but barely. It'd torn holes in her gloves, scratches where blood was beading up red and raw, and her body wouldn't stop shaking from the shocks, from the height, from the movement of the beast.
She was... she was really going to die, wasn't she? This was now. This was real. This was her body starting to give out from the constant shocks, from the magic; even now it was crawling along her skin, black static and sparks, and she grit her teeth as another wave of magic rushed over her. The Hollow was generating more magic up here than she'd thought was realistically possible, lightning crashing through the clouds; but if she was going to die, Chrysocolla thought, she was going to die standing. She pushed herself up to her feet with a sob of pain, arms clutched close to her body in a one-armed hug, and staggered to a standstill as she
looked
up.
And it was beautiful.
Maybe it was a stupid time for her to think anything about this was beautiful. Maybe she was starting to be delirious as her body was starting to shut down. But she'd... never been to space, before, not really; Astraya barely counted at all, she'd been too busy trying to keep it together and figure out how to get home that whole time, trying to calculate if she could catch Kurma and pin him to a wall and break his stupid little spine while she dragged his starseed home to Metallia. And Almadel's museum had been beautiful, too, but she'd been so busy fighting bugs she hadn't really had a good moment to take much of it in.
But it was all so beautiful, all those other worlds, all those other places. Probably all dead and empty husks, their life a thousand years gone, even though they made for beautiful graves. For a moment she almost wished she could go to one of them, step through one of these rifts that were opening up all through the clouds, all around her; but even for Senshi, for Knights - who was going to take her to their world? To their Wonder? When she'd made a habit out of breaking these people, of hunting them down, of hurting them for nothing at all besides having the gall to be anything but Chaos in her eyesight? It was always going to be a missed opportunity. She didn't think she missed it all that much, all in all. It was hard to miss what she'd never known in the first place.
She didn't think she'd ever been to her world, either. But how would Chrysocolla know? She didn't remember anything before the Negaverse. She didn't even use that world's name these days, and she hadn't for years. It was nothing to her and nobody to her, just some girl she wasn't anymore, some girl and some world that were only contextless names —
The rift that opened up right in front of her should've startled her, but she was so weary she barely even took a step back. It was so close she could reach out and — something about it felt — there was something that felt familiar in a way that wasn't familiar at all —
Oh, what the hell. Who was going to stop her but her own fear and cowardice?
(She looked to the side, for a brief second, and saw Faustite far and distant; and then she looked away and thought solely of the rift ahead. No. He didn't get to color this for her. This was hers and hers alone.)
She had the opportunity. She should take it.
Chrysocolla stumbled forward and put one foot, then another, on Warhol. Its wayward daughter, a thousand years gone, finally home even if only for the briefest of moments.
It was... beautiful, too, for a tomb. Not as dead as she would've expected, given she'd been drawing power from Metallia for almost a decade now; it was maybe Grecian, more art deco than anything, marble buildings and streets faceted with crystalline gemstones; there was sparse green grass growing through cracks in the ground, even though the air was so silent, nothing but the wind blowing past remnants of a culture nobody had belonged to for a thousand years. Dust covered every crevice and corner. Where she'd stepped into overlooked a plaza; this had served a purpose, once. She couldn't have told you what purpose that had been if she tried.
And... she could feel it in the air. In her heart. In her starseed.
It wasn't a dead world. Not at all. Slumbering, hibernating, maybe in stasis, maybe faded: but it wasn't dead.
Because it recognized her. It knew who she was, as surely as she knew what it was.
It knew she was home.
There was almost a sense of urgency to the feeling. This connection wouldn't last - the rift would only be open so long - but it could help her. It could fix this. She could come home, and wear that true name, and walk these streets in white just like any other senshi might visit their homeworld. They could fix this. Fix her. Everything it had, it would give for her, and she would be free. But it wasn't the only thing she felt.
Laurelite's attack earlier had almost ripped open the world, or it'd felt like it could, with how much of Metallia's Chaos it had left in the air. Chrysocolla had seen people - not Negaverse members, of course - shaking, crying, in pain. She'd felt it, overwhelming as it was, and she had done her best not to flinch like so many of her ilk. She wouldn't be afraid of Chaos, of anything Laurelite brought to the field, no matter how much it made her feel like a butterfly pinned to a corkboard.
That chaos, that Chaos, was still here; lingering in the storm, in the air, in her. And Chrysocolla had brought it with her to Warhol; by proxy, Chrysocolla had brought Metallia to Warhol.
