Keg:
I'm not saying she is but you should probably have her tested for autism because everything you've explained is everything my oldest nephew did and will still do on occasion and he's autistic.
Took my MIL forever to get him potty trained he just wasn't getting it and it took him to start seeing a speech therapist before he got his speech on track. He still parrots you when he's upset or too excited but that's just how he is and you have to be patient, he'll eventually get it out what he needs to say.
I know you don't like therapist but at the very least have her tested just to be sure because if that's the case they will give you the necessary tools to work with her.

Nater:
Sounds like yall had a blast. Sophia shows no interest in balls at all and I've tried getting her to play with them but nope, lol.

Words:
Sophia can say get, dogs, nana, drink, mama, daddy, Jordan, Adam, bad, bath, teeth, and nap. Everything else is still pretty much babble lol but she's a chatter box. XD

She's had her DNA tested. Idiot pediatrician thought she had Downs when she was born so they sent us to a specialist hospital for 3 days. She's perfectly healthy.

Lucky Star

So me and kyle talked and decided we can't really afford a house right now. But, we went and checked out a trailer park earlier (I'm a little antsy on living in a trailer park) but this one was niiiiice, with a 5 acre lake and huge trailers, with yards and it seemed like a lot of elderly people lived there. As the one we checked out that's for sale is 50000 and 1900sq ft we're seriously leaning towards buying that and eventually moving it to land and add on a basement and stuff when we have more money...
But we have to tell the apartments by May 31st if we're gonna move out or renew our lease.

Cyrus officially has too many words to count. He turned 2 and started talking up a storm. The other day he word for word asked me "mama can you get bear a butt butt? " and then tried to put a diaper on bear Lmfao. He's great at sentences and repeats anything and everything we say

Faerie - I'm glad I'm not the only one who calls a diaper or pull-up a 'butt' instead. xD

@Keg: When did she get her DNA tested? Autism doesn't mean she's not healthy and she might be low spectrum. Honestly, if she's having trouble expressing herself with emotions, I would probably try a speech therapist to evaluate her.

William is babbling more and I'm starting to hear some words in his babbles. It could be just me hoping. I told James that when he turns two and hasn't picked up more words, I want to get him evaluated. If nothing else I might get tips on how to help him better.

@Nater: It sounds like you had a fun day. William loves throwing the ball at me to kick. Whenever I brush my teeth he wants his brushed and it goes back and forth in me getting his teeth then him getting his teeth and then him wanting to brush my teeth.

Today I went and got food for my dad while my mom visited and watched William. (My dad is disabled and I don't know if he's really capable or not of watching Will by himself). He was such a happy baby, just running around and going in circles and laughing. heart I love his smile and laugh.

Also, what does everyone think of this lady's special punishment regime?
Keg: I don't know if you can tell if a child has autism from DNA alone, it's a neurological issue.

Dreams; Just remember trailers depreciate in value, whether they are built up like a house or not.

Diapers: We call them butts too haha.

Keg:
You can't do a DNA test for autism as it is a neurological disorder. What ends up happening is you go and see a specialist and they administer a behavioral evaluation specifically meant to test for autism.
And like Digi said it by no means indicates your child as being unhealthy, my nephew is extremely healthy he was just really delayed in some aspects and advanced in others.
My MIL would of never gotten him tested either unless his pre-k teacher had pulled her aside one day and suggested it.

That's actually pretty smart and one way to get your kids to do their chores, lol.

I really kind of like it, but at the same time, (and I hope it never really happens), but what if the grounding is for something extremely serious. Would you just double the amount of points or make it so it isn't available at that time.

I can't even think of a grounding serious enough. Maybe lying about where they're going for the night? They say they're spending the night at their friend's house, but really they ditched out to spend time with someone else or something?

And I didn't mean to imply that you can DNA test for Autism, I was merely curious when and why the doctor thought she had down's syndrome.

You know that's a good question actually, I mean I guess something like this would really only apply to the smaller offenses because I'm not sure how it would work for the more serious ones. Like you mentioned sneaking out and lying or something else big like catching them smoking or drinking, things like that I would assume a different punishment would be needed because I couldn't even imagine the points on those. Lol

Oh no, I just wanted to clear that up about DNA testing and autism since there's still a pretty big misconception on diagnosing someone. Not being snotty about it sorry if I came across as such. I'm trying to be quick about my replies since Sophia is also trying to type out a reply with mine, lol.

You weren't at all, I was just being lazy in not putting that second sentence in a different post. I just re-read what I said and realized I didn't clarify when I said it. My nephew is heavy on the spectrum side and I love him to bits. The emotion board is actually something I learned from his mom when she made one with things he likes to maybe try and get him to be able to communicate so he wouldn't be so frustrated.
Digi: Didn't ignore ya, we musta posted at the same time haha. I agree though, it's good for small offenses. People in the comments were all "oh she's just being lazy" or "oh there's no reason for groundings like that"... but you know what? When Brandon got in trouble in the Air Force for being late to his PT, his punishment was to work for free, cleaning the fire department... No one wants to work extra, especially when they aren't getting paid for it... all the more reason they'll think twice about making a bad decision.

Oh good, I was worried I had offended you. I don't think before I speak or type things and never realize how anything I say may come across.

The board idea is actually a really good one I'm not sure if my MIL
ever tried that with my nephew, she really unfortunately didn't have the patience for him and ended up giving back custody of him to his dad.
He's a sweetheart though but he's forever getting passed from one relative to the next because no one in my husband's family has the patience for his needs. sad

That's really sad actually. sad I know my cousin watched Bander for at least one night to give his parents a night off. I love watching him, but I admit I haven't done it since he got diagnosed with diabetes. I just really am afraid of hurting him or getting his medication wrong or something. sweatdrop
