Slateport was created because the clean water made the food abundant in the area, so a local market started to grow. The city then soon became a harbor where ships and boats come and go. There is a lighthouse near the south of Slateport that illuminates the sea for passing ships. It is a great shopping destination with a local Slateport Market. Captain Stern is a big name in Slateport. He is an undersea explorer who runs Stern's Shipyard, the local Oceanic Museum and also working on the S.S. Tidal which runs in and out of Slateport City after its completion.

Landing in Slateport Simon returned Noivern stretching after flying that far. Being a port city there was a lot to it. However there was no gym here, instead there was a contest hall. There was a Museum, a shipyard, harbor and a battle tent. Oh and how could he forget that the market. Aside from the normal shops someone in the Pokecenter mentioned a phony trying to sell meteor rocks for a lot of money. When Simon asked about shards they said he didn't have any of those.

Leaving the Pokecenter Simon went into the market and saw the makeshift stand with the man selling rocks. "Have you seen any shards from these rocks?" Simon asked as the man looked confused. When he shook his head Simon sighed, "These rocks," he said to one of his customers, "Are from meteors. I've been tracking them all over the world or at least a few regions now." He removed a shard and showed it to them, "These are a bit more valuable I guess but are harder to find." The Costumer bought the baseball sized meteor from space before heading out to look for shards too. The man closed shop to also look for shards as well but thanked Simon for confirming his wares weren't just regular rocks.

Leaving the market place from the north he came upon the Contest tent. It always seemed interesting but for him, only as an audience member. It wasn't just entering a Pokemon into it but it was making sure the moves were correctly blended then feeding poffins to make sure that they were at their max. Moving into the tall grass to find a shard he pleasantly surprised to see one. Walking towards it though it started to move then rush off as it was carried away by a wild Oddish.

As he chased after it Simon threw out Pignite who, since learning rollout, rolled into a ball so that he could keep up with Simon and Oddish. Finally they got him cornered and Pignite popped back to normal ready to defeat the Pokemon and get Simon that shard.

✿ ❀ It wasn't very long before Isis and Nocturne touched down in Slateport City. This was where Isis knew she would be able to find her gift for Nis and Sin. The question was, how long would it take to find them....? Her gift, that was, not the twins. She wanted to give them a Plusle and Minun to start their journey with, since she knew they loved their respective electric mouse ever so much. Isis figured while she was looking for these two particular pokemon, she could give her own some training with any pokemon they came across that wasn't a Plusle or Minun. She returned Nocturne and let out Hylia instead. "Hylia, we're going to do some training, okay?" Isis checked with confirmation to the quiet master sword and hylian shield. The Aeigislash tilted forward slightly in what seemed like a nod, so Isis took it as such and began wondering around looking for wild pokemon in the area.
It didn't take long. The first two pokemon Isis encountered were Gulpin. Poor things. Against a ghost steel type, there really wasn't anything they could do, since both poison and normal type moves didn't effect Hylia at all. They were both quickly dispatched, but Isis was pleased with Hylia's growth. They hadn't gotten much of an opportunity to train together yet, so this was nice. ✿ ❀

Isis insisted, returning the Aeigislash so she didn't have to struggle to keep up with Isis on the way to the pokemon center. Not to mention, she should probably heal Sin's minun, lest she hand hm a KOed pokemon. She made her way down to the pokemon center and gave Nurse Joy Hylia's pokeball, as well as the minun's, then waited for a moment while they were healed. After that, she made her way back out of the center, letting Hylia back out of her pokeball as they made their way through Slateport. They managed to spy more of the little electric mouse pokemon, but only two Minun again. It seemed they were in surplus, whereas the Plusle were nowhere to be found. How strange... But Isis wouldn't give up. Hylia finished her battle and reverted to shield form, casting a glance to Isis and waiting to see what actions they should take next. "Well, I'm sure there's got to be a plusle around here somewhere, we just have to keep looking. And in the meantime you're getting stronger, so I'm not complaining." ✿ ❀ Isis spotted another vague mouse shape in the distance, but once again as they approached, it was another minun. "Why in the world is there more minun here than plusle...?" Isis grumbled. Normally she wouldn't complain about it, but she was excited to try and catch the twins before they got too far into their journey to gift them their favorite pokemon in the whole wide world. Hylia quickly dispatched the mouse for experience, and Isis caught it, since it appeared to be significantly stronger that the first one that she'd caught. Knowing the twins, they would need their pokemon to be of equal strength so they'd both be appeased with their pokemon and not fight over it.... Or at least not as much if the strength difference were obvious. With that, Isis and Hylia continued their search, but didn't manage to find much. A wingull, oddish, and another gulpin, all defeated by Hylia while Isis bemoaned her luck. ✿ ❀

✿ ❀ After Hylia found and beat an electrike, Isis finally spotted a mouse shape. She almost didn't bother, assuming it was just going to be another Minun, but out of the corner of her eye, she spotted red, and turned back with a gasp. "There! There there there! Hylia quick!!" Isis commanded, feeling as excited as Nis would have felt upon seeing one. She got her pokeball ready as Hylia took the Plusle out quickly, throwing the sphere to capture the Plusle. Finally.... Isis heaved a sigh of relief. This plusle seemed about on par in strength with the second minun she'd captured, so she let the weaker one go. There were two gulpin in the area too, but Hylia was tired, and so was Isis. Now that she'd found the pokemon she'd been looking for, she didn't want to train any more. After all, she had to catch the twins before they got too far into their journey, so she wanted to leave as soon as possible. First though, she made her way to the pokemon center to get the two electric types healed up and ready to be presented to her cousins.
After that, Isis moved back outside the center, returned Hylia, and let Nocturne back out of her pokeball so that they could fly to Littleroot town. She hoped they could make it on time! ✿ ❀

True enough. Sebastian followed along as they started to head their way out and towards Slateport City, eyes still glancing around and taking in the new surroundings. It was only beginning to dawn on him how massive the city they were heading away from was. It was like a giant shopping center now that he was beginning to consider it. He returned his focus to Jay and his pokemon as they walked. When questioned he perked up a moment, glancing down at Gin.
"Hm...? Oh!" Sebastian blinked, Gin giving a little chirp, arms wiggling a bit as she still took in the sights. "Ah yes, actually! That Cottonee you traded me… she evolved a little while ago." He remarked, head tilting a bit as a smile creeped on his face a bit. Gin recognized that she was being spoken of, limbs wiggling again as she chimed in with a ‘Whimsi!’ of her own. "She’s a… what was it… a Whimsicott now. Like… forty percent more cotton fluff." He remarked. That actually reminded him of a small fact that he still hadn’t dealt with. Like the fact that she wasn’t much for walking.

He'd been in Kalos some but he wasn't as familiar with the pokemon specific to that region as he was with others. "Well congrats, then," he remarked with a light smile, "S'pose that happened while y'all were trainin' 'r somethin?" Hopefully it hadn't been that long ago... It would be just a little embarrassing if he had just been missing that little fact this whole time, and hadn't noticed it or something. He couldn't recall whether he'd been noticing the new call for very long or not. Evidently, that somewhat good memory of his was very, very selective...