She'd been looking into Ascension for some time, but it'd never seemed like exactly the right time to go through with it? Poppy Anania still had her uses, even if she wasn't nearly as useful as Chrysocolla. But this? She'd brought Kurma to Metallia, once, and failed to keep him at all. Now she had something better to give: she had an entire world. (And it might have been wishful thinking, but she thought she could feel Metallia's awareness, some vast impossible thing.) She could do this. She would do this. She would never get this chance, ever again; the rift was already starting to close behind her, and she had to make this choice now.
Chrysocolla placed one hand over the hole on her chest, where her brooch would've sat if she didn't belong to the Negaverse, and reached out. First to Warhol, to resonate with that connection it'd brought to her, with all the power it wanted to give her to save her, like a moment of hope — and then, second, passing that power to Metallia. This is for you. This is all that I could have been. All it deserves to be is wrung out for its magic. Why should I care about some stupid dead planet that doesn't even have my name?
She could feel that bloom of power. For Metallia, she thought with every bit of loyalty in her soul, and then her entire world ignited.
(It didn't hurt. Not exactly. Not most of it. It was like that overwhelming bloom of Chaos from earlier, from Laurelite, but... personalized. In every cell of her body, burning out some part of her that would never exist again except in memory. Remaking her, body and soul, and crystallizing the flesh into something better. And her starseed — her starseed was the part that hurt. Of course it did. Burning mortality and the capacity for reincarnation out of a soul was probably going to hurt no matter how it was done.)
For a moment she was standing on the back of the Calamitous Hollow again, where she'd been before, wind rushing through her hair: but she wasn't like how she'd been before. She was never going to be like that again.
It wasn't just any day the Negaverse could count a new Ascended General among its ranks, after all.
For a second she was there on the Hollow's back, steady; she drew back one hand, felt the magic running through her, and cast. Her magic, her senshi magic, was different now. Crueler. It could hurt all on its own; maybe the Hollow would feel that, maybe it wouldn't, but she was hurting it nonetheless. She knew she was.
And then she was on the ground in a flash of crackling black lightning, feeling... calm, mostly. Focused. She'd been about to die before this, she was sure of it, and beneath the calm there was a yawning emptiness of fatigue: so much magic had run through her body in the last few minutes that even like this she could barely bear it. She was bleeding Chaos like smoke, lightning-cracks cut harsh through her skin, but it didn't hurt. Not really. That was a nice change.
Beatrix was here. So was General Niter. Good. And so was Princess Ganymede, which — let her and her boy (Valhalla) know. Let them tell people, if they wanted. Let them tell anyone. They wouldn't dare try to execute her with the Queen here, and speaking of that: Chrysocolla took a (steady, steady) step forward, and bent the knee to Queen Laurelite. "My Queen," she said. It felt like the thing to do here.
The crash of lightning above her head, combined with how she could tell the monster was staring very directly at her, at them, and just how close they were to Earth, made her yelp. Her hair was all standing on end, she swore. If she had a tail, she could tell by the way the rumpy tail she had was twitching that it would also be tucked under her body.
"Encke!" She tried her best to get his attention over the images around them. It was terrifying-- "That thing!"
Encke glanced up from his wrist as he finished adjusting the malleable alloy, glancing up to Viatrix first and then beyond her to above. "Have you not figured out what it's called--"
"Never mind that! Now might be a good time to use the thingamajig!"
The shield above them had definitely shattered. They weren't protected anymore. "The whosawhatsit!"
If they weren't protected anymore, they only had so much more time before they were in just as much danger as the Earth itself was, and how could they protect Earth in what time they had remaining if they were all dead?
"The thingamabobber!"
Encke, Transcended Eternal of Plasma Action:Nullifying Lightning Damage in E4, E5, & F3 (People can still choose to have their characters KO if they wish!) Rolls: n/a HP: 37
Encke took a deep breath.
Right, focus.
"Not sure if this will affect anyone around me," noted Encke, stepping forward and away from the others who had gathered around them in the interim. "Stay out of the way for now, alright?"
They might have looked very specifically at Basiluzzo before turning their attention forward. This lightning above him was different from what he was used to seeing flying above his head on Encke's Comet. It echoed what he saw twisting around the skies when he had been standing on the comet weeks ago, but considerably worse. Considerably angrier. The Herald was weaker than it had been, but it wasn't necessarily backing down, either.
If anything, it took this as an opportunity to lash out even further.
He tried to take in everyone around him. Some other people were heading in his direction. Encke would worry about that in a minute. There was a small group of people around Cybele, who was being held by her husband. He could see where the Velencians had made their stand with their shield, which had held back a lot of what the Calamitous Hollow had done so far. What he needed to do was make sure nothing else could be done.
