Nickname(s): Friends and family call me Sebs or Sebby, and there are a few who call me Gatsby.
Gender: I'm a male. Height: I’d say about 6’1” or so.
Weight: Err… about 155 lbs? I don’t usually weigh myself.
Age: I’m a whopping 24 years old.
Birthday: I was born September 14th.
Home Town: I’m originally from Lavender Town, in the Kanto Region.
Personality: People probably expect a guy like me to be serious and somber given my background, and at times they’d be right. However, I’m well aware there is a time and a place for that kind of attitude; and that is not every day of my life.
Outside the family business, I’m actually a rather upbeat and friendly individual. Some say I’m pretty chill about most situations, slow to anger and have an uncanny ability to not be phased by a lot of things. Of course when I am phased, you can tell. Really tell. That being said, I make it a habit to bounce back to a good state of mind. Life is too short to be sad or down for too long.
Fears: The pokemon Snorlax. I'm sure most people have had some whacky encounter with this pokemon at some point in their lives. Mine? Kind of traumatized me. Sure, I'm older now and... not as small as I was back then. But let's just say I'm still not a fan.
I'm also not a fan of heights, though I can push through it. Sometimes, you just can't avoid this kind of thing, right? Unless it's a Snorlax.I'll avoid that.
I'm also a bit worried that I won't be able to help my brother once he starts his own journey. I'm not stupid but, I've been out of the field for a while. Things change.
Goals/Dreams: To learn enough so I can be a decent mentor to my brother. Trainer Class: For now just a Trainer, but being a Coordinator seems like it might be fun.
Favorite Types: No real favorites come to mind, though I like Dark types for warding off those pesky ghosts.
Least Favorite Types: I'm not a fan of electric types, but only because all that static messes up my hair. That's not fun. Ghost types also make this list. Most the one's I've encountered? Rude. Just rude. Nothing ruins the mood of a service for someone's departed pokemon more than some Haunter making faces in the background.
History: I’m not going to lie, I don’t actually know the story of how my parents met, but I’m sure it involved some kind of lovely discussion about burial rites and the funniest remarks ever asked to be etched on a headstone-
Am I confusing you? Sorry, let me try again.
I come from a family that deals in the funeral business, pretty much. My father was a memorial mason and my mother a funeral director. Like I said before, I don’t really know how they came to meet, but I’m sure it included some awkward stuff. Either way, they found one another, married and settled down in Lavender Town, where I was born. When they weren’t taking care of me, they were helping others honor their fallen pokemon by getting them placed in the Pokemon Tower proper.
Now I know, you’re probably thinking “Wow, that is some level of depressing.” But honestly? I heard a lot of amazing stories from trainers about their pokemon. There were tears, laughs and of course the occasional awkward story moment and if anything, it gave me a level of appreciation for the experiences you get when you go on a journey.
So when I turned twelve, I decided I wanted to have my own. Ya, this isn’t my first time doing the trainer thing, but the first was a bit short lived. I went out and did a bit of exploring, met a few pokemon; some amazing, others traumatizing, along with loads of different people.
And then life happened. And by life I mean, new life. And by new life I mean my baby brother was born. I wasn’t really that far into my journey when the folks asked me to come back and help out, and of course I happily obliged. I mean, its family, what’s a guy to do? Plus, I wanted to be there for my brother. It can be a bit weird growing up in an environment like that. Besides, there’d be plenty of time for me to pick up my pokemon journey.
… Of course that was about ten years ago? Ya, it’s been a while. Still, my brother is older now and getting to that age where he might want to start his own journey and you know, I want him to have a mentor he can rely on if he needs help. And what better person than his own brother? Of course, that means I need to get back out there and get a clue… a lot can change in a decade. So I’m getting right back out there. Why not, right?