At least, as well as he could, anyway.
What the ******** was he supposed to--
Never mind.
His mission was to protect Order as well as he could. If they were to survive Chaos, any Chaos, he needed to be certain they could make it through this. There wouldn't be any further mission if the bulk of what still lived in the Cosmos died here, on Earth, one of the only living planets he had seen and heard records of, if he didn't try his best to make sure they all stayed alive long enough to take this thing down.
... This Herald, that was evidently connected to all these other places, and what the ******** was he supposed to do as a former youma Enckean who belonged to that blast of power that the Queen had launched at this--
He shuddered and glanced back up.
No.
Encke hadn't considered using himself as a lightning rod before. Of course, he hadn't necessarily had something like this on him before.
He pushed his wrist, wrapped in the bright wiring he found connected to the alloy on his homecomet, up into the air to chuck the metallic purple rod in front of himself and shut his eyes as it yanked some of that black lightning toward him instead. His hair stood on end. His breaths felt heavy.
Something felt like home about this.
Something felt worse.
[quoting everyone currently in squares E4, E5, and F3, I am so sorry, You do not need to roll for lightning damage to your characters in these squares!]

Grieve was right, of course; a yellow-menace, quoting edge in graveled bass, while speaking in (what sounded to Mira) like harsh epithets befitting an entire world's end. All while Mira dug her pretty, chipping nails into the rippling, glassy blackness and shed glass tears while *praying* like she believed in something worth praying to! She didn't-- but if spitting the words at the creature under her breath kept her own shield up one second longer? If panting *Stay With Me* one final time, as if she cared about the haphazard misfits around herself *more* than herself (lies, lies, lies, it's all for me, myself, my world and I!)
Then she would do it---
Because she didn't need a bachelor's degree in 'duhology', with a minor in 'yadontsay?' To not only see that Grieve was right, but to also agree with the particular flavor of that rightness. To maybe feel in some small, thin part of her hole-bearing chest that Grieve was, in fact, a sooth-sayer and seer all in one.
'Two Will Fall'
And the shields came down---
And the creature came down with it---
The wana-be-murderer's (Hy-Brasil) earthen wash of healing couldn't soothe the fear that skittered over her skin like the residual of touching her tongue to a high-voltage battery -- a cattle prod -- a --
The ache of every itch, of spending time down on her knees, of taking grounded damage simply from *existing* within the presence of the hulking, scale shedding thing. Oh, all her little hurts let themselves be known in this moment, every stifling bead of sweat as her magic finally faltered, failed, drained itself out like color from her cheeks leaving her looking earthily-ashen. It occured to Mira, maybe far too late, that she would likely die here -- if not now? Then certainly soon. All while surrounded by a stifling number of Order, all mix of deer-squrie she couldn't name the faction of, and veiled knights going on about their boyfriends...
"Yes---" Speaking up exhaustedly, now that she finally felt like she could hold enough static-shocked air in her lungs to do so. Now that praying didn't feel like something that had possessed her mind, body, and soul-- She was thoroughly exercised of the urge to keep digging for magical depths she didn't posses. For energy she didn't have. "If you could all please kill this thing!" Glancing furritively from the Knight, to the Shark-Fish, to the Knight's purple-elf boyfriend?
"You can praise the sun -- or drool over what it tastes like afterwards! I--I'm tapped---" winded as she was, and she wouldn't've stayed splayed out of the kneel as she was if her legs didn't feel like splayed, froggy jello beneath her hips.
"And I'm too pretty to die like this!!!"

Sailor Scout Attack:Stay with Me!FINAL USE! OUT OF MAGIC!
Mirabilite utters a heartfelt plea, and sheds a single crystalline tear. The tear shatters upon hitting the ground - sending up a mire of iridescent sparkles that seem to coalesce and condense in the air around her. Almost like a glittering dome of static.
AOE: 10 foot radius Number of Targets: Only those within the dome. Number of uses: 3NONE REMAIN! Duration: 20 seconds Effect: All who are caught within the sphere are compelled to stay within it. Mirabilite's heartfelt plea and tears are meant to endear and focus them on her. An easy target, a helpless innocent. They're open to attack her- but why would they? She's just standing there asking them to stay with her. Just for a moment...
Should any opponents overcome the magic that makes them feel endeared towards Mirabilite and choose to attack her, they will take half the damage of their attack. This works for both magical and physical attacks. Similarly, if Mirabilite attacks them, she will take half the damage herself as well.
Mirabilite cannot leave the sphere, but anyone else can go in and out of it; the magic will compel anyone within the dome to stay with her, and anyone who attempts to leave the dome will feel like they are trudging through molasses. Because the attack can be seen, those outside it can avoid stepping into it.
The dome does not act as a shield, but if anyone outside the dome attacks someone inside with physical or magical damage, the damage will be split evenly among everyone inside the dome.

There was no safer, no mildy shielded, out of the way escape route. Not insofar as Dia was concerned, as he scrambled and sheer luck and small target size saved him. Never before had he been so joyous to be lithe and short, a bit of billowing fabric in the breeze.
"No one is leaving anyone! No one is dying!"
Gauging the rest, and oh-- How rough they were looking now!? Dia hadn't taken the time to glance over before, so busy saving his own hide before the shield had collapsed and scrabbling to skate the worst of the scale strikes and lightning scalds. Weissite looking worse for wear, trying his best to take the creature with them, Feldspars curses sounding distant in his own ears as Calaverite seemed to give as much of himself as he could. Dia couldn't help but wonder, how many attacks did the Senshi have left, even as a Super? How much longer could even a b*****d like the black-bird of Carrion stand against such endless onslaught...
"No one is---"
He wanted to insist upon his prior points, that no one would die. How he wanted to believe it! Even as scale half his height thudded into the ominous, swirling floor of the place, silencing Dia as the shield cracked open and failed one final time. The eerie silence of the moment -- before lightning struck across, black lances scorching the earth. Maiming his small group further -- flies plucked of their wings -- hitting the mesh of a zapper -- and his grimaced features turned into a shout as Rak and Vaux descended from striking back against the poorly named 'Herald', and Markeb made one last strike out of hope.
There's nowhere to go -- moving won't save us -- a litany of slammed doors silent no's that filled his mind because it wasn't fair!!
They all had to survive ---
We have to!!
"This can't be all that we can do! There has to be more---" hissed desperation as he struck once more with tired claws towards the beast, glancing back past the rainbow stagger of Diesel and Gremlin' tucked into a hood, back to Rak and Narci, because he couldn't bear to watch them part even as more lightning seemed to try and separate them all.

"If it's the last thing I do---" Promise, oath, whispered over and above his rage-mingled joy in answer to Hylonome's plea-- The continued confusion that sat in his heart for *why* over Hatsya. How he felt so strongly for Hatsya's goodbye, turned hello. How glad he was she'd stayed close enough in the protective sphere of Hylo's life-bringing, gossamere flowered magic to be healed.
How angry he was that she'd ever even thought she should've left in the first place -- not for any thing -- not for one, single reason...
The emotion sat tucked away under his hammering heart and aching ribs, a hastily packed wound ready to be lanced at a later date. When they were finally alone, and when he could pick it all apart; every bit of bloody gauze and uneven stitching. A conversation worth having, in order to better understand her, and himself, and--
The whole of the sky crashing again apart and filling with light did not come as a surprise, the aliens shield failing one final time like some movie-made echo of a second coming. The snakes rage was a bit surprising though, the form it took as the serpent finally fell low enough to be clamored upon; they the ants they were, ever pinching at it with their useless fangs and sparse magic.
He lashed out one final time, with distant fire, as lightning lanced through him, putting him on his knees. He prayed he took most of the blow. That he somehow spared Hylonome from the worst of it, just like he'd promised he would. It was only right, she was a symbol of a symbol of purity and resilience. A bloom able to survive even the harshest of elements and environs. Even in a place like this? He knew she had to go on. That she would, especially if he and the others had anything to say about it!
There has to be an end to it--
"It's not down yet, but neither are we." He snarled as he looked to Sodalite and Actaea, to Hylonome's bright, huddled form. "We're not going down here...we can't..." Vicious refusal, because they couldn't, because he wanted more, because he wasn't done being with any of them yet in this life! If it was only him and him alone?
But his whole, precious team-- 'The snake can't ******** have them, neither it, nor it's void, nor death!'
"Hatsya!" Turning furious emeralds on her, uttering what soft befuddlement he could stand to think past the pain of finding his feet and brushing the still ringing sear of sparks off with a grimace. "You owe me a date after this, do you hear?"
Oh yes -- they had oh so much talking still to do ---

Forgotten Spell:"Taxane's Fire" Last One / Done
An eerie chartreuse green fireball leaps from Prehnties dagger in a radius of up to 20 feet; when it hits the target it feels like being hit with a baseball and contact is caustic enough that it can cause skin agitation or acidic burns. Lasting damage is up to the player, but the blast can also briefly poison a target; symptoms of poisoning can include a fast heart rate, muscle spasms and labored breathing for as long as the player likes. He can repeat this action 3 times.
